Purification of distillery spent wash using activated charcoal has great potential as a sustainable method as it is cost effective method. The purpose of this investigation is to study the activated charcoal purification method for purification of distillery spent wash. For this, the study encompassing evaluation of reduction of various physical chemical parameters (pH, COD, TS, TDS, Ca, Mg, Na and K) of distillery spent wash was done by passing it through the activated charcoal column. The distillery spent wash was acidic (pH 4.7) and dark brown in color which often cause psychological fear i

Four graded doses of dl-methionine at 0, 0·5, 1·0 or 1·5 g/kg diet were added to a methionine-limiting basal diet and fed to four replicate groups of four ducks each. The growth and efficiency of food use for growth increased linearly (P < 0·05) as a function of methionine intake. Abstract:
8009 Background: Sorafenib (SO) is an oral Raf kinase/VEGFR-2 inhibitor that has anti-melanoma activity when given with carboplatin/paclitaxel. The primary objective of this study is to estimate the duration of progression-free survival (PFS) for patients with metastatic melanoma (MM) taking SO + temozolomide (TEM). Secondary objectives are to determine the optimal dosing of TEM when given with SO, response, and toxicity rates. Correlative studies include BRAF genotyping and assessment of intratumoral Raf inhibition. Methods: Patients with MM and ECOG PS<2 are eligible. Prior therapy is all

8009 Background: Melphalan-prednisone + thalidomide (MPT) or bortezomib (MPV) are approved in frontline MM patients (pts) >65 years. Both regimens demonstrated significant benefit over MP alone in terms of PFS and OS but this benefit could be hampered by the risk of peripheral neuropathy (PN). Carfilzomib (Cfz) is a novel proteasome inhibitor that has demonstrated promising activity and favorable toxicity profile, with low rates of PN. This phase I/II study was designed to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of CMP, to assess safety and evaluate efficacy of this combination in newly

A way to solve the problem of stabilizing hemp oil from oxidative spoilage while maintaining its nutritional value is considered. The peculiarity of the work lies in the development of a flavored oil composition based on hemp oil, which is highly resistant to oxidation. The object of the study is the composition indicators and the induction period of accelerated oxidation of a blend of refined hemp and corn oils, depending on their ratio in the oil composition. It was established that samples of selected oils (hemp and corn) meet the requirements of regulatory documentation according to the st

Methods: Eligible pts (stage IIIB/IV NSCLC, PS 0–2, 1–2 prior chemotherapies; all histologies permitted) were randomized 1:1 to receive vandetanib 300 mg/day or erlotinib 150 mg/day until progression/toxicity. The object of the study is the process of chemical transesterification of sunflower oil. Liquid vegetable oils are an important component in the products of chemical, cosmetic, paint, food and other industries. Among other oils, sunflower oil is of exceptional industrial importance. Chemical transesterification technology is used to obtain oils, fats and their mixtures with specified properties required for various industries. An important task is to develop rational conditions for the oil transesterification process using a highly efficient and safe catalyst. The process of chemical transeste
