Abstract:
A series of studies are presented on the genetic evaluation of cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) to improve the accuracy and efficiency of selection at various stages of a breeding programme. The central theme was the use of correlated data, such as relationship information and spatial and across-trial correlations, within a linear mixed modelling framework to enhance the evaluation of candidate genotypes and to improve the genetic response to selection. Analyses focused on several social and economically-important traits for the enhancement of the nutritional value, disease resistance and yield of potato tubers. At the formative stages of a breeding scheme, devising a breeding strategy requires an improved understanding of the genetic control of target traits for selection. To guide a strategy that aims to enhance the micronutrient content of potato tubers (biofortification), univariate and multivariate Bayesian models were developed to estimate genetic parameters for micronutrient tuber content from a breeding population generated from crosses between Andean landrace cultivars. The importance of the additive genetic components and extent of the narrow-sense heritability estimates indicated that genotypic 'individual' recurrent selection based on empirical breeding values rather than family-based selection is likely to be the most effective strategy in this breeding population. The magnitude of genetic correlations also indicated that simultaneous increases in important tuber minerals, iron and zinc, could be achieved. Optimising selection efficiency is an important ambition of plant breeding programmes. Reducing the level of candidate replication in field trials may, under certain circumstances, contribute to this aim. Empirical field data and computer simulations inferred that improved rates of genetic gain with p-rep (partially replicated) testing could be obtained compared with testing in fully replicated trials at the early selection stages, particularly when testing over two locations. P-rep testing was able to increase the intensity of selection and the distribution of candidate entries across locations to account for G×E effects was possible at an earlier stage than is currently practised. On the basis of these results, it was recommended that the full replication of trials (at the first opportunity, when enough planting material is available) at a single location in the early stages of selection should be replaced with the partial replication of selection candidates that are distributed over two locations. Genetic evaluation aims to identify genotypes with high empirical breeding values (EBVs) for selection as parents. Using mixed models, spatial parameters to target greater control of localised field heterogeneity were estimated and variance models to account for across-trial genetic heterogeneity were tested for the evaluation of soil-borne powdery scab disease and tuber yield traits at the early stages of a selection programme. When spatial effects improved model fit, spatial correlations for rows and columns were mostly small for powdery scab, and often small and negative for marketable and total tuber yield suggesting the presence of interplot competition in some years for tuber yield traits. For the evaluation of powdery scab, genetic variance structures were tested using data from 12 years of long-term potato breeding METs (multi-environment trials). A simple homogeneous correlation model for the genetic effects was preferred over a more complex factor analytic (FA) model. Similarly, for the MET evaluation of tuber yield at the early stages, there was little benefit in using more complex FA models, with simple correlation structures generally the most favourable models fitted. The use of less complex models will be more straightforward for routine implementation of potato genetic evaluations in breeding programmes. Evaluations for (marketable) tuber yield were extended to multi-location MET data to characterise both genotypes and environments, allowing a re-evaluation of New Zealand MET selection strategies aimed at broad adaptation. Using a factor analytic mixed model, results indicated that the programme’s two main trial locations in the North and the South Islands optimised differentiation between genotypes in terms of G×E effects. There was reasonable performance stability of genotypes across test locations and evidence was presented for some, but limited, genetic progress of cultivars and advanced clonal selections for tuber marketable yield in New Zealand over recent years. The models and selection strategies investigated and developed in this thesis will allow an improved and more systematic application of genetic evaluations in potato selection schemes. This will provide the basis for well informed decisions to be made on selection candidates for the genetic improvement of potato in breeding programmes.

ABSTRACTThis thesis aims to explain how companies and organizations can form their recruitingprocess to successfully recruit people with the same values as the company ororganisation. We have conducted this thesis because we consider it to be of relevancedue to limited research on the subject. To fulfill the purpose of this thesis we havefocused on one main issue. That is how companies can shape their recruiting process torecruit people with the same values as the company. Our ambition is to describe thissubject from a recruiting perspective with the values in focus. We conducted seveninterviews with a qualitative approach for a deeper understanding of the studied topic.The interview respondents consist of a human resource coordinator, an operativemanager, an operator, and customer service workers. Some of which are people whocontinuously recruit people and some of which have themselves been recruited in thelast two years. In the final chapter we present our conclusion of the report. Because ofthe reports qualitative method it is difficult to present a complete picture. We thereforerefer to the last chapter for further reading.

Resumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi o de analisar o conhecimento prévio de professores sobre paz, cultura de Paz, Educação para a Paz e Educação de Valores com vista à elaboração de um programa de formação continuada para docentes que consideram a construção da paz como meta do processo educativo. O estudo apresentado tem como fundamentação teórica os referenciais da Filosofia, Sociologia, Pedagogia e da Psicologia Educacional (Rousseau, Kant, Piaget, Adorno, Heidegger, Montessori, Dewey, Freire, Arendt, Jares, Delors, Serrano, La Taille e autores contemporâneos que discutem a temática), bem como os documentos elaborados pela UNESCO para promoção de uma Cultura de Paz voltados aos valores da tolerância, igualdade, dignidade e respeito, além dos Parâmetros Curriculares da Educação Nacional - PCNs - Temas Transversais, Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional - LDB 9394/96 e o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente - ECA. Participaram da pesquisa quarenta e dois professores do Ensino Fundamental (anos iniciais) da rede municipal de Educação de uma cidade do interior de São Paulo. A metodologia utilizada foi a da pesquisa survey, que possibilitou obter dados sobre as opiniões do grupo de professores, por meio da análise qualitativa e quantitativa dos resultados. A coleta de dados foi realizada de acordo os pressupostos da Metodologia Q. A análise exploratória de dados foi executada por meio de estatísticas descritivas (médias, desvios-padrão, mínimo, mediana, máximo, frequências e porcentagens). Para comparação entre as categorias da metodologia Q, foram utilizados os modelos de ANOVA. A partir da análise dos dados coletados, tomou-se conhecimento das ideias prévias dos professores pesquisados, para os quais o conceito de Paz está relacionado à convivência humana nos relacionamentos do cotidiano, ao bem-estar consigo mesmo e com outro, que se manifesta no diálogo, no respeito mútuo, na preservação do meio ambiente. Paz também foi considerada, pelos participantes, não como ausência de violência, mas como ideia de justiça social, garantia da vida e da dignidade de todos na sociedade. Para esses profissionais a Cultura de Paz no cotidiano escolar se constrói na convivência da família, da sociedade e da comunidade escolar assumindo como princípio para o convívio os valores e as atitudes da inclusão, recusando toda expressão de discriminação e preconceito. De acordo com a opinião dos professores que constituíram a mostra desta pesquisa, a Cultura de Paz no cotidiano escolar se constrói na convivência da família, da sociedade e da comunidade escolar assumindo como princípio para o convívio os valores e as atitudes da inclusão, recusando toda expressão de discriminação e preconceito. Os resultados demonstram também que a Educação de Valores foi considerada necessária para de proporcionar subsídios para uma prática pedagógica que tem como meta a construção de uma Cultura de Paz. A partir dos dados coletados foi elaborado um programa de formação continuada em serviço para professores que estiverem dispostos a trabalhar com vistas a instaurar a Paz Local no cotidiano da escola em que atuam. O que só poderá ser possível, se a equipe gestora, os professores e a comunidade escolar, incluindo a família, estiverem preparados e engajados nesse processo.
Abstract: The aim of this research was analyzing teachers' prior knowledge about peace, Peace culture, Education for Peace and Education of values, in order to create a program for the continuous training of professionals who consider building peace a target in the educational process. The study presented takes as basis the references in Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Educational Psychology (Rousseau, Kant, Piaget, Adorno, Heidegger, Montessori, Dewey, Freire, Arendt, Jares, Delors, Serrano and La Taille and contemporaneous authors discussing the theme), as well as documents from UNESCO to promote a Culture of Peace concerning values of tolerance, equality, dignity and respect and the National Education Curriculum Parameters - PNC - Transverse Themes, Basis and Guidelines Laws of the National Education (LDB 9394/96) and the Child and Adolescent Stature - ECA. The research included forty-two teachers of Primary School (first levels) from the Municipal Education in a town in the interior of São Paulo. The adopted method was the survey research, which enabled the collection of data on actions and thoughts of a certain group of teachers, using qualitative and quantitative analyzes of the results Collection of data followed the guides of Methodology Q. Exploratory analysis of data was carried out by means of descriptive statistics (average, standard-deviation, minimum, medium, maximum, frequencies and percentages). Comparison among categories of methodology was carried out using ANOVA models. Through the qualitative analysis of the data it was possible to know the previous ideas of the professionals, for whom the concept of Peace is related to human beings' social living in the everyday relationships, self-welfare and welfare with others, which is manifested in the dialogue, mutual respect, and environment preservation. For the participants peace was also considered not as absence of violence, but as the idea of social justice, life guarantee and dignity for all member of society. According to the opinion of teachers participating in this study, the Peace Culture in the daily school is build up through the living within the family, the society and the school community, assuming as basis for this, living with values and attitudes of inclusion, refusing all expressions of discrimination and prejudice. Results also show that Education of Values was considered necessary to offer subsides for an education practice that aims at building up a Peace Culture. Based on the collected data, a program was created for the continuous training for teachers willing to work for establishing Local Peace in the schools they work. It will only be possible if the managing team, teachers and the school community, including the family, are prepared and engaged in this process.

