Abstract:
<strong>Abstract</strong><strong>. </strong>Association test is one of the traditional methods of studying the images of linguistic consciousness that hide behind a word in a particular culture. A number of associative experiments have been carried out in the early twentieth century in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and Germany. Students of higher education institutions of these countries (100 representatives from each nation) were the respondents of the experiment. The materials of the free word associatin test are used in the article. The article deals with psycholinguistic analyses of associative fields of the stimuli ПРИРОДА / ПРИРОДА / ПРЫРОДА / DIE NATUR demonstrating features of corresponding fragments of the mental and lingual worldviews of the Ukrainians, Russians, and Belarusians. The structure and composition of the associative fields is analyzed with the help of the “associative gestalt”. The gestalt structure of associative fields in each language clearly demostrate the differences in images of linguistic consciousness. The differences are seen in the different number of zones in four gestalts of studied languages, in the presence of some zones only in certain gestalt unlike others, in size of zones, that define their rating and originality of structure of each associative field, in quantitative and qualitative composition of zones as well as in the cores of gestalts.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to present the methodology of conducting associative experiments, which is used in their psycholinguistic research by scientists of Moscow International University, Voronezh State University and the “Laboratory of Cognitive Research of Consciousness named after Said Makhdikhon Sattorov”. This technique makes it possible to identify more or less frequent associations that are actually represented in the consciousness of native speakers (language consciousness), as well as to fix the associative norms of the national language within the framework of the corresponding (associative) dictionaries. The article presents the results of linguistic associative experiments conducted in Derbent in lecture halls of local universities. A list of 10 stimuli was used as a stimulus material. Based on the results of the experiments, associative fields of stimuli were constructed, which made it possible to identify the state of language consciousness of Derbent students.

Abstract:
The article highlights the role of the associative experiment in studying ethnic consciousness within the framework of modern anthropocentric paradigms. It is recognized as a method actively used in the comprehensive study of linguistic consciousness. Speaking about the problem of language and ethnicity, we will talk about its peculiarity in the cognition of the linguistic picture of the world. Taking ethnographisms as an object of study is an important factor in recognizing national and cultural characteristics. During the experiment, ten stimulus words from semantic groups of ethnographisms related to time, household items, distance and crafts were considered. During it, several groups of reaction words were identified, and their percentage indicators were differentiated. Based on the analysis, quantitative and qualitative characteristics of reaction words used as a feature and having an evaluative nature, forming one semantic field with stimulus words, were analysed. The collected materials show that the consciousness of Kazakh youth retains information formed in the traditions and way of life of the people. This allows them to recognize the model of the world, the conceptual picture of the world, and the national and cognitive features characteristic of society.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem and the purpose of the article. The development of language / speech ability is the basis for mastering any activity, especially educational one. Using the ideas of the Moscow psycholinguistic school, we believe the basic part of speech activity to be an internal or mental lexicon / vocabulary, allowing to simulate the language picture of the world, linguistic consciousness. Research methodology. The most effective way to study language consciousness, hence the internal lexicon, is the free association experiment (SAE). The experience of creating associative dictionaries as a result of mass association experiments is known in the world and in the country. The most famous associative dictionary in Russia is the Russian associative dictionary (RAS) 1994-1998. Since the end of the XX century, associative dictionaries for schoolchildren have been created in our country as a tool for studying the dynamic processes of the internal lexicon among schoolchildren of different age groups. Research results. The materials of the “Associative dictionary of Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren” as a model of internal lexicon allow us to study the reflection of thinking and understanding of the surrounding world by schoolchildren, the level of formation of cognitive structures. Psycholinguistic analysis of associative fields gives an idea of the level of formation of the conceptual apparatus, the image of the world. By analyzing associative fields as a fragment of the internal lexicon of a student of a certain age, you can plan activities to correct and develop the internal lexicon of a teenager.

Abstract:
The article describes a psycholinguistic experiment that examined the associative image of the Moon in the Chinese language consciousness. The objective of the study was to determine the associative content of the image, as well as the national and cultural grounds behind the internalization of its meanings. The free associative experiment was conducted in November 2022 and involved 550 students from 325 universities in China. The associative field was described using the semantic gestalt method developed by Yu. N. Karaulov. The data obtained were statistically processed using the SPSS 26.0 and Microsoft Excel 2016 software. These three methods combined provided a full description of the content and structure of the associative gestalt. The experiment confirmed the hypothesis that the Moon occupies a central position among the traditional symbols of art and literature. In the linguistic consciousness of Chinese youth, the type of association tends to be paradigmatic: they associated the image of the Moon with family and homeland. It also appeared to evoke a stable negative emotional evaluation. The association mechanisms were caused by both traditions and actual emotional states.

This paper deals with the psycholinguistic cognitive process investigation methods of text reception and the translation process, the free associative experiment, which can be seen as a complex investigation method. Its application is, thus, to be embedded in the translational experiment, from the perspective of translation polyvariety: Two German novel translations „The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov and „Doctor Zhivago" by Boris Pasternak are to be analyzed in the frames of the psycholinguistic experiment. The source of the translation polyvariability is the subjective character’s meaning interpretation, which is based on probabilistic processes and associative meanings. Emotions play an important role here. The empirical data obtained will be used for didactic purposes in the prospective translators´ training.

