Abstract:
Detta examensarbete har utförts i samarbete med ett företag som önskar vara anonymt i rapporten. Företaget har nyligen fått höjda produktionsmål då de fått ta över produktion från en fabrik som håller på att avvecklas. Då arbetskraften fortfarande är densamma har detta lett till att de anställda får jobba övertid. Studien har huvudsakligen fokuserats på en avdelning inom företaget men till viss del har studien också krävt att mindre delar av de två andra avdelningarna också studerades. Syftet med projektet var att se över hur arbetsprocessen kunde effektiviseras så att målen kan nås utan att personalen behöver jobba övertid. Som ramverk för projektet användes en version av Six Sigmas lösningsmetodik DMAIC, nämligen RDMAIC, där en Recognize-fas har lagts till i starten av arbetet. Projektet innefattar en mängd metoder och verktyg, där de flesta härstammar från Lean Production, däribland SMED och Kaizen Event. Med andra ord har examensarbetet utförts som ett Lean Six Sigma-projekt. Utöver detta har fokus även lagts på motivation och hur detta påverkar de anställda, exempelvis genom djupintervjuer. Genom att analysera relevanta teorier om hur människor motiveras har författarna också kunnat ge rekommendationer på vilka åtgärder som eventuellt kan vidtas för att försöka höja operatörernas motivation och förbättra stämningen på avdelningen. Genom studien kommer förhoppningsvis det aktuella företaget kunna få en inblick i hur det kan förbättras. Studien visar bland annat att Kaizen Event är något som kan ha stor inverkan på både produktion och motivation.

Abstract:
Aim of this thesis is to show practical usage of Six Sigma tools. Six sigma is considered a system of quality control, managerial style or methodology. It is always supported by solid data as it originates in statistics.. Concept is used for improvement of current processes, design of new ones or their better management with one ultimate goal -- refinement of business results. Core of its success is a customer oriented focus and expectation fulfilment. Six Sigma tools can be employed across all business actvities from manufacture to administration. Practical part describes employment of Six sigma tools in four separate chapters. Tools were applied on a real existing company. I am focused on Voice of Customer in the first chapter, which is essential for all other activities across company. Its strong feature is customer feedback. Next chapter deals with 5S tools and their implementation in manufacturing plants and their benefits for company. Third and last chapter describe two projects, which were implemented to back office. Refinement processes were based on DMAIC procedure. Their goal was to accelerate pricing process and sublime output, which is critical for management decision.

Součástí diplomové práce jsou detailní analýzy příchozích hovorů a defektů při jejich přijímání.

The slow rate of corporate improvement is not due to lack of knowledge of six sigma or lean. Rather, the fault lies in making the transition from theory to implementation. Managers need a step-by-step, unambiguous roadmap of improvement that leads to predictable results. This roadmap provides the self-confidence, punch, and power necessary for action and is the principal subject of this research. Unique to this research is the way the integration of lean and six sigma is achieved; by way of an integration matrix formed by lean implementation protocols and six sigma project phases. This integration matrix is made more prescriptive by an integrated leanness assessment tool, which will guide the user given their existing level of implementation and integration. Further guidance in each of the cells formed by the integration matrix is provided by way of phase methodologies and statistical/non-statistical tools.<p>The output of this research is a software tool that could be used in facilities at any stage of lean implementation, including facilities with no existing lean implementation. The developed software tool has the capability to communicate among current and former project teams within any group, division, or facility in the organization. The developed software tool has also the capability to do data analysis (Example: Design of Experiments, Value Stream Mapping, Multi-Vari Analysis etc.). By way of the integration matrix, leanness assessment and the data analysis capability, the developed software tool will give managers a powerful tool that will help in their quest to achieve lean six sigma.<br>Master of Science

Lean Six Sigma is one of the tools organizations use to help their processes run faster and thus maximize their profits. It is a thorough approach that can reveal defects in companies' processes through examining customers' needs and its statistical data Its popularity spreads fast from the early adopters such as General Electric, Toyota or Motorola and many companies are keen to get their hands on it and achieve similar success as above mentioned. Czech companies are not different. There is, however, a tendency to lay it aside based on first time impressions. The most frequent reasons are: complexity, need to make dramatic changes in the company's culture and high initial costs. Main goal of this thesis is to show that Lean Six Sigma does not necessarily have to be a thorough approach. It can also be used as a one-time tool to improve company's processes, just by picking the right parts and combining them in the right order. This thesis describes the most useful tools and also shows how they can be used in the real situation. By aligning them in a row it also creates a framework for Lean Six Sigma implementation projects which can be used repeatedly. One chapter also describes various problems that might occur during the implementation and provides readers with possible solutions to overcome them.

The focal point of this master thesis is Lean Six Sigma methodology and its application on project from practice. Company Doosan Bobcat that has its principles implemented provides this real background. Bobcat still improve and educate itself in this area. Company offered a project from its logistics department that should optimize parts preparation for their transport from one warehouse to another, for this thesis. The project is solved within DMAIC cycle that is firstly described theoretically and then applied on. Then, the tools that are used in individual cycle phases are described as well. The results of the thesis are improvement suggestions, their implementation plan and control plan.

The work is built as real project od lean six sigma using some methods of the methodology lean six sigma. In the theoretical part of the thesis, methods of lean six sigma used in the practical part, are described. These methods are mainly methods of process mapping. Each chapter is a step of DMAIC methodology. Core part of the thesis is process mapping at a customer side, so in the other part there are all recommendations directly focused on customers requirements. The results of the work are suggested proposals for process improvement. Some of them were implemented during the project.

Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial<br>Na presente Dissertação é apresentado um estudo desenvolvido no PNAEQ – INSA.IP que visa a aplicação da metodologia Six Sigma na avaliação do parâmetro do sódio para o Erro total, resultante das medições laboratoriais dos participantes no programa, com intuito de mitigar os erros sistemáticos e melhorar a qualidade das medições clínicas em laboratórios clínicos e obterem resultados mais fidedignos. A seleção deste parâmetro advém do facto de os distúrbios mais frequentes nos indivíduos estarem relacionados com a concentração deste ião no organismo. A implementação do Six Sigma rege-se pelo ciclo DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control), que se decompõe em cinco etapas diferentes para se conseguir a melhoria desejada, onde são integradas diferentes ferramentas e técnicas da qualidade. O ciclo DMAIC permite a definição, preparação e análise dos objetivos propostos até à sua monitorização depois de implementada na Organização, por forma a controlar e garantir o sucesso desta melhoria, evitando os possíveis desvios. Para o efeito, foi selecionada uma amostra de 12 laboratórios participantes consistentes no período de 2009 a 2012, cuja localização geográfica se encontra mais ou menos uniformizada ao longo do território nacional. Foram analisados alguns dos parâmetros integrados nos relatórios resultantes da AEQ, nomeadamente os métodos de determinação utilizados e o coeficiente de variação (CV) interlaboratorial e intralaboratorial, sempre que possível. Foram estabelecidos pontos de monitorização da determinação do sódio em 1978 (1º ensaio de AEQ), em 1982-1983 e 1993-1994, tendo-se verificado uma inevitável evolução tecnológica e científica nos processos de determinação, sendo que no 1º ensaio de AEQ o CV rondava os 4% e os métodos utilizados eram manuais, actualmente o CV equivale a aproximadamente 2% e os métodos são totalmente automatizados. No entanto, o valor do erro total apresentado por uma parte dos laboratórios participantes está acima da especificação, de acordo com as tabelas de limites de especificação da AEFA. A determinação do erro total é fundamental na melhoria das medições laboratoriais, na medida em que se trata de um indicador da qualidade de limite para a imprecisão e inexatidão. É, entre outros, um indicador da qualidade de desempenho dos métodos e/ou equipamentos, sendo que, apesar de toda a amostra de participantes considerada utilizar o mesmo método, existem falhas inerentes ao modo como está a ser executada a acção. O nível actual da performance apresentado por estes laboratórios, ou nível sigma, é de 2,5 o que implica que estas entidades carecem de acções de melhoria por forma a aumentar a sua performance, sobretudo porque se trata de uma questão de saúde pública.