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to contribute knowledge of how preschool teachers work with equal value. My questions has been about how preschool teachers do to show children every humans equal value and how they do to meet all children based of this idea. I have used individual qualitative interviews whit 4 preschool teachers as the method for this study. In my result I have found that the preschool teachers worked a lot with equal values. Some preschool teachers worked in different ways every day using different methods like valuational and themelike activities. Common for all the preschool teachers is that they all say that it is extremely important to use the everyday interactions with the children to make them learn the importance of and meaning of every humans equal rights. Previous research and literature shows that it is important to work as a role model for the children. This is something that the preschool teachers I interviewed talk about as well.
Syftet med detta arbete är att bidra med kunskap om hur förskollärare arbetar med allas lika värde. Mina frågeställningar har handlat om hur förskollärare gör för att visa på allas lika värde samt hur förskollärarna gör för att bemöta barnen utifrån denna tanke. Jag har använt mig av kvalitativa intervjuer med 4 förskollärare som metod för arbetet. I mitt resultat fann jag att förskollärarna arbetade mycket med allas lika värde, på några av avdelningarna dagligen med hjälp av bland annat värderings- och temainriktade aktiviteter. Gemensamt för mitt resultat är att förskollärarna på alla avdelningar betonar vikten av samspelet med barnen för att få ut kunskap om allas lika värde. Att vara en förebild är även något jag kan se förskollärarna jag intervjuat och tidigare forskning samt litteratur jag läst lägger stort fokus vid.

La modification de l'environnement et l'évolution rapide du monde des affaires ont contraint les entreprises à réorganiser leurs services. Dans ce contexte la fonction Achats se transforme d'une fonction administrative à une fonction stratégique. Cette thèse a pour objectif d'analyser la création de valeur de la fonction Achats en se focalisant sur le rôle de l'acheteur. Elle s'appuie sur l'analyse de la transformation d'une fonction Achats dans le cadre d'un contrat de recherche au sein d'un groupe agroalimentaire international. La méthodologie d'analyse qualitative, s'appuyant sur l'utilisation du logiciel d'analyse Lexicale Nvivo10, a mobilisé des cadres théoriques pertinents aux regards des thèmes issus du cas. La recherche montre que l'acheteur peut à la fois créer de la valeur par les actions de productivité, et par des actions entrepreneuriales pouvant favoriser le développement des ventes. Les résultats conceptualisent l'acheteur et mettent en évidence la nécessité pour l'acheteur de détenir, en complément des compétences techniques, des Méta-compétence qui lui permettront de saisir les opportunités de l'écosystème pour les transformer en produits ou services commercialisables. Ces Meta-compétences différencient les collaborateurs moyens des collaborateurs efficaces, elles permettent de soutenir les compétences techniques et d'en acquérir de nouvelles. Elles s'attachent aux comportements et aptitudes individuelles et sont liées à la personnalité de l'individu. Finalement la thèse propose un modèle intégrateur des compétences de l'acheteur, qui rend compte de la prépondérance des Méta-compétences comme socle de la capacité de l'acheteur à créer de la valeur
Modification of the environment and the rapidly changing business world have forced companies to reorganize their services. In this context the purchasing function becomes an administrative function to a strategic function, impacting the performance of the company and its ability to create value directly. This thesis aims to analyze the value creation of the purchasing function by focusing on the role of the buyer. Our research is based on the analysis of the transformation of a purchasing function within the framework of a research contract in an international food company. The analytical methodology is qualitative, based on the use of Nvivo10 Lexical analysis software. They were put in perspective with the eyes of relevant themes from the case theoretical frameworks. Research shows that the buyer can both create value through the actions of productivity, and entrepreneurial activities that foster the development of sales. The results conceptualize the buyer and highlight the need for the buyer to hold, in addition to technical skills, Meta-competencies that will seize the opportunities of the ecosystem to transform them into marketable products or services. These Meta-competencies differentiate means employees and effective contributors; they can support the technical skills and acquire new ones. They attach to the behaviors and personal skills and are related to the personality of the individual. Finally, the thesis proposes an integrative skills model of the buyer, which accounts for the preponderance of Meta-skills as the basis of the ability of the buyer to create value

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to investigate what happens when the experiences and conceptions of physical education (PE) student teachers encounter the value structures of a PE teacher education programme. The starting point for the study are the criticisms that the PE teacher education programme has inadequate links to science, that it finds it difficult to challenge traditional gender patterns, and that the students' experiences of their own sporting activities are more important than the education programme for what knowledge is considered valuable. The study has a cultural sociological and gender theoretical perspective. The analysis has been done with the help of Pierre Bourdieu's concepts as the tools of analysis. The empirical evidence has been collected with the help of several different methods. Quantitative data has been collected with the help of questionnaires which a total of 450 student teachers returned; qualitative data has been collected using: essays written by PE student teachers during their physical education specialisation and in-depth interviews with teacher educators. The results show that today's education is still characterised by many of the traditions, norms and values which historically have been its distinguishing features. The “rules of the game” are generally taken for granted and this is based on a shared conception in the value of the education. In the eyes of the students, the trademark of a good PE teacher is to be good at many different sports, have in-depth knowledge of human biology, and have the “right” personality. They are less interested in pedagogical issues and they would have preferred the whole course to have served them with ready-made solutions and answers. Even if gender and social issues have been part of the education, the gender habitus has changed very little during the programme. The way they see the subject is largely the same as it was before the course, but what appeared to them to be a ”pure” sports subject before the course started has afterwards become more a way of “attaining health through sport”. The study indicates that the dominating values within the PE teacher education seem to be in harmony with the students' habitus which make it difficult to challenge the ”order of things” and  that changes will take time.

Abstract:
Den svenska skolans fostransuppdrag, det vill säga att överföra värden som samhället anser vara viktiga till eleverna, är enligt de nu gällande styrdokumenten en viktig del av undervisningen. I läroböcker i religionskunskap skrivna för gymnasiet har dock detta uppdrag hamnat i skymundan. I denna uppsats undersöks tre läroböcker i religionskunskap skrivna för gymnasieelever för att identifiera eventuella brister inom värdegrundsarbetet i läroböcker. Enligt iakttagelserna i denna undersökning är det största problemet att värdepedagogiken ständigt kommer i andra hand och att fokus ständig vilar på förmedlandet av kunskap. En konsekvens av detta är att värdepedagogiken tycks ha inkluderats i läroböckerna som en eftertanke. Det verkar som om merparten av stoffet i läroböckerna primärt har valts utifrån dess potentiella bidrag till kunskapsuppdraget, även om det ibland innebär att det undergrävt fostransuppdraget. Slutsatsen i denna uppsats är att värdepedagogiken måste vara en aktiv och medveten del i skapandet av textbaserade läromedel för att läroböcker på allvar ska bidra till fostransuppdragets förverkligande.
Civic education is an important part of the education of teens in Sweden. When reading high school textbooks of religious studies it is noticible that the use of civic education is lacking. This thesis examined three high school textbooks of religious studies in order to identify the shortcomings of civic education in textbooks. The major issue regarding civic education, according to the findings of this thesis, is the fact that traditional education, i.e. the transfer of knowledge, is the main purpose of these textbooks. As a result civic education is often included in textbooks as somewhat of an afterthought. The majority of the material included in textbooks seem to be primarily selected on the basis of what it contributes towards thegoals of traditional education, even if that material sometimes undermines the goals of civic education. The conclusion of this thesis is that civic education must become something that authors reflect upon as a conscious part of writing textbooks if the civic educational goals of the swedish educational system are to be achieved.