Abstract:
The associative technique is a traditional method to estimate a student’s foreign language proficiency. The aim of this article is to review the current methods for monitoring and assessing the level of foreign language proficiency of students; the arguments in favour of choosing the associative method of testing for knowledge of lexical semantics; and how assessments are conducted using this method through an associative experiment. The article is based on semantic analysis and field construction of the associative concept at the post-experimental stage. The experiment involved two groups of Ukrainian-speaking students studying German as a foreign language. Each group (control and experimental) consisted of 20 people. The results demonstrate that the assessment of the students’ linguistic and communicative competencies requires consideration of parameters in multiple aspects: paradigmatic, syntactic, syntagmatic relations; knowledge of typical idiomatic and phraseological correlations and all possible logical-associative relations. The experiment revealed shortcomings to include: contamination; weak knowledge of phraseology and moderate ability to establish logical relationships. In order to avoid the above shortcomings, there is a need to use associative experiment in foreign language learning and computer programs to achieve traditional associative learning methods. Lexical-semantic concept analysis revealed different content for semi-peripheral, peripheral and extreme peripheral zones. The article also outlines further promising areas of research, including psycholinguistic and metalinguistic ones. The research is potentially useful for the development of didactic computer programs, for the improvement of associative diagnostic methods in foreign language teaching, etc.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the comparison of associative fields, which differ in the time of fixation and by obtaining associative material. To compare the content of the associative fields, EDUCATION took an associative field from the Dictionary of Associative Definitions of Nouns of the Ukrainian Language in 1989, which was formed as a result of a chain associative experiment and an associative field obtained by a free associative experiment in 2007 and 2021. The results of the comparison showed that the core of associative value remained unchanged. The connotative fragment is represented to a greater extent by positively colored reactions in the two associative fields.&#x0D; In both associative fields EDUCATION is thought of primarily as higher with a repetition rate of 33. In the associative field stimulus EDUCATION, which we find in the dictionary, the most frequent reaction is also higher, but with a frequency of 184 times, which reveals the prestige of higher education among Ukrainians. In the associative field we find reactions with a negative value — insufficient (frequency 8), bad, dangerous, low, funny, poor. Instead, most reactions contain a positive assessment of good (6), high, sufficient, impressive, good, qualified, strong, necessary.&#x0D; In the associative field of 2007, evaluative reactions are presented much less often and exclusively of positive content (best, mind 4, grade). In our opinion, a large number of evaluative reactions in the associative field of 1989 is explained by the research method chosen by the researcher to collect associative material, namely to provide a definition of the proposed stimulus. "Types of education" and "Emotional vector" became similar vectors for both associative fields.&#x0D; Lexical associations are a certain concentration of mental, cultural, textual and other knowledge. The reactions detected by free and chain experiments testify to the values and opinions of the language community during the experiment. When comparing associative fields, one can observe the dynamics of changes in the conceptual system of society, because during life a person rethinks or receives new information that affects the nature of the association.&#x0D; The results of a free associative experiment can help to design and improve curricula for higher education students and take their interests into account. The results of the comparison of associative fields show first of all the coincidence of nuclear tokens in the structure of the word meaning.&#x0D; In the future, conducting psycholinguistic experiments with the word-stimulus EDUCATION will help to improve educational programs, to identify relevant knowledge for the implementation of educational initiatives. This is the perspective of our study. The influence of communication technologies on language consciousness in the educational environment. Therefore, we also consider it relevant to conduct research to compare the results of experiments conducted in the form of online and offline.

Abstract:
The object of the study is professional stress in the activities of Russian police officers. The subject of the study is the clarification of the concept of "professional stress" in the minds of police officers through an associative experiment. The purpose of the study: a comparative analysis of the severity of the categories of analysis of the concept of "professional stress" of Russian police officers of different generations. Research methods and empirical sampling - an expert method; an associative experiment conducted on a sample of 140 Russian police officers (70 people are 3-4-year cadets and 5th-year students of an educational organization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and 70 people are active police officers with more than 5 years of experience in the internal affairs bodies). Main conclusions: As a result of a free associative experiment on the phrase-stimulus "Professional stress", 541 associations were obtained. As a result of the expert method (expert design), 7 categories of analysis were identified that form the structure of the semantic field of the concept under study. The students revealed the predominance of the cognitive aspect (identification of the causes and consequences of occupational stress), and the older police officers revealed a focus mainly on the psychophysiological aspect (states and experiences) of occupational stress. At the same time, the older generation, unlike the youth, has a wider range of ways to manage professional stress and shows the existential aspect of professional stress (loss of meaning, awareness of the impossibility of change and unrealization). In the semantic field of the concept of "professional stress", non-organizational aspects have been identified that are not directly related to work, but affect the increase in professional stress and reduce labor efficiency.

