Abstract:
In order to strengthen the cooperation ability between the owner and the consultant and improve the project management performance of the whole process engineering consulting, this study firstly introduces knowledge sharing as a mediator variable and constructs a theoretical model between trust and contract governance—knowledge sharing—project management performance. A structural equation model was then used to empirically test the questionnaire data. The results show that contract governance indirectly promotes project performance through the intermediary of explicit knowledge sharing, and trust indirectly promotes project performance through the intermediary of knowledge sharing (explicit knowledge sharing and tacit knowledge sharing). Based on the above, for further analysis of the complex antecedent configuration and improvement path that affect management performance, fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis was used for group analysis with contract governance, trust, explicit knowledge sharing, and tacit knowledge sharing as conditional variables and project management performance as the outcome variable. The results show that there are two parallel paths that can improve the whole process engineering consulting project management performance: contract governance*explicit knowledge sharing*tacit knowledge sharing→project management performance and contract governance*trust*explicit knowledge sharing→project management performance. Finally, through analysis of the research results, it is suggested that in whole process engineering consulting projects, the owner and the consultant should actively promote the willingness and behavior of the consultant to share knowledge based on therational use of trust and contract governance, to better improve project management performance.

Abstract:
The article reveals the state and prospects for the development consulting’s management for international scientific and technical cooperation in Europe and Ukraine. It is shown that the existing gap between the Ukrainian scientific and technical community and the world can be overcome with the use of modern information tools and means of digital communications. To increase the intensity scientific and technical communications of Ukrainian scientists with European scientific and technical space, it is proposed to develop consulting based on a specialized national Internet portal. The essence of the main concepts of consulting in international scientific and technical activity is analyzed in detail. Certain problems were identified and an assessment of factors influencing the implementation of consulting was carried out in order to intensify the participation of domestic scientists in international projects. The special place of national contact points in the organization of consulting in international scientific and technical cooperation is also defined. The analysis of national portals of European countries was carried out and the factors of their influence on the implementation of consulting in scientific and technical activities were evaluated. Recommendations for the creation of an information system of the national portal of Ukraine to promote the development of consulting management processes in international scientific and technical cooperation are proposed. It is shown that this will allow further development of new methods for identifying indicators, using which it will be possible to manage the effectiveness of consulting in the field of international scientific and technical cooperation.

Abstract:
PURPOSE: This paper proposes a triangular relationship between business consulting, knowledge absorptive capacity, and innovativeness. The role of knowledge absorptive capacity in stimulating the impact of business consulting on innovativeness is studied. METHODOLOGY: An empirical study is conducted using the CATI method, and it is based on data concerning 382 Polish micro and small enterprises. Qualitative variables reflecting using business consulting, knowledge absorptive capacity and innovativeness are defined. The multivariate discrete choice model taking into account relationships among these constructs, is proposed and its parameters are estimated. FINDINGS: The results of the empirical research indicate that business consulting in Poland and similar countries may help firms implement innovative solutions. Knowledge absorptive capacity stimulates innovativeness and has a positive impact on the relationship between using business consulting and improvement in innovativeness. Though the frequency of using business consulting is an important factor in improving innovativeness, cooperation between a consultant and a manager matters more. IMPLICATIONS: Results of the empirical research indicate that cooperation between a consultant and a manager may help reduce differences of opinion and internal conflicts. A higher propensity to cooperate may significantly improve the functioning of an enterprise. Business consulting has an indirect and direct effect on innovativeness. It has a positive impact on knowledge absorptive capacity, while better knowledge stimulates innovativeness. ORIGINALITY AND VALUE: An original triangular model of the relationship between business consulting, knowledge absorptive capacity, and innovativeness is proposed. Advanced econometric methods are used in order to find complex relationships between using business consulting, knowledge absorptive capacity, and improvement in innovativeness. Moreover, results of the estimation of the parameters of the econometric model provide interesting recommendations for policies supporting the development of business consulting in the Polish economy.

