Integration has always been an important and tricky task for IT-businesses. There are several products available for solving integration issues, one of them is the long developed platform BizTalk from Microsoft. As cloud computing has grown in recent years, Microsoft has been putting more focus towards the cloud. With their cloud, named Azure, expanding a new integration platform have been released, the iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service) Logic Apps. This report aims to evaluate the integration platforms Logic Apps and BizTalk with the purpose of finding out if the new Logic Apps can replace the long developed BizTalk. The evaluation is performed by implementing an application in both platforms, then evaluating selected parameters by giving each a score to concretize our assessment on quantify whether Logic Apps can replace BizTalk.

Windows Azure Platform is product of the Microsoft company aimed to host web applications. With this product, Microsoft is reacting on the new trend in IT -- cloud computing. This diploma thesis deals with all the aspects of developing and running PHP applications on Windows Azure Platform. Thesis is divided into two parts -- theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, Windows Azure Platform is described in detail. The description consists of it's main parts, position in the world of cloud computing, price and main competitors. In the practical part, migration of school PHP application developed during 4IT445 course from LAMP platform to Windows Azure Platform is described. Except the migration itself, the benefits of new platform to application are described. In the thesis conclusion, development and running applications on both platforms is compared. The target of the thesis is to write first complete Czech text about running PHP applications on Windows Azure Platform and to help PHP developers to chose which way to go.

A common challenge for software consulting companies is recruiting the right people. In the software industry, the recruitment process usually involves several steps before a contract is signed; a single job interviewis rarely enough. Thus, the interview tends to involve some test to make sure that the job applicant is qualified. The testing procedure is usually part of the interview or conducted at the same occasion. Interviewing applicants who are not qualified for the position is a waste of time. This waste can be minimized by only interviewing qualified applicants. In the software industry, qualifications are commonly asserted by letting an applicant solve programming problems. This process can be automated using an Automatic Grader. Such systems already exist on some universities today and are used extensively invarious programming courses and also in programming contests.This thesis explains how such a system can be built using only Microsoft.NET Framework while still supporting multiple languages. The thesis also evaluates this system with regard to execution speed and memory consumption in an attempt to find a scaling factor between the different programming languages since the same implementation of a specific algorithm in different languages should be graded equally. The supported languages are C#, Java and Python. Java support is enabled through the use of a Java byte code to Common Intermediate Language(.NET bytecode) compiler called IKVM. Python is supported through the use of Iron Python.The results showed that C# and Java performed almost equally interms of execution speed and memory usage, with Java being slightly behind. As a compensation for Javas slower execution speed a scaling factor was calculated. The average of this scaling factor was 1.29.Python had greater performance and memory issues than the other twoand no scaling factor could be obtained for this language using the data present in this thesis. Future work involves implementing additional language support and improving the system with usability in mind.

Cyber-attack simulation is a suitable method used for assessing the security ofnetwork systems. An attack simulation advances step-wise from a certain systementry-point to explore the attack paths that lead to dierent weaknesses inthe model. Each step is analyzed, and the time to compromise is calculated.Attack simulations are primarily based on attack graphs. The graphs areemployed to model attack steps where nodes can represent assets in the system,and edges can represent the attack steps. To reduce the computational cost associatedwith building an attack graph for each specic system, domain-specicattack languages, or DSL for short, are used.The nal product of this thesis work is azureLang, a probabilistic modelingand simulation language for modeling Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.AzureLang is a DSL which denes a generic attack logic for MicrosoftAzure systems. Using azureLang, system administrators can easily instantiatespecic-system scenarios which emulate their Microsoft Azure cloud system infrastructure.After creating the model, attack simulation can be run to assessthe security of the model.Cyberattacksimulering är en lämplig metod som används för att bedöma säkerhetenhos nätverkssystem. En angrepsimulering går stegvis från ett visst systeminmatningspunkt för att utforska angreppsbanorna som leder till olika svagheter i modellen. Varje steg analyseras och tiden för kompromettera beräknas.Attack-simuleringar baseras huvudsakligen på attackgrafer. Graferna används för att modellera angreppssteg där noder kan representera tillgångar i systemet, och kanterna kan representera attackenstegen. För att minska kostnaden för att skapa attackgrafer för varje specifikt system används domänspecifika språk eller DSL förkortat.Den slutliga produkten av detta examensarbete är azureLang, ett probabilistisk hotmodelleringsoch attacksimuleringsspråk för analys av Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure. AzureLang är en DSL som definierar en generisk attacklogik för Microsoft Azure-system. Med hjälp av azureLang kan systemadministratörer enkelt ordna specifika systemscenarier som efterliknar deras Microsoft Azure cloudsystem infrastruktur. Efter att ha skapat modellen kan attack simu-lering köras för att bedöma modellens säkerhet.