Abstract:
The author offers an associative experiment as an effective means for identifying the psychologically relevant content of the word and its specificity in various languages. The comparative study of lexical units is usually based on explanatory dictionaries, which cannot fix the dynamics of language units connected to the oral activity of individuals. The author theoretically justifies the identification of a set of features of association, which make it possible to effectively compare the structure and content of associative fields of different words and languages. It is highlighted in the article that it is important to interpret the relation between stimulus and reaction, rather than the content of a particular associate. It allows us to offer fundamentally different parameters for creating associative fields of compared languages. The field is based now only on frequency of associates. The "stimulus – reaction" relation that is regarded as a verbal action makes it possible to actualize the motive of the verbal action in the semantics of associates. This allows us to clarify methods of identifying the personal meaning represented by the associate and to find out dominant features of the association that may become the basis for determining the semantic difference between meanings. The author sets parameters by which one can estimate how the meaning of a word of the compared languages changes. The parameters help to define: a decrease in the number of actualized semantic signs in different zones of the associative field; reduction of the diversity of reactions and the number of single reactions in the associative fields; the prevalence of the number of conceptual and operational reactions over emotionally evaluative reactions and reactions-conceptions; a decrease in the number of metaphorical and nationally specific or culturally significant reactions; changing of the positive connotation of a lexeme to neutral and negative; the number of rejections (in percentage correlation with the total set of associates).

Statement of the problem. This article traces the dynamics of the stereotypical component of the cultural and geographical image of Siberia in the linguistic consciousness of different generations of Russian students, which is conducted by benchmarking the data of free-associative experiments. The purpose of the article is to reconstruct the cultural and geographical image of Siberia in the linguistic consciousness of Russian students in order to reveal its possible dynamics. Methodology (materials and methods). Reconstruction of the cultural and geographical image of Siberia is conducted with the support of the free-associative experiment method with the utilization of three dictionaries of associative norms and data of the in-house experiment. Research results. Comparison of the associative fields’ main zones of the stimulus “Siberia” demonstrated a presence of not only certain concurrences but also significant changes in the content of association directions as well as their presence/absence in the linguistic consciousness of different generations of students. Conclusions. With the consistency of merely geographical perceptions of Siberia revealed among different generations of students, a notable dynamic of their culturological knowledge and phycological perception enclosed in the comprehensive cultural and geographical image of Siberia was distinguished. Abstract:
Associative experiments uncover people’s active attitude to the world represented by language means that determines their relevant strategies of verbal activity and mediates the specifics of their world conceptualization. A word’s associative field modeled on the basis of experimental data is a psychological structure of a word’s content that is relevant for native speakers. Associative meaning distinguished via the analysis of distribution of reactions to a stimulus word proves to be an effective method of discovering emerging trends in the change of word meanings. The author researches the issue of data interpretation in associative experiments. Despite the long history of usage, the notion “associative field” and the correlation of stimulus and reaction are often interpreted in different ways because, firstly, they model the most complex processes of speech activity; secondly, most of suggested typologies of associates do not have a common systematization criterion, which hinders the usage of such classifications in research practice and sometimes leads to an ambiguous interpretation of associative data. Therefore, the author argues that classifications of associates should be developed depending on: (1) characteristics of psycholinguistic/linguistic object researched through an associative experiment; (2) isomorphism of speech and the activity it accompanies; (3) characteristics of mental supports in the cognitive process; (4) the way of representation of these supports. Such criteria of classification require an analysis of the correlation between stimulus and reaction as a unit of association. This correlation is a separate speech act where the stimulus is a motive producing the reaction and the associate expresses the author’s communicative intention. This helps to establish motives of associating and thus acquire a more veracious database for modelling different components of speech activity and its overall production/ comprehension processes. Besides, this approach justifies the principles of worldview modelling. The author presents theoretical and methodological grounds for an effective analysis of associates on the basis of a psycholinguistic object defined by several parameters: strategy of association, dominant psychological function of a language sign that realizes the strategy and the motive of activity explicated in associates.

Abstract:
The article presents the description of the methodology of carrying out a discursive experiment as a consecutive study necessary for the expanding of a proper name discourse. Proceeding from the assumption that the proper name actualizes the onym discourse, the author put forward the following model of a discursive experiment: stage 1 – an associative experiment; stage 2 – dialogical text modelling; stage 3 – monological text modelling. The names of urban commercial objects (ergonyms) were selected as the material for the study. This group of onyms was chosen as one of the most frequently used in urban spatial discourse and functioning both in everyday and in institutional discourse. The associative experiment resulted in receiving the reactions, which represent the initial stage of onym discourse expanding. The derivational, paradigmatic and syntagmatic mechanisms were used at this stage. At the second stage, dialogical reactions were received. The communicative models of dialogue composition were conditionally divided into the models of opposition, comparison and dissemination. As a result of the third stage of the experiment, texts were received, mainly of a fantasy nature. The experiment proved that the proper name is not only an abridged text, but a compression of a variety of texts, which has the potential of unfolding in dynamics and creates a kind of discursive field of the onym.

