Abstract:
This paper is devoted to the investigation of the motivation concept, study and analysis of foreign experience in motivating employees and the selection of elements that can be adapted in Ukrainian enterprises. The theoretical foundations of the staff motivation concept are considered in this paper. It is found that the staff motivation has significant impact on the staff and enterprise efficiency. The main tasks of employee motivation are determined. They are as follows: the formation of understanding of the employees motivation system, the establishment of psychological climate in the team; creating democratic approaches to personnel management. The main types of staff motivation are identified as tangible and intangible. The main means of material and intangible employees motivation are considered. Since without the staff interest it is impossible to solve the enterprise problems, motivation becomes an important task for the enterprise. In order to increase the material and moral interest of employees, to develop and improve the incentive mechanism the experience of developed countries in this area is taken into account in this paper. Foreign experience is considered to identify the optimal model of employee motivation at Ukrainian enterprises. Motivation systems of such leading countries as Japan, France, USA and Germany are studied. The ways of motivating employees in such leading companies as Google, Zappos, Huffington Post, Procter & Gamble, Apple, IBM and AT&T, Nihon Shokken are considered. Elements of French, German, American and Japanese motivation systems are generalized. The main elements of these foreign systems of employee motivation are identified: individualization of wages; incentives for staff training, arrangement of recreation areas, motivational monitoring, etc. From foreign experience, we can seen that motivation makes it possible to solve the problems related to the improvement of employee productivity. Therefore, the elements that can be adapted to national traditions of personnel management and used in Ukrainian enterprises for effective human resource management are highlighted in this paper.

Abstract:
Nowadays, organizations through the appropriate motivational activities create employee behavior. They should apply available material and non-material incentives in a sustainable manner. Therefore, it is necessary to create such a motivation system within the organization’s activity that will generate employees’ right attitudes, beneficial for them and for the entire organization as well. The purpose of the work was to determine the employees’ subjective feelings related to motivational instruments used in the company. The research object was EnergiaPro S.A. with its registered seat in Wroclaw. The basic research technique was a survey, which was carried out anonymously among the employees of the administrative division. Research has shown that the company uses methods of material and non-material motivation. Employees particularly appreciate the system of cash incentives, especially bonuses. It is the motivator for them to work more efficiently. Not without significance for them is also non-cash motivating (training, social allowances and the use of additional leave). They have positive feelings about the correctness of the motivational methods used, although their expectations regarding cash motivation, especially salaries, are higher. They expect wage increases and fair awards, recognizing that this is a major problem in the company.

Abstract:
Object: This article examines the issues of comparative analysis of short, that is, near and long perspectives from the point of view of their impact on employee motivation. Another goal of the article is to develop practical recommendations for the development of Far Distant (Long-term) Motivation in the wage system. Methods: This study uses quantitative research methods and a trending data collection method. The data were collected through a survey using the same questionnaire in 1994 and in 2010, which made it possible to identify the dynamics of changes in employee motivation. The sample size was 250 respondents. Findings: The results show that long-term perspectives at work play a huge role for workers. Second, Far Distant Motivation is unfortunately underestimated by employers, as a result of which the potential for increasing employee productivity is not fully exploited. Conclusions: Research shows that Far Distant Motivation should become an essential element of the motivation system in a company focused on competitiveness. Its presence will increase the competitiveness of the company, the productivity of employees and achieve the integration of personnel into the strategic goals of the company. The widespread practice of Short-Term Motivation based on assessment and remuneration based on short-term results for certain categories of workers has significantly less motivational power than Far Distant Motivation based on assessment of merit and long-term performance results. Therefore, modern companies must build a combination of Short and Far Distant Motivation.

