One of the important programs that a computer user must have and control is Microsoft Office. As the name implies, this program can help to do data processing work more easily. In Microsoft Office there are many types of programs that can be used, for example Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Word is a program that is very important in everyday life. This program is a word processing program that includes creating, editing and formatting documents. Meanwhile, Microsoft Excel is a program designed to perform number processing. The Unindra community service team will carry out community service activities at the Domyadhu Foundation in the Ciputat branch by providing training on the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Abstract:
One of the basic skills in the current digitalization era is the skill to operate a computer, especially operating Microsoft Office. The problems found in the field are the lack of school facilities in providing computers, lack of computer ownership by each student and limited learning time to deepen Microsoft Office practicum. One solution to overcome this is to hold a basic computer training program. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the influence of the training program on computer operating skills. This research is a quantitative research with a type of experimental design. The sample in this study was 22 class VII students of SMP N 5 East Kupang. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of skills tests and non-tests (observation). The data analysis technique uses a prerequisite analysis test which consists of a normality test and a variance homogeneity test. Furthermore, using the N-Gain test to see the effect of basic computer training programs on students' skills in operating Microsoft Office. The results showed that the significance value of the paired samples test was 0.000 <0.05, which means that there was an influence on the basic computer training program on the ability of students at SMP N 5 Kupang Timur in operating Microsoft Office. It can also be seen from the N-Gain score of 58.2% that the basic computer training program conducted was quite influential in improving the skills of SMP N 5 Kupang Timur students in operating Microsoft Office.

The shift of conventional learning systems to online systems is very, very sudden, there has been no thorough preparation. The system mainly achieved functions including making exams intelligently, collecting and marking documents submitted automatically in the exam by the database, socket, ado and VBA program methods. This system supported some kinds of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. The actual running result showed the system could help teachers to improve work efficiency and students to improve software operations by the way of online actual operation in computers. Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Al-Lathif is an early childhood education level school under the ministry of religion located on Jl. Landscape of Padalarang Regency No. 31, Jayamekar, Padalarang, West Bandung Regency, West Java. The problem faced is the lack of competence of the Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Al-Lathif teachers, especially when using the Microsoft Office Word computer program. The aim is to provide training and mentoring of Microsoft Office Word computer programs to teachers Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Al-Lathif in order to improve teacher competence, especially the use of technology in the learning process. The method of implementing this activity has several stages, namely data collection, problem identification, needs analysis, design and preparation, training implementation and activity documentation. During the training, the teachers were given a printed training module and then they did the exercises by practicing using the Microsoft Office Word computer program. The result of this activity is the establishment of cooperation in order to accelerate efforts to increase skills in operating Microsoft Office Word to process data, make learning implementation plans, create teaching materials and documents in the form of reports and correspondence, resulting in work efficiency to complete various activities to process data using Microsoft Office. Computer technology is one of the technologies that are often used in everyday life. However, not all people have access to learn and operate computers. One of them is elementary and middle school-age children. Limited access to computers is one of the factors that cause elementary and junior high school students not to be able to operate computers. The purpose of the Sang Surya Umko 2022 KKN work program by holding this training is to increase the knowledge of children in Dusun 2 Banjar Harum 1 Village about the function of computers and to improve the ability of elementary and junior high school students in Hamlet 2 Banjar Harum 1 in operating Microsoft Office programs. This activity was carried out from August 1, 2022, to August 31, 2022, located in Hamlet 2 Banjar Harum 1, Madukoro Village, North Kotabumi District, North Lampung Regency. The training activities ran smoothly and were enthusiastically welcomed by the participants. The success of this activity is demonstrated by the ability of participants to operate the Microsoft Office Program.