In article the author addresses the problem of selecting the category as one of the ways of formation of public opinion by the media. Paper examines the image of a militiaman in the language consciousness of Russian-speaking respondents. Methodological basis of research includes comparative analysis of association and data dictionaries. The study was conducted based on the method of dictionary definitions and of the free associative experiment. The survey is based on the chain of the free associative experiment in homogeneous in age, educational and social structure of the group. The author presents a detailed classification of the received reactions in a number of cognitive traits and makes an attempt to interpret it. With this purpose we analyzed dictionary definitions of the word militiaman, belonging to the 19 and 20 centuries, and compared them with free associative experiment data. This article is the second one devoted to the analysis of the nominations of the parties to the Ukrainian conflict. In a previous article, the same methods was used to analyze psychological value of the separatist stimulus, which allows to compare images behind the two nominations - militiaman and separatist - used in the media when reporting on events in the South-East of Ukraine, and to attempt to associate the estimated value with the degree of clarity to the respondent in the present work.

Abstract:
The article describes the first stage of the realization of a complex psycholinguistic associative experiment in French and Russian. The aim of this experiment is to identify associative fields of words describing the attitude of young people towards multiculturalism, academic mobility and internationalization of higher education in target cities – Novosibirsk and Tomsk in Siberia (Russia), Montpellier and Bordeaux in France. The associative experiment will supplement sociological and other studies and will allow us to show the respondents’ naive views on various words describing certain aspects of students’ life. Associative experiments are considered to be a reliable method to identify conscious and unconscious meanings of words. Thus, the “language consciousness of the individual” (a concept introduced by Moscow School of Psycholinguistics, describing the language of an individual or a community from a psycholinguistic point of view) becomes visible to the external observer. The analysis of the most stable and repetitive reactions of a large number of participants makes it possible to infer the collective opinion. After processing the results of the experiment, a fragment of the associative network modeling the lexicon of French and Russian students in this subject area will be obtained.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study the problem of predicting new locations of groundwater in Jordan through the application of a proposed new method, Groundwater Prediction using Associative Classification (GwPAC). We identify features that differentiate locations of groundwater wells according to whether or not they contain water. In addition, we survey intelligent-based methods related to groundwater exploration and management. Three experimental analyses were conducted with the objective to evaluate the capability of data mining algorithms using real groundwater data from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. In the first experiment, we investigated the performance of GwPAC against three well-known associative classification algorithms, namely CBA, CMAR and FACA. Furthermore, three rule-based algorithms — C4.5, Random Forest and PBC4cip — were investigated in the second experiment; further, so as to generalise the capability of using data mining for solving the groundwater detection problem, four benchmark algorithms — SVMs, NB, KNN and ANNs — were evaluated in the third experiment. From all the experiments, the results indicated that all considered data mining algorithms predict locations of groundwater with acceptable classification rate (all classification accuracies [Formula: see text]%), and can be useful methods when seeking to address the problem of exploring new groundwater locations.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to describe the image of a modern official in the emerging professional linguistic consciousness of future managers. One of the productive methods for studying linguistic consciousness, including professional consciousness, is a psycholinguistic experiment. It is shown that in describing the semantic sphere of "Official", the results of the directed associative experiment significantly complement the data of the free associative experiment. The core of the associative field «Official» leads to power, civil servants (free associative experiment) and responsible, intelligent (directed associative experiment). It was revealed that the most voluminous thematic groups of the semantic sphere of "Official" according to the data of two experiments are: "Professional and personal qualities", "Opportunities provided", "Attitude to money", "Knowledge / skills", "Target purpose", "Attitude to the state". The free associative experiment describes to a greater extent the conceptual side of the lexeme official: an official is a person of a certain profession, a civil servant, a manager related to power, to money, a professional; can be corrupt. The reactions revealed by the directed associative experiment characterize the official in terms of personal (intelligent, honest, fair, cunning, etc.), professional (responsible, powerful, competent, professional, etc.), communicative (communicative, etc.) qualities and are primarily evaluative in nature.

Abstract:
The study reveals ways to identify and describe the psycholinguistic meanings of lexical units (on the example of the toponym "Vladikavkaz"). Psycholinguistic meaning is one of the types of meanings along with the traditional type of meaning such as lexicographic meaning. The lexicographic meaning consists of a small set of logically meaningful features that reflect described phenomenon. The lexicographic meaning is presented in classical explanatory dictionaries. It is formulated on the basis of the principle of reductionism (minimization of features included in the meaning). The psycholinguistic meaning is the meaning in the minds of native speakers. This type of meaning is presented in psycholinguistic dictionaries. The psycholinguistic meaning can be identified by various methods. An effective method for identifying and describing psycholinguistic meanings is a psycholinguistic experiment, in particular, an associative experiment that involves native speakers. Associative experiments were carried out by the Russian Voronezh theoretical and linguistic school in the Russian Federation. The subjects were native Russian speakers in the North Caucasus and Voronezh. Toponyms of the Russian language were used as stimulus materials – "Derbent", "Dagestan", "Moscow", "St. Petersburg", etc. The experiments identified a lot of associative reactions, the distribution of which made it possible to construct associative fields. The semantic interpretation of associative fields revealed the psycholinguistic meanings of toponyms. This article presents the results of semantic interpretation of associative reactions to the stimulus "Vladikavkaz", obtained in the experiments. The associative fields of the toponym are described. The semantic components of the toponym are identified. The psycholinguistic meaning of the toponym "Vladikavkaz" is formulated in two regional variants.

