Full textThe Forum of Augustus in Rome was a great public square opened in 2 BC built around the Avenger Mars temple with long marble porticoes and filled with sculpture series that resumed all the history of Rome from its very foundation, the deeds of all its great men and of the house of Augustus, Pater Patriae. We focused on the relationship of the different architectural spaces with the decoration, offering a reading of the multiple iconographic sets using the symbolic and visual links between the iconic elements. This work has allowed us to reveal the complex web of relationships between the sculptures and reliefs that were the iconographic program of the forum.

The Milun fault is the northern extension part of the Longitudinal valley which is the suture between the Philippine Sea plate and the Eurasian plate on the Taiwan Island. The Milun fault relates to two destructive earthquakes on October 22nd, 1951, and February 6th, 2018, respectively. The 1951 ML 7.3 earthquake and the 2018 MW 6.4 earthquake both produced surface ruptures along the Milun fault, causing casualties and damage on buildings in the Hualien city. Although the Milun Fault is surely a hazardous fault, the subsurface configuration and history of this active fault remain little exposed. The purpose of this study is to uncover the fault at shallow depth, reason the activity and seismic history of the Milun Fault and estimate the recurrence interval. Three trenches and four boreholes were carried out at the Hualien Air-Force Base, where surface ruptures were reported during the 2018 earthquake. The main trench with two stages is 36 m in length, 4 m in width, and 7 m in depth. The Milun main fault revealed on the trench wall dips 80° to the east, and its branch faults dip 36°, 56°, and 70° to the east, respectively. Some clues are related to paleoseismic events, including the colluvial wedges, folded growth strata, and liquefaction. By compiling the results of restoration and stripping of strata in conjunction with the age constraints, five paleo-earthquake events associated with the Milun Fault are resolved: (1) the 2018 event (2) the 1951 event and the earlier ones occurred at (3) 790-144 cal yr BP (4) 2360-1301 cal yr BP (5) 3980-2306 cal yr BP. The intervals between each paleo-earthquake events indicate that the recurrence interval of the Milun fault might be irregular. Further investigation will be needed to evaluate the recurrence interval of the Milun fault. Based on the borehole data, the throw component of the Milun fault is 17.9-18.6 m. Combined with the dating result, the maximum uplift rate of the Milun fault is 2.9-3.4 mm/yr.

In 1951, a M7.3 earquake struck Hualien and there were 1.2m and 2m movement in vertical and horizontal direction respectively along Milun fault. Historical surface deformation monitoring results showd that Milun fault was locked. However, the trace of the Milun fault in 2000 and 2010 active fault maps published by the Central Geological Survey, Taiwan is quite different. Previous Campaign GPS surveys along Milun fault were precise but these results were discontinuous in time. Therefore, there is a need of further investigation, especially increasing the number of continuous GPS station along the trace of the 2000 and 2010 Milun fault. In addititon to the existing PEPU and HUAL GPS stations, the Eastern Taiwan Earthquake Research Center (ETEC) has built 5 continuous GPS stations along the Milun fault since 2013. The common error of the GPS position time series from those GPS stations has been removed by used spatial filtering methods in order to provide a continuous record of the crust deformation along Milun fault. The noise of the GPS time series is best described by using White noise + Flicker noise model. This indicates that the noise can not be reduced like White noise only example if one increases monitoring time. These common error however can be reduced about 59% using spatial filters. The GPS velocity field reference to ITRF2008 shows a general pattern of 3.48-17.94mm/yr moving eastward in Hualien between 2011 and 2016. The profiles of GPS velocity field demonstrate there is a movement across the alluvial fan of Mugua River, but one can’t determine whether it is the Milun fault or not. NDH3 is lifting with a speed of 9.2mm/yr and this is very similar to those of the uplift rate of the Central Range. According to the strain analysis, Milun tableland displays a 4.09μstrain/yr tension but Milun hill shows a -0.59μstrain/yr compressive. There is not trace of Milun fault in Mukua River in 2m/4m DEM and this may suggest either there was no enough historical surface deformation or the sediment accumulation rate is very high in this area.

The purpose of this study focuses on taking the saving quality of military disaster relief personnel rescuing victims as main range. Through IPA, people can understand the differences between importance and performance of the quality when military rescuing victims to develop related to improve suggestions. Hoping to provide military some quality improved strategy as future suggestions. After the characteristically analysis of disaster relief personnel, they discovered that the experience of relief personnel who actually participate in disaster relief is accounting for up to 61.0% at a time; As for personnel transfer is accounting for up to 39.0% as the most; Material receiving and distributing are up to 30.5% as secondly; Assisting victims in search is up to 24.4%. Moreover is the part of providing service and supply to victims. For service, first priority is to provide drinking fountains, second priority is to provide power equipment and third priority is bathing equipment. As for supply, first priority is water, second priority are dry food and instant noodle and third priority is medical equipment. Through the results that IPA shows, they discovered that there are 6 projects located at maintain achievement area in first quadrant of military salvage service quality, 3projects located at high priority area in second quadrant, 6 projects located at low priority area in third quadrant and 4 projects located at excessive area in fourth quadrant. Among all, those 3 projects which located at high priority area in second quadrant are “Military provides advanced disaster relieving equipments”、“Military provides comprehensive disaster relieving equipments” and “Military disaster relief personnel possess professional disaster relief skills”. To compare the age under 20 years old and 21-30 years old military personnel with between 31-40 years old and 41-50 years old personnel, younger personnel have a higher self-identification; Corporal have to administrate and train those salvage personnel and equipment in normal time, so corporal also have a higher self-identification than sergeant; Military personnel whose responsible for personnel transfer, environment recovery and disinfection operation have higher self-identification than those who’s responsible for goods receiving and distributing.
