This paper briefly reviews the research literature on motivational interviewing (MI) and behaviour change in adolescents and then discusses the implications of adolescent cognitive and social–emotional developmental processes for the relational and technical components of MI. Research suggests that MI is efficacious in improving substance use in adolescents. Research has been slower to emerge in other behaviours, but available randomized controlled trials suggest that MI has great promise for improving mental and physical health outcomes in this developmental period. Introduction: Orthodontic treatment is meant to provide patients with stable occlusion and an esthetic smile, and often improves a patient's self-esteem. Unfortunately, and too often, an ideal orthodontic finish in terms of alignment and occlusion is tarnished by the appearance of white spot lesions on the facial surface of teeth after removing the fixed appliances. These white spots detract from the esthetics of a patient's smile. Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of MI PasteTM (GC Ame

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in modern society. Over the past decades, mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs)-based therapy has shown promising results in the treatment of MI due to their unique properties of multi-differentiation ability, immune-privileged phenotype and paracrine activity. Recently, MSC-derived exosomes (MSC-EXO) have been proposed as a promising therapeutic strategy for MI with their ability to inhibit cardiomyocyte apoptosis and stimulate vascular angiogenesis.