Abstract:
AbstractAs part of a larger longitudinal study, this paper examines the development of Chinese students' EFL learning motivation throughout university undergraduate study, in an increasingly globalized local context. The study adopted a social constructivist perspective of language learning and combined research methods; the participants were over 1,000 undergraduates from 5 universities. The quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire (based on Gao et al. 2004) including motivational intensity and motivation types – instrumental, cultural, and situational, implemented annually from university entrance to graduation. The qualitative data consisted of individual and group interviews, student journals, and observations. Integrated data analysis revealed that sustained high-level long-term instrumental motivations coexisted with an increase of L2- oriented cultural motivations and situational motivation, particularly in the first and fourth year. The increased L2-oriented cultural motivations indicated neither ``ntegrativeness'' in the sense of becoming a member of the native English speaker community, nor a culturally neutral ``global identity.'' The increase of such L2- oriented cultural motivations was also accompanied by a sustained ``social responsibility'' motivation oriented to learners' home culture. Such complexities of motivational development call for further investigation in increasingly globalized EFL contexts.

Abstract:
Employee motivation is a prerequisite for the effective development of the potential of human resources. Therefore, motivation processes are important. The aim of the paper was to define the motivational priorities of white-collar employees in forest enterprises. Following the research results, cluster analysis statistical methods were used to define employee groups with similar motivations. The research was carried out in 11 forest enterprises with 195 total respondents. The results indicated that it is possible to create a unified motivation program with selected motivation factors for white-collar employees in forest enterprises. Defined groups had similar levels of motivation in individual motivation factors. Three significant motivation factors were determined: basic salary, working environment, and fair appraisal system. These motivation factors can be systematically implemented as a tool to improve the level of motivation of individual groups. It is important to consider that conditions and work environments change over time, so an effective motivation program must be updated regularly in order to produce sustained benefits.

Aim. To assess the importance, role, methods and conditions for creating and sustaining positive motivation of medical personnel in deploying a modern management system based on lean production to optimise the production flow in medical institutions, improve quality, availability and efficiency of public medical care.Materials and methods. The authors employed historical, bibliometric and statistical methods to analyse domestic and foreign scientific archives on lean production, motivation and motivational risks as key factors in implementing lean technologies in medical institutions.Results. Implementation of lean production (LP) as a manufacturing management system is among key conditions for creating a new model of the medical institution. Principles of LP are applied at three interfaces: with patients, personnel and resources. Positive motivation of employees is prerequisite for accomplishing a project, which requires supervisors to know and leverage the basics of motivational management. Creation of a motivating environment for various categories of employees in developing a LP system requires taking into account the type and management culture level of a medical institution.Conclusion. In order to create and sustain motivation for realising creative potential of the team, it is necessary to account for the motivation risks, develop and implement a motivation system differentially by employee categories and project stages. Effective motivational measures are necessarily based on a system of material and non-material incentives with clear and achievable criteria, amounts and forms valued by employees and rooted in medical and economic feedback of implementing the LP principles.

Abstract:
Employee motivation is very important for a successful organization, so any company should focus on motivating human resources if they want to stay competitive on the market and to avoid issues, such as employee retention problems that will adversely affect the business. Thus, effective motivational techniques should be implemented in any company that wants to be successful. Following the implementation of motivation methods adapted to the organization's environment and its type of employees, the satisfaction of workers will increase, and they will feel more motivated to perform at the highest standards. Studies have shown that motivating factors, such as success at work, recognition, diversification of responsibilities and career advancement, play an important role in motivating employees at work. It is important to strike a fragile balance between the level of challenges that the job brings and the resources made available to the employee. Packages that combine financial and non-monetary motivation, with coaching and mentoring activities, investing in employee development, as well as the flexibility of the work schedule, are major components of stimulating work motivation.

