Abstract:
The article deals with the stylistic specificity of journal text of the second half of the XVIII century, published by N. I. Novikov. The author identifies linguistic and compositional features in the comparison with the modern style model of publicism. The author analysed the dominant features of the texts: dialogicality, educational function, and the synthesis of pedagogical and publicistic discourse. The study focuses on the stylistic uniqueness of the titles and emphasizes that the specificity of N. I. Novikov’s journalistic language was determined by his linguistic personality, as well as by the target settings of informing the reader. The research method included analyses of thematic, compositional, factual, and modal types of information content of the media text. A semantic and stylistic analysis of headlines made it possible to define the following types: plot, nominative-ascertaining, genre, spatial, precedent, and address headlines, which had an informative function and penetrating boundaries. Analysing the expressive resources of the texts, the author observed the specifics and typical use of Novikov’s idiostyle. The strengthening compositional element of the analysed texts is the image of a real individual author, implemented in various textual images and actualised in the context of the stylistic effect of dialogicality. The field of application of the research results includes stylistics and rhetoric.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the coverage of methods of formation of stylistic culture of performance of musical works at future teachers of musical art. Attention focused on the practical advantages of the proposed methods. The use of methods of sketchy-stylistic processing of musical material, stylistic analysis and stylistic comparisons, as well as the method of variant-stylistic processing of music in systematic interaction contribute to the expansion of musical-cognitive capabilities of students, activation of their evaluative-interpretive actions and creative self-expression. The practical solution of the problem of formation of stylistic culture of performance of musical works of students provides expansion of musical-theoretical erudition of students in the historical-stylistic aspect; strengthening the analytical and evaluative orientation of stylistic elaboration of educational material, stimulating future teachers in the process of interpreting music to creative self-expression on the basis of deep comprehension and adherence to the stylistic basis of the composer's work. An indispensable condition for stylistic analysis is the consideration of stylistic features of the form of a musical work in unity with the stylistic characteristics of its figurative content. The practical application of stylistic analysis also takes into account the influence of the historical context of the development of musical culture on the stylistic features of composer's thinking, reproduced in music. The article presents an analytical understanding of scientific and methodological literature, the results of executive training of students, analogies, comparison of experimental data, modeling, generalization. Methods and techniques of formation of stylistic culture of the future teacher of musical art in the course of performance of musical works are offered. The need for further research in identifying methods and techniques for forming a stylistic culture of future teachers to perform works of school repertoire emphasized.

Abstract:
In modern media, materials which are characterized by skillful organization of language tools to reveal the topic and focus on the recipient, are highly valued. Having professional journalistic skills and a thorough knowledge of the language helps to create texts according to such requirements. Actual in this context is the formation of skills in the years of study related to the observation of the linguistic and stylistic skills of practicing journalists. The purpose of the article is to present the sequence and example of linguistic-stylistic analysis of a journalistic text to clarify the place and role of word-forming and morphological means that form the semantic background and communicative orientation of the message. Methodological bases of linguistic and stylistic analysis of word-forming and morphological means are a set of approaches that take into account: selection of the publication according to certain criteria (relevance of the topic, genre, authorship, etc.); the structure of tokens and grammatical features of individual parts of speech that create the semantic and stylistic expressiveness of a particular journalistic text. Among the research methods are linguistic analysis, compositional-textual and functional-semantic analysis, the method of establishing semantic-functional paradigms, the quantitative method, and others. Results of the research. A linguistic and stylistic analysis of O. Suprunenko’s publication «Chym Pakhne Yevropa» («What does Europe smell like?») (Post-Postup. 2008) demonstrates the course of consideration of word-forming and part-of-speech means of a professional text; shows a way of coherent and consistent presentation of their own observations and opinions. In the analyzed text there is objective information, which includes specific names, words with direct meaning, construction terminology, quotes. Subjective information is the author’s reasoning about the topic covered. The tone of its disclosure is informative and skeptical, which aims to provoke a corresponding reaction from the reader. Stylistic originality of the presentation of the theme is manifested in the use of appropriate linguistic and stylistic means: individual innovations, the expressive potential of grammatical categories of nouns, adjectives, verbs, as well as in the creation of ironic imagery. Stylistic analysis of the text by language levels is an effective means of forming language and speech competence, as it develops the skills of identifying stylistic means in the text and determining their functions to reveal the author’s intention. This form of work also has a research and creative purpose, as it encourages careful study of the stylistic potential of certain means of speech and independently explain their feasibility in a particular text.

Specialized news broadcasting is of particular interest and it needs to be studied. The subject of the article is the content-thematic and stylistic features of news and information-analytical programs on the Kultura (Сulture) TV channel. The research is based on the method of content analysis, linguistic methods of analysis. As a result, the content and thematic features of information broadcasting in the field of culture have been revealed. The topics of the TV channel programs are diverse; they include such types of art as theater, music, literature, visual arts, cinema, etc. By topic and modality, news stories are divided into news itself, news announcements, and news retrospectives. «News of Culture with Vladislav Flyarkovsky», as constants of information and analytical television, retaines emphasis on the presenter’s strong authorial position, depth of topic coverage, a desire to comment on a phenomenon or event, to assess it, and reveal it from all sides. The communicative and stylistic design of the final program is conditioned, on the one hand, by the format of news broadcasting, on the other hand, by the theme (in the speech of journalists the vocabulary of art history, culturolog- ical and philosophical discourses prevail; restraint, intimacy, emphasizing the importance of cultural facts is combined with analyticism, emotional and evaluative nature of information presentation). The revealed features make it possible to talk about a special television format such as symbiosis of cultural and educational journalism, and information journalism.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem. The article examines the content of the spirituality concept, formed by the explanatory dictionaries of the modern Russian literary language; the change in its (concept) functional-stylistic lexicographic qualifications as a reflection of the change in value orientations in society. The purpose of the article is to study the lexicographic history of the spirituality concept in a comparative analysis of different dictionaries. The research methodology is based on the comparative method, contextual and, above all, lexicographic analysis of the main explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language. Research results. The study showed that there is no strict unification in the interpretation and functional-stylistic qualifications of the concept under study in the explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language. Conclusions. In modern domestic explanatory lexicography, there is no unified approach both to understanding the content (interpretation) of the spirituality concept, and in its functional and stylistic qualifications. The author’s contribution consists in a large-format (all the main explanatory dictionaries of the modern Russian language) and a very detailed study, which has not been carried out earlier in relation to this very concept.