<em>The article reviews the literature, the main trends and prospects for building and, to a greater extent, evaluation of foreign language competence with university students in the context of modern neuroscience. For the first time, neuroscientific aspects in the now common methods of evaluation of foreign language competencies are determined and the expediency of using the associative method as an effective development and evaluative tool is substantiated. It is found that the neuro-approach at the level of linguodidactics in the evaluation and building linguistic and communicative competencies with students is possible with appropriate and methodically modeled actualization of logical-associative relations of free subjective meanings of words and obligatory (paradigmatic) meanings. The international significance of the article lies in its summary nature related to the methods of evaluating foreign language competencies, determining the relative universality and accessibility of the associative method as the most accessible of the neuro-oriented and accessible to the average higher education language teacher.</em>

The article presents an example of personality research with the help of the author’s psychosemantic technique “Color-associative experiment”, which is a combination of the method of free associations by C.G. Jung and the eight-color subtest by M. Lusher. In qualitative and quantitative data processing and interpretation, free and axial coding techniques are used, thanks to which the psychologist can get a complete impression of the current state of the respondent. These two projective techniques of grounded theory are the reason we can formulate now grounded psychodiagnostic conclusions in a consulting process. In the described examples of implementing the “Color-associative experiment” method, both respondents (a first-year master’s student and a final-year bachelor’s student) are characterized as a neurotic personality with an overestimation (or super-value) of the desire to achieve success.

The article provides a literature analysis on the problem of the formation of a communicative personality as an actual stage in the development of a linguistic personality. The definition of communicating personality and communicative personality concepts is given. The influence of the digital information environment on the nature of thinking and response of students in an associative experiment is described. The aim of the article is to describe the students’ communicative personality features which are revealed in the paremic discourse. The material of the study is neoparemia, a speech behavior product of the associative experiment participants. Neoparemias are presented in verbal and intercode form. The main research methods are theoretical (analysis of literature on the problem) and empirical (method of directed associative experiment). The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the communicative personality is studied for the first time from the standpoint of the analysis of neoparemias – products of the speech behavior of associative experiment participants. The results of the experiment can be useful for socio- and psycholinguists, as well as for communication science researchers and modern paremiology representatives.

This paper deals with the psycholinguistic methods of investigation of the cognitive process of text reception and the process of translation – the free associative experiment. The psycholinguistic experiment can be seen as a complex investigation method. The application of the psycholinguistic experiment is thus to be embedded in the translational experiment in the aspect of the polyvariety of translation: Two German translations of the novel The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov and the novel Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak are to be analyzed in the frames of the psycholinguistic experiment. The source of the polyvariability of translation is the subjective character of the interpretation of meaning, which is based on probabilistic processes and associative mean-ings. Emotions play an important role here. The empirical data obtained will be used for didactic purposes in the training of prospective translators.

This article is devoted to the study of the psycholinguistic perception of the pandemic by a special category – schoolchildren. Due to the fact that scientists note the need to comprehend and cognize a new reality unknown to most of humanity, it becomes important to study the impact of this situation on various age and social groups. A free associative experiment was chosen as a research method, since it is the simplest of all associative experiments and, at the same time, quite effective. It presents the results of a free associative experiment conducted among students from 12 to 17 years old. Responses to stimuli have been studied: quarantine, mask, social distance. The reactions obtained as a result of the experiment allow us to reveal the ideas and attitude of schoolchildren to the proposed stimuli. Thus, the respondents demonstrate the greatest loyalty to the observance of social distance, the informants show less loyalty to the mandatory wearing of a mask, and the associates to the «quarantine» incentive refl ect the negative perceptions of children about this restrictive measure.

The results of experimental study of common notion on stability (2015) were compared with those of analogous study (2002). The goal of the diachronic study carried out for 13 years apart was to find out common and specific features in the perception of stability by respondents, possessing identical sets of social characteristics. Integrated comparative-correlative study is done with the data of two experiments’ results: associative experiment and experiment with semantic differential method. The study manifested the nucleus of stability associative field representing consciousness constants and peripheral area, variable in terms of structure and quantitative filling. The analysis of the experiment results with semantic differential method made it possible to find out resemblance and differences in perception of stability and chaos by respondents. Undoubtedly, it is important for future study of Russian stabilization consciousness. The method of semantic differential as a psycholinguistic method and as a tool of this phenomenon of perception study revealed emotional evaluative constituent of stability common idea . The authors confirm the supposition made earlier about relativity of common notion on stability; gap between reality (societal and global stability – instability) and representation; on mythologization and ideologization of stability awareness.