Dissertação para obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial<br>A filosofia Lean permite aumentar a produtividade através da eliminação de desperdícios, elevando a proporção das actividades que acrescentam valor aos processos. A filosofia Six Sigma, procura identificar os processos críticos com o objectivo de os melhorar. Ambas as filosofias, quando adequadamente implementadas, permitem às organizações tornarem-se mais competitivas. O Lean Six Sigma pretende melhorar o output dos processos, reduzindo o desperdício e a variabilidade destes. A Ergonomia pretende adequar os sistemas ao Homem, não pondo em risco a sua segurança, minimizando a exposição a factores de risco por falta de adaptação ergonómica, obtendo proactivamente um programa de melhoria contínua na fase inicial de qualquer actividade de concepção ou quando ocorrem alterações no fluxo de produtos ou processos. A implementação de paradigmas de produção, como a filosofia Lean, que reduzem os tempos de ciclo e aumentam a variedade de tarefas, tendem a aumentar a tensão fisiológica e psicológica dos trabalhadores. Deste modo, para evitar problemas de saúde para os trabalhadores e custos para as organizações, torna-se fundamental a integração dos aspectos relacionados com a saúde dos operadores aquando da implementação destas abordagens. A presente dissertação reflecte a importância que os princípios ergonómicos têm nas diferentes fases de implementação Lean Six Sigma. Nesse sentido foram desenvolvidas uma metodologia e uma ferramenta, DMAIC+ERG e plusERG, respectivamente. A metodologia baseia-se na inclusão de princípios ergonómicos em cada uma das etapas do ciclo DMAIC, utilizando várias ferramentas (SAMMIE, VSM e plusERG). O SAMMIE é um Human CAD que simula configurações de postos de trabalho, pelo que é uma importante ferramenta no apoio à reformulação dos mesmos, enquanto que o plusERG é um sistema de apoio à decisão, baseado em regras IF THEN, com o intuito de controlar a implementação dos princípios relacionados com a Ergonomia, fornecendo um conjunto de recomendações. Foram realizados três casos de estudo num atelier de decoração de interiores, tendo em vista a aplicação da metodologia e da ferramenta, criadas no âmbito deste trabalho, num contexto real. Os resultados obtidos não só demonstraram uma diminuição dos factores de risco para o operador, como também incrementaram a produtividade da empresa.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to apply Lean Six Sigma methodology on a specific improvement project in manufacturing company Lindab, s.r.o. The purpose of the project is to reduce number of complaints from inner customer, improve quality of selected product and increase overall effectiveness of manufacturing process. The first part of the thesis focuses on theoretical basis of Lean Six Sigma methodology. Each chapter in this part corresponds to one phase of DMAIC improvement cycle. Theoretical part contains descriptions of methods, tools and techniques used in practical part. The second part is dedicated to practical usage of the methodology. The DMAIC cycle is there applied on project of reducing defects on selected product. Attention is put on detailed process mapping, developing measuring system and process analysis. The main output of the practical part is introduction of specific proposals for improvement leading to reduction of defects and waste in manufacturing process.

In a metal mechanic company dedicated to the manufacture of electrical boards which focus is the terraced boards there was presented a fulfillment rate failure to deliver on time 46%. On the other hand, the delivery delay is generated because the current productivity does not supply what is required by the customer, therefore a minimum 394 units per month is needed to meet the requirements but currently only produce 226 units per month. For solve this problem it was proposed that Production model that merges the painting and baking areas and that generates an impact on the entire painting operation.

Studien går ut på att se om metoden DMAIC (Define, measure, analyze, improve och control) är ett bra sätt att minska kvalitetsbristkostnader hos ett kontrakts tillverkande företag. Aktuell forskning på Six Sigma, som är en metodik för förbättringsprojekt, och DMAIC har legat som bas för den teori som applicerats.  Produktfamiljen som har att undersökts heter STB och består av två olika processer, montering av motor och montering av strömmodul. För att avgränsa studien ytterligare kommer endast montering av motor att arbetas med och analyseras för att identifiera vilken är fyra stycken olika komponenter där modellen DMAIC kommer att appliceras som förbättringsmetod, för att finna vilken av dem som bidrar till höga kvalitetsbristkostnader.   Under arbetets gång har det framkommit att verksamheter inom samma bransch till sin fördel, bör logga testresultat för att underlätta framtida förbättringsarbeten. Det grundar sig i att många förbättringsarbeten med DMAIC som fokus, använder sig av statistiska metoder. Med det sagt har det visat sig att det går att utföra ett DMAIC projekt utan den typen av statistik, men att det är en fördel ifall den finns tillhanda.<br>The study is about whether the DMAIC (Define, measure, analyze, improve and control) method is a good way to reduce cost of poor quality in a contract manufacturing company. Current research of Six Sigma, which is a method applied for improvement projects, and DMAIC has been the basis for the theory applied.  The product family that has been examined is called STB and contains two different processes, mounting of engine and mounting of the power module. For further delineation the study will only focus on the mounting of the engine to analyse and identify which one of the four different components where the DMAIC method will be applied as an improvement method, could be the source of the high cost of poor quality.   During this study it has been found that activities in the same industry, to their advantage, should log test results to facilitate future improvements. This is based on the fact that many improvements, with DMAIC as a tool, focuses on using statistical methods. With that, it has been found that it is possible to perform a DMAIC project without statistics but for future state there will be an advantage for the company if it would be available.

