Abstract:
Data hiding is emerging as an important area of research with the advent of digital technologies. Watermarking, fingerprinting and steganography are important applications of data hiding techniques. Besides the classical use of data hiding in ownership protection, authentication and copy/access control, it serves as a general tool to convey side information. New files are a good choice for steganographic carriers. In this paper, the authors use Microsoft Excel as a cover file. A methodology has been developed that consists of three techniques for embedding the valuable data with three layers of security and high robustness. The resultant stego Excel file can be transmitted anywhere using any channel. Experimental results show the feasibility of the proposed methodology.

Adapun sistematika pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian terdiri dari presentasi, pemamparan dan diskusi yang dapat dilakukan dengan cara sebagai berikut: Pemaparan tentang penjelasan terkait microsft excel berupa (ceramah) kepada peserta serta diberikan materi langkah-langkah penggunaan microsoft excel; Memberikan aplikasi dan menginstal Microsoft Excel; Mempelajari fitur Micorosft Excel; Pemaparan tentang penjelasana terkait penyusunan laporan keuangan berupa (ceramah) kepada peserta serta diberikan materi berupa langkah-langkah penyusunan laporan keuangan; Praktik menginput, memproses dan mengoutput hasil laporan keuangan UMKM yang dicoba dibuat dalam Microsoft Excel.  Microsoft Excel applications are generally used for office worker, clerical computation and users generally use only a portion of the features of some features owned by the application. In this case, the user can maximize the ability of Excel by creating an interactive pseudo database using only Microsoft Excel, so users can organize data with automated database schema. Rarely, however, does the calculus student recognize the full power and applications for the mathematical concepts and tools that are taught. Frank R. Giordano, Maurice D. Weir, and William P. Fox produced A First Course in Mathematical Modeling a unique text designed to address this shortcoming and teach the student how to identify, formulate, and interpret the real world in mathematical terms. Mathematical modeling is the application of mathematics to explain or predict real world behavior. Often real world data are collected and used to veriiy or validate (and sometimes formulate) a hypothetical model or scenario. Inevitably, in such situations, it is desirable and necessary to have computational support available to analyze the large amounts of data. Certainly this eliminates the tedious and inefficient hand calculations necessary to validate and apply the model (assuming the calculations can even be reasonably done by hand). The primary purpose of Mathematical Modeling Using Microsoft Excel is to provide instructions and examples for using the spreadsheet program Microsoft Excel to support a wide range of mathematical modeling applications. Microsoft Excel is a powerful spreadsheet program which allows the user to organize numerical data into an easy to follow on-screen grid of columns and rows. Our version of Excel is based on Microsoft Windows. In this text, it is not the intent to teach mathematical modeling, but rather to provide computer support for most of the modeling topics covered in A First Course in Mathematical Modeling. Elektronische Prüfungen (E-Assessments) mit standardisierten Aufgabenformaten sind in teilnehmerstarken Prüfungssituationen ein besonders effizientes Testverfahren (Michel, Goertz, Radomski, Fritsch, & Baschour, 2015; Pengel, Hawlitschek, & Karapanos, 2019). Gleichzeitig entstehen mit ihrem Einsatz hohe Aufwände bei der Verwaltung der notwendigen Aufgabensammlungen (Itempool-Management). Die gegenwärtig eingesetzten Learning-Management-Systeme (LMS) unterstützen die in diesem Zusammenhang anfallenden Arbeitsaufgaben oft nur unzureichend, obwohl effizientere Methoden technisch machbar erscheinen. Zwar verfügen LMS wie ILIAS oder OPAL grundlegend über alle notwendigen Funktionen zur Erstellung, Bearbeitung und für den Austausch von Testitems. Die browserbasierten grafischen Schnittstellen erfordern allerdings ein hohes Maß an ‚Klickarbeit‘, sind wegen der technisch bedingten Wartezeiten zwischen Eingabe und Systemantwort bei synchronen Webdiensten nicht immer zeiteffizient und erscheinen damit für den Aufbau und die Pflege großer Itempools wenig geeignet. Die Plattformen offenbaren darüber hinaus Schwächen bei der Erfassung und Bearbeitung wichtiger inhaltsbezogener Metadaten wie der Anforderungsstufe, zugeordneter Learning Outcomes oder der thematischen Verortung eines Items innerhalb einer Wissensdomäne. Auch die vorhandenen Import-/Exportschnittstellen für die Offline-Bearbeitung stellen keine zufriedenstellende Lösung des Problems dar, weil sie wegen des in der Regel genutzten XML-Dateiformats für technische Laien weitgehend gebrauchsuntauglich sind. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird ein Interaktionskonzept für das Itempool-Management auf Basis von Microsoft Excel vorgestellt, das die benannten Schwachstellen adressiert und eine Alternative zu bestehenden Lösungen anbietet. Seine praktische Eignung wird anhand von Ergebnissen eines vergleichenden Nutzertests überprüft und diskutiert.