One of the most popular methods of obtaining new ideas of shaping in design is experiment. The authors of the article also consider it to be one of the most effective forms of design education for students. In order to prove it and obtain new forms and methods of design training at the Industrial Design Department of the Institute of Design of the RSU named after A. N. Kosygin а pedagogical experiment was conducted. The experiment in design education was considered as a way to get new ideas in shaping of industrial products. In the course of the pedagogical experiment students used artistic images of wildlife for the formation of design objects based on associative-shaped modeling. According to the results of the pedagogical experiment, a new methodology of educational design in the direction of "Design" was developed, based on the principles of bionic shaping of objects of graphic and industrial design — by the method of associative-shaped modeling. The use of the developed methods resulted in the increase of the level of term and graduation projects of students of the Industrial Design Department, what was repeatedly noted by specialists in the field of design.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the analysis of the associative perception of proper names. The purpose of the article is to analyze the associative plume of proper names that mark the naming of cultural artifacts of the onymic landscape. Onyms belonging to pop culture were chosen as the object of research, and their associative plume was the subject. The material of the research was 97 reactions of 30 respondents, which were submitted to three stimuli: Mona Lisa, Star Wars, Eurovision. The research methodology consists of conducting a free associative experiment with selected onyms-stimuli and analyzing the results of the experiment using the semantic gestalt of the associative field method. Reactions to the stimulus are naturally grouped around certain fragments of the conceptual picture of the world, which are reflected in this associative gestalt. Each stimulus formed a two-fold core of a semantic associative gestalt. The isomorphism of the core structure of associative gestalts does not deprive them of their originality, which is manifested in the potential of the dominant gestalt, which we associate with the fact that each cultural artifact has a multi-component structure that cannot be reflected only in a single associative plane. The distribution of onymic reactions also has a certain isomorphism: in all associative fields, anthroponymic reactions that nominate both real and virtual denotates prevail, which can be interpreted as a manifestation of the culture of participation, because in the picture of the world, the main initiator and participant of events is a person. In this way, the concept of anthropocentrism is actualized in modern Ukrainian society, which at the same time realizes and identifies itself through the prism of cultural artifacts, proper names, and a complex of memes. The respondents of the experiment were the representatives of the new generation, and their cultural picture of the world and its onymic part demonstrate commitment to tradition and, at the same time, the realization of their new understanding. All this allows us to assert that with the help of a free associative experiment it is possible to record cultural evolutionary progress.

At the same time on the basis of brightness indexes ranking according to decreasing principle, the core and the periphery of the associative concept area have been established, as well as the fact that associates give wider and more divers meaning spectra. It was established, that the associative configuration UNIVERSITY is a kind of recurrent sign that is not fixed in the dictionaries and represents the meaning «emotive evaluative characteristic». Abstract:
The novelty of the research is stipulated by the fact that at present no comprehensive psycholinguistic analysis of doctors’ communicative approach in relation to the subject, object, place of communication and the communicative event itself has been conducted. The issue of applying the associative experiment to explicate doctors’ communicative intentions has also remained beyond the scope of scientific research. This paper addresses the question of the relevance of key concepts’ associative fields representing a typical communicative situation in professional discourse to identify the communicative intentions of workers engaged in the doctor-patient relationship. The associative fields of key concepts conditioning the doctors’ communicative intentions in the field of pediatric cardiology have been studied in thorough detail. The associative experiment stimuli included: patient, doctor, cardiology, cardiac surgery department, congenital heart disease (CHD), surgery. These words and word combinations describe: 1) agents of medical communication (patient, doctor); 2) place of communication (cardiac surgery department); 3) subject area (cardiology); 4) subject of communication (CHD, surgery). The general sampling of the research comprised 300 associations to the proposed stimuli. As the study indicated, when modeling a typical communicative situation in cardiologist professional discourse important are: the persons involved (subject and object); qualities; tools / objects used in a communication situation; actions performed by communicants; as well as the evaluation of the communicative situation. Among other things, the presence of evaluative reactions (positive or negative) makes it possible to exclude the emotional burnout syndrome (emotional detachment) of the doctor which is characterized by muffled emotions, smoothing out the sharpness of feelings and experiences, and the absence of an emotional response. The basic method of this research is a chained association experiment with the registration of all associations of the respondents. The obtained data were interpreted with the help of Y. N. Karaulov’s semantic gestalt method. The hypothesis about the effectiveness of the associative experiment in identifying the doctors’ communicative intentions as well as in monitoring the evaluative component of these in professional medical communication has been confirmed.

