Abstract:
Abstract Cone spherical metrics are conformal metrics with constant curvature one and finitely many conical singularities on compact Riemann surfaces. By using Strebel differentials as a bridge, we construct a new class of cone spherical metrics on compact Riemann surfaces by drawing on the surfaces some class of connected metric ribbon graphs.

Abstract:
It is known that the genus two surface admits a piecewise flat metric with conical singularities which is extremal for the systolic inequality among all nonpositively curved metrics. We prove that this piecewise flat metric is also critical for slow metric variations, without curvature restrictions, for another type of systolic inequality involving the lengths of the shortest noncontractible loops in different free homotopy classes.

AbstractThere are described equations for a pair comprising a Riemannian metric and a Killing field on a surface that contain as special cases the Einstein Weyl equations (in the sense of D. Calderbank) and a real version of a special case of the Abelian vortex equations, and it is shown that the property that a metric solve these equations is preserved by the Ricci flow. The equations are solved explicitly, and among the metrics obtained are all steady gradient Ricci solitons (e.g. the cigar soliton) and the sausage metric; there are found other examples of eternal, ancient, and immortal Ricc

Abstract:
We construct elliptic elements in the algebra of (classical pseudo-differential) operators on a manifold M with conical singularities. The ellipticity of any such operator A refers to a pair of principal symbols (σ0, σ1) where σ0 is the standard (degenerate) homogeneous principal symbol, and σ1 is the so-called conormal symbol, depending on the complex Mellin covariable z. The conormal symbol, responsible for the conical singularity, is operator-valued and acts in Sobolev spaces on the base X of the cone. The σ1-ellipticity is a bijectivity condition for all z of real part (n + 1)/2 − γ, n = d

Abstract:
The paper contains the proof of the index formula for manifolds with conical points. For operators subject to an additional condition of spectral symmetry, the index is expressed as the sum of multiplicities of spectral points of the conormal symbol (indicial family) and the integral from the Atiyah-Singer form over the smooth part of the manifold. The obtained formula is illustrated by the example of the Euler operator on a two-dimensional manifold with conical singular point.

Abstract:
We study the minimal and maximal closed extension of a differential operator A on a manifold B with conical singularities, when A acts as an unbounded operator on weighted Lp-spaces over B,1 < p < ∞. Under suitable ellipticity assumptions we can define a family of complex powers A up(z), z ∈ C. We also obtain sufficient information on the resolvent of A to show the boundedness of the pure imaginary powers. Examples concern unique solvability and maximal regularity of the solution of the Cauchy problem u' - Δu = f, u(0) = 0, for the Laplacian on conical manifolds.

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a new parameterization method to represent rotation matrices using the angles ϕ→ recovered from the three direction cosines that lie on the diagonal. The map from the possible configuration space of the new variable ϕ→ to the solid ball model in axis-angle coordinates is constructed. We also introduce a bi-invariant metric and two left-invariant metrics for measuring the distance in configuration space which could be the foundation for path planning in ϕ→ space. We further analyze the Jacobian matrix and singularities to better understand the manipulability.

To overcome intrinsic problems of iterative algorithms, we propose here a neural network learning of the inverse kinetics of a soft manipulator. To our best knowledge, this