This thesis deals with the analysis and design of business intelligence solution for the needs of reporting for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 platform. Solution includes development guidelines for possible development in future. In the first part of the thesis there is introduced ERP system MS Dynamics AX 2012 which serves as a data source for reports. The following sections analyze the data sources and the need for enterprise reporting. Significant part of thesis is the analysis and design of individual basic dimensions and indicators together with the proposal of data flows and architecture solution. In chapters 6-9 are described best practices for creating data warehouse through all the layers of development. In chapter 10 are unified guidelines for the development of different parts of solution such as dimensional OLAP cubes for case of additional customer requirements.

This qualitative study is of the interpretivist nature and it aims to examine how knowledge workers perceive their interaction with a knowledge management system when used for knowledge sharing purposes. The purpose is to offer answers to two research questions: How do knowledge workers perceive their interaction with knowledge management technology in relation to knowledge sharing? What are the benefits and challenges that knowledge workers experience in relation to knowledge managing and sharing when using a KMS system? The data was collected by applying qualitative research methods and by conducting five interviews with participants of an IT organization that has its head office in Sweden, but additional offices in other geographical locations. To be able to study the participants´ perception and the benefits of the use on both local and international levels, the interviewees were chosen from different sites in which their organization was operating. To provide the answers to these questions and to establish the foundation of this research, an extensive literature review on the problem area was carried out, and a theoretical framework has been employed to study the different aspects of this model in the context of knowledge management systems in relation to knowledge sharing among knowledge workers. As a result, additional derived attributes came from the findings and it is shown that users tend to relate knowledge quality with the completeness, frequency of update, and validity of the knowledge content that they are exposed to in the KMS. Similarly, they relate KMS quality to administrability and maintenance easiness, whereas organizational service providing quality in relation to knowledge sharing is more related to the aspects of organizational commitment and reliability. Moreover, the findings show that participants relate their intention to use the KMS to the attributes of convenience and practicality, and the levels of user satisfaction were in this case mainly related to the user´s perception of usefulness. Lastly, the perception of the benefits and reciprocal value-creating for both the organization and the individual was examined and the findings show that the users tend to relate these to the aspect of relevance, or in other words that the benefits are only perceived as useful by the user if they are identifiable, respectively the user being aware of the benefits and perceiving them as relevant.

Cloud computing has been given a great deal of attention during recent years. Almost all the technology market leaders and leading hosting service providers (like IBM, Microsoft and Verizon) have entered into the Cloud market as Cloud Providers. Cloud computing promises to provide highly available, secure, low cost, agile and highly scalable solution to the consumers. Scania is a global company and one of the world’s leading heavy vehicle manufacturers with 35,000+ employees. All the large organizations such as Scania, aim to constantly update themselves with the latest technology in order to meet their business requirements but, these organizations must always be convinced that there is a strong reason(s) to implement new technology. This research provides the method and criteria in relation to initiating Cloud computing. A number of Scania’s specific business requirements that it is possible to map to the Cloud are addressed in this thesis. The methodology of research is split in two parts. Firstly, the identification of business cases at Scania and their requirements with the Cloud and Secondly, the evaluation and comparison of the functionalities and capabilities of different vendors. The accumulated data is then compared and suitable vendors, according to those business requirements are suggested. This thesis also shares the experience of moving on premise applications to the Cloud. These are Scania specific applications which are currently being hosted in-house. The research also addresses the possibilities of portability between the Cloud providers. Although there is no standardization in relation to Cloud computing, some initiatives such as OpenStack are available and its current position and some application and data migration tools are also discussed. The thesis concludes with a general discussion, recommendations in relation to adapting Cloud computing and selecting the Cloud provider. This recommendation applies to every organization including Scania.