Abstrack. Style of language can be interpreted as an individual way of expressing ideas or characteristics of how individuals communicate. A politician has his own style, even the head of state, community leaders and even writers. The essence is that nothing is really the same in someone's style, both when speaking and writing. In stylistic studies it is often referred to as a linguistic approach to literature, because literature is inseparable from the medium of language. This paper will discuss the style of language in the lyrics of the song Berkelana ke Ujung Dunia by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Song lyrics are considered to be the same as poetry, so the study of song lyrics is right using stylistic studies with the method of content analysis. Abstract:
Introduction. Up to date, the situation in the Ukrainian media space has not changed dramatically from the Soviet Period. This gives wide possibilities for variations to manipulate the minds of the audience, a large part of which is made up of people of 55 years of age who are accustomed to reading and trusting the press. Accordingly, the study of the relationship between the audience’s trust in the journalistic publication and the manner of presenting news of the specified category of the population will enable to form ways of introducing media literacy for different categories of society, which is relevant today. Significance and purpose. In our study, we analyze the reactions of this audience as it is the part of the active population that in one way or another influences the formation of conscious perception of the surrounding reality of modern youth. The purpose of the study is to research the relationship between the stylistic marking of the text and the audience’s confidence in the information presented in the publication (based on the analysis of regional periodicals 1943-1960). Research methods. During the study such methods as surveys (oral and online surveys) were used to examine the audience’s response to texts of different styles, content analysis, which analyzed the frequency of use of satirical-humorous genres, stylistically labeled vocabulary and religious imagery for criticism/condemnation of those people or phenomena that did not fit into the criteria of the USSR; genre, stylistic and semantic analysis. Results. The analysis of the period 1943-1960 showed that in the newspaper “low” style was used to ridicule those who did not fit into the Soviet system of vision of the state and citizens in the state. As a result, a population of 55+ (experimentally confirmed) formed a well-founded distrust of information presented in a satirical form. This makes it possible to predict the effectiveness and efficiency of journalistic materials. Conclusion. Selected publications analyzed that the Soviet print periodicals clearly distinguished the manner of presenting information about the so-called «positive» and «negative» heroes. At the same time, the survey revealed a tendency of public confidence in the information that does not contain stylistically marked vocabulary. Accordingly, we can say that stylistic marking of the text is one of the methods of manipulation of public opinion. Prospective for further research. Studying the peculiarities of the perception of newspaper texts by different categories of the population is a prospect for further research. Abstract:
Biographies are used in teaching a wide range of subjects, thus representing a universal type of material that can be valuable in a TESL classroom. The benefits of this study bear relevance to assessing writing strategies that may be used by experts in a variety of fields of inquiry. The article focuses on assessing stylistic variation in biographical texts in English, using the material of a number of highly acclaimed biographies of Sir Winston Spencer Churchill written by the authors for whom English is their first language. The article contains an analysis of the conceptual and linguistic parameters of stylistic variation in these biographical texts. It considers a number of linguistic levels: morphology and vocabulary, in connection with the kinds of inherent and adherent connotations conveyed. Minor and major kinds of syntax are studied in relation to the stylistic neutrality and non-neutrality of the units under study. The functioning of nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs is analyzed in order to establish the type of general conceptual characteristics the texts demonstrate. A specialized and non-emotional type of content is based on the predominance of formal specialized connotations; an emotional and nonspecialized type of content is, on the contrary, constituted by emotional, expressive and evaluative connotations. The analytic technique developed shows that there is correlation between the conceptual characteristics of a biographical text and the kind of argumentation it contains. The specialized and non-emotional type of content correlates with arguments supported by factual data; the emotional and non-specialized type corresponds to arguments eluding references to other sources. The results of the analysis undertaken can be applied to designing courses on stylistics of the English and otherlanguages. Also, they can be used to outline a writing strategy for professional journalists, historians, writers, politicians, economists, etc. Purpose: to consider different linguistic levels, analyzing the functioning of nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and syntactic constructions – in relation to the type of content they serve to convey (emotional / non-emotional, specialized / non-specialized). Results: the analysis shows that the emotional and expressive qualities of biographical texts are inversely proportional to the amount of explicit facts they contain, i.e. the more informative and logically structured a biographical text is the less the author tends to be emotionally involved in the account of events, and vice versa. This analytic technique can be further developed with the methods of applied (computational) linguistics. Conclusion: a connotation-centered approach to studying the quantitative and qualitative properties of biographical texts can be successfully applied to teaching and studying authentic biographies, and may be extended to analyzing texts of other genres and styles.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to analyze and develop stylistic features of L. Beethoven's sonata cycle for a more accurate reproduction of the play's dramaturgy. The following research methods are used in the work the next. There are historical and cultural approach (research and analysis of works dedicated to L. Beethoven's creative heritage); method of comparative style analysis and general system-structural approach (comparing the problem of the era and its development); the traditional method of source studies as a historical discipline (the work is based on existing sources). Scientific novelty is to identify the peculiarities of creativity and specific performance of works by L. van Beethoven, from the point of view of the contemporary performer, characterizing the attitude of the composer to accurate performance, classification of means of expression and their use precisely when performing works on the piano. Conclusions. From the very beginning of the work on the sonatas, the pianist should pay attention to the stylistic features of the performance of Beethoven's sonatas. Taking a leading role in the study of the author's text, stylistics gives the work a unique sound, and the skill and the right approach maximize the performer of the playwright's reproduction of the play. Getting acquainted with Beethoven's sonatas requires a meticulous attitude to the applicative, dash dynamic notes and pedalisations written by the composer himself. The unity and interaction of the means of musical expression, such as: dynamics, fingering, pedaling and strokes, plays a special role in the performance of L. Beethoven's sonata cycle and brings the pianist closer to the most accurate transmission of the composer's creative intent. Condemning the carelessness of the execution of the author's instructions, Beethoven requires not only accurate, but above all expressive of their execution. Thus, the composer draws the artist's attention to their content.

Abstract:
This research aims to identify the role and place of the ideological concepts of the “Eternal Nation” and “The Great Steppe” in Kazakh literature. For this, it uses methods of stylistic analysis of literary works from the perspective of identifying communication symbols in prose. Additional research methods are the method of historical analysis of the ideological concepts formation and a cross-disciplinary approach to the interpretation of the content of works. The reasons for the strong influence of these concepts on the culture of modern Kazakhstan are justified. A symbol code is discovered through which writers reflected the state of public life in Kazakhstan. The research is one of the first attempts to review and analyse the stories of Kazakh literature published in the 21st century. The stories are specially classified in the thematic and content context, the scientific conclusions for the artistic world of the works, language and style features of the works are presented, whereby the authors of the study set a precedent for systematising disparate knowledge of modern Kazakh literature.

The development of generalized classification of varieties of adornments (on the example of brooches) in order to create the harmonious images. Methodology. The complex of scientific researches is used, namely: visual analytical method, system and informational method, and method of classifications. Results. The retrospective analysis of the prerequisites for the introduction, formation and development of the forms of brooches and the elements of their decoration is made, and the specificity of means of their artistic expressiveness is studied. The existing types of brooches have been analyzed and summarized. The peculiarities of designing of handmade brooches are described, and the basic materials used for their manufacture are characterized. Scientific novelty. Different types of brooches are classified according to different classification groups. The modern aspects of their use in the context of decoration for “costumes” are revealed. The information about existing types of brooches is summarized, and the features of their designing and manufacturing from different materials are characterized. Practical significance. The information base of various types of brooches is formed, the main and specific features of manufacturing of adornments in the form of brooches is characterized. The basic stages of manufacturing of brooch are illustrated and a bird-shaped adornment is manufactured, which is in line with the fashion trends.

Abstract:
The new Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) content scales, designed to assess a wide range of substantive dimensions of psychopathology, are evaluated in terms of their confounding with general factors associated with response styles, such as desirability responding. We developed a set of 21 scales that ranged from high to low desirability by blocking sets of items ranked in terms of desirability and arbitrarily keyed in terms of ‘true’ and ‘false.’ The MMPI-2 was administered to 221 university undergraduates and scored for the 21 desirability scales and the 15 content scales. Factor analysis with Varimax rotation of the desirability scales showed a clear circumplex structure, with one dimension reflecting desirability and the other separating true- and false-keyed scales. Dwyer extension methods were used to project this solution into the space of the 15 content dimensions. Correlations between the projected stylistic structure and that obtained from the content scales directly were .98 and .98 for the two largest dimensions. Further analyses revealed that coefficient alphas of MMPI-2 content scales were reduced sharply when variance attributable to response styles was removed. It was concluded that convergent and discriminant validity of MMPI-2 content scales are seriously compromised by the presence of substantial, confounding, general variance.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of A. Tvardovsky’s poem «I Was Killed Near Rzhev» («Ya Ubit podo Rzhevom») in the unity of its form and content. The analysis was carried out using the methods of prosody and text philological analysis, techniques of decoding stylistics, text reading «under the linguistic microscope», commentary, rhetorical analysis. The authors come to the conclusion that the imagery stylistic system of the poem is based on the affective contradiction – a collision of despair connected with an atheistic understanding of death as a total destruction of an individual and craving for faith. Polyphony and polysemantics of the poem’s text, a repeated change of communicative and rhythmic registers against the background of the author’s image integrity personified in the poem are viewed upon as iconic signs transmitting the idea of conciliarism of the Russian people as an integrated-divided unity.

The aim of the study is the analysis of imagery means when describing characters; their classification and role when depicting characters to identify the stylistic features of German classics as well as thorough study of stylistic means by using specific examples. The linguistic and stylistic analysis of the work is inseparably linked with the general literary work analysis. It plays a significant role when learning foreign languages and it is important for studying the foreign writers’ style. The methods of character creation as well as the language role are considered in the research paper. The huge impact of living colloquial speech on the author's language and how it influences the main features of the imagery-syntactic structure of the character’s direct speech are studied. It is suggested that the stylistic features of characterology should be considered with their functional correspondence to images, aesthetic motivation and appropriateness. One should focus on the general, typical repetitious features of the images, which are determined by the stable concept of the writer’s personal characteristic. When motivating a stylistic phenomenon it is advisable to proceed not only from the figurative idea but also from the author's worldview and the subjective properties of the portrayal object as these subjective properties are reflected in the subjective writer’s vision. The purpose of the study is to identify the techniques used by such writers as E. M. Remarque, T. Mann, A. Zegers and others as well as the means of imagery they used by establishing the peculiarities of the author's language, the language in general and the language of the characters, by classifying the means of imagery according to stylistic and emotional characteristics. The linguistic description method has been used for this purpose. The features of direct and indirect speech are analyzed on the basis of the well-known novels. The significant role in the creation of the literary and artistic character portrait belongs to the character speech, transmitted in a literary text by such methods as direct, indirect, improper direct speech and their mixed forms. It has been found out that direct speech is a method of language transmission that provides linguistic autonomy of characters; indirect speech is a form of coexistence of author’s language and the characters’ language within certain grammaticalized structures. The research demonstrates the role of using indirect speech in showing the ironic content, some characters’ thoughts, gossips etc.

