The effect of potassium on the longitudinal muscle-myenteric plexus (LM-MP) preparation from guinea-pig was studied. The strips were exposed to elevated K+ (30 m M, 60 m M, 90 m M, 120 m M or 150 m M). Extended-spectrum β-lactamase and their molecular mechanism in Enterobacteriaceae were analyzed in 126 fish samples of 9 various wild species, living in the lagoon of Bizerte in Tunisia. Abstract An experimental study based on the acoustic emission technique was carried out to examine how the axiallity of the stress state, as first postulated by Troiano, influenced the hydrogen cracking kinetics, in terms of delayed hydride cracking (DHC) propagation, using constant K specimens machined from Zr-2.5wt% Nb pressure tube alloy, of 2 mm, 4 mm and 8 mm thickness. By changing the stress state from plane strain to plane stress at a constant applied stress intensity of 15 MPa√m and a hydrogen level of 50 ppm, the DHC velocity was reduced, in keeping with Troiano’s hypothesis. Abstract:

As a result of a wide front of filtered water through the outer slope of embankment at the tailing dump Valja Fundata, the dam became unstable in the Sector 6. The embankment no. 6 is almost along its entire length of about 1300 m, built with hydrocyclone sand to a designed level height of K+541 m with a design crown level width of 10 m, even more than that. In addition to the seepage of water, the sand suffusion from the embankment body appears in several places, where smaller or larger ravines are created due to the suffusion. This paper provides a solution to this problem.

Impact of argon nano-droplet on homogeneous platinum wall is simulated using molecular dynamics. Wall temperature (90 K, 300 K) and surface wettability (high, low based on εAr–Pt parameter) are varied to study four cases. An external force is applied on the drop for a short time period to achieve velocities in the range of 13 m/s – 15 m/s. Interface markers, interfacial fit and contact angles are evaluated. Tests are conducted on a newly developed 2-phase annular seal stand (2PASS) at the Turbomachinery Laboratory of Texas A&M University. The test fluid is a mixture of silicone oil (PSF-5cSt) and air. Two spargers are used to produce mainly-oil mixtures by injecting air bubbles into the oil flow. The critical heat fluxes (CHFs) of subcooled water flow boiling are systematically measured for the flow velocities (u = 4.0 to 13.3 m/s), the outlet subcoolings (ΔTsub,out = 3 to 129 K) and the outlet pressure (Pout = 800 kPa). The SUS304 test tubes of 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm in inner-diameter, d, and 33, 66, 99 and 133 mm in length, L, respectively for L/d = 11 are used. The CHFs first become lower and then become higher with the increase in subcooling. Abstract:

Abstract This paper presents a new method for producing high-energy pulsed plasma flows with a dc air torch and demonstrates its use in surface hardening and thermal spraying applications. The method employs electromagnetic plasmadynamics and is capable of generating high-frequency pulsed-periodic plasmas at atmospheric and high pressure. Plasma flow velocities of 3-5 x 103 m/s at temperatures of 15 x 103 K have been achieved.