This thesis proposes an implementation of an improved algorithm for solving nonlinear separable integer programming problems, as they arise in the field of system reliability. The reliability redundancy optimization solver (RROS) improves on a hybrid technique of dynamic programming with depth first search with tighter variable bounds. The implementation takes the form of an Excel add-in, which will be familiar to users with little formal OR/MS training. The user interface design is discussed. Example applications with benchmarks show that the RROS offers accurate solutions in a comparatively efficient way. This thesis further introduces a surrogate method to solve nonlinear problems with non-separable objectives, where a separable constraint is used as a surrogate objective. This is shown to yield solutions to a number of difficult cases.

O estudo termo-hidráulico, utilizado para análise de acidentes e transientes em reatores nucleares, é feito com o uso de algumas ferramentas computacionais sofisticadas. Esses programas utilizam uma filosofia realista (best estimate) para análise de acidentes e transientes em reatores refrigerados à água leve do tipo PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) e sistemas associados. O código RELAP5, objeto de nosso estudo, tem sido usado como uma ferramenta para o licenciamento de instalações nucleares no nosso país. Uma das maiores dificuldades na simulação de acidentes e transientes em uma instalação nuclear com o código RELAP5 é a quantidade de informações necessárias, que na maioria dos casos é muito grande. Além disso, existe a necessidade de uma quantidade razoável de operações matemáticas para os cálculos da geometria dos componentes. Portanto, a fim de facilitar a manipulação destas informações, percebeu-se a necessidade do desenvolvimento de um pré-processador amigável com o usuário, para realização desses cálculos e para elaboração dos dados de entrada do RELAP5. A ferramenta escolhida foi o MS-EXCEL, que apresentou grande potencialidade no desenvolvimento do pré-processador desejado.<br>Computational program are used for thermal hydraulic analysis of accidents and transients conditions in nuclear power plants. The RELAP5 code has been developed to simulate accidents and transients conditions, performing a best estimate analysis, in Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and auxiliary systems. The RELAP5 code, which has been used as a tool for licensing nuclear facilities in Brazil, is the objective of the study performed in this work. The main problem in using the RELAP5 code is the huge amount of information necessary to model the nuclear reactor and thus to simulate thermal-hydraulic accidents. Moreover, the RELAP5 code input data requires a large amount of mathematical operations to calculate the geometry of the plant components. Therefore, in order to make easier the data input for the RELAP5 code a friendly preprocessor has been developed. The preprocessor accepts basic information about the geometry of the plant components and performs all the calculations needed for the RELAP5 input. This preprocessor has been developed based on the MS-EXCEL software.

Abstract:
En esta guía se resolverá un ejercicio de contexto con algunas medidas de dispersión como la varianza, la desviación estándar y el coeficiente de variación para datos desagrupados. Las ecuaciones que se relacionarán son válidas tanto para variables cuantitativas continuas como discretas. Adicionalmente, el procedimiento hecho paso a paso en el ejercicio propuesto se validará con el desarrollo realizado a través de la herramienta ofimática Microsoft Excel. De esta manera, el estudiante tendrá una aplicación de apoyo para la verificación de los ejercicios propuestos para datos desagrupados en la última sección de la guía. La utilización de Microsoft Excel en estadística descriptiva tiene como fin introducir a los estudiantes —en especial, a los del área de ciencias económicas— en hojas de cálculo electrónicas, debido a su versatilidad en la realización de cálculos y tratamiento de datos. Asimismo, toda vez que manejar este tipo de herramientas informáticas se ha vuelto fundamental en prácticamente cualquier trabajo (Eclass, 2020), se considera importante su conocimiento por parte de los estudiantes. Es pertinente destacar que la aplicabilidad de Microsoft Excel incluye distintos sectores del mercado laboral; por ende, es una herramienta útil en diversas áreas de trabajo, como economía, administración, recursos humanos, entre otras, tanto en pequeñas como medianas empresas.