Purpose. General aim of this article is the structuring of the functional-semantic field of color terms in the Kazakh language.Results. The article analyzes the experimental results obtained during the psycholinguistic association experiment (AE) conducted in 2021 with students being native Kazakh speakers. The Almaty Corpus of the Kazakh language was used for determining the frequency of basic adjectives in the Kazakh language. There were assigned 8 lexemes as basic color terms in the Kazakh language: қara ‘black’, ақ ‘white’, kok ‘blue’, kyzyl ‘red’, sary ‘yellow’, қоңыр ‘brown’, zhasyl ‘green’ and sur ‘grey’ ‒ on the basis of their frequency, non-derivation, transparency of lexical meaning, wide compatibility with words of different semantic classes and word-formation productivity. The conducted associative experiment was aimed to identify the standards of basic color designations rooted in the linguistic consciousness, as well as the respondents' original reactions to color.Conclusion. The application of the associative experiment revealed the features of the linguistic picture of the world of the Kazakhs in terms of the color representation of reality. The use of AE made it possible to obtain information about different levels of color awareness, which allows clarifying and verifying one of the possible ways to study color designations. A significant proportion of stable associations lie in the emotional, spiritual and intellectual spheres, whereas objects of the environment acting as standards for color values are represented by a large number of single, individual associations.

Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the problem of semantics of proper names. Nowadays, in linguistics, there are different points of view on the nature of the semantics of proper names. This paper states the discovery of a new kind of meaning of proper names - psycholinguistic. This concept is based on the use of experimental methods for studying the meanings of words, which involves an appeal to the consciousness of native speakers. Psycholinguistic experiments were carried out by us in Voronezh. Subjects - 330 students. The method of free and directed associative experiment was used. Various toponyms (“Moscow”, “St. Petersburg”, “Volgograd”), including “Voronezh”, were used as a stimulus material. According to the results of experiments on the stimulus “Voronezh”, a total of 1,055 verbal associative reactions were obtained. Then the semantic interpretation of associative reactions was carried out, which consists in understanding the reactions as linguistic representations of certain signs of the denotation - semantic components. As a result, the psycholinguistic meaning of the toponym “Voronezh” was formulated, which is very different from its meaning in toponymic dictionaries. We call this new kind of meaning psycholinguistic.

Abstract:
Media is an important component of the information society. The need to protect the territorial sovereignty of Ukraine after the full-scale invasion of the aggressor state, countering the hybrid war increased the importance of mass media. The object of our research is the associative image of the key concepts of the media industry - media and journalist, in particular, semantic shifts in these words, new connotative layering in the collective consciousness of Ukrainians. The purpose of the article is to analyze the associative images of the media and the journalist in the language picture of the world of higher education graduates of pedagogical specialties; on the material of a free associative experiment, associative fields of stimulus words were constructed, the most frequent, repeated and single associates were singled out and characterized. A free associative experiment was chosen as the main research method to collect reactions to stimulus words; descriptive and structural methods were used to analyze the associative field of the words media and journalist; statistical – for processing the obtained results, establishing the quantitative characteristics of the elements of associative fields. Results. The most frequent associations recorded because of the experiment are only partially correlated with the lexicographic characteristics of the stimulus words. Repeated reactions of future teachers represent semantic shifts in relevant concepts and connotational layering, which are relevant in the language consciousness of students of higher education. The associative fields of lexemes consist mainly of single reactions, a small number of which reflect the realities of martial law and well-known media figures. Such results of the associative experiment indicate the need to adjust and deepen the work with future teachers regarding the understanding of the information space, structure and content of the media. Originality. The relevance of our research is determined by the fact that the concepts of media and journalist are socially significant; they belong to the active composition of the lexical system, actualized in language practice by complex transformational processes in society. Among 262 reactions to the media stimulus word, 122 different associates were established. Modern lexicographic sources and industry reference publications equate the concepts of media, mass media. The associative image of the media in the language consciousness of future teachers primarily relates to information and channels and methods of its transmission, a significant part of the participants of the experiment expanded the concept. The associative field consists mainly of single reactions (79.5%). As a result of the free associative experiment, 286 word-reactions to the stimulus word journalist were obtained, of which 167 different associates, the most frequent reaction is news, single reactions make up 85.6% of the associative field. Repeated associates represent the image of a journalist in the language consciousness of future teachers, highlighting the conditions of professional activity and its results. The researched associative fields represent social stereotypes in the assessment of the media and the journalist.