The author's course “Psycholinguistic Basics of Media Literacy” is aimed at the development of analytical skills for understanding media content, critical and logical thinking. Moreover, the course gives comprehension of the basics of the psycholinguistic analysis of the text messages. The goals of the course shall include as follows: 1) development of analytical skills, 2) development of skills of psycholinguistic analysis of the text, 3) development of ability of understanding the mechanism of creation of fake news and advertorials, 4) forming the ability of identification of techniques of mind manipulation, 5) development of abilities of orientation in an information field, 6) raising personal responsibility for the actions in the Internet (writing posts in the social networks, blogs or spreading the information, adding ideas and comments). The proprietary method of the psycholinguistic analysis of the text includes the psychological methods of analysis like content analysis, intent analysis, etc. To add to it, the psycholinguistic approach presupposes the analysis of semantic units of the text, stylistic means and figures, meanings of words, utterances as well as analysis of the stylistics of the message and identification of the author’s attitude to an event and persons, etc. The course participants have to be able to analyse the information from the on-line space and to realize, how the content is created and which factors have an impact on this process. The course gives new knowledge in the field of communication and information education in terms of psychology. The course can be applied in the education system for the people interested in the basics of media literacy.

Characterization is commonly known in stylistics to be the cognitive process in the readers' minds when comprehending a fictional character in a literary work .In one approach, it is assumed that characters are the outcome of the interaction between the words in the text on the one hand and the contents of our heads on the other. This paper is an attempt to understand how characterization is achieved by applying Culpeper’s (2001) model which seems to be to present a method of analysis that is more objective and more systematic in analyzing characters. Two characters are selected for discussion; Ralph and Jack from Golding’s (1954) Lord of the Flies. The novel talks about the corruption of human beings and the capacity of evil they have. The results show that Ralph and Jack are antithetical in many aspects; Ralph represents the rational civilized boy whereas Jack represents the savage brutal boy.

Purpose. The purpose of the current article is to describe syntactic stylistic figures based on the transposition of syntactic structures. The above-mentioned figures are classified, their percentage ratio and stylistic functions in the novels by Charlotte Bingham are outlined.Methods. The current study uses a combination of general scientific (analysis-synthesis method, continuous sampling method, descriptive method, quantitative analysis) and linguistic methods. The definitional analysis is used to clarify linguistic terms and notions specified by the research topic. The word-formation analysis is used to single out word-formation patterns of the analysed language units. The stylistic analysis is used to research into syntactic stylistic figures based on the transposition of syntactic structures and study their stylistic colouring in certain communicative situations.Results. The article presents a study of syntactic stylistic figures based on the transposition of syntactic structures in the novels by Charlotte Bingham. The term “transposition of syntactic structures” has been defined as transposition of the sentence model in the context that results in the unexpected turn in the logical meaning and additional connotations. Syntactic stylistic figures based on the transposition of syntactic structures have been classified into three groups: quasi-declarative, quasi-interrogative and quasi-negative sentences. It has been researched that in the novels by Charlotte Bingham transposition of syntactic structures is chiefly represented by quasi-affirmative sentences (48.8%). It has been revealed that quasi-declarative sentences are used in dialogues to mark colloquial speech. It has been ascertained that the transposition of interrogative sentences is less frequent (41.3%) and is mainly used to refer to the character’s self-talk. It has been substantiated that quasi-negative sentences are infrequent (9.9%) and are chiefly used to weaken the positive qualities of the denoted reality.Conclusions. The novels by Charlotte Bingham contain all types of syntactic stylistic figures based on the transposition of syntactic structures. The above-mentioned figures are chiefly represented by the transposition of declarative (48.8%) and interrogative (41.3%) sentences. Quasi-negative sentences are infrequent (9.9%).Key words: declarative sentence, interrogative sentence, negative sentence, reevaluation, syntactic stylistic figures. Мета пропонованого дослідження – розглянути синтактико-стилістичні фігури із транспозицією типів речень, здійснити їхню типологізацію, визначити їхнє кількісне співвідношення та охарактеризувати їхні стилістичні функції у романах Шарлотти Бінґхем.Методи. У роботі використано загальнонаукові (аналіз та синтез, суцільна вибірка, описовий метод, кількісний аналіз) і власне лінгвістичні методи. Дефініційний аналіз – для уточнення лінгвістичних термінів та понять, окреслених темою дослі-дження; словотвірний аналіз – для встановлення словотвірних структур відповідно до способів словотвору; стилістичний аналіз – для вивчення синтактико-стилістичних фігур із транспозицією типів речень, з’ясування їхнього стилістичного забарвлення в аналізованих комунікативних ситуаціях.Результати. Дослідження присвячено вивченню синтактико-стилістичних фігур із транспозицією типів речень у романах Шарлотти Бінґхем. Визначено, що транспозиція типів речень – це використання синтаксичних структур у невластивих їм логіко-предметних значеннях та з додатковими конотаціями. Синтактико-стилістичні фігури з транспозицією типів речень поділено на три групи: із переосмисленням розповідного (І група), запитального (ІІ група) та заперечного (ІІІ група) речень. Встановлено, що у романах Шарлотти Бінґхем превалюють фігури першої групи (48,8%). Розкрито, що вони використовуються у діалогічному мовленні персонажів як маркер розмовного стилю. З’ясовано, що фігури другої групи вживаються авторкою дещо рідше (41,3%), передусім позначаючи ведення персонажем внутрішнього діалогу. Розкрито, що третя група фігур є найменш численною (9,9%) і використовується насамперед задля послаблення позитивних якостей позначуваного.Висновки. У романах Шарлотти Бінґхем представлено всі різновиди синтактико-стилістичних фігур із транспозицією типів речень. З-поміж них найбільш поширеними є фігури з переосмисленням розповідного (48,8%) та запитального (41,3%) речень. The purpose of this study was to examine contemporary poetry by Sutardji Calzoum Bachri using the stylistic approach. The research method used is based on content analysis. The object of this research is contemporary poems entitled Husspuss, O, Mantera, Sepisaupi, and Tapi. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The results and discussion in this study in the poems of Husspuss, O, Mantera, Sepisaupi, and Tapi shows that there are many elements of rhyme, rhythm, sound play, and sound repetition that are incorporated in the characteristics of sound and meaning of poetry while the style of language contained in these contemporary poems received less attention from the poet. The poet uses only a few styles of language such as hyperbole and repetition.

Abstract:
The paper examines Christian architecture from the perspective of “meta-codal function”, i.e. through examination of architectural symbolism expressed solely by architectural means. Emphasizing symbolic and semantic content of architecture, the paper offers a broader research field of architectural artistry by using a wider iconographic comparison. As a representative of baroque architecture and the most prominent example of architectural symbolism, St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in Vilnius (1668–1702) has been selected for the research. The iconographic programme of this church is compared to most distinct iconographic themes identified through the analysis of some examples of historic Christian architecture. By this method, the research detaches from the usual stylistic analysis and poses the most basic question in architectural artistry: is architecture capable of expressing the independent artistic content which can translate more than architecture’s general appearance.