Abstract Today, too many construction projects are delayed and deviates from the budget. A good project management is the basis for successful construction project. The most common planning methods in the construction industry is currently Gantt chart and CPM. The problem with these is that focus is only at the time of the project and doesn’t handle the budget. A project management method which connects the time and cost is Earned Value Management. Earned Value Management enables calculations of different metrics for cost and time that can be used early to see trends in project implementation. The aim of our study is to describe the project managenment in the construction industry and to explain the criteria needed to implement project management methodology Earned Value Management in a construction company. The EVM is unproved at the construction company we chose to do a case study about. We have in a completed building projects in ByggSjögren in Halmstad, Sweden, examined the criteria that exist, and are required to apply Earned Value Management. Through interviews with Annarell Malmberg and Martin Bengtsson, responsible for calculations and purchase of ByggSjögren, and Insa Ostendorf, project manager at Ramböll, we were using the information they gave us to do our study. Based on empirical evidence and data we collected, we have made estimates and proposals for ByggSjögren could proceed at an implementation of Earned Value Management. We have from a completed project studied the criteria that exist today, and what is missing to be able to use Earned Value Management. Finally, we concluded that the criteria that are important to implement Earned Value Management in construction industry is particularly close monitoring. Much of what is included in the Earned Value Management is already being done today in many construction companies, but they have no name for it.
Idag blir alltför många byggprojekt försenade och håller inte budget. Därför är en bra projektstyrning grunden för lyckade byggprojekt. De vanligaste planeringsmetoderna inom byggbranschen är idag Gantt-schema och Critical Path Method. Problemet med dessa är att fokus endast ligger på tiden för projektet och hanterar inte budgeten. En projektstyrningsmetod som kopplar samman tid och kostnad är Earned Value Management. Earned Value Management möjliggör beräkningar av olika nyckeltal för kostnad och tid som kan användas för att i ett tidigt skede kunna se trender i projektgenomförandet. Syftet med vår studie är att beskriva projektstyrning inom byggbranschen samt att förklara vilka kriterier som krävs för att implementera projektstyrningsmetoden Earned Value Management på ett byggföretag. I och med att Earned Value är oprövad på byggföretag valde vi att göra en fallstudie. Vi har utifrån ett avslutat byggprojekt på ByggSjögren i Halmstad undersökt vilka kriterier som finns, och krävs för att tillämpa Earned Value Management. Genom intervjuer med Annarell Malmberg och Martin Bengtsson, ansvariga för kalkyler och inköp på ByggSjögren, och Insa Ostendorf, projektledare på Ramböll kunde vi med hjälp av den information de gav oss utföra vår studie. Utifrån den empiri och data vi samlat har vi gjort beräkningar och förslag på hur ByggSjögren skulle kunna gå till väga vid en implementering av Earned Value Management. Vi har utifrån ett avslutat projekt studerat vilka kriterier som idag finns, och vilka som saknas för att kunna använda sig av Earned Value Management. Slutligen kom vi fram till att de kriterier som är viktiga för att kunna implementera Earned Value Management i byggbranschen är framförallt en noggrann uppföljning. Metoden består av tio viktiga steg, vilka utgör de kriterier som krävs för en implementering. Mycket av det som ingår i Earned Value Management görs redan idag på många byggföretag fast de har inget namn på det.

Tree species migration as a result of climate change may alter the composition of trees in local communities. Shifts in tree diversity, stand age, species predominance and the overall number of trees are potential changes. Community tree programs may also change the characteristics of local trees through planting or preservation efforts, but these programs may also mitigate the effects of climate induced tree migration. Numerous hedonic property value studies have estimated the implicit price of tree amenities associated with residential properties. Quantitative analysis of the results from multiple studies valuing trees can identify if the relationship between implicit price and tree amenities extended across these studies. The results of the meta-regression found systematic variation was present across positive implicit prices for local tree cover. The scarcity, age and type of local trees were also significantly related to the implicit price of amenity tree cover. The amenity tree cover findings suggest that county tree canopy cover of about 42% optimizes implicit price. Recent extreme weather events and ownership of trees contributed to negative implicit prices. These results may assist in planning and goal setting for community tree programs to mitigate the effects of climate induced tree migration.

Examensarbetet har utförts på Swegon AB i Kvänum som utvecklar, tillverkar och säljer klimatanläggningar för inomhusbruk. Ledningen vill se en mer strukturerad hantering av de kostnadsreduceringsarbeten som Swegon utför på sina produkter. Swegon arbetar med kostnadsreducering genom att använda metoden VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering). Uppdraget som gavs var att reducera rörliga kostnader på sortimentet Compact och för att klara detta vara koordinatorer i en VAVE. I uppdraget ingick även en granskning av metoden samt att lämna förbättringsförslag som leder till att både deltagare och ledning blir nöjda med arbetssättet. Åtgärderna som bör genomföras går främst ut på att minska resurser som krävs för att utföra en VAVE. Detta uppdrag resulterade i två frågeställningar: 1. Vilka förändringar kan hittas med VAVE, som minskar rörliga kostnader vid tillverkning av Compact-aggregat?   2. Finns det förbättringar som kan implementeras i Swegons VAVE?   För att besvara frågeställning ett krävs det fullt deltagande vid förberedelse inför workshopen och under workshopen. Något som inte har genomförts är deltagande efter workshopen då det hamnar utanför examensarbetets ram. För att besvara frågeställning två krävs en analys av metoden VAVE, jämförelser med liknande metoder och teorier och egna erfarenheter från den genomförda VAVEn. Intervjuer, observationer och dokumentstudie har utförts för att få den kunskaps som krävs för att besvara frågeställningarna.   Resultatet av arbetet är förslag på åtgärder som kan införas för att minska de rörliga tillverkningskostnaderna för Compact-sortimentet med hela 12,3 %. Åtgärderna består främst av omkonstruktion och byte av befintliga komponenter. De åtgärder som ger störst besparingar planeras att ta längre tid än tolv månader vilket resulterade i ett projekt som kommer att genomföras i framtiden när resurser är tillgängliga. Resultatet är även en förbättrad version av VAVE där överflödiga moment har plockats bort samt moment som kan förbättra resultatet har lagts till eller ändrats. De moment som har plockats bort är protypbyggnation innan workshop, relationsmatris och paretodiagram. De moment som har lagts till eller ändrats är produktspecifikation, kundkrav, produktkalkyl, utvärdering och presentation av workshop.   Vidare arbete som kan vara lämpligt är att undersöka resultatet av den nya versionen av VAVE genom att utföra den ett antal gånger och jämföra resultaten med Swegons nuvarande version.
This assignment was performed at Swegon AB in Kvänum, a company that develops, manufactures and sells indoor air conditioning systems. The head management was looking for a more structured method when trying to reduce costs on their products. When constructing a cost reduction evaluation, Swegon uses the VAVE method (Value analysis/Value engineering). The assignment was to reduce the variable costs on Swegons Compact assortment, as well as being coordinates in a VAVE-evaluation. Furthermore the assignment also included a review of the VAVE method and submitting suggestions on improvements that could be made to reduce costs at the same time as both employees and management are satisfied. The measures to be made are focused on reducing the costs of constructing a VAVE evaluation. This resulted in two questions: 1. What changes could be made by using VAVE that would reduce variable costs when manufacturing the Compact products? 2. Are there any improvements to be implemented in Swegons VAVE? To answer question one, full participation was needed both when preparing the workshop and during the workshop. As participation after the workshop are outside the frames of the assignment, that was left out. To answer question two, a thorough investigation of the VAVE method was needed, as well as a comparison to similar methods and experiences from the carried out VAVE. Interviews, observations and document analysis were also done in order to answer the questions in the best way possible. As a result, the assignment suggests implementations that would reduce the variable manufacturing costs on the Compact assortment by as much as 12.3%. The measures are focused on reconstruction and change of existing components. Measures giving the highest savings are estimated to run over more than 12 months and therefore resulted in a project that will be carried out in the future when resources are available. The assignment also resulted in an improved version of VAVE where unnecessary steps are removed and elements that can enhance the results are added or changed. The removed steps is make a prototype before the workshop, relationship matrix and pareto chart. The added or changed steps is product specification, customer demands, cost breakdown, evaluation and presentation of the workshop. Suggestions on further work in this area would be to evaluate the results of the new version of VAVE, by using it multiple times and then compare it to the version that Swegon currently uses.

When professionals meet people from other cultures, there are some problematic issues that may appear, especially when considering human rights. Every individual has the right to live as they choose, and have the right to their own culture and traditions even if they have immigrated to another country. Female genital mutilation is a tradition that violates human rights. In this study we will look at what conflicts of values that professionals can have while meeting clients who have been mutilated. We have made qualitative interviews with four professionals working in a small town in Sweden in an area where many immigrants live. Professionals who meet people that have been genital mutilated have to balance respect for the individual with official restrictions and law. Knowledge about other countries and cultures can be important in the meeting between the professional and the client. Many conflicts of values appear and in this study we lift some of these conflicts.

The textual analysis of season four, episode one of Mad Men entitled “Public Relations” study the productions values in terms of feminist motifs. By using social codes developed by Leed-Hurwitz and Barthes’ five systems of meaning in semiotics, observations are made about the elements of the mise-en-scène in relation to the gender roles present in the narrative. If certain codes persist, it is assumed that these repetitive observations reflect the deliberate composition of the mise-en-scènce in order to reinforce feminist motifs. The results reveal that the production values in the mise-en-scène indeed reinforce feminist motifs in Mad Men, the most comprehensive motif being the male gender as the norm. The messages communicated by this motif include the idea that masculinity is defined by sex and that a women’s worth is defined by masculinity

