The soil pathogenic fungus Phytophthora cactorum causes the most dangerous diseases occurring in strawberry plantations—strawberry crown rot and leather rot. Modern biotechnology methods, e.g., in vitro culture selection and molecular diagnostics can be utilized in the selection of cultivars that are less susceptible or resistant to Phytophthora diseases. In this study, in vitro selection of four strawberry microclones: ‘Elsanta’, ‘Feltar’, ‘Teresa’ and ‘Plena SVdT’ against Phytophthora cactorum (Lebert and Cohn) J. Schröt was carried out. Background. The micropropagation methods are used for the conservation of Pyrus L. phytodiversity, as well as for the creation of collections of the threatened species and pear cultivars including genotypes necessary for breeding and genetic studies. Materials and Methods. The two Pyrus species, P. communis, and P. salicifolia Pall. as well as four pear P. communis cultivars, ’Bere Desiatova’, ’Umans’ka Juvileina’, ’Kniahynia Olga’, and ’Sofia Umans’ka’, were chosen as the experimental plants. When studying the formation of secondary metabolites represented by phenolic compounds in callus cultures of sunflower plants, it was found that under in vitro conditions under the influence of a stress factor, the accumulation of polyphenols increases. It was found that the biosynthetic activity of callus cultures with respect to polyphenol increases in proportion to the concentration of the culture filtrate of the fungus (Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum) in the nutrient medium. This is confirmed by the qualitative and quantitative determination of the content of polyphenols in callus cultures. In s

Water deficits inhibit plant growth and decrease crop productivity. Remedies are needed to counter this increasingly urgent problem in practical farming. One possible approach is to utilize rhizobacteria known to increase plant resistance to abiotic and other stresses. We therefore studied the effects of inoculating the culture medium of potato microplants grown in vitro with Azospirillum brasilense Sp245 or Ochrobactrum cytisi IPA7.2. Growth and hormone content of the plants were evaluated under stress-free conditions and under a water deficit imposed with polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000). Inoc

The endogenous brassinosteroids content in the roots and shoots of early- and mid-season potato microclones was determined. Among the analyzed plant steroid hormones were representatives of brassinolide group, 24-epi- brassinolide group, 28-homobrassinolide group, B-lactones and B-ketons. The level of all brassinosteroids in plant roots exceeded significantly that in shoots, irrespective of the potato term of ripening. Of interest is the fact that in plant shoots there were no BS groups of 24-epibrassinolide. We have first found a relationship between the terms of potato ripening and endogenou

Venetoclax (VEN) combined with low-dose cytarabine (LDAC) is highly effective in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with either measurable residual disease (MRD) or oligoblastic (5-15% blasts) relapse (VALDAC study) (Tiong et al, JCO 2024). We have previously shown that VEN-based therapy enhances selection of TP53 deficient leukemic clones with TP53 variants observed in 32% of patients (pts) at relapse (DiNardo et al, Blood 2020 and Thijssen et al, Blood 2021). In order to further understand the origins of these clones, we aimed to sensitively assess the clonal hematopoietic landscape in remission i