The purpose of the work is to compare the translators’ idiostyles and conceptions through a comparative analysis of G.G. Byron’s mystery “Cain” and Ukrainian-language interpretations by M. Kabaliuk and O. Hriaznov.Methods of work. In the research a comparative method is used to compare the original and the translation and compare two translations, literary and stylistic textual analysis, descriptive and contextual methods are used to determine the stylistic dominants of the original and the target work, the method of assessing the adequacy of translation is used to define the translators’ mastery, the method of quantitative calculations is used to determine the degree of reproduction of linguistic and stylistic expression means.Results. In the article the characteristic features of G.G Byron’s idiostyle, the stylistic features of the original text of the mystery “Cain” are outlined. The degree of style reproduction adequacy of G.G. Byron’s mystery “Cain” in the interpretation by two Ukrainian translators – M. Kabaliuk and O. Hriaznov is determined, the specifics of their translation style are clarified. The history of O. Hiyaznov’s translation with the use of own electronic correspondence is investigated. The literary-critical opinion concerning the named translations is considered. Translation analysis is performed at the phonetic, rhythmic, lexical, morphological and syntactic levels. Information on the translation reception of G.G. Byron’s works in Ukraine has been expanded.Conclusions. The conducted comparative analysis makes it possible to state that each of these translators has an individual translation style, his own understanding of the author’s intention. M. Kabaiyuk takes into account the requirements for the most accurate reflection of the content in combination with the deepest reproduction of the author’s style, so his translation is marked by a high degree of adequacy. M. Kabaliuk approaches extremely close to the original work, avoiding literalism, preserving the author’s lexemes at most. He tries to convey all the stylistic dominants of the original maximally, pays attention to the subtle nuances of the poetic fabric of the English work; the interpreter’s presence is minimized. O. Hriaznov claims that a translation from an unlike language cannot be accurate; he pays more attention to the content than to the style, and does not reproduce all the features of G.G. Byron’s idiostyle (exclamatory intonation in some places, repetitions, about half of the epithets and exclamations). He is somewhat fluent with the original, often paraphrasing language units based on his own perception.Key words: translation, original, style, adequacy, stylistic dominant, translation strategy, emotionality, lexeme, lexical and syntactic linguistic-stylistic means. Мета роботи – шляхом зіставного аналізу містерії Дж.Г. Байрона «Каїн» та україномовних інтерпретацій М. Кабалюка і О. Грязнова порівняти ідіостилі і концепції перекладачів.Методи роботи. У дослідженні використано зіставний метод для порівняння оригіналу та перекладу і порівняння двох перекладів між собою, літературно-стилістичний текстуальний аналіз, описовий і контекстуальний методи – для визна-чення стильових домінант ориґіналу і цільового твору, метод оцінювання адекватності перекладу – для визначення ступеня майстерності перекладачів, метод кількісних підрахунків – для визначення ступеня відтворення мовностилістичних засобів вираження.Результати. У статті окреслено характерні риси ідіостилю Дж.Г. Байрона, стильові особливості оригінального тексту містерії «Каїн». Визначено ступінь адекватності відтворення стилю містерії Дж.Г. Байрона «Каїн» в інтерпретації двох укра-їнських перекладачів – М. Кабалюка та О. Грязнова, з’ясовано специфіку їхньої перекладацької манери. Досліджено історію перекладу О. Грязнова з використанням власного електронного листування. Розглянуто літературно-критичну думку щодо названих перекладів. Проведено перекладознавчий аналіз на фонетичному, ритмічному, лексичному, морфологічному та син-таксичному рівнях. Розширено відомості про перекладну рецепцію творчості Дж.Г. Байрона в Україні.Висновки. Проведений зіставний аналіз дає змогу стверджувати, що кожен із зазначених перекладачів має індивідуальний перекладний стиль, власне розуміння авторського задуму. М. Кабалюк враховує вимоги щодо якнайточнішого відображення змісту у поєднанні з якнайглибшим відтворенням стилю автора, тому його переклад відзначається високим ступенем адек-ватності. М. Кабалюк підходить гранично близько до першотвору, уникаючи буквалізму, максимально зберігаючи авторські лексеми. Він намагається максимально передати всі стильові домінанти першоджерела, звертає увагу на найтонші нюанси поетичної тканини англійського твору; присутність перекладача зведена до мінімуму. О. Грязнов стверджує, що переклад із неблизькоспорідненої мови не може бути точним; звертає більшу увагу на зміст, ніж на стиль, і відтворює не всі особливості ідіостилю Дж.Г. Байрона (окличну інтонацію подекуди, повтори, приблизно половину епітетів і вигуків). Background. In the time of Ukraine’s state independence, the interest of scholars in reproduction of a coherent historically formed image of regional cultures arose. The thing is, that almost throughout the twentieth century the priority issue was that the term «international» was considered as «assimilated». However, in the second half of the 20th century signifi cant processes took place in Transcarpathia, which manifested the formation of a professional Transcarpathian composer’s school – a movement led by Dezyderiy Zador and picked up by other composers, in particular Ishtvan Marton. In particular, the interest of Transcarpathian composers in piano compositions is of considerable interest as one of the segments of the European professional tradition: on the one hand, it is a testimony to the higher level of professional training and the practice of possession of classical experience; on the other hand, a geographically designated vector of stylistic modelling in the context of the intonational fund and the semantic fi eld of the European academic piano music in its inextricable connection with historically contemporary European-style stylistic phenomena. In its turn, the style shaping initiatives of the Transcarpathian composers of the second half of the 20th century caused signifi cant changes in their theoretical understanding – in accordance with the change of the mental paradigm of artistic creativity from the classical to the post-classical, when the method of tracing “style features” (the initial model of the formation of the method of style analysis) can no longer clarify the essence of the author’s concepts and requires orientation to methodologically predetermined transformations in the basis of the theory of style (for example, the human-dimensional nature of style). The problem, therefore, is that, on the example of selectively taken piano compositions of Transcarpathian composers of the period of the second half of the 20th century to present methodologically updated position of their stylistic analysis and executable interpretation – in view of the achievements of musicological thought at the border of the 20th – 21st centuries concerning the interpretation of stylistic phenomena of the modern age as a certain innovation project and its development in the conditions of post-traditional professionalism. Thus, today the task is to expand the perceptions of the piano creativity of the composers of Transcarpathia in the context of the whole 20th century, which includes the phases of modernism, modernism and avant-garde, united by the idea of the ultimate autonomy of the style. The scientifi c novelty of the conducted research is the broadening of the ideas of the pianoforte art of the Transcarpathian composers in the context of the intonation fund and the semantic fi eld of the European academic piano music of the whole 20th century, which contains the phases of modern, modernism and avant-garde, united by the intention of extreme style autonomy. Objectives. The purpose of the work is to comprehend the specifi cs of the analytical elaboration and performer’s interpretation of the «Etude» by D. Zador and «Impromptu » by I. Marton as such that, given the characteristic of the Transcarpathian region, the priority of choral compositions in the fi rst half of the 20th century testifi es to the formation of the original style initiatives, namely instrumental, in particular piano music in the middle of the twentieth century. Methods. The comparative, phenomenological and functional methods of research are used, which in aggregate gav e an opportunity to relate to the realities of the development of the national (Ukrainian) musicology, to reveal the world-view specifi cs and the vectors of individual stylistic modeling in the pianoforte art of Transcarpathian composers of the middle of the twentieth century, to provide knowledge of the semantic structure of the studied musical works. Results. It has been found out that on the background of changes in the mental paradigm of musical creativity from classical to post-classical, the analysis and interpretation of real musical text requires its semantic decoding in the intention of an accurate explanation of the idea and the intention of a particular musical work. However, as it has been established, there is an urgent need to focus on the immanent property of the semantic structure of innovative musical «projects», which exactly in the second half of the 20th century mostly show heterogeneity of style modelling – in the version of the active associative of correspondence range in the space of historical styles. This will provide an opportunity to eliminate the disadvantages of the formal-logical analysis method, which usually provokes the establishment and description of purely stylistic values of the real musical text without attempts at their fi gurative and semantic interpretation, and even provides an approximate summary of the analysis data at the level of the creative idea and the composer’s plan. It is proved that «Etude» с-moll of Dezyderiy Zador is a brightly modern (secessionist) stylistic model based on the characteristic of post-romanticism author’s stylization of historically known stylistic systems, and at the same time it has a distinctly individual, characteristic image concept, whose dynamic structure is determined by dramatic (semantic) perspective of the inclusion of various sorts of allusions and reminiscences concerning the manner of piano music; in turn, «Impromptu» by I. Marton is an example of mastering modernist trends with their expressionist (pathologized) expression of their perception of themselves in a spiritually declined world, when the declamative articulation of sound forms and their crystalline fragility, which are intended to recreate the ratio of the vulnerability of the alienated subject and inexorably terrible destructive power from the outside. Instead, it has been observed that not always the performers of the mentioned works read their idea and decode the image system. In general, this indicates an inability to adequately respond to styling in the version of the neo-stylistic formation (neo-romanticism, neoclassicism, etc.) – when the attachment of auditory experience to a historically known style (like manners – romantic, classical, etc.) tends to subconsciously ignore the transition to a hierarchical level of renewal (neo – renewed) by introducing innovations (sonorism, abstractly tuned block model of themes etc.) and the search for a stylistic centre of gravity using the allusion way of style development (allusion as the kind of indirect quoting) that ensures the existence of the concept of the so-called mixed style. Conclusions. The comprehension of the stylistic character of the creative ideas and intentions of piano art of Transcarpathian composers of the second half of the 20th century based on methods of semantic decoding of the real notations is heuristically productive for their hermeneutic reception – in order to maximize the probable approximation to the essence and concept of a musical composition and its adequate (meaningful) reproduction by the performers.