Syftet med denna litteraturanalys är att undersöka vilken didaktisk potential det finns att använda nyskriven barn- och ungdomslitteratur som utgångspunkt i skolans värdegrundsarbete.  För att undersöka detta studeras fem utvalda mellanåldersböcker som riktar sig främst till barn i årskurs 4–6. Studien har sin utgångspunkt i att värdegrundsarbetet är en viktig del av skolans uppdrag vilket många lärare upplever som otydligt. Den motiveras med att värdegrundsarbete visat sig fungera bättre på skolor som arbetar målmedvetet och integrerar värdegrundsarbetet i undervisningen. Tidigare forskning visar att det finns didaktisk potential för alla sorters skönlitterära verk men att det behövs en medveten pedagogik för att eleverna ska kunna urskilja värdegrundsfrågor som finns i skönlitteraturen. Den visar också att värdegrundsarbete är ett problematiskt begrepp eftersom det är svårt att definiera och upplevs otydligt bland lärare. Vid analysen har samtliga fem böcker lästs i sin helhet och tolkats utifrån ett hermeneutiskt perspektiv med syfte att urskilja innehållsdelar som teman, motiv, handling och karaktärer för att se vilken didaktisk potential det finns att använda dem i undervisningen om värdegrundsfrågor. Resultatet av analysen visar att det finns en didaktisk potential för att arbeta med värdegrundsfrågor utifrån samtliga av de fem utvalda mellanåldersböckerna då alla innehåller mönster och teman som kan vara relevanta i undervisningen om grundläggande värden. En slutsats som går att dra utifrån studien och tidigare forskning är att en medveten värdepedagogik är viktig för att synliggöra den didaktiska potentialen som finns i litteraturen.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis was to study how preschool teachers interpret the values of the preschool curriculum that relates to culture and how the teachers describe how they work with these values in their professional practice. The study is based on social constructive and discourse analytic perspectives. I have studied how preschool teachers construct the concept of culture and the values of the preschool curriculum through a specific way to describe this. A specific way to talk about something is called a discourse. In other words I have studied preschool teachers expressed discourses about culture and their professional practice with the values of the preschool curriculum. To study this, I've done interviews with four preschool teachers. In the interviews I let the teachers interpret the words from the pre-school curriculum that relate to culture and describe how they work with these in their professional practice. In the next step I used the transcribed interviews for the discourse analysis. I did the analysis by searching for discursive patterns in what preschool teachers say. It appeared that all preschool teachers used the same words in the interpretations and descriptions, and that some of these words were described to have internal relationships between each other. The words that were described to relate to each other were: The family and The preschool, Similarity and Difference, and The individual and the Group. But the words and the relationships where described in different ways in the interpretations of the curriculum and in the descriptions of the practical work. I interpreted this to be two different discourses, one discourse about the words in curriculum and one discourse about their practical work. I call these: The discourse about the theory and The discourse about the practice. Within the discourse about the theory all children were described as culturally different from each other and that was a positive value that the pre-school should plan the work around. The work should also be planned around the children’s individual interests and cultures. The relationship between the family and the preschool where described as an important and unproblematic part of this work. In the discourse about the practice only some children was described as different. It was the children that by the teachers were interpreted as non-Swedish. Only these where described to have an individual culture, different from the Swedish culture. They were describe as different from "us", from the Swedes. In this discourse the relationship with the so called different children’s families were described as a very important part of the preschools work with culture, but the relationship with the children of the interpreted Swedish families was not described to be as important. To work with what the preschool teachers described as a Swedish culture was also very important so that the different children would be able to be a part of the group, the swedes. Finally, I looked at how these two discourses relate to other discourses within the school system that I have seen in other scientific studies. When doing so, I saw both similarities and differences from other discourses. The way to describe some children to be different from others, different from "us" was one similarity, but the aim to plan the pre-schools work around the children’s individual interests was for example different from the other discourses.

Vilka insatser står i centrum för det fysiska mötet respektive virtuella kontakterna? 2. Vad har den digitala utvecklingen skapat för möjligheter för företagen till att erbjuda servicekvalitet och värdeskapande? 3. Vilka variationer finns det i företags prestationer mellan olika målgrupper? Metod: En kvalitativ metod med ett växelspel mellan ett induktivt och ett deduktivt tillvägagångssätt har tillämpats. För datainsamlingen har semistrukturerade intervjuer med nio respondenter från banksektorn ägt rum. Slutsats: För att skapa servicekvalitet och goda kundrelationer med hänsyn till de möjligheter som den digitala utvecklingen medfört, har vi funnit att tjänsteföretag bör kombinera det traditionella servicelandskapet och det virtuella servicelandskapet på ett sömlöst sätt. Att behålla relationerna personliga ses även det som viktigt och något segmentering och kundanpassning skapar förutsättningar för. Genom att två välfungerande servicelandskap erbjuds för kunden, skapas en större möjlighet och valfrihet som gör att kunden utför sina ärenden på det sättet som passar dennes behov och önskemål bäst. Genom att tjänsteföretag tillhandahåller kunder digitala lösningar, kan en högre kvalitet i det fysiska mötet skapas.
Purpose and research questions: The purpose is to examine the service companies efforts to create service quality and good customer relations, taking into account the opportunities that digital development entails. 1. What efforts are at the centre of the physical meeting and virtual contacts? 2. What kind of opportunities has the digital development created for companies to offer quality of service and value creation? 3. What variations are there in companies' performance between different target groups? Method: A qualitative method with an interaction between an inductive and a deductive approach has been applied. For data collection, semi-structured interviews with nine respondents from the banking sector have taken place. Conclusion: In order to create service quality and good customer relations regarded to the opportunities the digital development entails, we have found that service companies should combine the traditional service landscape and the virtual service landscape in a seamless kind of way. Keeping the relationships personal is also seen as important and something segmentation and customization create the conditions for. By offering two well-functioning service landscapes, greater opportunity and freedom of choice are created for the customer. When service companies provide customers with digital solutions, a higher quality in the physical meeting can be made possible.

This work deals with some classes of linear second order partial differential operators with non-negative characteristic form and underlying non- Euclidean structures. These structures are determined by families of locally Lipschitz-continuous vector fields in RN, generating metric spaces of Carnot- Carath´eodory type. The Carnot-Carath´eodory metric related to a family {Xj}j=1,...,m is the control distance obtained by minimizing the time needed to go from two points along piecewise trajectories of vector fields. We are mainly interested in the causes in which a Sobolev-type inequality holds with respect to the X-gradient, and/or the X-control distance is Doubling with respect to the Lebesgue measure in RN. This study is divided into three parts (each corresponding to a chapter), and the subject of each one is a class of operators that includes the class of the subsequent one. In the first chapter, after recalling “X-ellipticity” and related concepts introduced by Kogoj and Lanconelli in [KL00], we show a Maximum Principle for linear second order differential operators for which we only assume a Sobolev-type inequality together with a lower terms summability. Adding some crucial hypotheses on measure and on vector fields (Doubling property and Poincar´e inequality), we will be able to obtain some Liouville-type results. This chapter is based on the paper [GL03] by Guti´errez and Lanconelli. In the second chapter we treat some ultraparabolic equations on Lie groups. In this case RN is the support of a Lie group, and moreover we require that vector fields satisfy left invariance. After recalling some results of Cinti [Cin07] about this class of operators and associated potential theory, we prove a scalar convexity for mean-value operators of L-subharmonic functions, where L is our differential operator. In the third chapter we prove a necessary and sufficient condition of regularity, for boundary points, for Dirichlet problem on an open subset of RN related to sub-Laplacian. On a Carnot group we give the essential background for this type of operator, and introduce the notion of “quasi-boundedness”. Then we show the strict relationship between this notion, the fundamental solution of the given operator, and the regularity of the boundary points.

The change in statutory audit in 2010 made the auditor market more competitive and commercial market. Since audit is no longer mandatory for small and medium sized enterprises, the need of providing value-added audit has been increased. The value-added audit is a concept used by audit firms, trying to meet client expectations, but can the demanded value depend on the client? The purpose of the study is to try to explain the client's demand for value-added audit. The study can provide a better understanding of what factors affect the client's demand. The demanded value has been divided into two different groups: audit-value and added-value. In accordance with accounting theories, for example stakeholder theory and agency theory, the model of the study has been developed. The model illustrates factors that might affect the client's demand of value-added audit, including the expected relation for the different factors. The empirical material is collected, partly through a survey study, partly through secondary data. The result indicates factors that might tend to affect the client’s demand of value-added audit, which are in line with earlier studies. Our conclusion is that client’s demand of value-added audit may depend the importance of internal stakeholders, leverage and position. The new understanding may promote are more effective value-added audit for the client and the auditor. During the study, a lesser studied area was identified, which were if the marketing strategy of various audit firms are different. The variation of marketing may therefore be interesting to study in future research.
I samband med slopande av revisionsplikten 2010, har revisorns arbetsmarknad förändrats till att bli en mer konkurrensutsatt och kommersiell marknad. Eftersom det inte längre är obligatorisk för alla aktiebolag att anlita en revisor har behovet av att påvisa ett tillfört värde för klienten ökat. Mervärdet är ett koncept som revisionsbyråer använder för att försöka möta klientens förväntningar, men kan värdet av revisionen variera beroende på klient? Syfte med studien är att försöka förklara klientens efterfrågade värde av revisorn. Tanken med studien är att bidra med en bättre förståelse kring vilka faktorer som påverkar klientens efterfrågade värde, vilka har delats in i två värden: revisionsvärde och mervärde. Med hjälp av relevanta redovisningsteorier, exempelvis intressentteori och agentteori, har studiens modell utvecklats. Modellen illustrerar faktorer som kan antas påverka klientens efterfrågade värde av revisorn samt vilket samband som förväntas föreligga för respektive faktor. Studiens empiriska material har insamlats, dels genom en enkätundersökning, dels genom att hämta sekundärdata från respektive klients årsredovisning. Resultatet av studien indikerar på faktorer som tenderar till att påverka klientens efterfrågade värde av revisorn, vilka överensstämmer med tidigare forskning. Vår slutsats är att klientens efterfrågade värde av revisorn kan bero på följande faktorer: betydelsen av interna intressenter, skuldsättningsgrad och befattning. Den nya förståelsen kan främja en mer effektiv och värdeskapande revision, dels för klienten, dels för revisorn. I samband med studien identifierades ett mindre utforskat område inom värdeskapande revision, vilket var om marknadsföringsstrategin varierar mellan revisionsbyråer. Revisionsbyråernas marknadsföring kan därmed vara intressant för framtida forskning att studera.