Abstract:
Nowadays the situation in the sphere of social and economic development of Russia determines the special importance of organization activity of credit and financial orientation. The insufficient efficiency of activities of the credit and financial organizations of modern Russia is a consequence the low production of personnel’s work, one of the reasons of which is the existing system of motivation and stimulation. Middle managers in financial institutions are an important part of management personnel. They are the link in the organization: it is impossible to obtain results from managers of other levels and the organization as a whole without their effective work. Today the role of middle managers in achievement of efficiency of organizational activities is underestimated. The system of their motivation and stimulation needs enhancement. The article presents the data of a sociological survey, which analyzed the state of the system of motivation and incentives for managers of middle management in 10 modern Russian credit and financial organizations, and the application of specific methods, forms and tools of motivation are explored. The methods and their forms of motivating and stimulating the work of mid-level managers in the credit and financial organizations of modern Russia do not constitute a system. It is a conglomeration of different approaches, schemes, methods, means that do nоt constitute a single whole. At the present time the system of motivation and stimulation of middle managers can not be considered balanced and sufficient. It lags far behind the best foreign analogs and needs substantial optimization. Moreover, the task of catching-up modernization, and the task of primacy in the world market of banking services, is not facing Russian financial institutions The authors formulate directions for improving the motivation and incentives for middle managers in Russian credit and financial organizations, and give recommendations on the use of motivational methods and tools.

Abstract:

The aims of this qualitative research were to investigate the level of motivation and learning of ninth grade students in mathematics classrooms in Thailand and to reveal how the teachers supported students’ levels of motivation and learning. The participants were 333 students and 12 teachers in 12 mathematics classrooms from four regions of Thailand. The results showed, first, that the students’ levels of learning ranged from low to moderate-high while the levels of motivation were from moderate to high. In addition, most students had intrinsic motivation; however, some students still lacked motivation and were only motivated by external sources. Second, teachers enhanced students’ learning by encouraging them to learn as a whole class the most by using lectures and asking questions. The other top methods were allowing time for self-paced learning and answering, and relying on internal sources of motivation using positive interpersonal and group activities. Most teachers employed both autonomy-supportive and controlling motivating styles in classroom. Even with a variety of motivating methods, the students’ learning did not seem to be supported adequately, especially for students who showed a low level of learning.

Abstract:
The Interior Design courses emphasizing accuracy requires high learning motivation. One stimulus to grow motivation is by applying teaching methods that are in accordance with the characteristics of the course, namely cyber learning methods that also facilitate accuracy and efficiency. The purpose of this research is to improve learning motivation in interior design courses through cyber learning methods employing steps of project-based learning (PjBL). The study included quasiexperiments using two-group post test design. The instrument of learning motivation was adapted from McClelland’s motivational theory. The number of participants was 60 students divided in two groups. The first students group learned by using conventional methods (control group), while the second students group learned by using cyber methods (experimental group). The number of learning was 10 meetings. After completing the meetings, the two groups were measured based on the learning motivation. The results of the study indicate that cyber learning methods can increase student’s learning motivation in interior design courses. Result shows that the experimental group of students has higher learning motivation than students in control group who were leaved uninterfered with the conventional method—the lectures.

Abstract:
L2 de-motivation has considerable role in diminishing or slowing down the second/L2 (English) learning outcomes. However, L2 de-motivation in general and the context of Pakistan in particular is under-researched. So, the main purpose of the study is to identify various L2 de-motivational factors of the BS Undergraduate L2 learners of the Department of English of a remote and under-researched Kohat University of Science and Technology, Khyber Pakhtunhwa, Pakistan. Drawing upon the questionnaires of the well referenced L2 de-motivation experts and also adding some items related to gender and anxiety oriented L2 de-motivation, a modified closed ended questionnaire of 40 items was developed. The data was obtained from 400 (250 Male and 150 Females) L2 learners was analysed by applying the rarely used but much recommended exploratory factor analysis. Total 08 L2 de-motivational factors emerged: Teacher, syllabus, non communicative methods, L2 anxiety, lack of classroom resources, unfavourable classroom environment and rarely noted gender related L2 de-motivational factors. Moreover, in this study in contrast to earlier studies in Pakistan, we are able to not only identify the various L2 de-motivational factors in well defined forms but also construct and validate the modified questionnaire with the help of applying factor analysis. Thus the questionnaire can be exploited for future research in field of L2 de-motivation in general and particularly in Pakistan. Similarly, unlike the earlier studies, learners' negative attitudes towards English and learning its culture did not emerge as a L2 de-motivational factor. Moreover, new but equally contesting gender related L2 de-motivational factor also emerged. This study highlights that L2 teachers should adopt motivating teaching methods, interesting teaching materials and develop interesting syllabus. Moreover, L2 learners' needs analysis be given more importance for addressing their L2 de-motivation and thus enhancing their language proficiency in the Higher Education in Pakistan.