The scientific credibility of this thesis was secured by using many sources, avoidance of assumptions, studying a common process and following standardized steps of supplier selection.</p><p><strong>Conclusion:</strong></p><p>The existing process of supplier selection at LPCL was defined and mapped to understand the process characteristics and capabilities. The existing process was then analysed to identify problem areas, variations and unnecessary activities. Corrective actions were recommended to deal with problem areas and an improved supplier selection process for LPCL was suggested with process coordination and control measures.</p><p><strong>Suggestions for future research:</strong></p><p>Based on the findings of this thesis, we suggest that the further research for LPCL could be done in the area of sourcing and suppliers relationship management. Sourcing; a study could examine the sourcing policy at LPCL on purchasing practises of products. It would also be interesting to focus more on this area which leads to excellent cost reduction. Using scenario method could compare and analyse regional, national and worldwide sourcing. Supplier Relationship Management; a study could investigate supplier relationship management that leads to creating a competitive advantage for LPCL through the development of supplier performance monitoring and supplier development programme. Neste contexto, o objetivo deste trabalho é, com o auxílio de um framework teórico, estudar o uso de Lean Manufacturing e Six Sigma em um caso real pertencente ao parque industrial nacional. Dessa forma, optou-se por realizar um estudo de caso em uma empresa do ramo automobilístico, visto a relação do setor com a melhoria contínua. A companhia já utilizava as técnicas e ferramentas há mais de uma década e, além de mostrar a sua abordagem com relação à melhoria contínua de forma geral, apresentou dois casos para comparação das soluções encontradas para seu próprio aperfeiçoamento. Foi observado que a empresa encontra-se em um estágio intermediário-avançado dentro do framework construído e foi ressaltado que o Kaizen é a principal forma de melhoria usada.<br>Increasingly present in industrial environment, the continuous improvement methodologies structured and systematized the implementation and employment of techniques, tools and practices of process improvement, which allow reducing lead time, enhancing customer satisfaction, decreasing process variability and raising product quality. In this context, supported by a framework, what this study aims at is to review the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma in a real case belonging to the national industrial park. Hence, a case study was chosen in a company from the automotive industry, insofar as its relationship with continuous improvement. The company had already been using the techniques and tools for over a decade and it was provided an overview of its approach and, in addition, two cases to have their solution compared. It was observed that the company stands in an upper intermediate stage according to the developed framework and it was also highlighted that Kaizen is the main improvement means used.

A redução de sucata é um dos principais objectivos da empresa, desta forma os processos tornar-se-ão mais eficientes e os recursos dedicados a tarefas que gerem valor acrescentado e não a atividades de retrabalho. A empresa ABC aposta na melhoria contínua dos seus processos, sendo o Six-Sigma uma realidade como modelo de estratégia, e a metodologia usada nos projetos o DMAIC (Define - Definir; Measure - Medir; Analyse - Analise; Improve - Melhorar; Control - Controlar). Em todas fábricas do grupo existem equipas dedicadas ao desenvolvimentos de projetos Six-Sigma com o intuito de reduzir atividades que gerem desperdício. Estas equipas são lideradas por um Black Belt dedicado a 100% à Melhoria Contínua, e um conjunto de Green Belts que dedicam 20% do seu tempo ao desenvolvimento dos seus próprios projetos e a projetos conjuntos. Como suporte a todas equipas do grupo existe um Master Black Belt responsável por todas as atividades realizadas em todas as fábricas do grupo. Na revisão de literatura foi igualmente feita a descrição da metodologia bem como o próprio conceito.<br>In the present work the possible factors that generate scrap in the formation of set of plates in the assembly line during the productive process of batteries are analyzed, based on real data of a company of the respective sector. Scrap reduction is one of the company's primary goals, so processes will become more efficient and resources dedicated to tasks that add value rather than reworking activities. The company ABC is committed to the continuous improvement of its processes, and Six Sigma is a reality as a strategy model and the methodology used is the DMAIC (Define - Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). In all plants of the group there are teams dedicated to the development of Six Sigma projects in order to reduce activities that generate waste. These teams are led by a Black Belt dedicated to 100% Continuous Improvement and a team of Green Belts that devote 20% of their time developing their own projects and joint projects. As support to all teams in the group there is a Master Black Belt responsible for all the activities carried out in all the plants of the group. The literature review was based on the impact of Six Sigma methodologies on production processes and their control in quality management. BAGA Water Technology är ett svenskt företag som är verksamt inom vattenhantering med fokus på konstruktion och tillverkning av reningsverk särskilt anpassade för att klara de nordiska förhållandena. De är en av marknadens ledande aktörer inom området vilket gör att en ständig utveckling krävs för att konkurrenskraften ska bibehållas. Företagets huvudkontor är beläget i Karlskrona medan produktion och lagerhållning till största delen är outsourcat till en underleverantör i Norge och en i Blekinge (UL.B). Outsourcingen till UL.B har visat sig inge problem då kvalitén av produkter inte är tillfredsställande samtidigt som den spridda lagerhållningen och produktionen gör logistiksystemet komplext och svårhanterligt. Arbetets syfte är således att göra en förstudie där BAGA erhåller data som kan användas för att ta beslut om en omorganisation av företagets outsourcade lager och produktion är en rimlig lösning på problemen samtidigt som implementerbara förändringsförslag tillhandahålls. Genom användning av Lean Six Sigmas modell för förbättringsarbete, DMAIC, samt förespråkade verktyg har först en nulägesanalys av processer och flöden kopplade till UL.B genomförts. Intervjuer och observationer både på BAGA och hos UL.B har verkat som grundläggande data. Utifrån den samlade informationen har en orsak-verkan analys gjorts med fokus på de båda problemområdena, där orsakerna sedan har prioriterats i en FMEA. Framtagning av tre förbättringsförslag har därefter gjorts, där det förslag som ansågs mest fördelaktigt är att BAGA bör investera i en utökad egen verksamhet genom tillbyggnad av en lagerbyggnad intill kontoret i Karlskrona. Detta möjliggör en förflyttning av lager och produktion från UL.B till BAGA. Beskrivningen av förändringsförslaget presenterar bland annat förändringar i processer och flöden men även förslag på en fysisk utformning där ett effektivitetstänk enligt Lean Six Sigma ständig genomsyrar arbetet. Slutligen presenteras en kostnadskalkyl som jämför nuläget med det föreslagna scenariot där det visar sig att förslaget ger en ekonomisk vinning. Utifrån de många positiva argument som har framkommit, bland annat att förslaget bidrar med minskade transporter och ett ökat inflytande över produktionen, anses det som ett strategiskt riktigt beslut att implementera förbättringsförslaget.

Customer-oriented processes are essential to achieve customer satisfaction. This research describes the application of the concepts of Relationship Marketing as a starting point in the process of developing new services in a telecommunications service provider in Spain. In the quest to increase customer satisfaction, this paper seeks to understand whether the structure of internal processes is the most suitable to channel customer requirements using relationship marketing philosophy but in order to use a systematics tool and a robust method; DMAIC methodology of Six Sigma is applied. Previous researches have contemplated the used of Six Sigma methodologies within manufacturing industries, while this research tries to explore a unique niche by shifting from a production approach, to a service-process, where few researches are found. The scientific research is initiated with the exploration of New Service Development (NSD) processes in the company allowing the preparation of As-Is process maps. Two ways or scenarios are identified for developing new services in the company; the first one where “Standard Services” are developed and proposed by the company, while in the second scenario, services born from a specific customer requirement and known as “Special Projects”. The collection of the Voice of the customer (VOC) identifies 13 criteria that are essential for purchasing, making possible to compare the linkage between internal activities with customer requirements. In a final stage the methodology proposed is validated with a service within the company portfolio. Significant contributions of this research are presented through the framework proposed so as to measure the performance gaps within the services provided by company, regardless of their lifecycle stage, which can also be extrapolated to other businesses of the group. Moreover it provides an understanding on the impact of each process activities in a specific requirement highlighting the most Critical to Quality (CTQ) activities and proposing improvement opportunities.