Background Using Microsoft Platforms as a base for creating a software solution with a web front-end, the motives and research behind the technology was explored. This study identified functionalities that are split across existing media-related applications where neither has all to develop and evaluate a novel solution with useful features for sorting and indexing media. Aim Produce a solution for the development of an application with available technology, provide research and motives for chosen implementation strategies, and an evaluation of the solution. Method Design and creation was used as a strategy for the purpose of developing and evaluating a software solution. A literature review was used as data collection method, serving as motive and research behind the development of a software solution. An evaluation on accessibility, functionality and performance was chosen to estimate the worth of the proposed solution, and to be compared with Kodi and Squeezebox. Results The proposed solution suffered in performance and accessibility. In terms of functionality, it has the edge by being cloud-hosted,having offline support and supporting multiple media types. Kodi excelled in supporting more media types and formats, with an accessibility score close to Zavorite. Squeezebox excelled in performance. Both Squeezebox and Kodi has the edge in being able to playback media, a feature Zavorite does not offer. Conclusions Zavorite is a prototype evaluated alongside product-ready applications. The areas where Zavorite is lacking compared to Kodi or Squeezebox, such as performance is made up for due to being a PWA. For accessibility, the evaluation showed what should be improved for subsequent prototypes. For functionality, despite the prototype only showcasing two media types, there is the possibility of adding more with an additional row in a database table. Zavorite can be considered a combination of Kodi and Squeezebox, with user experience improvements as a PWA, limited to sorting and indexing media.

This thesis is focused on research of available resources about applicable methods and approaches of implementation of Business Intelligence in sales department of mid-size local company focused on information technologies. The solution is aimed on controlling and performance measurement. Local specifics and company culture of innovation and creativeness are considered during the whole work. The next part of the work is analysis of the company environment and appropriable process of implementation matching current maturity level of company. The goal is to define appropriable set of indicators for performance measurement of sales representatives in order to reflect the reality and allow the relative comparison of individuals. This solution is applied in specific company and as a result there are identified issues of this proposal and suggested recommendations for the future modifications. The work is based on research of available resources and identification of the best practices methods of design and implementation of this system. The next part contains detail analysis of the company, application of conclusion of the theoretical part and suggestion for optimal process of successful adaptation. As a result the structure of metrics has been built and it was verified that the detail analysis is required for relevant definition of the scope of the project, identification of risks and preparing the real schedule. It has been verified, that implementation of performance measurement system requires complex changes in company culture and close coordination to other triggered changes in workflow and quality of recorded data in information systems.