Abstract:
Esta guía práctica se enfoca en datos cualitativos en estadística descriptiva. Inicialmente, se realiza una contextualización sobre este tipo de datos teniendo en cuenta concepto, niveles de medición, tabla de frecuencias, representación gráfica, no solo desde una perspectiva teórica, sino mediante el desarrollo paso a paso de un ejercicio a través de la utilización de Microsoft Excel, con el fin de facilitar la comprensión de la temática en los estudiantes. Es de agregar que el uso de Excel se debe a su relevancia dentro de las empresas, toda vez que posee múltiples ventajas como son: almacenar grandes cantidades de datos, ejecutar consultas y herramientas de análisis eficaces para segmentar y cortar datos y realizar cálculos sofisticados que devuelvan los datos que necesite. Además, Excel es generalmente mejor para analizar datos: realizar cálculos complejos, explorar posibles resultados y producir gráficos de alta calidad, entre otras; por esa razón, se convierte en una herramienta adecuada para el manejo de datos desde un enfoque de apoyo a la gerencia de nivel operativo, así como de nivel medio y superior. Es pertinente incentivar, desde cursos del área transversal como lo son los del área de matemáticas, el uso de esta herramienta asequible, proporcionando una ventaja competitiva dentro de un entorno laboral.

Abstract:
Computer simulation of technical objects and processes is one of the components of the system of professional training of a modern electromechanics engineer. It has been established that despite the fact that mobile Internet devices (MID) are actively used by electrical engineers, the methods of using them in the process of bachelor in electromechanics training is considered only in some domestic scientific studies. The article highlights the components of the methods of using MID in the formation of the ICT component of the competence of the bachelor in electromechanics in modeling of technical objects, providing for students to acquire basic knowledge in the field of Computer Science and modern ICT and skills to use programming systems, math packages, subroutine libraries, and the like. For processing tabular data, it is proposed to use various freely distributed tools that do not significantly differ in functionality, such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, for processing text data – QuickEdit Text Editor, Google Docs, Microsoft Word. For 3D-modeling and viewing the design and technological documentation, the proposed comprehensive use of Autodesk tools in the training process.

The objective of the project documented in the following report was to simplify the use and further demonstrate the application of the complex formulation developed for the stress intensity solutions developed in the previous project. The primary output of the project is a set of software tools (i.e. a Microsoft Excel based tool and a standalone executable software tool) that allows for the rapid calculation of the stress intensity factor solutions along with a set of sample calculations illustrating the use of the software tools. Additionally, a set of sensitivity analyses have been performed that illustrate the effect of various parameters on the SIFs.

Topics covered include a description of the HDD process, technical feasibility and cost considerations, surface and subsurface site investigations, drilled path design, steel pipe installation and operating stress analysis, environmental impact, construction contracts, and construction monitoring. The design guide includes two Microsoft Excel workbooks for use in analyzing HDD installation loads and stresses on steel pipe.

Con el apoyo del Centro de Recursos para el Aprendizaje y la Investigación CRAI-USTA y la Dirección de Investigación e Innovación, se realizó un ejercicio de vigilancia tecnológica, de acuerdo con la metodología propuesta por la norma AENOR UNE 166066:2018, con el fin de establecer la producción científica de la Universidad Santo Tomás, seccional Bucaramanga. Los factores críticos de vigilancia definidos para este ejercicio fueron las publicaciones científicas desarrolladas por los investigadores con afiliación con la “Universidad Santo Tomás, Bucaramanga”. El periodo de observación se estableció entre 2021 – 2022. Para su desarrollo se emplearon las siguientes herramientas de consulta: • Bases de datos bibliográficas de Scopus(Elsevier, B.V., 2022) y de la Core Collection de la plataforma Web of Science (Clarivate, 2022). • Google Scholar a través del programa Publish or Perish (Versión 8, Tarma Software y Anne-Wil Harzing). • Repositorio institucional de la Universidad Santo Tomás para la consulta relacionada con la formación profesional medida a través de los trabajos de grado registrados. Los datos obtenidos fueron procesados mediante • Hoja de cálculo Microsoft Excel (Microsoft Office 365, 2022). • Programa especializado de minería de textos VantagePoint (Licencia Académica 15.0, Search Technology). • Programa de visualización de información VOSviewer versión 1.6.18 (Van Eck y Waltman, 2022).