La tesi riguarda la riorganizzazione dell'attività di installazione delle macchine presso il cliente. Il progetto è stato svolto presso la Fabio Perini Bologna S.p.A, azienda leader nella produzione di macchine automatiche per il packaging del tissue. Tali macchine vengono assemblate e collaudate internamente, per poi essere smontate e spedite allo stabilimento del cliente. Nella cartiera il lavoro consiste nel riassemblare la macchina connettendola ad una linea di produzione, effettuare l’avviamento ed eseguire un collaudo finale. L’attività deve essere terminata in un numero di giorni che viene concordato al momento della vendita per cui, in caso di prolungamenti, gli ingenti costi per operatori in trasferta sono totalmente a carico dell'azienda. Oltre a questo i ritardi generano disagi organizzativi al cliente, che non può partire con la produzione nei tempi previsti. Il lavoro segue la struttura DMAIC, tipica del Lean Six Sigma. I primi due capitoli descrivono l'azienda e la metodologia utilizzata. Il terzo capitolo descrive la fase Define, ovvero la comprensione dei problemi e dello stato AS-IS. Nel quarto capitolo viene descritta la fase Measure, ovvero quella parte di raccolta e valutazione dei dati sulle installazioni, di natura sia operativa che monetaria. Il quinto capitolo tratta la fase Analyze, in cui vengono applicate tecniche di analisi, sia qualitative che quantitative, allo scopo di identificare le sei root causes principali. Il sesto capitolo riguarda la fase Improve del progetto, ovvero la scelta e l’implementazione di soluzioni mirate a rimuovere le cause dei problemi. Nel settimo capitolo viene presentata la fase Control che riguarda le azioni eseguite per mantenere sotto controllo il processo e rendere stabili i miglioramenti implementati. Infine, si termina con un capitolo conclusivo, dove si trova un riepilogo del progetto e una valutazione dei benefici ottenibili tramite le soluzioni implementate.

The main purpose of this thesis work was to halve the cycle time of a grinding process of the groove of carbonitrided ball bearings rings. The study was conducted as a Six Sigma project at SKF in Bari, Italy. Reaching the goal was important for the company as it meant avoiding the purchase of another grinding machine. The groove grinding process on carbonitrided rings features double the cycle time than the same process on through hardened rings and halving it was required to fulfill the volumes demanded. The Six Sigma methodology was applied through the implementation of DMAIC. The analysis of the problems and identification of areas for improvement were carried out deploying different tools such as an Ishikawa diagram, Hypothesis Testing and Statistical Process Control. The outcome of this was the need to optimize the carbonitriding process minimizing the depth of the layer without enlarged carbides in order to render the design of the part easier to machine and subsequently find the process parameters for the groove grinding yielding a cycle time of six seconds. Many trials were conducted with the supplier of carbonitriding, until the carbon and ammonia potentials were set at levels resulting in a depth of the layer allowing the change of the design. An optimizing DOE was instead performed for the grinding process which highlighted the parameters settings yielding the target cycle time. Finally actions and controls to perform in order to maintain the gains were defined.

Six Sigma was developed in 1980s in manufacturing industry and became popular as a process improvement method. However, the adoption of this concept is new in construction industry and the aim of this study is to evaluate Six Sigma as a process improvement method within construction context. This thesis includes Literature Review and three interviews. Literature Review had discussed process improvement methods used in construction industry and analyzed the basic features and principles of Six Sigma. Three interviews were conducted about the basic principles of Six Sigma and Quality Concept. Interviewers are a Project Manager, Field and Cost Engineer. The approach of the interview to Six Sigma is based on quality, performance and management aspects. This study defends that there is no doubt about the positive effects of Six Sigma on construction projects. Particularly, Six Sigma can provide a broader quality concept, detailed performance measurement, coordinated and repeatable process/performance improvement. It has increased quality directly/indirectly and has positive effects on production efficiency. As a 2 management approach, Six Sigma is discussable within construction context due to differences of manufacturing and construction industry. Since construction industry includes lots of unrepeatable tasks and different process design techniques, Six Sigma does not seem applicable as a whole management approach in construction industry. Furthermore, it can be integrated to the existing management procedures of companies. Taking everything into consideration, it is obvious that Six Sigma has a lot in order to accelerate fundamental and cultural challenges construction industry needs.

Lack of technical cleanliness and particle contaminations in Lithium-ion battery manufacturing affect the performance of batteries which are a risk for the safety and quality of the product. Therefore, part of the manufacturing process occurs inside the Clean and Dry room area to maintain technical cleanliness. This paper aims to provide a framework to control particle contamination inside the Clean and Dry room and strengthen the product's quality and safety. A literature study was conducted, which was completed by a field study at Northvolt Labs in Västerås to achieve the study's aims. The study contributes to existing theories by providing a framework to find root causes of particle contamination in the manufacturing process based on the existing literature and standards. The Six Sigma problem-solving methodology DMAIC was implemented to conduct the field study. A risk assessment was conducted to find the possible threats toward technical cleanliness in the cell assembly process. The risk sources were identified by implementing measurement methods from relevant standards. The results indicate a high risk for technical cleanliness are coming from the decontamination method, material, machines, and environment. Furthermore, several recommendations were given that are expected to decrease the amount of nonconformity in the process.<br>Brist på teknisk renhet och partikelföroreningar vid tillverkning av litiumjonbatterier påverkar dess prestanda och utgör en risk för produktens säkerhet och kvalitet. Därför sker en del av tillverkningsprocessen i ett Clean &amp; Dry rum för att upprätthålla teknisk renhet. Denna uppsats syftar till att ge ett ramverk för att kontrollera partikelföroreningar och därmed stärka produktens kvalitet och säkerhet. För att uppnå syftet genomfördes först en litteraturstudie vilket vidare kompletterades med en fältstudie vid Northvolt Labs i Västerås. Studien bidrar till befintliga teorier genom att tillhandahålla ett ramverk för att hitta och åtgärda rotorsaker till partikelkontaminering i tillverkningsprocessen baserat på befintlig litteratur och standarder. Sex Sigma problemlösningsmetoden DMAIC implementerades för att genomföra fältstudien. En riskbedömning genomfördes för att hitta riskfyllda aktiviteter i processen. Vidare implementerades mätmetoder från relevanta standarder för att mäta kontamineringsnivån. Resultaten indikerar stor risk för tekniskrenhet från saneringsmetoder, material, maskiner och miljön. Vidare rekommenderas flera åtgärder för att underhålla tekniskrenhet vilka förväntas minska avvikelser i processen.

The project degree is written within the department of Industrial Engineering &amp; Management at Uppsala University. The object with this study is to improve the current capabilities of the Internal Collection process at the service credit company Hoist Finance with the improvement methodology Lean Six Sigma and associated DMAIC cycle. In order to find out how the methodology should be adapted a case study and a literature study was carried out. The literature study was about previous research in the area of processes, Lean Six Sigma and the company Hoist Finance. The case study was performed over 4 months at Hoist Finance in the operational excellence team to understand how the methodology should be used on the company. The degree project shows great potential to apply the methodology to improve the process and if the recommendations on how the process should be performed is implemented, the process time can be reduced with 25 days and the costs with 23.34 euros per debt.