Studien syftar till att beskriva hur fyra lärare mot yngre åldrar förhåller sig till och arbetar med värdegrunden genom litteraturen. Där litteraturen används som ett pedagogiskt verktyg för att förebygga konflikter eller belysa andra frågor som berör skolans värdegrund. Utifrån detta diskuteras litteraturens möjligheter och funktion i skolans värdegrundsarbete och därtill lärares beskrivna mål med värdegrunden genom litteraturarbetet samt val av litteratur. Studiens övergripande mål är att föra en diskussion om synen på skolans huvudsakliga uppdrag kunskapsuppdraget och värdegrundsuppdraget. Denna studie beskriver hur lärare förhåller sig till kunskapsuppdraget och värdegrundsuppdraget, där litteraturen får ha en central plats för arbetet med värdegrundsfrågor. Studien är också en beskrivning av lärarnas ämnesuppfattningar inom svenskämnet. Studien utgår ifrån följande frågeställningar: -Hur beskriver lärarna sitt arbete med värdegrunden genom litteraturen?  -Vilka förtjänster respektive utmaningar upplever lärarna att det finns med ett arbetssätt där litteratur används i värdegrundsarbetet?   -Vilka mål beskriver lärarna att de har med sitt arbete med värdegrunden genom litteraturen? -Hur motiverar lärarna sina didaktiska val av litteratur i syfte att beröra värdegrundsfrågor? Studiens valda metod är kvalitativa metoder genom lärarintervjuer och har därför ett lärarperspektiv. De utvalda lärarna har alla svenska som ett av sina huvudämnen. Det empiriska materialet analyseras utifrån teorier nära Louise M. Rosenblatts tankar om litteraturen som en nödvändighet i en demokrati och för att utveckla demokratiska medborgare. Även Gunilla Molloys syn på svenskämnet som ett demokratiämne samt Aidan Chambers teorier om litteraturläsningens inverkan på individen tas upp. Resultatet visar att lärarna har en konstruktivistisk syn på värdegrundsarbetet inom värdepedagogiken då värdegrundsfrågor arbetas medvetet med i hantering av konflikter och förebyggande värdegrundsarbete. Resultatet visar att lärarna ser litteraturen som en möjlighet att utveckla både elevers demokratiska värderingar och demokratiska förmågor. Litteraturens möjligheter att utveckla den känslomässiga inlevelseförmågan innefattande empati och förnuft genom att göra textkopplingar till sig själva och världen omkring sig framkom som centrala delar av arbetet med litteraturen. Lärarna beskriver rika möjligheter till deliberativa samtal utifrån litteraturen i undervisningen till att arbeta med värdegrundsrelaterade frågor men det framkom som en utmaning att få med alla elever i samtalen. Lärarna väljer texter utifrån elevernas samt gruppens behov och tidigare erfarenheter och kan därför sägas ha en erfarenhetspedagogisk ämnesuppfattning. Det framkom att lärarna inte bara ser svenskämnet som ett färdighetsämne utan också som ett demokratiämne med många möjligheter att bidra till den växande människans utveckling av demokratiska värderingar.

Abstract:
The topic of this essay is core value issues, how they are mediated in school and how they are practiced. I am investigating a problem concerning the existential worth of the core values-content for children, or in other words, the difficulty of reconciling the theory of the core values and their practice. This problem is portrayed by two stories. The aim of this work is to investigate how to combine the core values theory with its practice, in other words, make it meaningful. In my essay, I turn to recent research in the field to provide a background to my issue, and hereby further point to my problem. To further deepen the understanding of the problem, I use the professor and educator Eugene Matusov´s theory of dialogic pedagogy. Matusov, much inspired by Bahktin, asserts that all human communication is inherently dialogic. Based on this thesis I have tried to understand my problem and examine what possible solutions Matusov can contribute with. What I have found is that core values practice, here illustrated by my stories and current research, is problematic because it very much is program-based. This tends to lead to correcting children's behavior through actions and prevention against bullying and abusive actions. This becomes the core values practice. Instead I argue based Matusov´s theory, that the core values practice ​​should rather have a broad democracy and community focus where norms, societal discourses and structures are examined in a joint effort. I also argue that meaning making and learning can, and aught to, be promoted through dialogic pedagogy.

Our study is about values education and the teachers’ work with it. The purpose with the study have been to develop our knowledge about schools’ work with values education, but also get an insight in differences and similarities among teachers. We have figured out how teachers can work with values and how this work can be connected with identity. A big part of the students’ identity is created during their childhood and time in school and the teachers’ job is to give those students the right tools to develop both emotionally and in terms of knowledge. By performing interviews we have been able to construct a basis for discussion about the teachers’ work with values education connected to previous research and theory such as Erik Homburger Eriksons concepts about values and identity. Our study shows that teachers’ values education is largely integrated into the basic education plan. The teachers use tools such as media and values exercises but the most important thing is the communication between teacher and student. Both the teachers and students are supposed to be role models for each other and in the classroom an open and forgiving basis for discussion is of importance. Students’ creation of identity and values education goes hand in hand. Through the work with values students’ identities are developed

El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer y comparar los valores, las metas y el bienestar subjetivo en dos localidades de la Región Junín. Este estudio contó con la participación de siete personas que vivían en San Ramón y siete, en Santiago León de Chongos Bajo, teniendo un total de catorce participantes. A todos ellos se les realizó una entrevista semiestructurada para obtener la información necesaria. Con respecto a los resultados, tanto en la ciudad (distrito de San Ramón) como en un pueblo (distrito de Santiago León de Chongos Bajo) se mantienen los mismos valores y antivalores, siendo la característica positiva el apoyar al prójimo; mientras que la más criticada, el mantener actitudes individualistas. Para las metas, en ambos se tiene como principal objetivo el mantener un bienestar en su familia y el crecimiento personal, pero se diferencian en la manera de cómo conseguir ello. Esta diferencia podría deberse a un mayor poder adquisitivo que se tiene en la ciudad. Por último, en el bienestar subjetivo, este sería similar en ambos lugares porque los participantes están cumpliendo sus metas y reportan un bienestar que proviene con su endogrupo.
The aim of this research is to know and compare values, goals and subjective wellbeing in two locations in the Junín region. The participants were seven people who lived in San Ramón and seven in Santiago León de Chongos Bajo, having a total of fourteen interviewed. All of them underwent a semi-structured interview to obtain the necessary information. The results mention that in the city (district of San Ramón) and in a village (district of Santiago León de Chongos Bajo), both have the same values and anti-values are maintained, with the positive characteristic being that of supporting the neighbor; while the most criticized is maintaining individualist attitudes. For the goals, both have as main objective to maintain a well-being in their family and personal growth, but they differ in the way of how to achieve it. This difference could be a great purchasing power in the city and in the education they receive. Finally, in the subjective well-being, this would be similar in both places, and that the participants are fulfilling their goals and present a well-being within their group.

In light of growing criticism towards New Public Management and its effects, interest has been directed at alternative management control concepts in the public sector. Whether Public Value Management is an alternative, possibly even a new paradigm, is being discussed on the research front. New Public Management and Public Value Management have evolved in parallel during the past decades. However, New Public Management has had greater impact, not least in governments’ control of state agencies. The aim of the thesis is to gain an understanding of how ideas about the creation of public value diverge between New Public Management and Public Value Management. Beyond the research question of whether management control meets the demands of efficiency and customer-orientation as addressed in previous studies on reforms influenced by New Public Management, this thesis deals with the issue of creating value for the benefit of society. In a qualitative approach, the research is based on interpretations of documents, observations and interviews with examples from state agencies in the museum sector. The result of the study shows that differences between New Public Management and Public Value Management are expressed in notions of accountability, results and proficiency. The time perspective differs, as do the means of financing and involvement of stakeholders. Reforms in line with Public Value Management call for the involvement or consideration of a larger circle of stakeholders, including future generations. The findings of the thesis suggest that the diverging perceptions of value creation does not rule out that elements from both concepts can be combined and complement each other. The main issue is to take into account the contribution made to public value, considering whether the mandate is a long-term government assignment in line with Public Value Management or if it involves activities well suited to New Public Management with prerequisites for market orientation. The dissertation contributes to research in the field of management control in the public sector and the issue of public value.

