Abstract:
AbstractThis paper describes the technical features of the light electric vehicle (L2e-category) named BICAR. This specially designed vehicle is an all-in-one emissions-free micro-mobility solution providing a cost-effective and sustainable mobility system while supporting the transition towards a low carbon society (smart and sustainable city concept). The BICAR represents part of a multimodal system, complementing public transport with comfort and safety, relieving inner-city congestion and solving the “first and last mile” issue. The BICAR is the lightest and smallest three-wheel vehicle with weather protection. Due to the space-saving design, six to nine BICARS will fit into a single standard parking space. Safety is increased by an elevated driving position and a tilting mechanism when cornering. The BICAR achieves a range of 40–60 km depending on the battery package configuration in urban transport at a speed of 45 km/h. It features a luggage storage place and exchangeable, rechargeable batteries. The BICAR can be driven without a helmet thanks to the safety belt system, which is engineered for street approved tests. The BICAR has an integrated telematic box connected to the vehicle electronics and communicating with the dedicated mobile application, through which the BICAR can be geo-localised, reserved, locked/unlocked and remotely maintained.

There are numerous forms of energy that can gratify the needs of computing, these energies include solar, thermal, mechanical, wind, acoustic, and wave for different devices and applications. With ubiquitous computing requirements for self-powered devices such as MEMS (Micro-electromechanical systems) and these devices have narrow capacity of finite power sources and it is needed that these systems are needed to be supplied with energy for the lifetime of the system. Mostly Batteries are the main source of energy for many of these mobile systems, embedded systems and remote system applications. There is a requirement for Energy harvesting which is a method of extracting energy from the nearby environment called Environmental energy which can be used as supernumerary to electrochemical battery. Studies are being conducted to harvest energy from solar, wind, thermal, tidal and other mechanical sources which have limited lifespan. This paper serves as a study to identify various sources of energy available for harvesting centered on various technical papers available and present the work carried out by investigators in identifying them.

In view of the current thermal safety and thermal balance of power lithium batteries, it takes the heat generation, heat transfer and heat dissipation of batteries as the main line, and uses the method of combining CFD simulation with experimental research to explore the application of expanded graphite based composite micro heat pipe coupling heat dissipation technology to BTMS. The reliability of the battery heat generation model is verified by experiments. The structure of the heat pipe is designed based on the phase change heat transfer and heat generation of the pipe. The CPCM heat transfer and micro heat pipe heat transfer models are coupled to form a hybrid BTMS numerical heat transfer model, and the optimal design of the system is carried out, so that the system mass is reduced by 15∼50%, the volume is reduced by 10∼50%, so as to prevent the battery temperature from being too high. Finally, a set of perfect BTMS thermal design, simulation analysis methods and processes are summarized, which provides a set of theoretical basis for the development and design of complex BTMS.