Assim, realizou-se uma série de pesquisas comentando sobre o que seria um modelo de implementação da Produção Enxuta. To this end, was made analysis of articles, books and theses to implement a structured model in the production process. Thus, was carried out a series of searches commenting on what would be a model for implementation of Lean Production. Therefore, it was decided to create a model based on research and analysis, noting, therefore, that the union of simplicity of Lean Production, demonstrated by eliminating waste and creating flow and Six Sigma, with the elimination of variations, complement each other and make more robust implementation. From the fact presented, a model was created, covering the essential tools for the application of this process, using the search strategy called action-research. One concern of creating the model was to improve the understanding and the related steps, simplifying and facilitating their replication. The structure and use of the Six Sigma DMAIC steps helped in understanding and replicating the model in production flows. Likewise the definition of indicators and ways of monitoring activities, visualization and monitoring controls enabled and facilitated the progress and see the results. With this, it is noticeable that the visual management at all stages with the support of the Leadership of the company and controls for monitoring of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma combined with facilitated see results and improvement throughout the stages and was the differential model. This model was implemented in a steel company and the result was that the company that applied these steps have become the reference group with regard to Lean Production in a short time and obtained the union's leadership of the company in applying the model. Memoria para optar al título de Ingeniero en Alimentos<br>El chocolate es considerado uno de los productos más importantes dentro del negocio de confitería. Las pérdidas de materias primas durante el 2008 en la fábrica de chocolates alcanzaron los $ 784 millones de pesos y el 25% se concentró en la etapa de fabricación de chocolates. Se utilizó la metodología DMAIC (Definir, medir, analizar, implementar y controlar) para reducir las pérdidas y mejorar los procesos involucrados en las etapas de fabricación de chocolate, a nivel de ingeniería, producción y calidad. Siguiendo la metodología DMAIC se creó un equipo multidisciplinario de trabajo. Se identificaron las causas potenciales de pérdidas en cada etapa del proceso de fabricación, se priorizaron y se asignaron responsables para su implementación. La capacidad del proceso se midió mediante el uso de herramientas estadísticas, obteniendo un sigma inicial de 1,83, y luego de implementar las mejoras el sigma final fue de 3,87. Se crearon planillas para mantener bajo control las mejoras implementadas. Con el uso de la metodología DMAIC implementada, las pérdidas disminuyeron en el proceso de 207,6 kg por día promedio, a 137,3 kg por día promedio, esto significará un ahorro de $ 22 millones de pesos anuales.<br>The chocolate is considered one of the most important products in the confectionery business. The raw material losses during 2008 in the Manufacture chocolate business reached $ 784 million (chilean pesos) and 25% was focused on the stage of manufacture chocolate. It was used the DMAIC (Define, measure, analyze, implement and control) methodology to reduce losses and improve the processes involved in the stages of chocolate manufacture at the level of engineering, production and quality. Following the DMAIC methodology was created by a multidisciplinary team work. The potential causes of losses was identified at each stage of the manufacturing process, and assigned responsibility people was prioritized for its implementation. The process capability was measured by using statistical tools, obtaining an initial sigma of 1,83, and then implement the improvements was the final sigma 3,87. Spreadsheet were created to keep control of the improvements implemented. Using the DMAIC methodology implemented, the losses in the process decreased from 207,6 kg per day average to 137,3 kg per day average, this will mean was saving of $ 22 million (chilean pesos) per year.

En undersökning från Svenskt Kvalitetsindex har visat på låg kundnöjdhet i en av de svenska storbankerna. Banken har flera kategorier av kunder som ställer olika krav på service. Nöjdheten bland de prioriterade kunderna mäts med bankens egna kundbarometer på en skala mellan 0 till 10 där betygen 9 och 10 indikerar att kunderna skulle rekommendera banken. Syftet med min studie är att utvärdera och analysera kundnöjdheten och bankens rådgivningsprocess mot bakgrund av dess tillhandahållna tjänster. Studien syftar även på att ta fram förbättringsförslag för att nå ökad kundnöjdhet. Därför har jag gjort en litteraturstudie med hjälp av både kvalitativ och kvantitativ dataanalys utifrån Sex Sigmas problemlösningsmetodik, DMAIC (Definiera-Mäta-Analysera-Implementera-Kontrollera). Forskningsfrågorna utgår från teorier inom kundtillfredsställelse och coachning. Resultaten från studien visar att kvalitetsfaktorer som professionalitet, attityd och tillförlitlighet är viktigast för att ge ökad kundnöjdhet och bidra till en förbättrad rådgivningsprocess med stöd av coachning. Slutsatsen är att bankens rådgivare kan tillämpa en coachande rådgivningsmodell genom att koncentrera sig på aktiv kommunikation via uppföljning. På så sätt kan de prioriterade kunderna motiveras att rekommendera banken till andra.<br>Swedish Quality Index survey shows low customer satisfaction in one of the Swedish banks. The bank has several categories of customers that impose different quality service requirements. Customer satisfaction among the priority customers is measured with the bank's own customer barometer on a scale of 0 to 10 where two highest ratings indicate that these customers would recommend the bank to others. The purpose of the survey is to evaluate and analyze customer satisfaction and advisory process considering the services provided. The work points at developing improvements towards increased customer satisfaction. The thesis therefore consists of a literature study including qualitative and quantitative data analysis based on Six Sigma's problem-solving methodology, DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control).  Research questions are based on customer satisfaction and coaching theories. The results from the study show that quality factors such as professionalism, attitude, and reliability are the most important for increasing customer satisfaction and contributing to an improved counseling process with coaching. The conclusion is that the bank's adviser can apply a coaching advisory model by concentrating on active communication through follow-up. In this way, the priority customers can be motivated to recommend the bank to others.