Abstract:
The article considers the actual problem of determining the creative method of V. Nabokov in the aspect of artistic principles of modernism and postmodernism. Using the method of historical and discursive analysis, the features of the metanovel as the main genre of the writer's prose are characterized. It is shown that the narcissism of Nabokov's texts appears in the individual rhetoric of the writer, refuting the stereotypes of artistic perception formed in the classical tradition, signaling the aesthetic superiority of the writer. Stylistic codes forming a narcissistic novel are revealed: mythologism, deconstruction, double coding, intertextuality. The ways of their realization in the novels are described: individualization of linguistic techniques, metaphorization, allegorism, rhizomacy of structure of the text, play on cultural codes. It is established that as a means of author's self-expression, the language of Nabokov's works has value in itself, the writer develops his own way of aesthetic attitude to the word. It is concluded, that the identified stylistic codes determine Nabokov's works as belonging to both modernism and postmodernism. These codes form a metatext, or supertext, a special type of non-classical prose, in which the language becomes a specific coding formation, allowing the author to present aesthetic and intellectual information, thus starting creative relations with the reader.

Introduction. Nowadays, continuing the neo-style trend in musical art started in the 20 century, increased attention is being attracted to the intentions of stylization and reinterpretation of a certain historical artistic models, where stylistic allusions (a kind of indirect citation, hint) use. This stylistic phenomenon has special spiritual and ethical preconditions that culturologists interpret in view of the so-called neo-restoration trends in culture. The above also applies to Ukrainian violin music, where the creative method of stylization, which has acquired such great importance in the art of the twentieth century, is actively in demand even today, in the modern postmodern style situation. Thus, the appearance of pieces in the Ukrainian violin repertoire, which even by their name declare its relation with the models of baroque genres, programming a certain creative idea, deserves to be studied in order to explore their direct relation to the original genre form and identify the algorithms for its stylization. All this, at least, will have a positive effect on the practice of the perception of stylization artifacts of a certain genre invariant, including the miniatures of the baroque type. The material of this research is the works of modern Ukrainian composers in the genre of violin miniatures, based on stylization of Baroque genre forms, which have taken a prominent place in academic musical creativity in general and in the history of the formation of the violin repertoire in particular. The stylistic variety of genre reminiscences in the Ukrainian violin repertoire is reflected in a number of materials by Ukrainian researchers (I. Andrievskyi, I. Hrebneva, V. Zaranskyi, I. Karachevtseva, V. Lapsiuk, I. Pilatiuk, S. Sandiuk, L. Skrypnyk, S. Yadlovskyi), where, in particular, the question of the demand for the so-called “violin miniature” (A. Haray, N. Pilatiuk) appears. However, the conceptual definition of a violin miniature today does not look completely methodologically adequate: the stereotypical norms of comprehending this class of genres touch exclusively the side of scale proportions, which contradicts the latest approaches to the interpretation of genre forms by the method of semantic analysis, namely, when the genre invariant is considered as a sign of a certain typed content. However, only taking into account the act of typification, the reference indications necessary for the formation of musical consciousness are established, which serve as a reliable guide in recognizing the genre nature of a work and discovering the cultural, historical and communicative ties necessary for its understanding. Thus, the purpose of this article is to reveal the peculiarities of stylistic modifications of baroque genres in the Ukrainian violin repertoire of the early XXI century and to propose methodological guidelines for analyzing the diversity of interpretations of the genre invariant under the influence of the historically actual style. The complex of the analytical methods (analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparative studies), as well as the historicaltypological and the prognostic approach was used in this research. Results of the research. The examples of stylization of baroque genres prove that in the postmodern stylistic dimension the intention to genre-stylistic allusions to the historically known is an important factor in the expression of the cultureforming ties of distant eras with modernity. Quite often, the very name of the genre used by the composer gives an orientation towards the perception of the range of corresponding historical and stylistic associations. The method of stylizing baroque genres and their rethinking thanks to new means of musical expression (specific melodic development, a special character of sound production and articulation, etc.) gives vivid artistic results. The samples examined demonstrate a variety of interesting author’s solutions based on the involvement of a historical genre model. Thus, Hanna Leonova’s Toccata (2010) is quite consistent with the genre image oftoccata as a “motor” piece. However, we note that the genre form of toccata is by no means associated (at least for today) with the actual violin repertoire, especially with the miniature, since it primarily existed in clavier music (recall, in particular, the clavier toccatas by J. S. Bach), and a row of the samples has a magnificent solemnity of sound and compositional monumentality. Nevertheless, the author found the opportunities to implement the “toccata” style, hinting at the genesis of this genre (etymologically – from “touch”, “sort out”), thanks to the compositional and performance specifics – improvisation, stability of rhythmical “motor” movement and high virtuosity. In “Sarabanda” by Vitalii Manik (2013) we observe only partial keeping of the three-beat meter normative for the chosen genre model, however, with a polyphonic presentation adequate in relation to the primary stylistic modus; in “Minuet” by Oleksii Voitenko (2003) – the stylistics of “music to dance”, but within the compositional boundaries of sonatina without the developing part. Victor Telichko’s “Partita” (2011) demonstrates cyclicality and reliance on dance elements, quite characteristic of the baroque version of this genre, but embodied in Ukrainian folk material. Avoiding quotations, the author preserves the melodic-rhythmic structure of folk-song material and creates his own thematic complex. At the same time, the use of a solo violin in this work is fully consistent with the traditions of the Baroque era, namely, Bach’s partita model; that is why a kind of allusion to the genre invariant arises. That is, applying allusions to baroque genres in violin miniature, contemporary Ukrainian composers demonstrate at least two approaches: the first is stylistic adequacy to the genre invariant (in its baroque version); the second is its actual stylization with the introduction of either a certain stylistic context, or an individual author’s compositional idea. Conclusions. Thus, the new conceptualization of the violin miniature requires an appropriate research approach, the basis of which is the semantic method of analyzing the genre invariant in musical works-stylizations, which has proven its fruitfulness in the postmodern era. Since the method of stylization always provides for a special relation to the genre invariant, the constancy of which has the ability to accumulate ever new typifying meanings, only a combination of analytical discourses that take into account both the genesis of the genre form and its stylistic modifications can form theoretically verified analytical models that are useful, among other things, in the learning process, contributing to the development of the musical consciousness of the recipient – the performer and the listener.

The object of this research is the process of transformation of individual characteristics and preferences of the participants of educational process in the conditions of Informatization of education. The subject of this research is the gender-stylistic peculiarities of students and pedagogues in the context of digitalization. Analysis is conducted on the gender aspects of educational process and gender differentiation trends. Special attention is given to the role of information technologies in achieving gender equality and importance of considering students’ stylistic orientation. The goal of this work is to determine the presence of gender differences and stylistic preferences of educational process participants within the framework of its Informatization and digitalization for development of ways of for considering individual preferences in organization and formation of learning environment. The stylistic profile of respondents was defined in accordance with the model of D. Kolb based on methodology of P. Honey and A. Mumford, adapted by the authors of the article. It included the questions specifying the stylistic orientation of students and pedagogues towards IT sphere. For quantitative assessment of manifestation of teaching styles was applied the method of semantic differential, which allows expressing the degree of agreement/disagreement with the proposed statement. The obtained data give a perspective on the peculiarities of formedness of stylistic preferences in acquisition of knowledge among the pedagogues and students on a gender basis. The more distinct gender differences in the teaching styles are revealed among the pedagogues, and their leveling is noticed among young generation. The dominant teaching styles for the majority of respondents became the ones of theoretical orientation (thinking and theoretical), which can be attributed to the impact of being engaged in IT sphere. The acquired results underline the need to draw attention to the absence of organic development of teaching styles of the students and allow determining further vectors of research – a comparative analysis of stylistic orientation of the participants of educational process based on age indicators.

