Full textToday's intranet has become the backbone of an organization, having implemented this technology that is both unifying and transforming. This work addresses a fundamental topic in management science: the issue of the evaluation of information systems, including intranet. However, the implementation of an intranet seems to be very expensive, and the results of other techniques are not easily observable. Therefore, it must have the necessary elements to demonstrate and to justify to top management, that the intranet is much more than just an innovative technology solution, taking advantage of the popularity of information technology. This work is a proposal of a theoretical model with evaluation criteria and rules, taking into account the organizational context, in which each is rooted infrastructure. To achieve this, we conducted a qualitative, inductive and exploratory research. It was completed in two phases. In the first, a survey was regulated according to the principles of Delphi studies. In the second, a case study was administered with a banking institution. The results show that, the evaluation of the intranet is, in itself, a participatory process of social construction, and dependent on a suitable organizational change. This process must be carried out according to the criteria associated with two major dimensions: the "quality dimension" and "dimension virtue. " Each is composed of assessment areas. The results obtained provide essential elements to evaluate, and especially to favor the perceived success of the intranet, which depends on both technical and social aspects. This model is both a theoretical contribution, as well as a managerial one, since banks now have tools to measure the success of their intranet. This work highlights the importance of certain variables, and features specific links to the banking sector

Full textCompetitive intelligence in companies is a reality. Thus, its epistemology is not yet completed. The understanding of organizational characteristics, internal and external factors, tools, useful competences is varied and sometimes contradictory. This thesis gives a topical analysis of practices and theory. The literature review reveals the emergence of a new topic which groups together management science, information science, strategy. The Delphi method gives us a clear view of the perception of competitive intelligence. A sample of 35 experts, gives opinion about consensus and differences. As an interactive method we worked for consulting in a company, in order to evaluate the competitive intelligence process. With a triangulation, we review theoretical and practical issues of competitive intelligence

Full textBackground: With an excess mortality compared to the national average, cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are a real issue of Public Health and Therapeutic Education (TVE) in the Nord Pas de Calais (NPDC). When a crisis arises, the patient and his family must bear management until help arrives. Objective: To characterize the decision-making skills to mobilize the patient and his family in crisis situations ; define the conditions of acquisition and implementation. This research is part of a social constructivist approach in which interactions between panelists are asked to reach a consensus. Method : Delphi method over 18 months with 278 "experts": 82 caregivers multidisciplinary and 196 patients, members of Associations and Heart Health NPDC with five successive questionnaires : Q0 demographic data, Q1 define the crisis, Q2 identify situations (frequency, severity), Q3 prioritize skills, Q4 determine the conditions of their acquisition and mobilization (feasibility and limits). Results : 20 skills are characterized and prioritized through a process of consensus that reflects the influence of opinion among panelists and their adjustment. "Identifying the warning signs," "Call a rescue service" get a strong consensus (90%). Perspectives : methodological research from e-Delphi is envisaged for continue the work on characterization of skills about a larger number and a more diverse group ; determine decision-making skills allow to adjust, now, the regional educational programs

Full textThis research aims to improve our understanding of communication within the management control process, through the proposal of a measurement model. The literature in communication underlines the need for choice of a precise context for the study of communication. Research in management control shows the importance of concepts like information, relation and communication. However, there is no explanatory model of the communication in this precise context. Our thesis brings a first modelled representation. It is structured in three steps: - A first exploratory empirical phase was carried out, through a Delphi process with 20 controllers in 20 big French companies. - A second confirmatory empirical phase was led on the basis of 390 questionnaires. - A descriptive/prescriptive third phase which permit to extend the answer brought to our research problem, by proposing a communication approach of management control. This research shows the interest of a communication approach for a better understanding of management control process. It led to the development of a three-dimensional measurement model which analyzes the communication act in the management control process according to the organisational communication, the interpersonal communication and the managerial communication. Based on the built model, this research proposes a management control modes typology based on the communication

Full textHaving illustrated the importance of idea generation in the new product development process and certain weaknesses of existing methods to detect "weak signals" ideas to drive successful product innovation, the author offers the development of a new ideation method : Branddelphi. Inspired from certains principles of brainstorming (Osborn, 1953), information theory (Shannon, 1948), Delphi method (Dalkey, 1969), evolutionary and adaptive algorithms (Seck, 1996, Goldberg, 2000). The method is developed, tested and validadted in terms of reliability, internal and external validities in two product categories (involving, not involving) and show superior performance in comparison to brainstorming and Delphi method. Future research directions are highlighted with specific interest in idea stating rather than content only, the control and sequential involvement of different consumers (Roger, 1983), as well as different alternatives for algorithm optimization and consumers optimal creative simulation (Zaltman, 2003)

Full textHealthcare improvement requires rigorous data analysis and the use of quality indicators is essential. This research has explored the issue of these indicators from two axes: methods used to select indicators and tool used to monitoring them. We first conducted a systematic review on the Delphi method which highlighted a lack of universal standards for its implementation. This lead to heterogeneity in ifs use, an increase in modified version and an ambivalent notion of consensus. We have shown the need to improve the use and reporting of some points of the method including the response rate at each round, feed back to participants before each round and definition of consensus. We provide a number of recommendations to the investigators in order to improve the using and reporting of the method in future surveys. An application of this method to obstetrics has been presented. An international French-speaking multidisciplinary panel selected a set of eighteen indicators covering ail stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. The second phase involved the study of monitoring tools of quality indicators based on statistical process control. We assessed the use of a quality-control dashboard based on CUSUM charts to monitor the performance of an obstetrics and gynaecology department. The study hypothesis is that continuous quality indicator monitoring using CUSUM chart will increase awareness of quality issues among maternity-unit healthcare workers and permit the rapid detection of small dips in performance. Therefore, a decrease in morbidity and mortality criteria of mother and newborn are expected