Though this, to get their aim, it was necessary broke some paradigms; to stimulate creativity; to innovate; to intensify the effort to reduce processes variation; and above all to assume customer satisfaction in all operations as a priority. Six Sigma approach has been solidifying as an efficient alternative to organizational growth on the strength of quality levels elevation. But, how can we define Six Sigma? Making a theoretical and conceptual research several definitions founded in literature were rescued and examined with purpose to compose a broader definition which translates better Six Sigma meaning. About structure of Six Sigma Quality Program (PQSS), this thesis became as a link between theory and practice when it aided others theories to Six Sigma context and when it used empirical subsidies to identify and evaluate the essential components to structure the PQSS. The empirical subsidies were obtained from qualitative research (case studies) involving four Brazilian subsidiaries of American multinational companies. After to analyze the empirical evidences, it was possible to formalize a set of arguments to purpose a Reference Model to structure the PQSS. This model is sustained by the followings components: strategic orientation; statistical thinking; performance measurement; Six Sigma methodology; and people graduation and qualification. To evaluate the Reference Model it was developed a quantitative research based in Green belts, Black belts and Master Black belts information. Statistical results showed that each one of these components has a meaningful relevance to compose the minimal structure to the PQSS. As principal conclusions this thesis highlights: (1) the PQSS as an integrator program of strategic and operational objectives; (2) strategic orientation and alignment are fundamental to define Six Sigma projects; (3) the use of performance measures increases the potential of Six Sigma projects; (4) its not clear for many specialists that statistical thinking is a background to PQSS; (5) Six Sigma projects are catalysts of a system which uses these projects to reflect it strategic orientation and customer focus importance to get measurable results; and (6) the Reference Model can be valid and can be utilized to structure or re-structure the PQSS implementation.<br>Com o aumento do nível de exigências dos clientes, as iniciativas de melhoria da qualidade que surgiram nas últimas duas décadas focaram fortemente a satisfação do cliente como o caminho para as organizações aumentarem a eficiência e a eficácia de seus processos produtivos. Todavia, para trilharem este caminho, foi necessário quebrar paradigmas; estimular a criatividade; inovar; intensificar o esforço em reduzir a variação dos processos; e, sobretudo, priorizar a satisfação dos clientes em todas as operações. O Seis Sigma é uma abordagem que vêm se consolidando como uma forma eficiente de crescimento organizacional, decorrente da elevação dos níveis de qualidade. Mas, afinal, como Seis Sigma é definido? Por meio de uma pesquisa teórico-conceitual, diversas definições encontradas na literatura foram resgatadas e analisadas visando compor uma definição mais ampla, e que traduza melhor a abrangência do Seis Sigma. No tocante ao Programa de Qualidade Seis Sigma (PQSS), esta tese trouxe um enlace de teoria e prática ao incorporar outras teorias ao contexto do Seis Sigma, e ao agregar subsídios empíricos para identificar e avaliar componentes que são essenciais para estruturar o PQSS. Estes subsídios decorreram de uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa realizada com quatro subsidiárias brasileiras de empresas multinacionais americanas (estudo de casos). Após análise das evidências empíricas foi possível formalizar um conjunto de argumentos que levaram a proposição de um Modelo de Referência para estruturar o PQSS, o qual é sustentado basicamente pelos seguintes componentes essenciais: orientação estratégica; pensamento estatístico; medição de desempenho; metodologia Seis Sigma; e capacitação/especialização das pessoas. Uma avaliação preliminar do Modelo de Referência é apresentada logo após o modelo ter sido proposto e detalhado. Esta avaliação foi realizada com base em uma pesquisa empírica com abordagem quantitativa que envolveu Green belts, Black belts e Master black belts. Realizada a análise estatística, os resultados obtidos revela ram, entre outros pontos, que cada um dos componentes considerados no Modelo de Referência possui uma relevância significativa para estruturar o PQSS. Como conclusões a tese destaca que: (1) o PQSS é um programa integrador dos objetivos estratégicos e operacionais que facilita o direcionamento e a implementação dos projetos Seis Sigma; (2) a orientação estratégica e o alinhamento são priorizados na definição dos projetos Seis Sigma; (3) o uso de indicadores de desempenho aumenta o potencial dos projetos Seis Sigma; (4) ainda não há uma compreensão de que o pensamento estatístico consiste num pano de fundo para o PQSS; (5) os projetos Seis Sigma são catalisadores de um sistema que reflete, por meio destes, a visão estratégica e a importância do foco no cliente para se conseguir resultados mensuráveis que impactam em uma ou mais dimensões do sistema de medição do desempenho organizacional; e (6) há evidências de que o Modelo de Referência pode ser válido, o que permite que ele seja utilizado para estruturar ou re-estruturar o PQSS.

Dissertação apresentada à Universidade Fernando Pessoa como parte dos requisitos para obtenção do grau de Mestre em Gestão da Qualidade<br>O trabalho de dissertação proposto teve como principal objetivo promover a prática Seis Sigma, seguindo uma metodologia DMAIC, aplicada a equipamentos e correntes da unidade Arosolvan (extração líquido-líquido) na Refinaria de Matosinhos da Galp Energia, S.A. Visou contribuir para a otimização de processos da refinaria, fomentando ações para melhorar a competitividade da unidade, utilizando um conjunto de práticas que aperfeiçoam a qualidade na produção. O primeiro objetivo não foi totalmente atingido, devido à limitação temporal da intervenção prática, não se concluindo a última etapa da DMAIC - controlo do plano de ação. No entanto, foi possível propor o plano de ação que, sendo implementado, pode auxiliar na otimização de alguns processos. O estudo revelou que a metodologia seguida responde e coopera com o requisito de melhoria contínua, exigência dos modelos de excelência. O objetivo de desenvolver ferramentas inovadoras para a refinaria, fundamentou-se num projeto de melhoria contínua, identificando e eliminando não conformidades, sugerindo ações corretivas de problemas, na tentativa de melhorar a eficácia dos processos desta unidade. Foram focadas, no âmbito da Seis Sigma e de acordo com solicitações da própria empresa, outras ferramentas da qualidade como, por exemplo, cartas de controlo e FMEAS. Este objetivo foi concretizado através de pequenos projectos que, utilizando as ferramentas da qualidade pedidas, permitiram identificar, eliminar defeitos e acrescentar valor aos processos. Este trabalho adotou dois métodos de investigação, quanto ao procedimento: investigação-ação, com uma abordagem basicamente qualitativa; estudo de caso, com uma abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa.<br>The main objective of this dissertation was to promote Six Sigma practice, using DMAIC methodology, applied to the equipments and fluids of the Arosolvan unit (liquid-liquid extraction) in the Refinery of Galp Energia, S.A. – Matosinhos. The goal was to contribute for optimization of the refinery processes, fostering the unit’s competitiveness through a set of practices for production’s quality improvement. Due to time limitations for practical intervention, the last DMAIC step – action’s plan control - was not ccompleted. However, it was possible to submit the plan for future implementation. The case-study showed this methodology as appropriate for continuous improvement purposes, requirement of models excellence. The purpose of developing these innovative tools for the refinary is based on a continuous improvement project, identifying and eliminating nonconformities, proposing corrective actions to solve problems, for the unit’s processes efficiency improvement. Within Six Sigma and according to company’s request, other quality tools were focused like, for example, control cards and FMEAS. Through small projects, that using the requested quality tools allowed to reach the objective adding value to the processes. This dissertation adopted two investigation methods as to the procedure: research-action, with basically qualitative approach; case-study, with qualitative and quantitative approach.

This process has large departments where the cotton passes in different process and may be effects the quality of yarn when it reaches the package form. A thousand defects opportunities create in the final package of yarn. That’s’ why it is decided to do work and implement DMAIC methodology in winding departments where the final package of yarn is make. Final package of yarn is the end product and from it is direct send to the customers and if any final product passes with some defects and may chance the customer complaint.The main thing of this project is to give the understanding of different problems in different departments in quality point of view and how to reduce the problems by taking preventive action against any defects produce during process. For quality of product and enhance the customer satisfaction, it is decided to more work on final end product in the form of DMAIC tool to reduce the defects rate of product before going to customer. Abstract:
The goal of this Master's Thesis is Lean Six Sigma application to solve problems occurring during brand changes in production in Philip Morris CR, a.s. In the first part of this thesis there is described the Lean Six Sigma methodology, which draws from current world literature. Moreover the thesis describes the company Philip Morris, production of tobacco products in Kutná Hora and there is high level process description of cigarette production. In the thesis there is thorough description of process brand change, 7 measurements of this process on different types of machines, analysis of these measurements. In case there are problems identified there is the counter action to solve them designed. At the end of the thesis there is evaluation if the goals described in the introduction were achieved.

