Unnecessary disconnections on surrounding electric mains should be avoided. In order to prevent this from happening, a so-called selective plan is drawn up. Abstract:
Abstract This paper addresses fundamental mechanisms of stress corrosion cracking by simulating the 3D distribution of electrical charge at the tip of a stress corrosion crack. Ledges and steps on freshly created surfaces interact with electrons that move about on that surface in an effort to maintain a net negative equipotential. Excess electrons stick to the ledges, creating nanoscale variations in electrical polarization of the metal-electrolyte interface. The excess electrons, responsible for the negative free corrosion potential, have a spatially varying density that supports local variat

Abstract This article deals with anodic dissolution and passivation of metals in relation to anodic inhibition of metallic corrosion. It is stressed that an adsorption of electrolyte ions on the metal surface plays vital roles in the anodic dissolution and passivation of metals. In particular, it is pointed out that the acid-base nature of metal’s surface or metal ions and ligands, is one of the important factors which controls the chemical stability of adsorption intermediates and metal-hydrated complex ions in solution. Furthermore, the roles of passivators in corrosion inhibition are discus