Abstract:
The article, based on the analysis of the evolution of the service sector, examines the scientific and theoretical foundations of consulting activities, highlighting aspects of the structure, types of consulting, as well as the reasons for the demand for consulting services. In the process of scientific research is determined by the use of methods of analysis, synthesis, grouping, formed the conditions for the spread of demand for consulting services in the world. It is determined that the problems that arise in modern enterprises and the significant level of uncertainty in the business environment, which causes uncertainty for managers, necessitate seeking help. The rapid progress of management consulting is also due to the lack of agreed standards (as opposed to such types of consulting as law or accounting), which allows almost any specialist, even a little knowledgeable in this matter, to consult. Today, there is a trend of colonization by American and European consulting markets in Asia, India and Eastern Europe. Thanks to this geopolitics, leading consulting firms receive more than a third of their profits. Recently, counselling in the social and public sectors has become attractive and profitable. Significant attention in the study is focused on the level of competition in the field of consulting in the world. Therefore, it is determined that the effectiveness of counseling directly depends on the personal participation and professionalism of a particular counselor. In this regard, the mutual understanding of the consultant and the client and their fruitful cooperation become especially important. The problems, tendencies and challenges faced by enterprises that require the involvement of external business consultants are analyzed, as well as the problems that accompany consulting companies in the process of activity. The analysis emphasized the peculiarities of the process of managing business units, as well as the impact on the level of economic security of economic entities.

Whole Genome Sequencing Analysis of a Large Cohort of Staphylococcus epidermidis Blood Culture Positive Isolates From a Multicenter Clinical Trial." Abstract:
Abstract Background Staphylococcus epidermidis is a leading cause of healthcare-associated bacteremia, but the clinical course of S. epidermidis isolated from blood cultures ranges from contamination to serious deep seated infections. We tested the hypothesis that the genetic characteristics of S. epidermidis isolated from blood cultures are significantly associated with disease severity using whole genome sequencing (WGS). Methods We performed WGS of 163 S. epidermidis isolates from a large prospective multicenter, randomized control trial that assessed the safety and efficacy of algorithm-based treatment of patients with staphylococcal bacteremia (ClinicalTrials.gov #NCT01191840). Patient’s infection types were divided into simple (including possible contamination), uncomplicated and complicated bacteremia. Failure was defined as persistent signs and symptoms of infection at 72 hours, persistent bacteremia at 7 days, relapse, complications or overall mortality within 28 days of therapy. WGS was performed using Illumina Miseq, followed by in silico multi-locus sequence type identification and phylogenomic analysis using kSNP. Results Of the 163 isolates analyzed, 39 sequence types (STs) were identified with ST2 and ST5 isolates being most frequently identified (21% and 20%, respectively). ST2 and ST5 isolates were significantly more likely associated with uncomplicated and complicated infections rather than simple bacteremia (P = 0.01 by χ2 test). By multivariate regression analysis, having an ST2 or ST5 S. epidermidis bacteremia was an independent predictor of a complicated infection (odds ratio 4.28, 95% CI 1.36–13.42). Using WGS based branching points rather than sequence typing allowed for additional strengthening of the association of S. epidermidis genetic clustering and clinical infection types (figure). Although there was no significant difference in failure rates among patients infected with different STs, ST2/ST5 strains were significantly more likely to cause relapsing infections (85.7%, P = 0.02). Conclusion WGS could offer a prognostic tool in the management of S. epidermidis bacteremia. ST2 and ST5 strains may help predict a complicated bacteremia course which would warrant appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Disclosures T. L. Holland, Basilea: Consultant, Consulting fee. Abstract:
In the present-day business environment, management consulting has emerged as a key strategic resource for enterprises seeking to enhance their market position and improve competitiveness. This study aims to explore the specific characteristics and applications of management consulting in modern enterprises. A range of scientific methods were employed, including analytical methods to assess the current state of the global management consulting market, systematization methods to outline the primary opportunities and risks associated with management consulting in relation to enterprise competitiveness, and generalization methods to identify prevailing trends in the development of management consulting in Ukraine. The findings suggest that management consulting serves as a vital asset for organizations striving to strengthen their market presence, optimize operational efficiency, and adapt to the evolving challenges of the modern economy. The results indicate that engaging management consultants not only improves overall productivity but also enables firms to respond more swiftly and effectively to shifts in market conditions and competitive pressures. Through the involvement of external experts, enterprises are able to focus on core business processes while relying on specialized knowledge to address complex challenges. This, in turn, facilitates innovation and accelerates decision-making processes. Several key trends shaping the future of management consulting in Ukraine were identified by authors. These include the increasing demand for strategic consulting services to support economic recovery, the rising prominence of human resource (HR) consulting for optimizing workforce management, the growing importance of operational consulting for process optimization, and the integration of digital technologies for enterprise automation and digital transformation. Future research should investigate comparative developments in management consulting between Ukraine and other countries with well-established consulting markets.

