Improvements of neuroscience tools and their wider availability complements previously used qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques with neurophysiological methods and techniques to help us find out what respondents really think. In the Czech Republic, these methods are relatively new. Agencies focusing on market research have started using these methods in 2010 and currently are in the process of establishing neurological and neurophysiological techniques in the portfolio of offered services. There are not many studies on the techniques in the academic world, there is no guide for sociologists and students of sociology and this paper therefore aims to present neurological and neurophysiological research methods and techniques, to define their place in research methods, to highlight their advantages, disadvantages and limitations as a tool for marketing (eventually sociological) research in comparison with traditional methods and techniques, to map the current situation of their use in the Czech Republic, to reflect on the ethical issue of using the methods and their future.

Between the researcher and the participant: Requirements on sociological research methods and techniques Abstract The dissertation thesis deals with the design of methods and techniques which mediate the commnunication between a researcher and a participant (in-depths, surveys, etc.). The aim of the paper is to comprehensively assess a research practice by a number of criteria and thought experiments. The paper discusses 24 requirements which could be set on the method. It is rooted in the revised moderated neopositivist paradigm specifically from Carnap's concept of observation and theoretical language. It is further enhanced with the concept of conceptual spaces and the social representations concept. The extended theoretical approach is called "achieving the explanation" and it emphasizes (1) the meaning of theoretical assumptions of the scientific model including methodological aspects. (2) The common knowledge is approached as a complex social representation not only an attitude. (3) It stresses the importance of so called fix points which enable the translation between common and scientific knowledge. The thesis is focused on the process of designing the research in all its stages, on the theoretical and conceptual principles and on specific aspects of cooperation with participants.

The diploma thesis Classroom Instructions in Teaching English aims at presenting basic principles of giving instructions during English lessons and their practical use. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The latter is further separated into a list of textbook instructions and a list of instructions used in classes. The theoretical part describes an important relation of instructions and the classroom situation as well as the dependence on the immediate response from the students. The ensuing part deals with applying the theoretical principles in practice. The author gathered instructions used in the third edition of New Headway series textbooks and instructions used by teachers in English lessons at various types of schools (the age of the observed students ranged from 7 to 18 years old) not only to illustrate usage of the theoretical principles in practice but also to show the differences between textbook and classroom instructions and to present a sample of instructions that are used at several schools in the Czech Republic. Abstract:
Thesis title: A description of significant differences in technical preparation of water slalom and canoe sprint in K1 category. Thesis objective: The objective of the thesis is to determine the main features typical of technical preparation of kayakers in Czech canoeing clubs and to describe possible differences in the preparation of sprint kayakers and water slalom kayakers. Methods of data processing: The work is based on mixed research. The racers and coaches were presented with a questionnaire concerning technical preparation. Collected output was analyzed using the methods of quantitative research and of analytical induction. Results: Several significant differences were detected between the technical preparation of sprint kayakers and water slalom racers. To develop basic kayaking strokes, water slalom racers in mostly younger age categories use other water sports, especially wild water, more frequently. In preparatory exercises sprint racers limit themselves to stroke sequencing. Water slalom racers use a wider range of preparatory exercises to develop basic kayaking stroke. In order to gain feedback, water slalom racers use videorecording analysis several times a month and that not only during technical preparation period. In sprint canoeing the videorecording analysis is used...

Abstract:
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of analytical chemistry Candidate: Hana Plečková Supervisor: Doc. PharmDr. Lucie Nováková Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis: Development of method for the identification of alkaloids in plant extracts from Amaryllidaceae using UHPLC-MS/MS. The purpose of this thesis is the development of method for identification of alkaloids from the family Amaryllidaceae in plant extracts using coupling of two methods UHPLC and MS/MS. The combination of methods UHPLC and MS/MS enables to work with the very small particles (< 2 µm) thereby fast separation with high efficiency and reduction of analysis time is achieved. MS is used for determination of atomic weight, molecular weight after the ionization of neutral species. The development of methods was first conducted on UHPLC with PDA detection which served for the choice of optimal stationary and mobile phase. The tested columns were following: BEH PHENYL, BEH C18, BEH SHIELD RP18, HSS T3. The possibilities of separation and the behavior of the monitored substances at different pH (3 and 9), retention time and flow rate were studied. The column BEH SHIELD RP18 provided the best results of these columns, using buffer pH 3 and methanol as an organic modifier, and then flow rate 0.4 ml/min....

AND KEYWORDS This final thesis deals with "Methods and techniques of drama in education suitable in kindergarten praxis for children aged 3 to 4 years." It studies the suitability of selected techniques and methods when used in drama education of 3-4 year-old children. The thesis has a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part we try to outline related issues, taking a professional perspective and using scholarly resources. This creates a point of departure for the practical part, which begins by identifying goals, asking questions and choosing methods of study. As its primary method of study the thesis selects the analysis and evaluation of real drama education lessons. The practical part draws upon work according to the School Education Programme and Class Education Programme, and uses related literature (Hana Budínská: "Games for six senses"). It also utilizes books for children, analysing selected fairy-tales and poems. At the end the practical part summarizes all findings and evaluates the research questions. The conclusion discusses the new knowledge acquired through working on this thesis. The thesis tries to describe work with children aged between three and four years, in nursery school drama education lessons. Both theory and practice are taken into account. The focus is...