Tidigare forskning har påvisat brister i olika former av autentiseringsprocesser som leder till autentiseringsattacker. Målet med vår studie är att presentera ett antal riktlinjer som företag och privatpersoner kan följa för att minimera risken för autentiseringsattacker. Metoderna som användes för att komma fram till dessa riktlinjer var kvalitativa där en praktisk observationsstudie, en litteraturstudie samt en enkätundersökning låg till grund för vår insamlade data. Resultatet av studien pekar på att Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services och Microsoft Azure alla har en stark autentiseringsprocess i jämförelse med kritik från tidigare forskning. Enkätundersökningen visade dessutom att olika former av alternativ autentisering, såsom Two Factor Authentication (2FA) och Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), rekommenderas för ett starkt försvar mot autentiseringsattacker.Uppsatsens resultat pekar även på att användarens egenansvar i autentiseringsprocessen är av stor vikt för att minimera risken för autentiseringsattacker. Säkra lösenord bör konstrueras och frekvent bytas ut. Även alternativ autentisering och begränsning av användarens tillgång till känslig information bör tillämpas.Previous research has shown deficiencies in various forms of authentication processes that lead to authentication attacks. The goal of our study is to present a number of guidelines that businesses and individuals can follow to minimize the risk of authentication attacks. The methods used to reach these guidelines were qualitative. They consisted of a practical observational study, a literature review and a survey, which formed the basis of our collected data. The results of the study indicate that Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure all have a strong authentication process in comparison with the criticism of previous research. The survey also showed that different forms of authentication methods, such as the Two Factor Authentication (2FA) and Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), are recommended for a strong defense against authentication attacks.The thesis’ results also points to the user’s own responsibility in the authentication process are essential to minimize the risk of authentication attacks. Secure passwords should be designed and frequently replaced. Alternative authentication and restricted access to sensitive information for the user should also be applied.

As mobile devices become more common when surfing the web there is an increasing demand of making web sites adjusted to other devices than computers. One common platform on the web is Microsoft SharePoint. In this report I look into one method of how to develop web sites that work on multiple devices in Microsoft SharePoint. I will be looking into different techniques as separate web sites compared to responsive web design. By exploring the approach of mobile first I try to find a working solution of techniques. I also look into another method that is suggested in a book and look into how Bootstrap could be used in the process. I will also look into content to identify what content need to be adjusted between different devices. I find that navigation is an important part of a web site and look into different methods of handling navigation on mobile devices. By analyzing different techniques and looking into what content is going to be adjusted a solution is proposed where the navigation is adjusted in a responsive design. The design is converted into a SharePoint masterpage and then fixed using stylesheets and JavaScript. The solution works on a web site with a complex site structure since it focuses on how to adjust the navigation.

It discusses the use of LaTeX and the Beamer class for presentations, programmatic creation of PowerPoint documents using PowerPoint Primary Interop Assemblies and PresentationML. It outlines the use of the scanners and parsers generators GPLEX and GPPG respectively. It deals with the characteristics of today's tools for document conversion. And finally deals with the particular pitfalls of the design, implementation and testing of the application for conversion of documents between LaTeX platform and Microsoft PowerPoint.

The master thesis deals with system integration in the company DATART International a.s. focusing on analysis of current information system and descriptions of the integration of applications. The first part is theoretical and the main attention is paid to definition of system integration and related subjects. Explanation of these terms is essential for understanding subsequent chapters. The following section is devoted to analyzing and mapping of current technical solution of company's integration of applications. The last part comprises of designed proposal of company's new possible IS/ICT architecture with its main technical elements and their functionality. Moreover, the portfolio of projects which are necessary for implementation of the proposed solution is designed in this part. The main goal of this work is to map and assess the current situation in the DATART company. Sub-goal is to design a new architecture IS/ICT and to design company portfolio of projects related to proposed architecture of IS/ICT in company DATART International a.s. These goals were fulfilled through deep analysis of the company's environment. This analysis was performed in the cooperation with colleagues, experts from related branches and thanks to high-quality literature and information sources used. The contribution of this work consists of mapping of possible solutions of system integration in DATART and their evaluation. Another benefit is the proposal of new architecture of IS/ICT.

At first there is introduction to issues of Business Intelligence following description of visualization resources of Microsoft platform, specifically Excel, Power View, Power Map and Reporting. Subsequently open source software was chosen that is able to compete with visualization products of Microsoft platform specifically CDE Dashboard from Pentaho platform. There are compared chosen products via proposed scenario and evaluated standards. Finally there are evaluated suitability of individual software for data visualization.