Abstract:
My thesis is to design a Controlled Area Network (CAN) simulator For Microsoft Windows. In a modern world we deal with complex mechanical systems that require special electronic control to guarantee ultimate safety and efficiency. These electronic control systems are responsible for monitoring subsystems within the mechanical systems. A good example of this is the motor vehicles that are being driven on the road today. These vehicles have been designed with increased safety and efficiency, such as electronic controlled anti lock breaks, fuel injection, and power control steering. To run all of these components, the car needs a very well designed protocol to be able to control series of messages being passed from one subsystem to another. To determine which message being passed has higher priority than any other messages. To deal with such circumstances, the Controlled Area Network (CAN) was designed. The purpose of the CAN simulator is to gather statistical information concerning the arbitration, message transfer, error detection, error signaling, and retransmision. The CAN simulating model will consist of one to sixty nodes. Each node is considered as a subsystem for the CAN simulator. The subsystems will be characterized as the breaks, engine, transmission, or any part of a car which needs to be connected to the CAN system. Each node will send one to ten messages through the CAN system. The CAN system will take the messages from the nodes and place them into an Arrival queue. Each node will have its own Arrival queue, and no nodes can have two messages on the bus at the same time. The messages will be sorted in the queues in the order of the time needed to be released onto the bus. There will be an internal clock that will monitor the time for when the messages are needed to be placed onto the bus. If there is a situation where two messages need to be sent at the same time, the arbitrator will determine the priority of the messages to be placed onto the bus. Once the message is on the bus, it will go to a transfer queue. Periodically, there will be an error signal sent with the message that will be detected by the error detection, and it will be required that the message to be retransmitted. At critical points on the simulation, statistical information will be gathered for an analyzation. Some examples of information to be analyzed are 1) verification of the simulation performance on a single node with a single message, 2) network load which is a rate of a utilized bus time to the total bus time, 3) network throughput which is a total number of messages that are transmitted per second, and 4) average response time which will be the average time taken by all messages to gain bus access.PLATFORM DESCRIPTIONThe computer to be used in this project will be an Intel Pentum 100 with 16 megs RAM, two 853 megabyte harddrive, and a 17 inch super VGA monitor. The user interface will be windows 3.1 application. The compiling language to be used will be Microsoft Visual C++.

Kommunikation är alltså en mänsklig handling, något som vi gör och information är det vi utbyter genom att kommunicera med varandra. Information är något som finns överallt idag och berör oss alla på olika sätt och vis. Den har olika påverkan på oss alla och vi tolkar det olika.

Genom dokumenthantering kan man effektivisera processer, rutiner och arbetsflöden, samtidigt som man ökar omfattningen och effektiviteten för företagsinformationen.

En undersökning är en form av primär data där man samlar ihop data från antingen en hel grupp eller en del av en grupp. Det finns en del olika sätt att utföra en undersökning, via till exempel telefon eller elektronisk. Vi valde att skicka ut en undersökning elektronisk som vår målgrupp fick fylla i.

Undersökningen, även kallad effektivitetstest, är kvalitativ vilket syftar till att svaren skall ha en djupare dimension än bara siffror.

Efter att ha fått klart för oss över de problem som fanns har vi även tittat på olika funktioner som kan lösa dessa problem. De flesta av funktionerna fanns i SharePoint (Server och Services). Som stöd kan man även använda funktioner i OneNote och InfoPath.

Rapporten behandlar utvecklingen av en portal som är tänkt att användas av alla olika delar av en företagskoncern, både som intranät, extranät och extern webbplats. Denna rapport undersöker vad som är viktigt att uppfylla för att skapa en portal av detta slag där kraven på flexibilitet är stora, samtidigt som de olika företagen i koncernen ska ha utrymme att agera både som enskilda företag och som medlemmar i en koncern. Rapporten undersöker även om tekniken SharePoint kan vara lämplig att använda i ett sådant fall samt tar upp alternativ till SharePoint. Slutsatserna är att två aspekter är särskilt viktiga i en portal av slaget som efterfrågas. Dels att portalen utformas med en tydlig struktur och väl definierade nivåer med klara uppgifter, dels att tekniken bakom portalen är anpassningsbar, öppen för vidareutvecklingar och att tekniken är modulbaserad. With the rapid development of wireless technologies, traditional mobile devices, such as pagers and cellular phones, have evolved from a purely communications and messaging-oriented medium to one that supports mobile data communication in general and acts as an application platform. As shown in a recent survey conducted by MDA, easy access to the present-day wireless Internet has resulted in mobile devices gaining more and more attention and popularity. The growth of and demand for mobile Web applications is expected to increase rapidly in the near future, as a range of software companies and mobile device manufacturers release increasingly accessible tools for creating mobile Web application and services. From a variety of possible development environments of this kind, the author has selected and examined two leading contenders, the J2ME and the Microsoft .NET mobile Web application development environments. This document reports the product life cycle of pilot mobile web applications, designed and implemented in each host environment in tum. A feature-by-feature investigation and comparison of the J2ME and .NET environments was carried out, covering the range of issues necessary for a complete mobile Web application development life cycle. The resulting analysis addresses features and efficiencies of the application development environment and the target deployment environment, the degree to which the resultant services are compatible on a variety of platforms, and the ease with which applications can be designed to be extensible. The thesis offers an objective evaluation of the J2ME and the .NET mobile development environments, which highlights their strengths and weaknesses, and suggests guidelines for designing, creating, and deploying high quality mobile Web applications. The research uncovers no clear winner across all categories assessed. J2ME currently favours situations in which bandwidth is limited and client side processing power is relatively sufficient, it exerts the processing power of mobile devices over distributed network environments. .NET requires a less constrained network throughput, but performs adequately on clients with more limited processing power, supports a more diverse target platform range, and offers a more efficient, in terms of development time, development environment. Both technologies are likely to receive significant user support for some time.

