Abstract:
In this article, we propose a general structure for designing a research protocol of an observational epidemiological study. We start by highlighting the importance of the research protocol, namely in accounting for some bias and guaranteeing methodologic rigor and study reproductability. Next, we reflect on some of the essential elements of a research protocol no matter its objective. We further present some specific issues to be included according to the type of study: cross-sectional, case-control and cohort.

Abstract This paper reports the differences between two methodologies for threshold detection of added resistive loads in children and adolescents. The first-generation apparatus utilized a series of laminar flow screens to present various total resistances, while in the second generation the apparatus utilized a servo-controlled cone that occluded an aperture to varying degrees. Protocol modifications in the second generation methodology included forced choice, attentional enhancements, and larger increments of added resistance. Rather, this paper should be read as an “options paper,” in which alternative formulations of objectives, outcome measures, study design, and protocol instrumentation are reviewed, with critical discussion of the

Hence, IETF requires at least two distinct, interoperable implementations before accepting a proposal as an Internet standard. To improve the quality of the IETF standards, we propose a bridging methodology which uses a semi-formal and a formal description technique to bridge from English to a more precise specification. Therefore, there are new challenges for routing protocols in MANETs since traditional routing protocols may not be suitable for MANETs. The use of formal methods allows for clear and unequivocal specification of a system's design, and makes possible a form of prototyping that allows for formal validation against system requirements. It is proposed that one of the obstacles to the adoption of formal methods is the difficulty of bridging the gap between a formally-specified system and a working implementation. Abstract:
Review question / Objective: The aim of this systematic review is to critically evaluate the current evidence regarding the immersive technology interventions in sexual victims in terms of applied methodology and patient-related outcomes. Accordingly, this systematic review will address the following questions: 1) what are the general methodological features (study design, sample and related variables, intervention content and related variables, so forth) of immersive technology interventions targeting sexually victimized individuals, 2) to what extent immersive technology interventions target

Abstract:
The Food Information Regulation (FIR) states that accurate and understandable allergen information needs to be supplied to consumers for the 14 priority allergens. Food allergies affects between 1-2% of the UK population, with some allergens responsible for hospital admissions with anaphylaxis. Food businesses have a legal responsibility to provide food that is safe, which means declaring allergens present as ingredients and warning consumers about their potential unintended presence due to cross-contact. A system needs to be implemented for testing allergens in foods, responding to incidents,

Abstract:
Following a review of Vital Signs – indicators of ecosystem health – in the coastal parks of the Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN), knowledge of shoreline change was ranked as the top variable for monitoring. Shoreline change is a basic element in the management of any coastal system because it contributes to the understanding of the functioning of the natural resources and to the administration of the cultural resources within the parks. Collection of information on the vectors of change relies on the establishment of a rigorous system of protocols to monitor elements of the coasta