Abstract:
The article analyzes one of the main problems of physical rehabilitation of children with psychomotor disorders – the problem of motivation in corrective motor activity. This determined the aim – to determine the main directions of the motivational sphere formation in the process of correctional play activity of children with psychomotor disorders. The following research methods were used: the method of analysis, which made it possible to identify the main characteristics and types of motivational support of children for various types of activity; the method of pedagogical observations and the method of synthesis revealed the powerful method of motivating – theatricalization of the correctional process using physical education. The research results were expressed in the definition of the concepts: motive, motivational field, motivational impulse, which are the components of the concept of motivation, the variety of which is defined in four types. There were made following conclusions: The motivation of corrective motor-play activity is based on the unconscious influences of the unconscious, caused by the external use by the teacher of the corresponding children's fairy-tale archetypes and the emotional experiences, caused by them. One of the main methods of increasing motivation is the use of the possibilities of pedagogical "drama" in the form of a method of dosed dramatization of the motor-game plot of a remedial lesson, which should be considered as a physical culture fairy tale. For the implementation of effective dramatic motivation, it is necessary to provide points of dramatization of different influence strength.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the research of modern methods of bank staff’s motivation. Authors analyse some aspects of functioning of a personnel motivation system, for example, PJSC СB "PRIVATBANK". The basic approaches of banking personnel’s motivation are revealed. Their characteristic features are considered. It is proved that the effective motivational mechanism in the bank is a system of economic, organizational and administrative, social and psychological methods of influencing motives of personnel work behaviour in order to develop their internal need for greater labour efficiency. As a result of the analysis, authors have constructed the economic and mathematical model for selecting the optimal motivation strategy for a staff. In the developed economic and mathematical model we have foreseen the elements that allow taking into account the status of bank employees, the level of their work evaluation, the use of social package’s elements and others. Such model can be used for analysis and making personnel rating for different periods of time, as well as for identification of peculiarities of motivation strategies in the work of personnel not only in the bank as a whole, but also in its individual units, branches, and units. In addition, this model can be modified both structurally and substantively. Results of analysis have been processed by Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets office program. Data analysis has been performed using the "Find a Solution" tool in spreadsheets, which allows finding keys for optimization problems with almost unlimited number of variables. As a result, it has been confirmed that the application of economic and mathematical methods is very effective in assessing modern methods of staff’s motivation. Also it has been reasoned that a mechanism of regulating labour motivation must effectively combine strategic interests of a bank with interests of its staff, the style of bank’s management with a system of effective labour motivation.

Abstract:
Abstract People are the most important asset category that an organization can use; none of them can exist without the human resources that make it up. However, paradoxically, they are also the only asset that can act against the goals of the organisation. From the same perspective, now, people can choose where to work or leave if they feel no pleasure anymore. Those who want to improve their living standards and reach a balance in their professional life will decide to leave their job if it is no longer satisfactory. a very important issue in the day-to-day activity of man is the motivation he/she feels for what he/she is doing. Motivation is a general term that describes the process of initiation, orientation and maintenance of physical and psychological activities, is a broad concept that includes a series of internal mechanisms, such as: the preference given to one activity over other activities, the enthusiasm and the force of a person’s reactions, the persistence of some organized action patterns (models) to achieve relevant objectives.

The article analyzes the means of word-formative motivation in the generation of a text. Text oriented functions of word-formative motivation are caused by the method of its representation in the text either through a word-formative structure of derived words, or by a derivational pair „form – derived”, or by a whole motivating judgment. If derivative motivation in the text is expressed only by a word building structure of a derivative as a carrier of its consequences, then it serves as a source of lexical-semantic construction material with a property of double reference. Word-formative motivation, which is expressed in the text by a word-formative pair „form – derived” or a motivational judgment, serves as a means of implementing connectivity, primarily local. Various methods of textual usage of word-formative motivation serve as a means of creating an artistic image, the formation of a linguistic expression, artistic expression of a text.