Denna uppsats behandlar en undersökning som gjordes efter det att en gymnasieskola i Örebro migrerat från Microsoft Office till Open Office. I studien undersöktes vilka för och nackdelar som lärare upplevde efter migrationen samt vilka problem som uppstod då öppen mjukvara används i en miljö som är dominerad av proprietär mjukvara.

Det tillvägagångssätt vi valt är en metodtriangulering där vi samlat in data med hjälp av tre olika insamlingsmetoder, en litteraturstudie, kvalitativa intervjuer och en kvantitativ enkät. Dessa insamlingsmetoder utformades så att litteraturstudien var av bredare karaktär och leder till att intervjuerna blir av mer specifik karaktär som i sin tur ger oss kvantitativa frågor till enkäten.

Det vi funnit under arbetets gång är att migrationen lett till interoperabilitetsproblem med existerande proprietära system och även att filer tolkats olika av de båda kontorspaketen. Lärarna såg större skillnader mellan de båda kontorspaketen är vad skolan och kommunen förutsett och tyckte att de mer avancerade funktionerna är svårare att använda i Open Office vi har även sett en efterfrågan utbildning.

AbstractBounded Model Checking (BMC) is a popularly used strategy for program verification and it has been explored extensively over the past decade. Despite such a long history, BMC still faces scalability challenges as programs continue to grow larger and more complex. One approach that has proven to be effective in verifying large programs is called Counterexample Guided Abstraction Refinement (CEGAR). In this work, we propose a complementary approach to CEGAR for bounded model checking of sequential programs: in contrast to CEGAR, our algorithm gradually widens underapproximations of a program, guided by the proofs of unsatisfiability. We implemented our ideas in a tool called Legion. We compare the performance of Legion against that of Corral, a state-of-the-art verifier from Microsoft, that utilizes the CEGAR strategy. We conduct our experiments on 727 Windows and Linux device driver benchmarks. We find that Legion is able to solve 12% more instances than Corral and that Legion exhibits a complementary behavior to that of Corral. Motivated by this, we also build a portfolio verifier, $$\textsc {Legion}^{+}$$ L E G I O N + , that attempts to draw the best of Legion and Corral. Our portfolio, $$\textsc {Legion}^{+}$$ L E G I O N + , solves 15% more benchmarks than Corral with similar computational resource constraints (i.e. each verifier in the portfolio is run with a time budget that is half of the time budget of Corral). Moreover, it is found to be $$2.9\times $$ 2.9 × faster than Corral on benchmarks that are solved by both Corral and $$\textsc {Legion}^{+}$$ L E G I O N + .

