Full textThe present investigation mentions the laboratory analysis regarding the placement of asphalt at a temperature below six degrees centigrade, taking into account that Peru has different types of climates throughout its territory, this makes the asphalt production and its placement is a difficulty for any type of road project, which leads us to a reality in the production of hot asphalt, since knowing the standards we currently have, that makes placement impossible to a temperature below six degrees centigrade. The research is focused on a qualitative - quantitative analysis which must comply with the quality parameters (Tests), road manual (EG - 2013) and constructive process (Marshall method) the realization of the asphalt mix proposal will vary in the percentage of different types of filler that we have considered for the research (lime, portland cement type I and silica). For the tests, test tubes were carried out without any type of additives, once the test tubes were prepared at 140ºC, they were subjected to freezing, resulting, of the three types of filler, that the hot asphalt mix with incorporation of portland cement type I at a 5,90% asphalt cement is the optimal one complying with the parameters and technical specifications of the road manual.

Full textThe surface layer of the pavement is exposed to various external agents that challenge its properties. If these agents are not foreseen in the mix design, different deformations are generated, including permanent deformation. Excessive tread deformations provide low levels of serviceability. This problem also generates an additional investment of cost and time in maintenance. The present research studies the effects that basalt and lignin fibers have in the asphalt mix to improve its mechanical properties and thus reduce the deformations in the asphalt mat. Previous research indicated that the suggested percentages of basalt and lignin fibers are 0.3% of the total weight of the sample each. Two asphalt mixes were designed. The first sample represents a conventional mixture made with aggregates from the southern area of Lima, Conchán. The second was made with the same components, but with the addition of the indicated percentages of basalt fibers and lignin. Both samples were subjected to the Marshall stability and flow tests, and the compressive strength test. From the results obtained, it is observed that the incorporation of basalt and lignin increases the stability of the mixture in 6.45%, the Marshall stiffness index in 5.8% and the compressive strength in 4%. The properties allowed, allow to have a mixture with greater resistance and greater durability.

Full textThis Thesis Project aims to provide guidelines for a flexible pavement using hot mix asphalt to more than 3,000 m.s.n.m. To do this step by step followed the implementation of the Road Project Dv. Imperial-Pampas in Tayacaja district, province of Huancavelica; which allowed examine the problems that arise in each of the stages of implementation of the asphalt produced in hot, much of it caused by climatic and geographical conditions, which constitute the main topic of analysis. The thesis consists of seven chapters; The first chapter is a presentation of the thesis project, the second and third chapter shows the fundamental and specific theoretical framework, respectively, the fourth chapter describes the Project Dv. Imperial- Pampas, in the remaining three chapters’ assessment techniques performed incidents in the mechanical behavior of hot mix asphalt at each stage of the process, from the geotechnical characteristics of the aggregates, the theoretical design of the asphalt hot mix, producing the hot mix asphalt plan, placing it and the respective quality tests in the post paved the Project Dv. Imperial – Pampas.

Full textThe purpose of this research work is to promote the use of recycled rubber powder as a component in the design of asphalt in order to reduce the permanent deformation of the asphalt binder and thus improve its useful life by using the Hamburg wheel. The problem of the present work is the lack of information regarding the background of the use of rubber powder especially in the local environment. In addition in our country there is no industry dedicated to the production of rubber powder. It should also be considered that in Peru there is no culture of using recycled materials as components for the improvement of asphalt in pavement projects. The purpose of this research is to leave a background to continue with the research work on the use of rubber dust and improve the design of the asphalt mix. In addition to promoting the use of recycled materials for road infrastructure projects in order to care for the environment and improve the quality of life of citizens.

Full textOne of the problems in the transport sector of the city of Lima, is the terrible state in which the pavements are found, due to the high vehicular traffic and the climatic conditions, since in the last years the automobile park has increased in a way exponential, generating the deterioration of the pavements and as a consequence when carrying out the maintenance operations, it causes chaos and vehicular traffic. This thesis seeks the solution to this problem, proposing the design of an asphalt mixture that has the property of self-repair, taking as a starting point the design of the conventional asphalt mixture, to which polymers and fibers of steel wool are incorporated, with the purpose to improve the physical and mechanical behavior, and find the recuperative capacity, controlling the fissures by inducing heat and extending the useful life of the pavements.
