Abstract:
The diploma thesis focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of cost control methodology. The effort is to introduce individual tools and methods for cost management. I introduce various instruments for cost management and outline the connections of company costs, systems of their records and their interaction in the form of cost optimization. At the beginning I explain the importance of cost, the reasons for cost management, cost management concepts and their types according to purpose. Then I focus on methodology of costs calculations and budgets as tools for operating cost control. Last

The application of computers in the manufacturing industry has substantially altered the control procedures used to program a whole manufacturing process. Currently, one the problems which automated manufacturing systems are experiencing is the lack of a good overall control system. The subject of this research has been centred on the identification of the problems involved in current methods of control and their advantages and disadvantages in an automated manufacturing system. As a result, a different type of control system has been proposed which distributes both the control and the decisio

Fixtures are used to fixate, position and support workpieces, and are critical elements in manufacturing processes. Machining is one of these manufacturing processes, and this is often done by computer numerical control (CNC) machines. A major trend observed in production industry is that manufacturing is increasingly done in small batches in combination with a quick changeover from one product to another, in combination with a surge in automation. Several novel fixture concepts have been developed that allow for a reconfiguration of the fixture layout, such that different types of workpieces

The cost of developing and implementing an automated manufacturing system is high, and is particularly so if the control system is found to be unreliable or unsafe during operation. This study demonstrates a new nonlinear controller design methodology applicable to automotive suspension systems. It enhances the ability of the designer to tackle the complex design problem of a controller for a computer-controlled suspension. Based on the principles of optimal control, it permits the use of more general system models and cost functions than the standard linear optimal design techniques and hence, increases the freedom of the designer. It implements the control with an optimal, nonlinear feedback law and is shown to have the potential to improve vehicle performance.