AbstractWhen a public sector organisation (PSO) uses a software as a service (SaaS) solution from a global provider this imposes risks for different types of lock-in effects. In turn, use of such solutions by PSOs may prevent full control of digital assets that need to be created, processed, maintained, and archived for use and reuse over long life-cycles. This paper addresses perceived and actual lock-in effects related to use of SaaS solutions in the public sector. We review perceptions of lock-in amongst government agencies and investigate how 46 PSOs have addressed challenges related to obtaining licences and an effective exit plan related to use of the Microsoft Office 365 SaaS solution. Through a review of responses to a survey conducted by the Swedish Government Offices we find significant misconceptions concerning lock-in effects. We find that every one of the 46 PSOs investigated neither obtained necessary licences nor established an effective exit strategy to allow the PSO to independently access, process and maintain digital assets processed by the SaaS solution after decommissioning. We present recommendations for any PSO considering use of a SaaS solution.

The authors traced the process of revising and updating a long-existing Micro-Based Software class at the undergraduate level at Metropolitan State College of Denver. The course was designed to allow students to become proficient in end user computing at the operational business level. The revisions were prompted by the increasing sophistication of horizontal microcomputer application programs, the increase in the level of computer literacy among undergraduate School of Business students, and the students’ need for experience in problem solving and applying the theory they learned using the Microsoft Office software suite. A pilot class was taught utilizing the revised curriculum in the Fall of 2001. The revised curriculum involved using Web-based material and regular presentation sessions for solutions to assigned problems. An efficacy survey was administered at the end of the class, to determine student satisfaction with the revised curriculum. The success of the pilot class resulted in implementing the revised content in all sections of the Micro-Based Software class as of Spring semester, 2002.

It’s the age-old computer question, approached with the same intensity as politics and sports: which operating system (OS for short) is right for you? But ask yourself a more fundamental question first: what will you use your computer for? Is it casual word processing and e-mail? The Great American Novel? Number crunching? The Internet? Recreational gaming? Video editing? Graphic design? The point is this: how you use your computer determines what software you need, and the availability of that software for a given operating system in turn guides your choice of OS. But remember, an operating system is linked to a specific kind of computer. For the home buyer, that means, essentially, a choice between a Mac and a PC. And your comfort level, as you try out different user interfaces, will ultimately have a profound effect on your choice of computer and operating system. Broadly, there are three popular OS families currently available: Windows, Macintosh OS’s, and countless flavors of Linux. Windows—If we include versions from Win 95 on, Microsoft Windows has the largest present and potential market share— so much so that many third-party software companies simply cannot afford to develop programs for any other OS. This alone is reason enough for many people to choose it. But others point out that just because 100 million cows eat grass, that doesn’t mean that they should eat it too. For those dissident cows among us, there are indeed some conspicuous cons to consider: Windows (particularly in its older incarnations—95 through ME) is notorious for its frequent crashes as well as its dangerous security holes, with Microsoft having to release dozens of security patches annually. And nearly all of those nasty computer viruses, trojans, and worms that you hear about are written to exploit its weaknesses. In addition, a Windows PC generally requires more technical support over its lifetime than an Apple Macintosh. On the other hand, there are pros to balance the cons. Recent versions of the OS (2000, XP, and beyond) are much more reliable, Microsoft promises updates and long-term support, and—more important—Windows systems are compatible with the largest variety of the latest software applications (from office suites, reference works, and utilities to vast quantities of games) as well as with the newest peripherals.

Most thermal engineers will model and analyze thermal engineering cases, using any of the numerous thermal analysis software, available in the market. These commercial software need years of continuous use to be fully mastered. Large companies can afford to acquire expensive software available in the market and train their engineers; but small companies do not have the financial means to acquire such expensive software. Thus for modeling and analysis, small companies or private practice need a different alternative. Excel is one of the programs that come with Microsoft Office suite of software, which is installed on any purchased computer. Most users of Microsoft office are proficient in using Word, and can use Excel as a spread sheet to speed up calculations. Technical personnel can easily use the charting capability of Excel, but very few engineers can use Excel for intensive Numerical Analysis. Engineers should be able to use the available inexpensive Excel software to perform numerical analysis at their work place. In this article three Heat Transfer Numerical cases using Microsoft Excel are discussed in detail. the first case is two dimensional steady state heat transfer with different isothermal boundary conditions. The second shows other boundary conditions: uniform heat flux, adiabatic, and convection. The third case is transient conditions. The results from the three cases are compared with results from Patran Thermal software.