This thesis treats of the development of mobile applications for Windows Mobile platform. It contains a list of other mobile platforms (mobile operating systems) and a comparative table according to selected categories, so that readers can get an idea of other platforms. Part of this thesis is an overview of technologies for development, which is supported by the comparative table. The main objective is to propose a methodology of mobile application development for platform Windows Mobile. To clarify the most important specifics serves the separate chapters describing these specifics. It is about the design of user interface for mobile applications, where attention is placed on the method of operating, because for each method of operating should be a different user interface design. Another specific feature, which is discussed in my thesis, is testing applications in Microsoft Device Emulator V3, this precedes the description of this tool for testing and the possibilities of its settings. To demonstrate the methodology the thesis contains the practical example illustrating the gradual steps corresponding to the phases of the methodology and execution of activities. In the annex are tables describing the various phases of the methodology, a description of their objectives, roles and them associated activities and what are the inputs and outputs of this phase.

Their main product CRM Finance is a software program for financial administrators with roots back to the early 90s. Computer usage and software has changed considerably since then and the company is currently considering choosing a new technology to base future products upon. In this thesis Oracle ADF, Microsoft Lightswitch beta 1 and Silverlight with WCF RIA Services, are compared in order to select a suitable technology to base future applications on. The frameworks are used to implement a simple application with a small number of screens displaying database data in order to get to know the frameworks and capture the time required to get started. After the basic applications have been implemented in all the three frameworks and evaluated it is decided to continue by implementing a number of more advanced authorization and internationalization scenarios. It is decided to continue with only two of the selected frameworks due to lack of time once the simple application has been implemented successfully. Lightswitch beta 1 is chosen for discontinuation due to an uncertain future for the application as it is the first public available beta of the product. Based on the experience from the implementations performed, the time required for them as well as how the platforms fit the company’s requirements the .NET platform with Silverlight + WCF RIA Services is recommended as the base for future applications.

This diploma thesis deals with an analysis of SAP Business Intelligence platform (SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0) and compares its chosen tools with Microsoft SQL Server BI. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate SAP BI system in a comprehensive way whereas extra attention is paid to certain areas, such as a data warehouse. One of the goals is the comparison of approaches and methods of the creation of the data warehouse with MS SQL Server BI solution. The thesis consists of theoretical insight into Business Intelligence, which is focused on the architecture of data warehouse, and OLAP technologies. There is an evaluation of the role of SAP in the BI market followed by the introduction of SAP NetWeaver, an application and integration platform. Included is also an analysis of the architecture of data warehouse, methods of storing data, ETL process and other chosen functions and tools (including presentation tools) in next sections. A sample application in the final part provides the reader with better understanding of different ETL approaches, which are analyzed into detail and evaluated. There is the comparison of OLAP technologies in the end and the comparison of basic reporting tools, as well.

Thesis was elaborated with Clever Decision s.r.o. company which significantly contributed to thesis assignment. Main goal of this thesis is to provide a solution concept for absence of alerting for multidimensional data in Microsoft's product. Alerting is aimed at critical business data -- Key performance indicators - KPIs. KPIs are used to deliver enhanced business performance through Corporate Performance Management concept. These indicators need to be watched frequently. Considering that alerting solution is convenient for watching the data. Solution concept is based on market research of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms which dominates the market. Platforms are examined for their alerting capabilities. Next goal is to provide overall insight to KPI management -- creating, managing, analyzing and monitoring of KPIs. Thesis is divided into three sections. First part creates theoretical background for solution creation and describes the field of KPI management. Second part consists of market research using selected criteria. Third part is aimed at providing the solution concept through web application fixing the absence of alerting on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. This thesis is primarily intended for Clever Decision company but also for various BI experts dealing with alerting problems on BI platforms. Thesis serves also as a theoretical summary of KPI management which is commonly evaded by available technical literature.

