Full textThis thesis analyses the emergence of a new economic space from a mesoeconomic regulationist and evolutionist approach. This space has been called "bioeconomy" by the actors after divergent and conflictual interpretations of this concept. This economic space differs from the traditional ways of representing the division of labour into sectors (chemistry, agriculture, energy). The actors involved in seeking to define this space are reconstructing these sectors into an original and specific field, which is built on the use of biobased plant, animal and algal renewable resources. These actors consider themselves to be becoming the "industry of industries". Thus, instead of providing end products, they produce intermediates for agro- or chemical industries, materials or energy. The field does not cover photovoltaic electricity. Therefore, bioeconomy is a recomposition of the relationships between agriculture and chemistry in which the former becomes the supplier for the latter. We use the concept of the regimes of production of knowledge and of economic activity to describe the diversity of the technological promises made by the actors involved. We show, therefore, that bioeconomy cannot be reduced to the biotechnological revolution. Three broad views of bioeconomy emerge. At a deeper level, we present here three case studies to illustrate this diversity. The actors are weighed down by an "economy of promises" based on their own productive heritages that they are trying to reproduce and project into the future. This leads them to problematize the bioeconomy space in order to determine their resource allocations

Full textThe early 2000s were marked by an increasingly loud debate on the ability of French wine industry institutions to keep up with changing market demand and global competition. This thesis proposes a meso-level framework that follows the tradition of historical institutionalism. Our approach has been tailored to the analysis of production systems where the interplay between territory and sector is very important. Based on this framework, we focus on the articulation of the macro-meso- and microeconomic levels, on the political work of stakeholders in the wine industry and on the resources of patrimonial nature that ensure its persistence. The application of this methodology has made possible an analysis of the continuance of the French wine production system until the 1970s, the factors of its destabilisation at the end of the 20th century and the adaptation of the system in the 2000s. This thesis also emphasises the variety of the French wine production system, which is composed of diverse wine regions. Our analysis highlights the different historical trajectories of the three main French wine producing regions – Languedoc, Champagne and Bordeaux – and hence the difference in their capacity to adapt to the changes of demand and global competition. Finally, we highlight the diversity of actors in the industry in question by analysing the productive models of Bordeaux wine merchants
Bastien, Jérémie. "Le football professionnel européen dans un système capitaliste financiarisé en crise : une approche régulationniste des facteurs de changement institutionnel." Thesis, Reims, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017REIME002/document.
Full textEconomists argue that the European professional football is in crisis. This thesis discusses this postulate by testing the relationship between the changes in football and the transformations of modern capitalism. Our methodology is based on a meso-level analysis from the French “Régulation theory” which provides a systemic and multilevel analysis. The thesis thus emphasizes how the progressive integration of financialised interests in football has an influence on the strategies of football traditional stakeholders. It actually shows that the financialisation process of the European professional football leads to growth since the 1980s. However, this growth is rather unstable because losses and indebtedness are part of clubs activity. The incentive for sports performance (open league), the players’ strong bargaining power (hold-up) and the flexibility of the regulatory environment are the main determinants of the clubs’ high spendings. Contrary to the “small” clubs, this situation is not a constraint for the “big” clubs thanks to the financial contributions they obtain from their owners, from their funding partners and from their participation to supranational competitions. In this environment and despite instability, the growth regime remains nevertheless sustainable. The stakeholders create new compromises to reduce imbalances: these compromises are the roots for new institutional arrangements that finally support the growth logic which is in place. There is therefore a “régulation” in European professional football, that is to say a process that contributes to the reproduction of the sector. However, this process paradoxically increases inequalities and may encourage the conditions for a major economic crisis

Full textThe purpose of this work is to see, if the more concentrated regions are more competitive. We will analyze the distribution and geographic concentration and economic population, employment and businesses across the Tunisian territory before moving on to the study of the state of competitiveness at different levels and taking the case of Tunisian regions as reference. To do this we use, in a first part, a set absolute and relative indices that have allowed us to discover the state of the concentration at national and regional levels to implement the following method of structural analysis residual (ASR) to understand whether the changing patterns of employment offices and businesses is the result of factors specific to sectors or otherwise relating to the environment. A second part, in which, we used a set of indicators and determinants to understand the macroeconomic and mesoeconomic competitiveness. Then, we tried to determine the status of the development of competitiveness and the benefits are economic dynamics for different regions of Tunisia. Overall, it was concluded that the most concentrated areas in Tunisia are the most competitive. Thus, there is an imbalance whatsoever regarding concentration of population, employment and business between the coastal regions and those inside. This imbalance is also palpable in competitiveness between these regions