Abstract:
Introduction: The purposes of this study were to explore the factors that motivated and those that discouraged students from speaking English outside of the classroom at Asia-Pacific International University, Mauk Lek Campus. The university offers undergraduate programs in both English and Thai medium. The majority of Thai students who were enrolled in both programs notably lived in the University dormitories, which exposed them to students from 32 different countries, yet were still hesitant to speak English. Methods: Using the convenience sampling method, 197 students were selected to participate in this study. A descriptive quantitative method and a self-administered questionnaire were used to collect the data. Result: The findings reveal that motivation for speaking English outside the classroom was mainly for instrumental motivational reasons (M=4.17, SD=0.59), followed by integrative motivational reasons (M=3.74, SD=0.67). Less clear reasons were intrinsic motivation (M=3.41, SD=0.75) and extrinsic motivation (M=3.32, SD=0.82) motivations. The study also reported that factors such as inadequate vocabulary to speak effectively, insufficient knowledge of English grammar, and inability to speak English fluently and continuously, were perceived as hindering them from speaking English outside the classroom. Lastly, the study found statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level in instrumental motivation, intrinsic motivation, and extrinsic motivation when compared with gender, faculty, class status, program of study, and period of learning. Discussion: The recommendations for future research threefold: to study learning approaches to a variety of vocabularies which would enhance students’ communication outside of the classroom; to study participants from other nationalities; and to use a larger sample using other types of sampling and data collection methods.

This paper discusses the concept of “motivation” in relation to the process of music education. The most effective ways of teaching are highlighted, which allow achieving a high level of motivation among students learning music, among which the method of active learning is recognized as the most effective for achieving this goal. The system of various motives that induce the student to educational activity is considered. Particular attention is paid to the process of formation and development of motives and needs; emphasis is placed on the importance of a personal approach to learning, taking into account the individual characteristics and abilities of each student. The personality of the teacher and the nature of his relationship with students are recognized as one of the fundamental factors affecting the success of training. The main pedagogical conditions that contribute to the increase of the motivational sphere of students are highlighted, such as: a personal approach, the creation of a special motivational atmosphere, the aspiration for the transition to self-education and self-development, the choice of the most effective forms of work. The conclusion is made about the necessary presence of internal motivation for the process of learning a subject (in this case, music) for productive educational activity. The problems in the field of music education are revealed, which consists in the lack of psychological knowledge among music teachers about the specifics of the formation of the motivational sphere of students.

Abstract:
This study investigated multiple learning motivation aspects of Chinese university students in Macau majoring in Spanish and Portuguese. A mixed methods research was employed by using questionnaires and interviews. 181 learners (96 Portuguese and 85 Spanish majors) were surveyed about ten language-learning motivation dimensions by using a questionnaire. A subset of participants from questionnaires were later given follow-up interviews. Quantitative and qualitative data indicated that the students in these majors had strong intrinsic motivation but limited integrative motivation towards the target language community. Other motivational pull-factors were the heritage connection between the language and the place of study and interest in the pop-culture associated related to the target language. Students reported a decline in motivation during the middle years of study, however, Spanish students’ interest resurged by the end of year three. There was also a gender imbalance, suggesting that career-related aspects of motivations were stronger among males. The results also revealed that language learners had an ideal-self that was multilingual and cosmopolitan but did not aspire to integrate into a specific target-language community.

Abstract:
Background Research has shown that reading motivation is correlated with achievement. Studying motivation in older students is particularly important as reading motivation declines over the course of elementary and middle school. However, current research largely fails to reflect the nuance and complexity of reading motivation, or its variation within and across contexts. Purpose This mixed-methods study investigates whether distinct reading motivation/achievement profiles exist for adolescents and what key levers foster adolescents’ motivation to read. This approach was designed to produce more generalizable results than isolated case studies, while providing a more nuanced picture than survey research alone. Research Design Seventh graders (n = 68) at two diverse public charter schools serving low-income students were surveyed regarding reading motivation and attitude. A cluster analysis of survey results and reading achievement data was conducted. One student per cluster was selected from each school for additional qualitative analysis (n = 8), and students and teachers (n = 2) were observed and interviewed. In addition, cross-case and cross-school analyses were conducted to determine key levers which may promote students’ motivation to read. Conclusions This study suggests that four distinct reading achievement/motivation profiles may exist. In addition, teachers have substantial influence on adolescents’ motivation to read. Teachers could benefit from gathering more information about students’ reading motivation and from promoting feelings of autonomy, competence, and relatedness.

