Composite solid propellant is a particle reinforced composite material, and its microstructure strongly affects its macroscopic mechanical properties. This article reviews the current research status of macroscopic mechanical experiments and microscopic experiments. In terms of macroscopic mechanical performance testing, based on the description of the number of loading axes used to load the specimen, the development of related experimental research on uniaxial loading is relatively mature, while research on multi-axial loading is still lacking, and a unified standard has not yet been formed.

Steel fibers are typically used in ultra-high performance concretes (UHPC) to impart flexural ductility and increase fracture toughness. However, the mechanical properties of the steel fibers are underutilized in UHPC, as evidenced by the fact that most of the steel fibers pull out of a UHPC matrix largely undamaged during tensile or flexural tests. This research aims to improve the bond between steel fibers and a UHPC matrix by using steel wool. The underlying mechanism for fiber-matrix bond improvement is the reinforcement of the matrix tunnel, surrounding the steel fibers, by steel wool. Si

Abstract:
Sweet sorghum straw is lignocellulosic material that is promoted as an alternative feedstock for ethanol production because it is available and inexpensive. Due to its composition of cellulose and hemicelluloses, that could be hydrolyzed into fermentable sugars. The composition of sweet sorghum straw used in this study consists of 44.51% cellulose, 38.12% hemicelluloses and 6.18% lignin. Conversion of this potential feedstock requires a pretreatment step to alter the microscopic size and structure of the lignocelluloses. This research was studied in order to find the optimum conditions on hydr
