Purpose: Nowadays, in the millimeter frequency range, the dielectric waveguides of various modifications have certain advantages over the standard metal waveguides, primarily due to the possibility of creating functional units based on them. This is due to the relative simplicity and low cost of manufacturing the dielectric waveguides and functional units using them, the high degree of their integration with active elements, the use in their manufacture of different dielectrics and polymers with a wide range of material constants and a variety of mechanical properties (in particular, some mate

Abstract:
This paper presents a numerical study of the quasi-resonant absorption of TE-polarized waves by a periodic structure of the metal-dielectric grating type on a dielectric substrate. The parameters of such a metal-dielectric grating, in particular the period, are chosen in such a way that no waveguide resonance occurs in the grating. The absence of resonance is evidenced by low fields at grating boundaries with homogeneous dielectric media. The quasi-resonant interaction is manifested under the condition that the real part of the zeroth harmonic of the Fourier series expansion of the dielectric

Simulation of electromagnetic wave propagation on layered metal-dielectric structures using analytical methods is a study that continues to be developed because it involves strict mathematical equations with exact results. In this study, the transfer matrix method was developed to analyze the dielectric-metal-metal-dielectric structure through the reflection profile. The emergence of the Surface Plasmons Resonance (SPR) phenomenon causes a minimum reflectance whose changes are analyzed through variations in optical and physical parameters. The simulation shows that the minimum reflectance angl

The characteristics of gap plasmon formed by nanoparticle-on-mirror (NPOM) structures composed of metal nanoparticles (MNPs) and metal thin films have aroused interest for use in various optoelectronic devices. The resonance enhancement characteristics in the gap region of an NPOM structure composed of gold nanoparticles and gold thin films are simulated theoretically by the finite element method (FEM). The resonant spectrum obtained by the internal coupling effect of the gap can be flexibly controlled by the polarization of incident light and the thickness of the dielectric layer between the

Abstract:
An electrodynamics calculation is performed for an infinite waveguide antenna array in the form of open ends of waveguides, in the near zone of which a metal-dielectric structure is located. This metal-dielectric structure is located in the "Floquet channels" and is a combination of a dielectric coating over the antenna array and horns. In this case, the horns are not a continuation of the waveguides, but are located at some distance from them. The space between the waveguides and the horns is filled with a dielectric.