This requires an appropriate level of organization<br />of communication of public authorities with the public and the qualification of staff.<br />The purpose of the article is to identify the structural and stylistic features of the posts from press<br />services of regional public authorities on their websites.<br />Studies performed using methods: comparative analysis, content analysis, analysis and synthesis.<br />It has been demonstrated that news posts from press services on official web-sites of regional-level<br />public authorities have styling features of both PR-products and journalistic works. It is suggested that<br />this is due to the desire to implement in one information flow its own information function and the function<br />of public opinion management.<br />Comparison of posts from the press services regional state administrations revealed different approaches<br />to the structure and stylistics of these texts. The materials of the press service of the Dnepropetrovsk<br />Regional State Administration are structured according to a single model and stylistically<br />close to publications in Internet editions, and Odessa – have structural differences, but stylistically<br />more to press releases. The goal of this study is revealing the stylistic elements found in the novel entitled Sirkus Pohon by Andrea Hirata, preceding by describing the relationship between structural elements. The research method is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis based on structural theoretical concepts and stylistics. The results of the study shows that the structural elements in the novel Sirkus Pohon have a relationship between one to other element namely title, theme, character, conflict, and setting. All these five elements form the wholeness of the story. In the field of stylistics, the aesthetics of the story can be obtained from the language potentiality namely diction, sentence style and figurative language. The figurative language created by the writer are metaphor, sentence style, and personification. The potential language used by Andrea Hirata cannot be separated from the sociocultural context and also the sleight of the writer. The writer presents an intellectual figure, whereas the contextual society is a traditional and poor. It twitters people of Malay in the inland Belitung who still innocence but full of intrigue. In this novel, the appearance of pomegranates is related to the problems of love, traditional beliefs, the revival of the traveling circus, and political issues. The author expresses the traditional beliefs contradicting to the author's logic or intellect.

The article considers a type of headlines – clickbait – that is common in modern mass media discourse. The novelty of the research is in the object of research and the material represented in three languages – Russian, English and French. Clickbait as a phenomenon has not been investigated before, neither has its national and cultural specificity in the three analyzed linguistic cultures; this fact determines the relevance of the study. The analysis of the language material was based on hypothetical-deductive method, continuous sampling method, and method of stylistic and contextual analysis. The purpose of this work is to identify the content and stylistic characteristics of clickbait in the Russian -, English- and French-speaking information space. Initially, the English-language lexeme “clickbait” was borrowed into Russian and also French, where it received additional nominations. In the Russian language this word is almost assimilated as a language unit. The authors believe that clickbait is a type of a manipulative influence exerted on perceiving mass audience, the essence of which is to attract and retain the recipient’s attention using false or dubious information. To this end, a variety of language and audio-visual tools are used that allow assigning clickbait to a creolized text type. The authors believe that clickbait is a global phenomenon in modern information space, which national and cultural specificity is determined by a national “agenda”. The article is addressed to philologists, psychologists and sociologists. The research results can as well be useful for undergraduate and postgraduate students specializing in the Humanities.

The purpose of the article is to examine the functioning of emotion in a poetic work and to describe this process by means of emotive analysis. The aim is to describe this action through revealing the author's subjectivity and depicting his inner world, as well as through the subjective organisation of the poetic text. Emotive analysis of a poetic work is based on establishing the influence of emotion on the organisation of the text at all levels of its structuring. Identifying the emotivity of textual components in content and form is carried out by the method of emotive analysis. We propose a multilevel emotive analysis, concerning different structures and levels of poetic text: phonetic (sound writing), lexical, descriptive and expressive (tropes, figures of speech, images), syntactic (poetic syntax), genre (genre forms and varieties), plot and composition (emothemes and changes in poetic experience), etc. The author of the article concludes that emotivity is characteristic not only of stylistic means, but also of the emotheme, emotive image, lyrical plot, emotive type of creative personality, etc. Emotivity coordinates all levels of the poetic text structure and influences the revealing of the poet's message and the reader's perception of it. And the poetic emotion also becomes an activator of certain lyrical situations / lyrical events, a regulator of emotional changes in 'events of the soul', an emotive marker of certain moods, states, experiences.

The type of this study was a descriptive qualitative study, while the data were collected from several ayahs of at-taghlîb in Quran, then this study used the discourse analysis method to analyze the data according to some Arabic stylist’s interpretation. The interpretation phase conducted through collected some stylist’s arguments which are related to the data in this study, then concluded secret of al-taghîb based on their interpretation. The result showed that at-taghlîb in Quran was not a mistake, this has to with phenomenon of Quranic styles. This style contained secret of the great means which desired by Allah SWT. The result gave positive implication to everyone who want to learn Quran in a careful way in understanding each of contents and messages. In order to understand the contents and messages of Quran completely we have to pay attention toward some of Quranic sciences such as: Arabic grammar, Arabic rhetoric, Arabic linguistic, and Arabic stylistic. However, the object of this research study was still limited to certain ayahs. From thiss study, it is hoped that the study can be carried out in the field Arabic style.

The article analyses the critical views on Chinese literature of the 1940s—50s. The analysis was based on Chinese, Russian and Western critical papers. It revealed a different approach to the study of literary material. Chinese scholars use national traditional methods of literary analysis, that is thematic classifi cation and biographical description. Russian researchers focus on the analysis of literary controversy, the history of progressive democratic thought and the content of ideological campaigns. In the studies of Western scholars the emphasis is made on the description of the literary style of the author or his masterpiece. In the conclution it is said that the proper analysis of Chinese literature of the 1940s—50s should take into account different types of literary analysis, focus on thematic, biographical, ideological and stylistic aproachs.

Purpose. The task of this article is to study the use of gemination that is the stylistic device of repetition. It is used to depict the emotional states of the characters in the novel “451 degrees Fahrenheit” by the American writer Ray Bradbury. Until now this topic has not been examined thoroughly in scientific studies. It seems interesting to mark gemination as positive and negative one by means of the context that helps to acquire a certain expressive and evaluative judgment.Methods. The research is carried out using a descriptive method for cataloguing, systematization, and classification of factual material, as well as methods of theoretical generalization and analysis. The method of contextual analysis is used to clarify the role of expressive means in the text of the novel. This method is aimed at revealing the context, taking into account the author’s intention, and commented on the means of expression used by the writer. The application of these methods allows analyzing the use of the stylistic figure gemination as an expression of the characters’ different emotional states.Results. The article considers the theoretical aspects of repetition and stylistic devices which are based on its principle. In the novel, repetition functions as one of the principles to verbalize the expression of the characters’ emotional states. The views of linguists on the peculiarities of gemination’s functioning in the language are analyzed. The attempt to give the definition to this stylistic device is made. In linguistics, gemination is characterized as a phenomenon of the expressive syntax that has a contact location. The achievement of the influential effect is due to redundancy. Conclusions. The analyzed examples which are based on gemination mostly describe negative emotions. The number of examples in the novel where gemination is used to denote positive emotions is rather small. It is emphasized that such a distribution is not usual as it depends on the genre, the text’s general tone, and the context of the analyzed stylistic device.Key words: repetition, stylistic devices, expressive syntax, fiction, function, emotion. Мета наукової розвідки полягає в дослідженні вживання стилістичної фігури повтору гемінації, яку використано для зображення емоційного стану персонажів у романі американського письменника РеяБредбері «451 градус за Фаренгейтом», що до сьогодні не ставало предметом ретельних наукових студіювань. Цікавим видається позитивне та негативне маркування стилістичної фігури, яка залежно від контексту набуває певного експресивно-оціночного судження.Методи. Дослідження здійснено за допомогою описового методу – для інвентаризації, систематизації і класифікації фактологічного матеріалу, а також методів теоретичного узагальнення та аналізу. Для з’ясування ролі експресивного засобу в тек-сті роману було використано метод контекстуального аналізу, який спрямовано на розкриття контексту з урахуванням задуму автора та було прокоментовано виражальні засоби, якими послуговувався письменник. Використання зазначених методів дозволило здійснити аналіз уживання стилістичної фігури гемінація як виразника різних емоційних станів персонажів твору.Результати. У статті розглянуто теоретичні аспекти фігури мови повтору та стилістичних фігур, які засновані на його принципі. У тексті роману повтор функціонує як один із принципів вербалізації вираження емоційних станів персонажів. Детально проаналізовано ті з них, які використано як інструмент досягнення експресивності. Розглянуто точки зору вчених-лінгвістів на особливості функціонування гемінації в мові та зроблено спробу надати дефініцію зазначеному явищу. У науко-вих лінгвістичних розвідках гемінація характеризується як фігура експресивного синтаксису. Зазначене явище має контактне розташування, а досягнення впливового ефекту відбувається за рахунок надлишковості. Вживання гемінації у тексті привер-тає увагу читачів, акцентує увагу на найголовнішому, допомагає відобразити настрій та емоції героїв твору.Висновки. У статті звернено увагу на вживання стилістичних фігур, які засновано на принципі повтору і є семантико-стилістичною домінантою у творі письменника. Досліджувані приклади, які засновані на вживанні фігури мови гемінації, в основному описують негативні емоції. Кількість прикладів у романі, де гемінація вживається на позначення позитивних емоцій, складає незначну кількість. Наголошено, що такий розподіл не є закономірним, а залежить від жанру, загального тону твору та контексту аналізованої фігури. Ключові слова: повтор, стилістичні засоби, експресивний синтаксис, художній текст, функція, емоція.