El tema de este proyecto de suficiencia profesional es el diseño y desarrollo de una propuesta de mejora del proceso de producción utilizando la metodología DMAIC Six Sigma y en cuáles son los principales beneficios que genera la implementación de este en el proceso productivo de una empresa de confección textil. Por ello, la hipótesis planteada es que los principales beneficios de implementar un modelo basado en el DMAIC Six Sigma en empresas de confección textil son: la reducción de merma, costos de reprocesos, así como el incremento de la competitividad de la empresa debido a que aumenta el prestigio de esta. El presente trabajo está dividido en cuatro capítulos. En el primero, se explicará la definición de las herramientas a utilizar para el diseño del modelo DMAIC Six Sigma y mencionar cuáles son los lineamientos que tiene toda empresa de confección textil. En el segundo, se realizará un diagnóstico y desarrollo de cuáles son los principales problemas dentro del proceso productivo del producto: set de cama, que confecciona una empresa de confección textil. En el tercero, se explicará de qué forma se utilizará la metodología DMAIC Six Sigma en el problema diagnosticado de una empresa de confección textil. En el cuarto, se realizará la simulación para la validación, se analizarán los impactos y riesgos de la alternativa escogida, como solución para el problema determinado. Finalmente, las conclusiones del proyecto de suficiencia profesional.<br>The subject of this professional sufficiency project is the design and development of a proposal to improve the production process using the DMAIC Six Sigma methodology and what are the main benefits generated by its implementation in the production process of a clothing company textile. Therefore, the hypothesis raised is that the main benefits of implementing a model based on the DMAIC Six Sigma in textile manufacturing companies are: the reduction of waste, reprocessing costs, as well as the increase in the competitiveness of the company because increases the prestige of this. The present work is divided into four chapters. In the first, the definition of the tools to be used for the design of the DMAIC Six Sigma model will be explained and what are the guidelines that every textile manufacturing company has. In the second, a diagnosis and development of what are the main problems within the production process of the product will be carried out: bed set, which is made by a textile manufacturing company. In the third, it will be explained how the DMAIC Six Sigma methodology will be used in the diagnosed problem of a textile manufacturing company. In the fourth, the simulation will be carried out for validation, the impacts and risks of the chosen alternative will be analyzed, as a solution for the determined problem. Mestrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial<br>Este trabalho insere-se no âmbito da aplicação do sistema de produção da aliança Renault Nissan na fábrica da Renault CACIA. Este sistema advoga o conceito de Filme Firme que pode ser definido como um plano fixo e sem previsões, em que a hora de fabricação e sequência de produção são definidas para cada veículo ou para cada componente específico, e não para um volume total diário, e em que o seu fluxo de informação é contínuo e sustentado por um sistema que é suscetível de ser partilhado com todos os processos. O projeto proposto neste estágio curricular tinha como objetivo a criação de um método sistemático que possibilitasse aumentar o período de Filme Firme na linha de montagem de caixas de velocidades. Para isto ser possível sem eventos adversos, teriam de ser minimizadas as alterações às ordens de fabrico no horizonte firme. Com base no ciclo DMAIC, foi criado para o efeito um método sistemático de resolução estruturada de problemas que implicassem essas alterações, utilizando ferramentas como a análise dos 5 Porquê, o Diagrama de Pareto e o Plano de Ação. Devido à implementação deste processo, a Renault CACIA conseguiu aumentar o seu período de Filme Firme de 24 para 32 horas, assim como minimizar os problemas que provocavam alterações nas ordens de fabrico.<br>This work falls within the scope of application of the Renault Nissan production system at Renault CACIA. This system advocate the concept of “Filme Firme” that could be set as a fixed and unpredicted plan, wherein the time of manufacture and production sequence are defined for each vehicle or for each particular component and not to a total daily volume, and where its information flow is continuous and sustained by a system that is capable of being shared with all processes. The project proposed in this curricular internship aimed to create a systematic method that would allow the increasing of the “Filme Firme” period in gearbox assembly line. For this to be possible without adverse events, it would be necessary to minimize the changes to manufacturing orders in the firm horizon. Based on the DMAIC cycle, it was created for this purpose a systematic method of solving structured problems that would require these changes, using tools such as the 5 Whys analysis, the diagram of Pareto and the Action Plan. Due to the implementation of this process, Renault CACIA managed to increase its “Filme Firme” period from 24 to 32 hours, as well as minimize the problems that caused changes in manufacturing orders.

O Gerenciamento de Risco Hospitalar é um processo complexo de ações gerenciais multidisciplinares que tem como propósito implantar um sistema de monitoramento e identificação da provável origem de eventos adversos e seus danos, tomar decisões apropriadas e executar ações concernentes às áreas de Farmacovigilância, Hemovigilância e a Tecnovigilância. Esta última tem como parte das atividades, procedimentos para aquisição, utilização e controle da qualidade de produtos e equipamentos em uso na área da saúde. Nesse sentido, este estudo teve como objetivo geral construir e validar um instrumento de avaliação de produto médicohospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, exploratório, longitudinal e de desenvolvimento metodológico. A investigação foi estruturada utilizando-se de técnicas de gestão de qualidade com o uso da metodologia Seis Sigma para subsidiar o gerenciamento de risco na área de Tecnovigilância e a Técnica Delphi para a obtenção dos dados. A metodologia Seis Sigma possui como base principal, as etapas componentes do Ciclo DMAIC, onde a melhoria da performance com uso de abordagens estatísticas e estratégicas possibilitou o estudo das variabilidades dos processos. A Técnica Delphi foi utilizada para a obtenção de dados dos profissionais especialistas e juízes da Rede Brasileira de Hospitais Sentinela. Considerando que o equipo de infusão venosa é de amplo uso na área de saúde, foi elaborado um questionário, composto de três perguntas e 55 itens, para indicação daqueles itens a compor o instrumento de avaliação desse produto. A concretização da validação inicial contou com a participação de 134 profissionais especialistas que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão no estudo, e foi estabelecido o consenso de 80% de concordância, o que foi obtido com duas rodadas da Técnica Delphi-1. A seguir, desenvolveu-se um instrumento que possui duas partes: a Geral que se compõe de dados administrativos e do produto; a parte Específica que contém 9 tópicos e 43 itens de avaliações. O quadro de avaliação, contem cinco diferentes atributos de qualificação (péssimo, regular, bom, ótimo e excelente) e que possuem pontuações de 1 a 5 respectivamente. Na etapa Delphi-2, cinco juízes participaram de duas rodadas para a validação de conteúdo do modelo desenvolvido obtendo-se 100% de consenso. Na etapa Delphi-3, os juízes aplicaram o instrumento em três marcas de equipos simples e três de equipos com reservatório. Os resultados deste estudo contribuem não apenas para a avaliação dos produtos, mas também propõe uma metodologia para o desenvolvimento de um instrumento, extensível a outros produtos médico-hospitalares. Concluiu-se que o instrumento desenvolvido possibilitou avaliar os produtos diferenciando os resultados das marcas testadas, retratando o propósito inicial do estudo em se qualificar as avaliações de equipo de infusão.<br>Hospital risk management is a complex process, which involves multidisciplinary management actions. Its goal is to set up a system to monitor and identify the probable origin of adverse events and their damage; make appropriate decisions; and perform actions related to Pharmacovigilance, Hemovigilance and Technovigilance. The latter, among other functions, performs activities and procedures for the acquisition, use and quality control of products and equipment used in the health area. This study aims to construct and validate an instrument to assess medicalhospital products. A quantitative, exploratory, longitudinal and methodological development study was carried out. The research structure was based on quality management techniques, using the Six Sigma method to support risk management in Technovigilance and the Delphi technique for data collection. The premise of the Six Sigma method comprises the component steps of the DMAIC Cycle, in which performance improvement through the use of statistical and strategic approaches made it possible to study the processes variabilities. The Delphi technique was used to obtain data from specialized professionals and judges from the Brazilian Sentinel Hospital Network. As venous infusion equipment is widely used in the hospital area, a questionnaire was elaborated, consisting of three questions and 55 items, to indicate the items to be included in that products assessment instrument. In the initial validation, 134 specialized professionals took place, who complied with the criteria for inclusion in the study. The agreement level was set at 80%, obtained after two rounds of the Delphi technique. Next, a two-part instrument was developed: General, addressing administrative and product data; and Specific, with 9 topics and 43 assessment items. The assessment chart contains five different qualifications (Very bad, Regular, Good, Very Good and Excellent) and scores from 1 to 5, respectively. In the Delphi 2 phase, five judges participated in two round to validate the content of the developed model, achieving a 100% consensus. In the Delphi 3 phase, the judges applied the instrument to three brands of Simple equipment and three brands of equipment with Reserve. The study results not only contribute to product assessment, but also propose an instrument development method that can be extended to other medical-hospital products. It is concluded that the developed instrument permitted product assessment, providing distinct results for the tested brands, in line with the studys initial goal of qualifying infusion equipment assessments.