Abstract:
This research explores the potential of large language models (LLMs) to revolutionize client communication in management consulting. Through a comprehensive analysis of current LLM capabilities and consulting industry needs, we propose a framework for integrating these AI technologies to enhance consultant-client interactions. Our mixed-methods study combines a systematic literature review, expert interviews, and a quantitative survey of 250 consulting professionals. Results indicate that LLMs can significantly improve communication efficiency, personalization, and knowledge transfer in consulting engagements. Key applications include automated report generation, real-time language translation, and AI-assisted Q&A systems. However, challenges around data privacy, model bias, and maintaining the human touch in consulting relationships must be addressed. This paper contributes to the growing body of research on AI applications in professional services and offers practical guidelines for consulting firms seeking to leverage LLMs responsibly.

Abstract:
We are amidst a period of radical change in Management Consulting worldwide. The latter half of the twentieth century has seen major extensions to the range of services promoted under the umbrella of Management Consulting. The traditional Management Consulting Firms, such as McKinsey & Co., tend to provide strategy consulting. By contrast, the other multinational Management Consulting Firms have focused on Business Process Re-engineering and other services with an Information Technology emphasis. Significantly, several multinational Management Consulting Firms have come under the control of Information Technology companies. As yet, very little research has been conducted into the issues that Management Consultants face in Australia. This research project provides an empirical investigation aimed at identifying these issues. In doing so, the study intends to answer the following research question "What are the major issues facing Management Consulting Firms in Australia?" To assist in answering this overarching question the study endeavours to address three investigative questions (1) What is the relative severity of issues facing Management Consulting Firms in Australia? (2) What are the Knowledge Management related issues facing Management Consulting Firms in Australia? And (3) What distinctions can be made between Knowledge Management issues and approaches of small-medium sized Management Consulting Firms and large Management Consulting Firms? This thesis is a compilation and comparison of evidence gathered from four separate but related sub-studies into the Management Consulting industry. The first, a Context Case Study of Management Consulting issues faced by small-medium sized firms, aimed to generate a rich, qualitative description of the study context, which, in turn, provides background to a larger follow-up Issues Delphi Study. Interpretation of the data gathered for the Context Case Study focuses on gaps between the literature and observed practice. The Issues Delphi Study garners response from members of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) in two survey rounds that inventory issues and then gauge their importance. In addition, an exploratory and descriptive case study was performed to investigate Knowledge Management Strategies and Practices in the Australian branch of Accenture, a well known International Management Consulting Firm. Though the Accenture Case Study has an operational emphasis, both macro and micro issues of Knowledge Management are considered; macro issues pertain to the strategic leverage of Knowledge Assets, while micro issues pertain to creation, transfer and reuse of knowledge within the firm, and between the firm and its clients. Knowledge Management is identified as essential to the achievement of sustained competitive advantage for all Professional Service Firms; of which Management Consulting Firms are a subset. As such, a conceptual analysis of the Knowledge in Professional Service Firms model, developed by Empson and Morris (1998), was performed to enhance the researchers understanding of Knowledge Management in Management Consulting Firms. The analysis of the model's constructs and their relationships assists the researcher's analysis of data gathered from the other three sub-studies. In addition, the attempt to develop several model variants is explored and an argument for the resulting final model variant which incorporates a new construct, Knowledge Management, is presented. Finally, the study compares the issues identified from the four separate sub-studies. The issues gathered are mapped into Knowledge in Professional Service Firms model, providing useful insights into the importance of sound Knowledge Management practices in small, medium and large Management Consulting Firms.

The management consulting industry is growing. The industryis also described as being exposed to increased pressure fromthe environment. An interesting question is then how resourcesare managed in management consulting firms in order tosustain competitive advantage. The purpose with this thesis isto investigate how firms in the management consulting industrymanage their resources through the lens of the resourcemanagement framework and if there are any signs of change.Through a multiple case study of the processes in two largemanagement consulting firms, the activity (i.e. the use ofresources) perceived as important for the leveraging ofcompetitive advantage is studied. The findings suggest thatcustomers have a much more central part in the resourcemanagement process than depicted in the resourcemanagement framework. The clearest signs of change refer tothe development of new career paths and an increased globalintegration of competencies.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to study the interplay between agile and mechanistic management control and the motivation of the employees affected by them, and thereby contribute to the understanding of how management control interplays with motivation. Research question: How does agile and mechanistic management control interplay with employees’ motivation in the management consulting profession? Methodology: Qualitative research with Semi-structured interviews. Seven management consultants from different firms were interviewed. Findings: Agile management control was found to be somewhat more commonly occurring than mechanistic management control among the respondents. Agile management control was seen as more motivating than mechanistic. Personal development was found to be the most prevalent part of intrinsic motivation in this study. Contributions: This paper contributes to the existing literature by offering a perspective of management control’s interplay with motivation specifically for management consultants. This interplay can be seen as being focused on personal development, possibly due to the employees’ motivation to choose this field.

Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter summarizes the benefits and limitations of four jokes-based research methods used to explore different ethical challenges and cases. They can be used in different business fields, but are illustrated for common transgressions in management consulting. The four methods are jokes-based illustration, jokes-based interviewing, jokes-based survey design and jokes-based content analysis. This summarizing chapter indicates how jokes-based methods give valid results. The jokes-based methods can be used to study professional ethics, business ethics, and transgressions in other domains where norms are commonly violated, such as with old versus new traditions, new fashions, the use of new technologies etc. The jokes-based methods are developed to support research, but they can also be used in educational programs with research assignments. The chapter concludes with a reflection on the normative and critical value of jokes, next to their descriptive qualities that are useful in research.

Abstract:
Gamification has been a topical item in education, marketing, human resources management, business, and organisational consulting in the past decade. Nowadays, companies have a wider range of available organisational consultations: organisational supervision is developing, coaching is popular, and there is a wide offer of business training sessions. This study aims to research gamification in organisational consulting, analyse the differences in the opinions regarding the use and availability of gamification in the professional activities of coaches, supervisors and business trainers. The survey developed by the authors of the study consisted of four sets of items (Information about Gamification, Application and Availability of Gamification, Believing Gamification Methods, Team/Group Responsiveness to Gamification) and two additional statements for the purpose of confirming the responses given by the respondents regarding their beliefs in gamification as an effective method and their readiness to use it. The associations related to the game and gamification were also researched. The questionnaire about gamification in the professional activities of supervisors, coaches and business trainers was sent electronically to professionals practising in Latvia. Questionnaires from 85 respondents were received and processed. The results demonstrated no statistically significant differences in the opinions of coaches, supervisors and business trainers regarding the use of gamification in organisational consulting. It was found out that the concept of gamification has not been sufficiently explained and there is still no common understanding regarding it in Latvia. More than half or 55 % of the 85 respondents in the survey do not know where to acquire gamification. At the same time, 91 % of the respondents in the survey specify that they are willing to acquire the methods of gamification. The authors of the study believe that it is important to proceed with the research in organisations to find out the experience of the organisations in gamification and to develop gamification training programmes for the organisations.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of experimental work on consulting support of professional practice of a teacher, which introduces local innovations. These innovations are initiated by teachers who need advice on developing a project to implement them in their professional activities. Innovative changes developed by the teacher infringe the order in the implementation of existing professional practice, which leads to the need for its technologization. The presented circumstances actualize consulting support as a form of teacher training directly at the workplace. The purpose of the research stated in the publication is to identify the impact of consulting support on the formation of competencies of consulted ones on the implementation of local innovations developed by them in their own professional practice. Consulting support of technologization by teachers-clients of their own professional practice, after the introduction of local innovative changes, was implemented in a mixed type, combining offline and online formats. The authors of the publication propose to evaluate the success of participants in consulting support for the products developed in its process: the project of technologization of professional practice and the program for its implementation. The obtained data were statistically processed using the parametric method of variance analysis. Statistical processing of the data obtained confirmed the effectiveness of this approach. Professional growth and motivation of educational institution specialists are regulated with statistical accuracy by consulting, which acts as an educational management practice. The consulting on the development of local innovations should be carried out continuously to support the teacher's strategically significant needs, and not just their fragmentary situational requests.

Abstract:
Many electric utilities in the United States are involved with construction of both combined cycle and combustion turbine generation. These utilities and the industry, as a whole, have the opportunity to carefully examine methods of equipment optimization when developing these new power stations. The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) anticipates installing at least three large combined cycle units and several smaller aero-derivative combustion turbine units within the next 15 years. As a generation owner and operator, FMPA management is examining lessons learned by other utilities, original equipment manufacturers and consulting engineers to develop a cost-effective approach to equipment standardization. This evaluation focuses on design, equipment procurement, as well as long-term operation and maintenance requirements.