The two main factors that characterize a text are its content and its style, and both can be used as a means of categorization. In this paper we present an approach to text categorization in terms of genre and author for Modern Greek. In contrast to previous stylometric approaches, we attempt to take full advantage of existing natural language processing (NLP) tools. To this end, we propose a set of style markers including analysis-level measures that represent the way in which the input text has been analyzed and capture useful stylistic information without additional cost. We present a set of small-scale but reasonable experiments in text genre detection, author identification, and author verification tasks and show that the proposed method performs better than the most popular distributional lexical measures, i.e., functions of vocabulary richness and frequencies of occurrence of the most frequent words. All the presented experiments are based on unrestricted text downloaded from the World Wide Web without any manual text preprocessing or text sampling. Various performance issues regarding the training set size and the significance of the proposed style markers are discussed. Our system can be used in any application that requires fast and easily adaptable text categorization in terms of stylistically homogeneous categories. Moreover, the procedure of defining analysis-level markers can be followed in order to extract useful stylistic information using existing text processing tools.

This study aims to analyze (1) the stylistic of Ciamsi:Puisi-Puisi Ramalan; (2) The faulty elements of Chinese culture in Ciam Si: Puisi-Puisi Ramalan. Data collection of this research use literature review and observation method by technical note. This study is analyzed by using hermeneuticmethods and content analysis techniques, etnography approach with stylistic theory and ecocritic. The analysis showed that Ciam Si poetry is a forecasts poetry generally used in the Chinese community in temple rituals. The Stylistic element in Ciam Si is Tang Dynasty poetry, consist of four rows, the first row as an opener and the fourth line as the closing, each row is generally seven syllables. Meanwhile, the faulty element of Ciam Si is a Chinese tradition that is believed to the three concepts of nature: the celestial world, the natural world, and afterlife. Therefore, Ciam Si: Puisi-Puisi Ramalan illustrates the strong tradition of the spirituality of nature combined with the traditions and rituals of Chinesesociety as a form of environmental preservation. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis (1) stilistika Ciam Si:Puisi-Puisi Ramalan; (2) unsur kealaman budaya Tionghoa dalam Ciam Si: Puisi-Puisi Ramalan. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode pustaka dan simak dengan teknik catat. Penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutik dan teknik analsisis kontens, pendekatan etnografi dengan teori stilistika dan ekokritik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa puisi Ciam Si merupakan puisi ramalan yangumumnya digunakan masyarakat Tionghoa dalam ritual di Klenteng. Unsur stilistika pada puisi Ciam Si berbentuk syair Dinasti Tang, terdiri atas 4 baris, baris pertama sebagai pembuka dan baris keempat sebagai penutup, tiap barisnya umumnya tujuh suku kata. Sementara itu, unsurkealaman pada Ciam Si merupakan tradisi Tionghoa yang mempercayai tiga konsep alam: alam langit, alam bumi, dan alam baka. Oleh karena itu, Ciam Si: Puisi-Puisi Ramalan menggambarkan tradisi yang kuat tentang spiritualitas alam berpadu dengan tradisi dan ritual masyarakat Tionghoa sebagai bentuk pelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract:
The article considers the characteristics of targeting when identifying the signs of incitement in extremist materials: in texts, commentaries to articles, videos, audios etc. on the Internet. The methods of linguistic analysis (lexical-semantic, stylistic analysis, semantic analysis, communicative-pragmatic analysis) were used in the study. As a result, the following forms of targeting expression in the aspect of linguistic signs of incitement were identified: 1) an appeal to a specific interlocutor (to a specific person, group of persons); 2) through the components of the communicative situation in general (focus on the mass, public addressee and even on the self which is transformed into a focus on the own group). Complicated cases of the implementation of the targeting category in texts with a pronounced or hidden language game are noted. The definition of the targeting category is shown to be an important component when identifying the linguistic signs of the “incitement” meaning, the speech (text) purpose depends on it. Targeting is closely related to the types of incitement: direct/indirect, explicit/implicit. To identify the linguistic features of the “incitement” meaning it is necessary to conduct a multidimensional analysis considering the general communicative situation, the category of targeting and its implementation in the statement.

Irony has significant stylistic function in texts. Given that in many cases it works in a certain linguistic, cultural, social and political context, irony may present a major challenge for the translator. The challenge involves not only recognizing and understanding it, but, perhaps, more importantly, conveying it in the target language so that all its stylistic effects become accessible for the target language reader. The purpose of this paper is to examine the strategies used to translate irony from English into Macedonian as well as to identify if there is any correlation between the type of irony and the translation strategy used. The results are based on an analysis of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and its translation into Macedonian. The study focuses on ironic utterances and their rendition in translation. The method combines qualitative and quantitative approaches.

Abstract:
The object of this research is the category of chronotope &ndash; a significant complex text category that reflects the semantic coordinates of the text and extra-textual reality. The category of chronotope intertwines the isomorphic components of textual time and textual space. The Akathist genre belongs to an insufficiently studied functional religious style. Examination of the category of chronotope in the context of Akathist genre is relevant trend in the modern functional stylistics. The research material contains the texts of Orthodox Akathists dedicated to the canonized saints. The objectivity of scientific research is justified by the choice of texts from various time periods. The author applies the method of categorical-textual analysis, which reveals the linguo-stylistic technique of formation of the components of general communicative-pragmatic meaning of the text. The novelty is defined by the fact that the use of categorical-textual method in the analysis of the Akathist type of text, interpreted as a generalized textual structure with typical genre-forming components, allows determining with a high degree of objectivity the genre specificity of Akathist and religious functional style. As a result of the conducted research, the author highlights the categorical-textual typology of chronotope, which characterizes the systematic uniformity of Akathist texts. The article describes the methods of explication of the sacred, objective (objectively-sacred and objectively-profane), and subjective (subjectively-sacred and subjectively-profane) types of time and space. Temporal indicators and locative units of the determined types of chronotope reconstruct the dichotomy of the divine and the earthly in the Akathist, which is inherent to the Christian worldview and constructively substantiates the uniqueness of the religious functional style. The conducted analysis reveals the communicative-pragmatic focus of the complex textual category of chronotope. The research materials can be used as an illustrative textbook in the practical course of the stylistics of modern Russian language.