Abstract:
Introduction The associative approach to the study of the meaning of the word is nota new one in psycholinguistics, however, having received a positive assessment of leading scientists,it still remains in the priority areas of semantics research next to the parametric, feature, prototypeand situational approaches. Scientists use it both for revealing the ethnocultural specificity ofthe image of the world of representatives of various ethnoses, and for a comprehensive analysisof the meaning of the word of a certain language. We used both perspectives of research in ourprevious scientific studies. In this article we present the results of directed associative experiments, that were held at the beginning of the XXI century in Ukraine. Purpose. The purpose ofthe study is to reveal the structure of the associative value by the example of the associative fieldsof the stimulus FRIEND in the Ukrainian language. Methods. The main methods of researchare descriptive, structural (component analysis), associative experiment (directed), “associativegestalt”. Results. The psycholinguistic analysis demonstrates the structure of associative fieldof the stimulus FRIEND, obtained as a result of conducting of the directed associative experimentsas for the selection of definitions and comparisons. The placement of zones and their filling showthe main association strategies that we consider as specific components leading in determiningof the associative meaning of the word, in the formation of images of the linguistic consciousnessof Ukrainian respondents. Conclusion The study of the meaning of the word on the materialof lexicographic sources and a number of associative experiments that were applied to a specificword-stimulus is justified and necessary for the comprehensive identification of semantics.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to an experimental study of assimilation, storage and functioning features of homonyms in the Ukrainian speaker’s lexicon. One of the effective methods of researching homonymy is an unbound nonrestrictive associative experiment which allows to deepen the knowledge about the assimilation, interpretation, compatibility, functionality and use, including false ones, of homonyms in speech. The main object of analysis was the speakers’ associative reactions to homonymous stimuli obtained during a unbound associative experiment. The content and structure of the associative meaning of lexical homonyms, the types of verbal associative connections of stimuli-homonyms and words-reactions are studied. The analysis outcome of the obtained associative reactions establishes that the number and nature of associative reactions are determined by the degree of relevance of homonymous stimuli for informants. Homonymous stimuli evoke more paradigmatic associative reactions than syntagmatic ones in informants for whom this language is native. There have been identified the factors affecting the actualization (manifestation in the informants’ reactions) of a certain component of the homonymous group. The informant’s age and knowledge of different languages significantly influence the association process. The most frequent were attributive reactions caused by characteristic features of the object such as quality, property, function, significant detail for the speaker, etc., and situational ones where reactions associated with a certain situation or its component. Subjective-definitive reactions containing an explanation of the stimulus word, were also numerous. The strategies of associating homonymous stimuli caused by the influence of age, gender and other informants’ characteristics are analyzed. Due to experimental studies, the homonymy phenomenon receives a more extended interpretation than presented in lexicographic sources.

Abstract:
Multimodal identification, which exploits biometric information from more than one biometric modality, is more secure and reliable than unimodal identification. Face recognition and fingerprint recognition have received a lot of attention in recent years for their unique advantages. However, how to integrate these two modalities and develop an effective multimodal identification system are still challenging problems. Hetero-associative memory (HAM) models store some patterns that can be reliably retrieved from other patterns in a robust way. Therefore, in this paper, face and fingerprint biometric features are integrated by the use of a hetero-associative memory method for multimodal identification. The proposed multimodal identification system can integrate face and fingerprint biometric features at feature level when the system converges to the state of asymptotic stability. In experiment 1, the predicted fingerprint by inputting an authorized user’s face is compared with the real fingerprint, and the matching rate of each group is higher than the given threshold. In experiment 2 and experiment 3, the predicted fingerprint by inputting the face of an unauthorized user and the stealing authorized user’s face is compared with its real fingerprint input, respectively, and the matching rate of each group is lower than the given threshold. The experimental results prove the feasibility of the proposed multimodal identification system.

Abstract:
The study is devoted to the problem of using associative experiment in the context of educational system management. The method of associative experiment is considered as a tool for diagnosing implicit cognitive structures of participants in the educational process, providing objectification of latent representations and identification of communicative barriers. The purpose of the study is a comprehensive analysis of methodological approaches to conducting an associative experiment and determining its potential for optimizing management processes in educational organizations. The research methodology was based on the integration of a free, directed and chain associative experiment with elements of a semantic differential. The empirical base consisted of data obtained from 427 respondents (students, teachers, management staff) in the period 2021-2023. The results of the study revealed statistically significant differences in the associative fields of key pedagogical concepts between different groups of participants in the educational process (differentiation coefficient K=0.67, p&lt;0.01). A correlation has been established between the consistency of associative fields and the effectiveness of intra-organizational communication (r=0.72). A method for diagnosing organizational culture based on an associative experiment (integral relevance index IR=0.83) has been developed and tested. The introduction of the associative experiment model into the management decision-making system increased their validity by 21.4%. The results obtained expand the theoretical understanding of cognitive mechanisms in educational systems and offer specific tools for improving educational management practices.

Abstract:
As complex phenomena of social and cultural experience, sociocultural stereotypes manifest in behavioural, material and verbal spheres. Notable advances in the study of various aspects of sociocultural stereotypes in humanities have not eliminated the necessity of their study in research paradigm of cognitive-linguistics that incorporates psycholinguistic methods within interpretative framework. An in-depth study of sociocultural stereotypes requires rigorous empirical investigation of language evidence received from competent speakers in experimental situations. The experimental work provides a high level of empirical accuracy to verify emotional evaluation and pragmatic presuppositions conveyed by sociocultural stereotypes. The aim of this study was to unveil the meaning of a sociocultural stereotype flapper in contemporary culture and to model its cognitive structure on results of associative experiment. This sociocultural stereotype was chosen for its importance in changing standards of women behaviour in modern American culture. Flappers were young and daring American women, whose look and behaviour were criticised rigorously by traditionalists. An associative experiment conducted in the Lock Heaven College of Pennsylvania University showed the stereotype of flappers, though emerged in 1920s, still exists in national consciousness as a stereotypical image and a symbol of the epoch. The work contributes to the methodology of systematising experimental data in cognitive-linguistic research.