Dentro do contexto da busca por produtos e processos perfeitos, esta dissertação apresenta a análise dos Seis Sigmas em um posto de trabalho, com a metodologia do DMAIC, em uma empresa do setor automotivo. O estudo foi desenvolvido no posto de regulagem de freio de mão de uma empresa automotiva de veículos leves, sendo este um item de regulamentação conforme resolução do Departamento Nacional de Transito. A empresa via-se com mais de 30% de defeitos em menos de dez dias de produção. Neste cenário, optou-se pela realização de um projeto de melhoria com uma abordagem Seis Sigmas no equipamento de regulagem e controle (banco de rolos) devido aos resultados de defeitos atuais ultrapassarem o número de defeitos do ano anterior inteiro. A opção pela utilização da metodologia Seis Sigmas na busca da solução para o problema foi uma decisão estratégica da alta administração da organização, com o objetivo de resolver este problema (crônico) já que outros programas de qualidade desenvolvidos na empresa não tiveram o mesmo sucesso em outros estudos de caso, visando assim diminuir os defeitos a partir da efetiva aplicação desta ferramenta. A meta foi mostrar um estudo de caso da aplicação da metodologia Seis Sigmas para a eliminação dos defeitos da regulagem do freio de mão, gerados no processo de regulagem automática, eliminando assim o retrabalho por tassagem no posto seguinte, através dos seguintes objetivos específicos: identificação do problema e dos benefícios da aplicação do Seis Sigmas na empresa, e a melhoria nos resultados operacionais. No decorrer do desenvolvimento do processo como um todo, obtiveram-se resultados satisfatórios em relação à quantidade de dentes de engrenagem a ser controlada, especificação do torque máximo e redução do custo de retrabalho em quase cento e vinte mi reais por mês, além da redução em vinte e quatro vezes o número de reclamações de clientes. Através do trabalho de inspeção em todos os veículos produzidos, foi possível garantir os resultados inicialmente planejados pelo projeto.<br>Within the context of the search for the perfect product and process, this paper presents an analysis of Six Sigma in a job post, with the DMAIC methodology, in a company in the automotive sector. The study was developed in the post regulator handbrake of a light vehicle automotive company, which it is an item of legislation in accordance with Resolution of the National Department of Transit. The company saw itself up over 30% of defects in less than ten days of production. In this scenario, it was decided to carry out an improvement project with a Six Sigma approach in regulating and control equipment (bank roll) due to the results of current defects exceed the number of defects in the entire previous year. The option for the use of Six Sigma methodology in the search for solution to the problem was a strategic decision by senior management of the organization, in order to solve this (chronic) problem since other quality programs developed at the company didnt have the same success in other case studies, aiming thereby reducing the defects from the effective application of this tool. The goal was to show a case study of the application of Six Sigma methodology for eliminating defects in setting up the handbrake, generated in the process of automatic regulation, eliminating rework by tassagem method of manual handbrake regulating system in the next post, through the following specific objectives: identifying the problem and the benefits of applying Six Sigma in the company, and the improvement in operating results. During the development process as a whole, satisfactory results were obtained in relation to the amount of gear teeth to be controlled, specification of maximum torque and reduced cost of rework in almost a hundred and twenty thousand reais per month, in addition to reducing in twenty-four times the number of customers complaints. Through the work of inspection on all vehicles produced, could guarantee the results initially planned for the project.

O processo de externalização dos serviços financeiros, com utilização a recursos partilhados é já uma prática corrente nas organizações com dimensões multinacional. O objetivo passa pela estreita colaboração entre as companhias,levando a uma redução de custos e à libertação de recursos, focando-se sobre a atividade principal. Com a definição do modelo de estratégia de gestão Seis Sigma, a escolha da metodologia recaiu sobre o DMAIC (Define-Definir; Measure - Medir; Analyse ? Analise; Improve ? Melhorar; Control ? Controlar) A revisão de literatura foi efetuada sobre o tema de externalização dos serviços internos de uma organização. Uma vez que o conceito de qualidade está relacionado com o trabalho apresentado, foi efetuado um estudo sobre este tema. Foi igualmente efetuado na revisão de literatura, uma descrição para perceber a relação existente entre a estratégia e a metodologia, assim como o próprio conceito.A externalização dos serviços ocorreu muito recentemente,o que permitiu uma participação e interação muito ativa entre os recursos. Foi efetuada a análise passo a passo de todo o processo, de acordo com a metodologia escolhida. As conclusões do processo analisado, levam a que possa responder positivamente à questão chave deste trabalho: Será que o processo de externalização dos serviços financeiros (área de fornecedores) veio melhorar os indicadores chave de performance (KPI) face ao processo anterior?<br>The present work analyzes the KPI?s (Key Performance Indicators) of the financial area, based on the real project of the pharmaceutical company ABC in the Iberian affiliate. The process of outsourcing in the financial services, using shared resources is already a current practice in the organizations with multinational size. The objective requires a strong collaboration between the two companies, leading to a reduction in costs, free up resources, focusing over the core business. With the definition of six sigma management strategy model, the choice has fallen on DMAIC methodology (Define-Measure-Analyze- Improve-Control). The literature review was performed about the topic of outsourcing internal services of an organization. Once the concept of quality is linked to this work presentation, was made a study about this issue. Was also performed in the literature review, a description was made to realize the relationship between the strategy and methodology, as well as itself concept. Outsourcing of services was fairly recently, which allowed a very active participation and interaction between resources. The analysis was done step by step of this process, according to the chosen methodology. The conclusions of the process may lead to answer to key question of this work: Does the externalization of financial services (suppliers? area) have improved the key performance indicators (KPI) compared with the previous process?