Abstract:
Summary Study aim: The purpose of the study was to explore the characteristics of the motivational factors and the motivational climate of elite hammer throwers in the most prestigious and most successful club in Hungary. Material and methods: The Sport Motivational Scale (SMS) and the Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire (PMCSQ) were used to assess the motivation and motivational climate among hammer throw athletes (N=23). Data were analysed with descriptive statistical methods. The independent sample t-test was applied for the determination of differences as related to success level, age, and gender. Also, correlation was used to find out what relationships exist among the variables. Results: Amotivation tends to be at low levels (M=2.48±1.40), while extrinsic motivation (M=4.68±0.79) and intrinsic motivation (M=4.40±0.95) can be considered to be at medium levels in the sample. There were no differences in motivation between elite and non-elite athletes and between athletes under and over 18 years of age. However, male throwers had a significantly higher level of intrinsic motivation (t=2.941, p=.008) and a significantly lower level of amotivation (t=-2.428, p=0.025) than female athletes. The sample had higher values of Task orientation (3.97±0.40) than Ego orientation (2.63±0.47). There were no differences detected in success level, gender, and age in the athletes’ motivational climate. The correlation in all cases seems to be generally low. Conclusions: The coach of this successful club focuses on creating a positive climate in which the athletes’ skill levels, goal orientation, age, and gender are matched with challenges and expectations. The relatively few differences in motivation and motivational climate prove that the coach provides continuous support on both the individual and group level. The coach does it not only with the athletes’ skills and conditioning, but also with their motivation and motivational climate.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: Motivation plays a central role in teachers’ instructional practices. Teaching quality and teacher effectiveness contribute positively to student achievement. In line with this, teachers face several tasks in their profession, and they exhibit various motivational levels consisting of different motivational constructs, such as intrinsic, introjected, identified, external motivation, and amotivation. Therefore, this study aims at revealing Turkish EFL teachers’ motivations towards the work tasks of class preparation, teaching, and evaluation of students, which all teachers have to conduct in their profession. Methods: To collect data, Work Tasks Motivation Scale for Teachers was used. The sample consisted of 1786 EFL teachers teaching throughout Turkey in all types of schools and locations across seven geographical regions. Results: The quantitative data revealed that motivational constructs vary according to the work tasks of class preparation, teaching, and evaluation of students indicating that teacher motivation has a multifaceted nature and is a non-uniform construct. Discussion: The results indicated that Turkish EFL teachers did not value the task of classroom preparation, while the task of evaluation of students seemed to be valued. Gender-based differences also indicated that female teachers had higher amotivation and external regulation levels towards classroom preparation and teaching despite their higher levels of intrinsic motivation towards evaluation of students. In addition, considering age variable, the younger group of EFL teachers were found to be more intrinsically motivated towards teaching and evaluation of students compared to the older groups while being more amotivated towards the task of classroom preparation. Limitations: Despite the high number of the participants, the findings of the study are limited to the analyses of quantitative data as the main source. Conclusions: The findings of the study indicated that EFL teachers working in all regions and cities of Turkey demonstrated high levels of a) amotivation towards classroom preparation, b) introjected regulation towards teaching, and c) intrinsic motivation towards evaluation of students. Moreover, EFL teachers’ work task motivations displayed variations based on their gender, their age, the location and the type of their school. Further research could investigate potential reasons for the differences in EFL teachers’ motivation levels while further increasing the reliability of the results by integrating qualitative data through interviews, observations, or teacher diaries.