The purpose of the article is to show psychological peculiarities of understanding by students Internet texts and to determine the predictors of such understanding. Methods and methodical instrumentation of the research. The following scientific methods were used as the basis of the research: holistic analysis of the text, problem-thematic analysis, also comparative analysis. The following methods have also been used to study the research material: the descriptive method; the method of distributive analysis; the method of syntactic transformation. Also we used the author’s questionnaire to determine the goals of interpersonal communication in the Internet space (Nabochuk, 2020); the questionnaire (Shkuratova, 2019), which has the aim to determine the motives of direct and indirect interpersonal communication; the questionnaire with the purpose to provide diagnostics of interpersonal relationships by T. Leary (The questionnaire of diagnostics of interpersonal relationships, 2018). The results of the research. It was built a semantic space that characterized the process of understanding of artistic Internet texts of journalistic discourse. Students evaluated the content of these texts by 30 bipolar scales, which were combined after factor analysis into 7 blocks of factors that characterize the “evaluation” of a particular Internet text. (1). “The Assessment”: successful – unsuccessful; interesting – uninteresting; strong – weak; pleasant – unpleasant; predicative – non-predicative. (2). “Tension or Strength”: difficult – easy to understand; tense – frivolous; exceptional – everyday; chained – free; active – inactive; aggressive – non-aggressive; authoritarian – democratic. (3). “Realism or vitality”: natural – fictional; near – far; real – unreal. (4). “Emotional tone”: pessimistic – optimistic; sad – cheerful; selfish – unselfish; suspicious – acceptable. (5). “Depth or psychological content”: psychological – non-psychological; reflective – non reflective; serious – unserious; reasonable – unreasonable; logical – illogical; convenient – inconvenient; dialogical – monologue; dependent – independent. (6). “The Abstractness”: abstract – concrete; fantastic – real. (7). “Multifaceted”: multifaceted – one-sided; complex – simple; compressed – expanded. Conclusions. According to the results of our research, we determined four main psychological peculiarities of understanding by students Internet texts. These peculiarities are: (1) understanding the Internet text by its contextuality, the predictors of which are: reality, versatility, paradigm, descriptiveness, deepness, subjectiveness and personally centered qualities; (2) understanding the Internet text by its psychological context, which includes such predictors, as: psychological justification, compressiveness, interest, entertaining, satisfaction, harmoniousness, emotiveness, expressiveness; (3) understanding the Internet text by its emotional context and predictors, such as: comfort, stylistic expressiveness, convenience, expressiveness, lightness, colloquial features, journalistic style of writing; (4) understanding the Internet text by its multifaceted paradigm, which is characterized by such predictors: paradigmatic, space, being updated, its stimulating, dialogic content, comfort characteristics of perceiving, frivolousness.

This study aims to examine the language style (al–uslub) used by al- Barudi in his poetry with the theme of life descriptions by describing the main idea or theme, elements of feeling or emotion, and language style based on aspects of diction or choice of words, syntax or sentence structure and rhetorical aspect or meaning. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive-analytical literature study by referring to Al-Barudi's poetry text as the primary source. The data analysis method used is content analysis (tahlil al–madmun). The author uses a stylistic approach in examining and analyzing the language styles used by the poets in this poem. In examining this poem, the writer will use the stylistic theory proposed by Gorys Keraf related to the classification of types of diction, language style based on syntactic aspects, and rhetorical aspects or meaning. This poetry has the theme of "life description" with a choice of words that still maintain aesthetic values supported by a very strong language style or (al–uslub). The language style contained in the poem is very strong and appropriate with the characteristics of the neoclassical genre of poetry pioneered by al-Barudi at that time, although free, but still strongly adheres to wazan and qafiyah. Seen from the aspect of diction, the words chosen by the poet in sya'ir are quite easy to understand in a popular style. Then from the aspect of sentence structure or syntax, this poem has a climax style. The language styles based on the meaning contained in this poem are hyperbole, simile, pleonasm, apostrophe, ellipsis, assonance, erotesis, and euphemism.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to present the stylistic and thematic analysis of Geez poetry, in a way that examines the profound and complex meaning that it carries.Research Methodology: The article methodology consisted of qualitative research methodology and a purposive sampling was used in field work. Secondary data was also obtained from books and scholarly journals and duly acknowledged. Idiomatic and literal translation methods were used, with special emphasis on meaning rather than form. The translation from Geez to English was conducted by the researcher and content analysis was used to analyze the data.Findings: The poems revealed a rich, valuable aesthetics and dynamic changes taking place in the cultural mold of the Geez speaking society. It has also revealed that a huge amount of Geez oral poetry still remains unrecorded. It has also shown that Geez oral poetry is not being learned by the young generation and this could lead to a loss in cultural practices embodied in it.Unique Contribution to Theory, Policy and Practice: The article will contribute to the preservation, documentation and research endeavors being undertaken by researches, educators as well as policy makers involved in areas related to the study of the classical language of Geez. This is because none of Geez poetry has been composed, written or recorded in any parchments or books by the churches at all. Hence, it is only too obvious that a massive amount of poetic wisdom has been lost that future generations could have benefited from.

Introduction. Recently in the Ukrainian media space, there are a lot of info texts on religious topics; however, special attention should be given to the problem of hate speech used in such texts, as a repetition of certain messages that employ negatively colored or offensive lexis in relation to denominations is an indicator of influence on public opinion which can provoke the aggressive public mood. The relevance of the study. The aim of this paper is to study the peculiarities of using hate speech in info texts on religious topics represented in the Ukrainian online space. It includes, in particular, monitoring of the Internet in order to detect those secular and denominational resources that employ expressive means of hate speech in headlines or info texts on religious topics, as well as the study of lexical, stylistic, structural, and other peculiarities of hate speech and discovery of reasons for using it. Research methods. The research is grounded on the information approach; the method of academic literature analysis was used for general exploration of the subject, for defining the level of the theoretical study of such aspect of religious journalism as the use of hate speech by secular and denominational mass-media in reports on religious topics; methods of analysis and generalization – to distinguish the expressive means of hate speech that are used in the religious segment of the Internet space, and to determine the causes of their application. Results. The following reasons for hate speech use have been defined: 1) with the aim of influencing public opinion, i.e. forming a negative image of a confession, and humiliating its status; 2) with the aim of making web headlines more ardent by means of expressive lexis use, which, in its turn, is capable of provoking readers’ interest and attracting new visitors to the website. There are such particularly the appeal to political stereotypes, as well as the use of politically-marked words and political slang, jargonisms, vulgarisms, dysphemisms, stylistic lowering that secure the desired expressive effect. The importance of a communicator’s status, which gives more value to a message, has been highlighted. Usually, the use of hate speech is grounded on binary opposition ‘friend-or-foe’. Conclusions. The academic novelty of this research is determined by singling out the peculiarities (lexical, stylistic, structural, etc.) of hate speech in the religious segment of the Ukrainian online space and by discovering the reasons for using it. A prospect for further research is the study of communication between church and state in the Ukrainian media. Abstract:
The article is devoted to the linguostatistic analysis of the nominacentric proverbs of the English language. The analysis was carried out on the basis of a proverb dictionary. Folk proverbs and sayings of the English language in the studied dictionary have great didactic and educational value, since they assert moral norms (hard work, patriotism, love for the homeland, respect for elders, courage, etc.) and condemn human vices (laziness, cowardice, greed, etc.). The analyzed proverbial dictionary of the English language (Collection of English proverbs and sayings, 1987) contains about 1015 proverbs and sayings, which are arranged thematically. The materials of the dictionary demonstrate the richness of the figurative means of the language, its history and culture, the rules of the people’s life, which are passed from generation to generation for many centuries. Linguostatistic analysis and description are carried out on the basis of nominacentric proverbs with the basic notion "man". They occupy a large place in the proverbial fund of the English language, both in content and quantity and in the ways of their expression. The method of linguostatistical analysis and the semantic-stylistic method were used in the process of scientific research.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to analyze the phenomenon of terminological metaphorization in the context of the hypothesis that this process is the cognitive basis for transsterminologization in the field of subject terminological nominations. The authors have selected such areas as programming and stock trading as an empirical base. To solve the research issues, the authors used the following general scientific and linguistic methods: descriptive method, method of definition analysis, method of continuous selection. The selection of 78 metaphorical terms of software development and exchange trading selected by the method of continuous selection from the total corpus of 2870 analyzed terms has served as the material for the research. The analysis has shown that a significant number of terms in the areas of programming and exchange trading are formed on the basis of metaphorical transfer. Subject terminological nominations designating certain fragments of the professional picture of the world has moved into this area without changing their form (simple terms) and served as the basis for the construction of derived term combinations based on a metaphorical transfer in new subject areas. The transition of a term to a different field of knowledge is conditioned by an analogy in the description of the phenomenon, or an analogy in the structure of the term, in its stylistic properties, in the functional and lexical meaning of the words that make up the term. The process of transsterminologization appears as a multi-stage and multidimensional phenomenon, which includes both the discursive use of the term, and its formal and semantic-stylistic characteristics. In general, the process of metaphorization plays an important role in term formation. The properties of metaphors suggest that the metaphor should be considered within the framework of an anthropocentric approach with the help of the cognitive-linguistic analysis.