The Swedish state and educational system are secular, so to say they do not depend on the former protestant state church anymore. Many people in Sweden are also secular. Even so, in school teachers meet students with a religious faith. The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers without a religious belonging experience the encounter with religious students. The method used was semistructured interviews with five teachers in a upper secondary school in a multicultural suburb of Stockholm. In this school, most students have a religious faith and the majority are Muslims or Christians. The prevalent discourses about religion and secularism in Sweden today are found through the teachers speech about the teachers and the students living in two different worlds. The dichotomy is more clearly expressed by the less religious teachers. The meaning of the double assignment of the curriculum is interpreted differently by the different teachers and the teachers have experienced conflicts of values regarding the following subjects: freedom of speech, sexuality (including homosexuality and gender equality), antisemitism and intolerance. The teachers use discussions and debates to handle the conflicts. In their statements, the teachers place the conflicts of value in a public sphere, not in an individual, which means they do not hesitate to act against unscientific approaches and/or antidemocratic views. Thus, the conflicts of values can be used as tools to foster democracy, tolerance and human rights. The teachers believe that they have the assignment to change the students religiously anchored values, but not to influence them to become secular.

Experts have called for greater diversity in the nursing workforce; however, men remain underrepresented in the nursing profession. The presence of cultural dissonance among male nursing students has been documented in prior research but little is known about their values that are culturally influenced. The purpose of this study was to understand and interpret the meaning of core professional nursing values to male baccalaureate nursing students. The research question was: what is the meaning of core professional nursing values to nursing students who are men. The study setting was an undergraduate baccalaureate school of nursing in the Midwest. Using a purposive, convenience sampling method and van Manen's interpretive phenomenological method, ten semistructured interviews were conducted with nine participants. Documents and images were also analyzed. Data analysis followed the hermeneutic process. The overarching theme of this study was caring, illustrated by the metaphor of a puzzle. In the first theme, entering program with pieces of the puzzle of caring, participants' personal values aligned with those of the nursing profession and professional values began to form before the nursing education experience. The second theme, finding more pieces of caring, included subthemes of disconnect and change in professional nursing values during the nursing program. Caring as patient-centered relationships (theme three) involved patient interactions, honesty, teamwork, respect and dignity, and privacy/confidentiality. A fourth theme of caring as helping was described in subthemes of altruism, empathy/compassion, advocacy, and competency and safety. Solving the puzzle of caring was theme five, as participants described learning through clinical experiences, both recognizing values and failing to see them demonstrated in nursing practice. Implications for nurse educators include values clarification and development, experiential teaching strategies, cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and conflict management. Inclusive workplace environments, where nursing and organizational practices reflect professional values, may enhance nurse satisfaction, recruitment, retention, and patient care. Further research is needed; strategies to enhance professional values development and core professional nursing values in different cultures warrant further study. Theories of nursing values that are culturally appropriate could be developed and tested. Implications for public policy include academic-practice partnerships, inclusive admission and hiring practices that promote diversity, and identification of common values in the profession.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The objectives of this study were threefold: (i) to investigate the effect of the replacement of pork fat with olive oil on the physico-chemical and sensory characteristics of ostrich polony; (ii) to investigate the effect of replacement of sodium tri-polyphosphate (STPP) with iota-carrageenan (CGN) on the physico-chemical and sensory characteristics of restructured cooked ostrich ham; and (iii) to investigate the effect of salt (NaCl) reduction on the physico-chemical and sensory characteristics of ostrich bacon. Five levels of olive oil were added to a polony formulation in 5% increments from 0 to 20%. Hardness, gumminess and shear force values decreased (P≤0.05) with increased levels of olive oil. The L* and b* values decreased (P≤0.05) with increased levels of olive oil producing lighter and more yellow products. Ostrich polony proved to have a favourable fatty acid profile in line with international recommended standards. A trained sensory panel found that the effect of increased levels of olive oil on had an effect (P≤0.05) on the sensory characteristics of colour; processed meat aroma and flavour; ostrich aroma; olive oil aroma; firmness and juiciness. A consumer panel found all the olive oil treatments to be acceptable. It can be concluded that olive oil can be used successfully for the production of low fat ostrich meat polony. In a restructured ostrich ham five decreasing levels of phosphate (0.7, 0.53, 0.35, 0.18 and 0%) were substituted with five increasing levels of carrageenan (0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4%). The cooked yield of the restructured ostrich ham decreased significantly (P≤0.05) with decreased levels of phosphate. No tendencies in instrumental colour measurements with relation to decreased levels of phosphate were revealed. Hardness, cohesiveness and gumminess increased with decreased levels of phosphate. Ostrich ham had a favourable fatty acid profile and the latter is in line with international recommended standards. The trained sensory panel found that decreased levels of phosphate had a significant effect on the ham sensory characteristics of meat aroma and flavour; ostrich meat aroma and flavour and mealiness, but no significant effect on the spicy aroma and flavour. Three ham treatments with different levels of phosphate (0.7, 0.35 and 0%) were presented to a consumer panel. The consumer panel found the ham treatments with levels of 0.7 and 0.35% most acceptable. Carrageenan can be used to substitute phosphate at a level of 0.35% phosphate and 0.2% carrageenan in ostrich ham. Ostrich bacon was produces with five targeted salt (NaCl) levels of 3.5, 2.75, 2.0, 1.25, and 0.5%. Decreased salt levels had no significant effect on the L*, a* and b* values of the five treatments. Ostrich bacon had a favourible fatty acid profile. A trained sensory panel found that the effect of increased levels of salt had a significant effect on bacon sensory characteristics of ostrich aroma and flavour smoky bacon aroma and flavour and saltiness. A consumer panel found all the bacon treatments acceptable, with 2.75 and 2.0% being most likable. It can be concluded that, from a technical point of view, the salt content in ostrich bacon can be reduced successfully to produce ostrich bacon with low salt levels, although consumer preference for salt remains high.

Background: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an accessible and widely used biomarker. NLR may be used as an early marker of poor prognosis in patients with COVID-19. Objective: To evaluate the prognostic value of the NLR in patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis. Observational studies that reported the association between baseline NLR values (ie, at hospital admission) and severity or all-cause mortality in COVID-19 patients were included. The quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS). Random effects models and inverse variance method were used for meta-analyses. The effects were expressed as odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Small study effects were assessed with the Egger's test. Results: We analysed 61 studies (n = 15 522 patients), 58 cohorts, and 3 case-control studies. An increase of one unit of NLR was associated with higher odds of severity (OR 6.22; 95%CI 4.93 to 7.84; P <.001) and higher odds of all-cause mortality (OR 12.6; 95%CI 6.88 to 23.06; P <.001). In our sensitivity analysis, we found that 41 studies with low risk of bias and moderate heterogeneity (I2 = 53% and 58%) maintained strong association between NLR values and both outcomes (severity: OR 5.36; 95% CI 4.45 to 6.45; P <.001; mortality: OR 10.42 95% CI 7.73 to 14.06; P =.005). Conclusions: Higher values of NLR were associated with severity and all-cause mortality in hospitalised COVID-19 patients.

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to explore the patterns of emotion recognition in Mexican bilinguals using the JACFEE (Matsumoto & Ekman, 1988). Previous cross cultural research has documented high agreement in judgments of facial expressions of emotion, however, none of the previous studies has included data from Mexican culture. Participants were 229 Mexican college students (mean age 21.79). Results indicate that each of the seven universal emotions: anger, contempt, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness and surprise was recognized by the participants above chance levels (p < .001), regardless of the gender or ethnicity of the posers. These findings replicate reported data on the high cross cultural agreement in emo- tion recognition (Ekman, 1994) and contribute to the increasing body of evidence regardingthe universality of emotions.
Este estudio presenta un meta-análisis sobre la relación entre los valores de Schwartz y el bienestar subjetivo en distintos contextos culturales, con estudiantes, sus familiares e inmigrantes en España. Los resultados confirman una asociación significativa entre los valores y el bienestar. Auto trascendencia y apertura al cambio, y con menor intensidad, conservación, se asocian positivamente con mayor bienestar. Auto trascendencia se asocia con felicidad y satisfacción de forma positiva no homogénea, siendo los inmigrantes quienes presentan medias más bajas. Apertura al cambio se asocia con felicidad, siendo más fuerte la asociación en inmigrantes que en estudiantes. Los valores conservacionistas se asocian homogéneamente. Un segundo estudio sobre criterios de salud psicosocial y bienestar subjetivo -analizando un país sudamericano colectivista y jerárquico como Brasil, y otro europeo más individualista e igualitario como España- confirma que los valores conservacionistas, así como los de apertura al cambio y auto trascendencia, son deseables y favorecen el bienestar.

