Full textThe study and the design of nonlinear systems (stability study, stabilizing control laws synthesis, robustness analysis,. . . ) arise difficult numerical problems that classical methods have difficulty to solve. Then, set-membership formulations of these problems, where the basic idea is to replace punctual value by interval that include it, where already show very efficient for their resolution. In this thesis, we propose new set-membership algorithms dedicated for most special tasks like set projection over a subspace. In order to improve, the efficiency of these algorithms in general context, we have presented two ideas. The first one consist to decompose the projection of a n-dimensional set, in an intersection of sets projections where the sum of dimensions is equal to n. The second idea consists in yielding the projection algorithms more efficient by improving inner approximation. In a second time, the developed algorithms have been implemented in order to treat stability and control problem ot time-delay systems, sailing boat control and filters design

Full textComplex numerical simulations of non linear dynamic systems require large computational efforts. The developed method, based on finite element techniques, aims to reduce the computing time. The idea is to optimize the spatial and temporal mesh controlling the solution quality. So, the proposed method solves the problem on different spatial and temporal grids. The method is named "STAR-method" for Space Time Automatic Refinement. With the "STAR-method", an error indicator detects the areas where spatial and temporal discretisations are insufficient to obtain the required precision. The \STAR-method" then automatically refines the meshes in these domains. Results show several advantages of the \STAR-method". The final spatial and temporal meshes become user independent. The local space time mesh refinement focuses the calculational effort only there where it is necessary. With the "STAR-method" the number of degrees of freedom and the number of the time steps are reduced compared to classical FEM. Finally, the solution precision is controlled during the calculation. At the end of calculation, the user obtains the solution with constant precision over the entire calculational domain and the spatial and temporal mesh associated
Farenc, Christelle. "Ergoval : une méthode de structuration des règles ergonomiques permettant l'évaluation automatique d'interfaces graphiques." Toulouse 1, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997TOU10013.
Full textThe thesis introduces a new method for structuring ergonomic rules in order to evaluate graphical user interface. This method performed in collaboration with the SRTP (post office technical research unit) aims to be used by computer experts and to be integrated in an automatic user interface evaluation tool : ERGOVAL. In order to provide information to developers in a way they can handle it to modify the interface, ergonomic rules were reformulated to concern directly graphical objects of the user interface. Knowledge involved in the evaluation was structured in this way : * a representation of the UI in terms of the interaction objects of the norm CUA was built : this is the decomposition of graphical objects * all graphical objects concerned by the same set of ergonomic rules are grouped together into classes of objects : the typology of graphic objects. . The resulting typology consists in several levels of abstraction, the graphical objects being the leaves of this typology. The links of this typology are types of links which have hierarchical properties, i. E. Each type inherits attributes from the parent type and associated rules. A mock-up of the ERGOVAL tool was made to validate knowledge structuration and to define specifications of the final tool. In order to determine the scale application, the automatic and qualitative dimensions were studied especially the automatic retrieval of interface description and the number and level of ergonomic rules integrated in the mock-up. Consequently, the quality of an automatic evaluation and an evaluation of high level ergonomic rules were determined
