ABSTRACTChildren with word finding difficulties (CwWFDs) are slower and less accurate at naming monomorphemic words than typically developing children (Dockrell, Messer & George, 2001), but their difficulty in naming morphologically complex words has not yet been investigated. One aim of this paper was to identify whether CwWFDs are similar to typically developing children at producing inflected (morphologically complex) words. A second aim was to investigate whether the dual-mechanism model could account for the use of morphology in a sample of CwWFDs, exemplifying the notion that regular

Earlier notions of leadership opined that leadership can be found in one's genes that determine how an individual behaves and reacts to his/her surrounding (Bass, 1985). In the past, an individual became a leader through inheritance of a rank or the throne in a country or in an institution. Introduction Interventions for physically inactive individuals often show rather small and unsustainable effects on exercise and sport behavior. This could be because too little consideration is given to affective processes during and after exercise and sport activities (e.g. shame; Hohberg et al., 2022). Furthermore, people are insufficiently enabled to independently regulate their affective well-being through exercise and sport. However, affect regulation competence is central to fostering sustainable exercise and sport behavior (Sudeck et al., 2022). The FEEL program addresses this gap. The

In this thesis, we will explore the structure of Terwilliger algebras over several different types of finite groups. We will begin by discussing what a Schur ring is, as well as providing many different results and examples of them. Following our discussion on Schur rings, we will move onto discussing association schemes as well as their properties. In particular, we will show every Schur ring gives rise to an association scheme. We will then define a Terwilliger algebra for any finite set, as well as discuss basic properties that hold for all Terwilliger algebras. After specializing to the ca

Such methods are effective but still not good enough whenever a very low false positive rate is required. Abstract:
As part of a US-France Project Agreement, the US Army and ONERA are investigating mid-fidelity computational approaches for rotorcraft aerodynamics. The approaches from both groups use immersed boundaries in the place of boundary-layer-resolved meshes and actuator lines in the place of rotor blades. Results are compared between the US Army and ONERA to assess strengths and limitations of the mid-fidelity algorithms. An isolated rotor case is first used to validate and compare actuator line wake structure against a high-fidelity result. Second, a static coaxial hub is used to compare immersed b

In the present work, a heterogeneous CPU-GPU framework, Mercury, is presented for simulations of complete helicopter configurations. Mercury incorporates three RANS flow solvers, 1) OverTURNS, a structured solver on CPUs, 2) HAMSTR, a line based unstructured solver on CPUs, and 3) GARFIELD, a structured solver on GPUs. The three solvers use the same mesh deformation module and communicate with the overset grid assembler (TIOGA) through a light-weight Python infrastructure. The framework allows seperate connectivity groups for reconnecting and stationary meshes to avoid unnecessary communicatio

Nowadays, most of the numerical simulations are carried out by successively performing the following steps: CAD model definition or modification, conversion to a mesh model and enrichment with semantic data relative to the simulation (e.g. material behaviour laws, boundary conditions), Finite Element simulation and analysis of the results. Classically, the semantic data are attached to the mesh through the use of groups of geometric entities sharing the same characteristics. Thus, any modification of the CAD model always implies an update of the mesh as well as an update of the attached semant

High natural frequencies of planetary gears tend collect into groups. The modes at these natural frequencies are characterized by motion of the planet gears with strain energy in the tooth meshes and planet bearings. Each group has one rotational, one translational, and one planet mode. The groups change in natural frequency together when system parameters are varied. The grouping behavior is disrupted with significant differences in planet-to-planet gear parameter values.

In the last decade, HundrED has collaborated and learned from a diverse global community of innovators, educators, school leaders, and other stakeholders in over 100 countries. This paper begins to address questions from our research agenda, particularly those related to the complex process of innovation implementation at scale. We define the messy middle as the phase marked by complexity and uncertainty that occurs after an innovation has been tested and validated but before it has been institutionalised as part of standard practice in a classroom, school, or system.