iSIGHT-FD manages the computer software required to execute simulation-based design processes, including commercial CAD/CAE software, internally developed programs, and Excel spreadsheets. The software enables the rapid integration of these programs and automates their execution to accelerate the evaluation of many more design alternatives. It provides design exploration and optimization technology to help the user find better designs than those that can be found manually. Inside of this framework, a set of interoperable CAD and CAE components is used to define how changes in the geometry affect the product performance. In the past year Engineous worked with several of its partners to create a seamless and automated process. We will illustrate how to setup and drive geometric changes in CAD models using the translation technologies component in iSIGHT-FD. The user can set loads & boundary conditions on the part/assembly that move with the geometric modifications. The changed geometry with loads & boundary conditions can be automatically meshed and analyzed with FEM solvers and pre/postprocessors. The user is allowed to store and view parametric and non-parametric results for every run. These 3D CAE & CAD results can then be easily embedded into Microsoft office.

During Covid-19 pandemic ICT industry grew rapidly. This situation led to some positive aspects for teaching. Such technologies as virtual conference and classroom software made distant learning more possible than ever before. Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art of University of Latvia started further education courses in ICT for in-service teachers in June 2022. There were 3 pilot groups with 54 participants in total. A new program was developed according to the new curriculum of ICT subject in schools. Using the previously collected experience of distant teaching during Covid-19 pandemic, it was decided to use Microsoft Teams, Moodle and open source software to provide courses. Courses consisted of practical usage and teaching methodology of office, programming, media, computer graphics and web site development. The purpose of this research was to find out the effectiveness of distant learning using the hands-on approach. The analysis of literature presented expectations of good results for adult teaching in subjects not demanding special equipment or laboratories. It was found that it was economy of resources such as time, money and special classrooms. The target group was in-service teachers with pedagogical experience, learning to become teachers of ICT. Both sides: teachers and participants were warned to use the computer with at least 2 screens and a good quality internet connection. Teaching materials and assessments were placed in the Moodle system. Practices and trainings were recorded for later usage and study. Results of participants’ questionnaire showed that courses were highly rated. In addition, results of final report assessment were highly rated by teachers. As conclusion, it revealed that distant teaching for adults in the ICT field using hands-on approach has a high value from the viewpoint of participants and teachers and it is useful to provide next courses using the approach described in this research.

The development of information technologies in Russia makes it possible to organize, preserve, systematize and collect large amounts of data into electronic databases for various purposes. Based on the analysis of a large volume of field research, the authors have developed an MS Access database for plants of the Fabaceae family of the Belgorod region. The Microsoft Office software package includes the Microsoft Access program (MS Access), designed to create databases, store, process and quickly access the necessary information. The review of methodological approaches used to create a database of species and genera of the legume family (Fabaceae), common in the flora of the Belgorod region, is given. The developed database makes it easier to find valuable source forms for the selection of legumes resistant to biotic and abiotic environmental factors.

RoboBraille is a complex program, specifically designed for dislexo-dysgraphic people, for those with serious visual impairments and for blind people, developed by the National Centre for Children and Youth with Visual Impairments from Denmark in collaboration with Sensus ApS. The program is presented as an e-mail and web-based service and aims to achieve the automatic transformation of documents in a variety of alternative electronic formats which come to support people with reading and writing difficulties and those with visual impairments. Romania has been participating in the project destined to promote this service since 2012. This research aims to train 30 blind children from the Special Secondary School for the Visually Impaired in Bucharest, students and teachers with a serious visually impairment and blind people to use RoboBraille and to observe the degree of satisfaction after using this program for extracurricular activities for three months. As a research method we used a satisfaction questionnaire containing a total of 10 questions with five possible answers and three open questions. We considered that the use of RoboBraille by this people is important because it proposes a variety of services: Braille services (transcription of documents in and from Braille), audio services (conversion into MP3 files and Daisy), e-book services (in which documents can be converted both in EPUB and Mobi Pocket, e-book formats), accessibility services (conversion of inaccessible documents, as image files and all types of PDF files in accessible formats and conversion of Microsoft Office documents into PDF and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations files into RTF and web projects. What is important to note, is that the program allows the processing in Romanian language, both in terms of the written files and of the audio files.