Syftet med studien är att ta reda på pedagogers perspektiv och förståelse för hur barn blir bemötta enligt riktlinjer om normer och värden i den reviderade läroplanen för förskolan, Lpfö 98 (Skolverket 2010). Forskningsfrågor i studie är: Hur tolkar pedagoger läroplanens riktlinjer om normer och värden? Vilket förhållningssätt utifrån normer och värden använder pedagoger sig av i förhållande till barn i verksamheten? Hur kan pedagogers perspektiv av normer och värden uttrycka sig i praktiken? Undersökningen i studie grundar sig på en kvalitativ forskningsstrategi. Skriftlig intervju och observationer med nio respondenter och sju ostrukturerade observationer på flera förskolor. Av resultatet från de skriftliga intervjuerna ser vi att diskussion om normer och värden på förskolorna är viktiga för att få en förståelse för riktlinjer i läroplanen, Lpfö 98 (2010). Att visa respekt mot barn är något som pedagogerna ansåg vara viktigt. Vilket uttrycktes av pedagoger på olika sätt. Resultatet av vår studie i stort är att normer och värde upplevs som svårtolkat av pedagoger. Barn blir bemötta på olika sätt av pedagoger. Det är viktigt att pedagoger har förståelse för sin maktposition i förhållande till barn. Pedagogers bemötande och förhållningssätt har betydelse för hur barn upplever pedagogers maktposition.
The study aims to find out the teachers' perspective and understanding of how children are treated in accordance with guidelines on norms and values ​​in the revised curriculum for preschool, Lpfö 98 (National Agency for Education 2010). Research issues in the study is: How do you interpret educators curriculum guidelines on standards and values​​? Which approach based on norms and values, use the educators themselves in relation to children in preschool? How can teachers' perspectives of norms and values ​​express themselves in practice? The survey of study based on a qualitative research approach. Written interviews and observations with nine respondents and seven unstructured observations at several preschools. By the results of the written interviews, we see that the discussion of the norms and values ​​of the preschools are important for an understanding of the guidelines in the curriculum, Lpfö 98 (2010). To show respect towards children is something that teachers deemed important. As expressed by teachers in various ways. The results of our study in general is that norms and values ​​are perceived as difficult to interpret by educators. Children are treated differently by teachers. It is important that educators understand their position of power in relation to children. Educators approach and attitude influences how children perceive teachers' position of power.

This paper explores the value propositions that exist within ecosystems comprised of organizational and individual actors. The concept of value in general and how value is cocreated in multi-actor networks is explored by using service-dominant logic. The ecosystem is further framed by the intrinsic traits of digital technology as portrayed in The Layered Architecture of Digital Technology. Together, both of these framing conventions create what the paper refers to as a digital service ecosystem. In order to understand the important characteristics of a digital service ecosystem this paper analyzes a case study involving several actors participating in an ecosystem project in northern Sweden. This paper identifies six overarching themes that serve as the basis for three value propositions. A model is introduced as a way to simplify the understanding of each value proposition and how they interact with one another.

The values and motives behind e-Government projects are sometimes taken forgranted and are often considered as synchronised. Electronic archives can beconsidered a vital e-Government project, and the aim of this study was toinvestigate the values behind electronic archive projects for government agencies.This was achieved by investigating four different specifically chosen governmentagencies: three with electronic archives, and one without, and then assessing themusing the theoretical framework set out in Rose et al's article ’Managinge-Government’ published in Info Systems Journal in 2015: value position theory.The chosen government agencies were: Migrationsverket (the Swedish MigrationAgency), Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency), Energimydigheten (the SwedishEnergy Agency), and Sveriges Geologiska Undersökning (Sweden’s GeologicalSurvey- SGU). Interviews were conducted with those archivists responsible for theelectronic archives at each of these four public agencies. The results of theinterviews were analysed using the value position theory. As a result, severaldifferent values were identified, though the values attached to professionality andefficiency ideals were more identifiable in the interviews than the values attachedto service and engagement. The values guiding the electronic archive projects werefound to be largely congruent. However, these values are not necessarilyrecognised on the state level, as shown by the fact that Statens Servicecenter’sproject has ended without result.

Independent schools are a central issue in the school world, the perception of independent schools varies and many people express opinions about them in the media. An independent school is according to the National Agency a school that has a different principal than the county or municipality. Independent schools may not charge fees but their revenue comes from municipal grants from municipalities (Berglund 2007, p. 10). An independent school can be driven by an association, foundation or company and to run an independent school requires a permit from the Education Department. The purpose of this paper is to see how four principals at independent schools with a Muslim profile are working to strengthen their students’ Muslim identity in relation to the society they live in and how schools work with value issues. We also had the intention of studying the schools environment. To help us, we used the following questions: How does the school principal integrate different value issues? What are the principals’ thoughts on their schools work with their students before meeting with the community? What are the principals thoughts on the schools work to enhance their students’ Muslim identity? What is the purpose of the school profile? What is the environment like in and around the school? We have used interviews and observations as a method to find out how principals producing work at an independent school with a Muslim profile, and how they work with students’ identity formation. In this qualitative study, we have interviews with two principals and two assistant principals and observations from three of the schools. Based on our research, we have concluded that there is little to distinguish an independent school with a Muslim profile from a public school. Both are part of the Swedish school system, so they must follow the national curriculum, the time plan, and the Education Act. According to the principals that we interviewed, what distinguishes an independent school with a Muslim profile from a public school is that they serve halal food, girls and boys have separate PE lessons, they have one lesson a week for the school's profile subject (Islam or Arabic), schools have a prayer room that students can access throughout the school day and the school is closed during the Muslim feasts. According to the principals that we interviewed, the main reason for choosing an independent school with a Muslim profile should be because of the work in the schools that is based on building up students’ Muslim identity. They do this for the students meeting with the society they live in, if the schools have built up a solid cultural foundation of the students, the transition to the community much easier. In our social world is the view of knowledge, learning and parenting culture bound. Lahdenperä writes about "learning -through-culture" and with this she means that children learn through their own culture, that shapes them as individuals and through it they learn what is worth to know (Lahdenperä 2003). Our observations revealed various differences between the schools’; the most obvious difference was the religious texts and symbols that were on Sham School. Our observations also showed different connections between the schools’; one was that they were in abandoned buildings, mostly in industrial areas. Another clear connection between the schools was that all had prayer rooms and these floors were covered with a large red carpet. The prayer rooms looked exactly like they do in a mosque. The conclusion of our study is that despite the schools’ public profile, independent schools with Muslim profile, they educate their students in different ways and their priorities are also different. Thus, one can´t assume that all independent schools with Muslim profile works the same way. Just as in public schools, it is about what the staff at the schools believe that the schools purpose and also their efforts to achieve the schools different goals.

Value Stream Mapping ger en visuellt tydlig överblick av produktionen och innehåller information om lagernivåer, maskinernas takttid och omställningstid. Förutom detta kan även maskinernas tillförlitlighet återfinnas i rapporten tillsammans med den skiftgång som används. Rapporten innehåller bakgrunden till denna kartläggningsmetod samt varför Lean är applicerbart och dess fördelar detta ger. Rapporten förklarar de avgränsningar som gjorts, presenterar ett syfte samt en metod för att uppnå detta. I arbetet presenteras en studie på ett företag som refereras till ”Processindustri AB”, denna studie ger nödvändig information för att genomföra en kartläggning. Bakgrunden till arbetet var ”Processindustri AB”s långa omställningstider i produktionen där det finns flexibilitetsproblem som behöver lösas. Det finns problematik i materialflödet där ett tryckande flöde skapar stora mellanlager och lång genomloppstid. Material som får ligga i lager för länge kan få problem med oxidering av ytskikt, något som kan leda till att materialet skrotas eller att undermålig kvalitet uppmärksammas senare i produktionen. Målet är, med hjälp av en kartläggning och Lean, att effektivisera ett produktionsflöde och minska genomloppstider. Rapporten går in i detalj på vilken information som behövs och varför den är vital vid en kartläggning. Det presenteras även en förbättrad karta som syftar på att sänka genomloppstiden och minska lagernivåerna. Rapporten förklarar tankegångarna kring dessa förbättringar och de problem som sätter begränsningar. Genom att besöka företaget och följa de steg som kartläggningsmetoden föreslår har kartläggningen tagits fram. De problem som finns i produktionen har diskuteras med de anställda och även den inställning till förändringar som finns diskuteras i rapporten. De två kartläggningarna jämförs och fördelarna de föreslagna förbättringarna leder till listas. Resultatet diskuteras och summeras i en slutsats och arbetet granskas kritiskt. De slutsatser och potentiella resultat som togs fram genom denna studie redovisas i kapitel 5. Slutligen ges förslag på fortsatt arbete. Genom att applicera denna förbättringsstrategi kan stora potentiella förändringar genomföras för ”Processindustri AB” för att få en mer kostnadseffektiv och konkurrenskraftig produktion. Enligt den utarbetade framtida kartläggningen kan genomloppstiden för helstångsborr minska från 11,25 till 3 dagar. Konstänger kan minska från 10 till 4,33 dagar. Detta är ett resultat av minskade lagernivåer som hänvisas till figur 4 på sidan 15. För att kunna göra dessa förändringar krävs ett ökat leveransintervall från tre till fem dagar i veckan som dock påverkar tidigare produktion utanför området för denna studie. Dessa implementeringar skulle minska lagerbundna likvida medel från 2 772 000 kronor till 1 164 000 kronor. En minskning på totalt 1 608 000 kronor.
Abstract This report refer to a process industry mapping method called “Value Stream Mapping” aimed to increase the efficacy in the production chain applying the mindset of Lean Production. Value Stream Mapping provides a visually clear overview of production and provides information about stock levels, machine cycle time and setup time. Besides this, the machines' reliability is found in the report along with the shifts in use. The report provides the background to this mapping method and why Lean is applicable and the benefits this provides. The report explains the limitations made, presents a purpose and a method to achieve this. The report presents a study of a company that is referenced to “Processindustri AB”, this study provides the information necessary to conduct such a mapping. The background of the work was "Processindustri AB” 's long lead times in production and the flexibility problem that needs to be solved. There are problems in the material flow where a pushing flow creates big stocks between the processes and generates long lead times. Materials that may be in store for a long time may have problems with oxidation of the surface layer, which may cause the material to be scrapped or of inferior quality that is noticed later in the production chain. The goal is, by using mapping and Lean, streamlining the production flow and reduce throughput times. The report goes into detail on what information is needed and why it is vital for the mapping. It also presents a “future state map” aimed at reducing the throughput time and reduces inventory levels. The report explains the thinking around these improvements and the limitations made by practical problems. By visiting the company and follow the steps the mapping method proposed has the mapping established. The problems found in production have been discussed with the employees and also the attitudes to changes are discussed in the report. Finally the two mappings are compared and the benefits the suggested improvements will lead to are structured. The results are discussed and summarized in a conclusion and the work is critically examined. Finally, suggestions for further work are taken in consideration. The conclusions and the potential results that were developed through this study are presented in chapter 5. By applying this improvement strategy large potential changes can be implemented in “Processindustri AB” to get a more cost efficient and competitive production. According to the “future state mapping” the lead-time for “helstångsborr” can be reduced from 11.25 to 3 days. “Konstänger” can be reduced from 10 to 4.33 days. This is a result of reduced stock levels as referred to figure 4 on page 15. In order to make these changes an increased supply range from the supplier is require from three to five times a week. However, this will affect the production outside the extent of this study. These implementations would reduce the amount held in inventory from 2 772 000 SEK to 1 164 000 SEK. A decrease of total 1 608 000 SEK.