This research paper studies the extent of how microinteractions are utilized in Microsoft Teams and the impact that they have on workflow efficiencies, specifically in the creative industry. In a novel time where Covid-19 virus has increased the demand of digital platforms, the importance of research within remote meeting utilization, and the interaction possibilities within, is of utter importance. Also, since we are missing out on the spontaneous interactions that occur when meeting face-to-face, the microinteractions within digital meeting platforms now carry a heavier weight when interactions are solely occuring remotely. The data collection was achieved through a qualitative approach consisting of participant observations and semi-structured interviews. The results of this research proved that microinteractions are used frequently within digital meetings in Microsoft Teams, but in different contexts and in different constellations. The results also identified that microinteractions, which hold the right conditions, can streamline workflows in certain scenarios. This study concluded in interesting data that answered the research questions but also opened up for further research due to the topic being of a novel field and in a special time, in this case referring to the pandemic and Covid-19.

In this thesis, a standard platform design for robotics applications is presented, which has a simple rugged structure, inexpensive cost, and the ability to support Microsoft Robotics Studio (MSRS). The BASIC Stamp controller is used to control the robot platform so that its head, mouth, legs, and arms can be moved. In addition, the proposed robot platform can link Bluetooth device and sensors to achieve the remote control and autonomous actions. This thesis also presents the operation methods of MSRS interface. The developed standard robot platform can be applied to learning and studying robot technologies, because of its simple mechanism, inexpensive outlay, easy understanding and convenient control. By using MSRS system, this standardized robot platform can be regarded as the foundation of development robotics in the future. Graphic user interface has become the mainstream of today’s web-based systems. The object oriented technique and the diagrams from the Unified Modeling Language (UML) are becoming the major tools for modeling the platform independent model (PIM) of a web-based system. Once the PIM is constructed, the results can then be transformed into its platform specific model and template code based on the model driven architecture (MDA) approach. However, the detailed guideline for the transformation from PIM to the Microsoft .Net platform is lacking. Therefore, this study presents a methodology which provides guidelines for the transformation from PIM to Microsoft .Net platform for a web-based system. The research methodology is articulated using the design science research methodology. A usability evaluation with a real-world web-based system case is performed to demonstrate its applicability. The results indicated that with this proposed method, the system developer can effectively transform the PIM of a web-based system into its Microsoft .Net platform and template code.

Automation and digitalization of processes, coming up with new ways to connect with employees and customers, or investing in a robust infrastructure that can respond and extract insights from the ever-increasing amount of data that is being produced across all sectors of the enterprise: these are all topics that any company needs to have as a top priority if they want to keep up with their competitors and stay relevant in their own markets. The present document describes the activities carried out during a period of 10 months (September 2019 – June 2020, correspondent to the fiscal year of 2020) at Microsoft’s Corporation Portuguese Subsidiary, working as a full-time Technical Specialist. The technical specialist first received extensive technical and commercial training from a vast variety of resources (online resources, one-to-one shadowing, and on-site technical readiness) and after the ramp-up process, he proceeded to drive the business for Microsoft Portugal by conducting customer and partner meetings, and to play his part in the sales motion by providing deep technical expertise and compelling technology demonstrations. The technical specialist oversaw a unified set of Microsoft technologies, called the Power Platform, that bundle together a set of tools such as Power BI for data analysis and visualization, Power Apps for line-of-business application development, Power Automate for workflow automation and RPA capabilities and Power Virtual Agents as an engine for creating and deploying intelligent chatbots. All these components are further enriched and integrated with the Office 365 and Dynamics 365 ecosystems, hundreds of data connectors, advanced database capabilities, artificial intelligence and machine learning models, and the extensibility from the resources available on the Azure Cloud.

