Objective. To study the effect of Mexidol on the level of factors regulating neuroregenesis. Material and methods. The study was performed on male Wistar rats. Focal cerebral ischemia was reproduced by endovascular occlusion-reperfusion of the right medial cerebral artery. The duration of occlusion was 60 min. During the beginning of reperfusion, the animals were given a single intravenous injection of saline solution or the drug Mexidol at a dose of 50 mg/kg. 4, 8 and 24 hours after the beginning of reperfusion in the ischemic hemisphere, the relative amount of molecules regulating neurogenes

Clinically significant anxiety occurs in 5-7% of the general population and in 25% or more of patients seen by general practitioners. The lifetime incidence of anxiety disorders can be over 30%. Anxiety in adolescence and young adulthood often later develops into depression. The line between a “normal” response to a threat and a pathological anxiety disorder is often very blurred and there may be a continuum from personal distress to mental disorder. The real clinical situation is that most people with anxiety do not have their diagnosis. Only about a quarter (27.6%) of people who meet DSM-V,

Experimental irradiation of rat’s head with protons (2 Gy) showed that mexidol injected at a dose of 150 mg/kg/d during 7 days of exposure and one day after improved considerably cognitive functions in the conditioned response tests (Active avoidance and Open field). Increase of the dose up to 250 mg\kg\d does not retain the effect. We may hypothesize that mexidol at a dose of 150 mg/kg/d compensates significantly the proton-induced changes, whereas a larger dose leads to hypercompensation with some negative manifestations.