Abstract:
This is a qualitative interview study aiming to examine the concept of tolerance as it is a core value in the curriculum for the Swedish upper secondary school and high school. The concept of tolerance is linked to the subject of religious studies. A total of six teachers were interviewed regarding their understanding and interpretation of the concept, as well as its place in their teaching. The method of analysis was hermeneutic and the statements made by the teachers were further analyzed in the light of normcritical pedagogy and didactical awareness. The results show a diversified understanding of the concept, manifested in a broad scale of attitudes to it, ranging from negative to positive, though all were based on a reflective approach. This affected the teachers' tendency to include, or focus on, the concept of tolerance in their teaching, varying from active inclusion to exclusion. The discussion focuses on the differences and difficulties associated with acts of tolerance versus attitudes of tolerance. The teachers define religious studies as a subject with heavy focus on interpersonal relations. Acts of tolerance are therefore problematic as they are also acts of power between individuals and groups. This shows the didactical importance of discussing the concept of tolerance, mainly in relation to attitudes and acts, between teachers as well as in the classroom.

Purpose – The practical purpose of the study is to find an efficient logistics solution that takes in to consideration the cost, delivery performance and delivery quality for a furniture manufacturer. To fulfil the purpose three objectives have been formulated: To map a furniture manufacturer’s logistics flows and identify any potential wastes. To present an efficient logistics solution for a furniture manufacturer operating in the Nordic countries. To investigate the effect of outsourcing on delivery performance and delivery quality for a furniture manufacturer. The academic purpose of the study is to investigate if existing theories in Lean and value stream mapping can be applied to logistics flows to map and improve efficiency. This is fulfilled by achieving the first two objectives stated above. Method – In order to achieve the purposes literature studies have been conducted in order to give a theoretical background on the subject. A case study was conducted in order to test the theories against empirical data gathered at a furniture manufacturer. The empirical data was gathered by interviews and document studies. Findings – The furniture manufacturer’s logistics flows were mapped and evaluated using an improvement model from the Lean theory. The mapping identified a number of wastes and areas of improvement. A future state with a more efficient flow could then be stated. In order to implement the future state some logistics activities may need to be outsourced to a third party. By using evaluation tools a supplier may be selected without negative impact on delivery performance or delivery quality. Implications – The study has shown that methods for value stream mapping can be used in more areas than practiced today. By using Lean tools companies can identify wastes within their logistics processes and thereby achieve a more efficient management. Limitations – The scope of the study is relatively limited and for a more generalisable result additional flows at the studied company as well as other companies would have to be studied. When mapping logistics flows at international corporate groups a common strategy for streamlining flows is important already at the beginning of the improvement. The study was conducted at a distribution centre in Sweden and no consideration was taken to other parts of the group. Transports has traditionally been regarded as a non-value adding activity but in order to conduct the study transports had to be defined as value adding since distribution of products is necessary.
Syfte – Studiens praktiska syfte är att finna en effektiv logistiklösning som tar hänsyn till kostnader, leveransprecision och leveranskvalitet för ett företag inom möbelbranschen. För att uppnå syftet har tre delmål formulerats: Att kartlägga ett möbelföretags logistikflöden och identifiera eventuella slöserier. Att ta fram en effektiv logistiklösning för ett möbelföretag med tillverkning i nordiska länder. Att utreda påverkan på leveransprecision och leveranskvalitet vid outsourcing av logistikverksamhet hos ett möbelföretag. Studiens akademiska syfte är att undersöka om befintliga teorier inom Lean och värdeflödesanalys kan tillämpas för att kartlägga och förbättra effektiviteten i logistikflöden. Detta uppfylls genom att uppnå de första två delmålen formulerade ovan. Metod – För att uppnå syftena har litteraturstudier använts för att lägga en teoretiskt grund inom ämnet. Vidare genomfördes en fallstudie för att testa teorierna mot empiri insamlad hos ett fallföretag inom möbelbranschen. Empirin bestod av intervjuer och dokumentstudier. Resultat – Fallföretagets logistikflöden kartlades och utvärderades med hjälp av en förbättringsmodell från teorin. Kartläggningen visade på ett antal slöserier och förbättringsområden i flödet. Ett önskat framtida läge med ett effektivare flöde kunde därefter ritas upp. För att kunna genomföra det önskade framtida läget kan vissa logistikaktiviteter behöva outsourcas till en tredje part. Genom att använda verktyg för utvärdering kan leverantör väljas utan negativ påverkan på leveransprecision och leveranskvalitet. Implikationer – Studien har visat att metoder för värdeflödesanalys kan användas inom fler områden än vad som görs idag. Med hjälp av de verktyg som finns inom Lean kan företag synliggöra slöserier inom sina logistikprocesser och därmed få en mer effektiv hantering. Begränsningar – Studiens omfattning är relativt begränsad och för ett ännu mer generaliserbart resultat skulle fler flöden hos fallföretaget samt hos andra företag behöva studeras. Vid kartläggning av logistikflöden hos internationella koncerner är en gemensam strategi för att effektivisera flödena viktig redan vid starten av förbättringsarbetet. Studien är genomförd vid en logistikcentral i Sverige och hänsyn har inte tagits till övriga delar i koncernen. Transporter har i klassisk värdeflödesanalys betraktats som en icke värdeskapande aktivitet men för att kunna genomföra studien har de behövt lyftas till att vara en värdeskapande aktivitet som är nödvändig för att distribuera företags produkter.

This work is an essay on language, multilingualism, and identity. My purpose in this work was to try and explore how today's young people views in their native language, identity and language development in a multicultural society. I was also interested in how young people find a balance between two very different cultures. Since my work will be based on interviews, I have chosen a qualitative approach. My choice of the qualitative method is primarily related to my purpose. I chose the qualitative research because it goes in depth and try to describe why and how things happen. Qualitative research deal with, observational studies of various kinds, the interpretation of texts, interviews with individuals or focus groups In the interviews, the discussion is usually completely open and focuses on the participant's opinions, feelings, experiences, attitudes, etc. The purpose of qualitative research is to detect and identify the characteristics and nature drives with anyone. I also believe that the qualitative method leads me into close contact with my informants. My results tend to show that multilingual children and young people have a better ability to reach their states goals and think long term than those children who did not retain their mother tongue. The results of this work show that children who master their native language feel more comfortable in their surroundings, and the mother tongue has affected these young people's self-esteem and identity. The children who talked more than two languages had better language skills in their parents' native language than the adolescents who had difficulty mastering it.

Background: Individuals with intellectual disability are vulnerable to loneliness and face barriers and challenges when it comes to opportunities creating social relationships. Their social network are comprised mainly of family members and professionals. Working with individuals with an intellectual disability require interaction and creating a relationship. Professionals have a key role in supporting individual rights and opportunities regarding social inclusion. Purpose: The aim of this litterature review is to describe previous research of the professional relationship and attitudes when working with individuals who have an intellectual disability. This study aims to explore the meaning of the professional relationship and how professionals balance between what they want to do and what they can do within the professional relationship. Method: A qualitative approach was chosen, including a thematic content analysis based on 22 articles. Two main themes emerged: 1) The meaning of the relationship and 2) The professional framework. Result and conclusion: The professionals approach to the relationship, individual values and the organisational structure, affects how the relationship with individuals with an intellectual disability is established, shaped and managed. The professional framework involves power to shape the relationship and thus affect the individual rights and possibilites to social inclusion.