Mainly the lack of integration between enterprises of the role, so that services through standard interfaces Goutong, for service in the life-cycle management, and will corporate policy objectives and information technology integration, service in the commercial activities can change in adjustment and change. The experts and scholars is that the service-oriented architecture governance (SOA Governance) SOA can reduce the risks associated with import and gradually makes the service-oriented architecture governance by the public attention, then towards the mature stage, while the service-oriented architecture governance (SOA Governance) mainly related to the establishment of the related service period, focusing on service life cycle (Life Cycle) management, service-oriented architecture governance (SOA Governance) is the organization of service-oriented architecture to achieve the critical success factors. abstract: Virtual Reality (hereafter VR) and Mixed Reality (hereafter MR) have opened a new line of applications and possibilities. Amidst a vast network of potential applications, little research has been done to provide real time collaboration capability between users of VR and MR. The idea of this thesis study is to develop and test a real time collaboration system between VR and MR. The system works similar to a Google document where two or more users can see what others are doing i.e. writing, modifying, viewing, etc. Similarly, the system developed during this study will enable users in VR and MR to collaborate in real time.
The study of developing a real-time cross-platform collaboration system between VR and MR takes into consideration a scenario in which multiple device users are connected to a multiplayer network where they are guided to perform various tasks concurrently.
Usability testing was conducted to evaluate participant perceptions of the system. Users were required to assemble a chair in alternating turns; thereafter users were required to fill a survey and give an audio interview. Results collected from the participants showed positive feedback towards using VR and MR for collaboration. However, there are several limitations with the current generation of devices that hinder mass adoption. Devices with better performance factors will lead to wider adoption.Dissertation/Thesis

Submitted in fulfillment of the requirements of the Master of Technology Degree in Information Technology, Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa, 2014.The implementation of Microsoft (MS) technologies and solutions as organisational infrastructure within the higher education arena has become a popular choice both internationally and within South Africa. With benefits such as reduced costs, improved productivity and improved service delivery to both staff and students, MS technologies and solutions seem to be the preferred choice for many institutions worldwide. The Durban University of Technology (DUT) was the first university of technology in South Africa to implement all nine MS technologies simultaneously. Since migration to the MS platform in 2009, DUT staff have raised concerns regarding the new solutions, particularly with reference to aspects such as security, accessibility, and reluctance to use self-help tools to improve their IT experience. Migrating from a non-integrated system to an integrated MS platform thus resulted in IT service delivery becoming a contentious issue. . This study discussed: the quality of IT service delivery regarding the MS infrastructure within the DUT; the types of MS technologies and solutions implemented; the resulting impact that these have had on the full time administrative and academic staff at the DUT; and their perceptions and expectations of IT service delivery. Using a mixed methods research approach and underpinned by the modified SERVQUAL framework viz. RATER, the quality of this service was investigated. This study yielded both positive and negative findings regarding expectations and perceptions of the quality of IT services. Results indicated that although staff were generally positive about the migration and satisfied with the resulting IT service delivery, there was room for improvement in terms of the quality of IT services offered by DUT’s Information Technology Support Services Department. Based on the findings, recommendations for improved IT service delivery (ITSD) and IT service management (ITSM) were proposed. It was also recommended that the framework deemed most suitable in the MS dominant IT infrastructure, is the MS Operations framework.

From ancient times to present, the learning-by-doing theory was advocated by scholars repeatedly. In this study, the learning-by-doing theory was applied to an e-learning environment. The developed e-learning environment is an exercise management platform, called PLWeb, which allows students to learn programming by practicing a lot of exercises. PLWeb can support various programming languages by providing suitable plug-in components. This study takes text-oriented programming languages and a domain-specific language - Microsoft Excel as the applied examples to discuss the system development of PLWeb and the learning effectiveness after using PLWeb in university courses. One of the main advantages of PLWeb is that it provides a visualized tool which allows instructors to see a bird’s-eye view of learning status of an entire class and to actively provide assistance to needed students. When PLWeb is used in a programming course, the program editor not only improves students learning but also allows exercise authors to apply learning strategies on designing exercises efficiently. In addition, the source code plagiarism detection tool was provided to deter students from source code plagiarism and safeguard the quality of programming learning. When PLWeb is used in a Microsoft Excel course, students are less likely to be discouraged by playing game or surfing the web and instructors can reduce their workload on exercise management. After conducting a series of experiments and surveys, the results reveal that students like PLWeb and PLWeb can improve students’ learning effectiveness.

According to the requirements to improve the quality of current simplified music score publications and the needs of the music professionals. Through the study on the style and template of music score and literature review of the related music score and software, this research developed the simplified music score software by programming. The ultimate goal of this research is to produce a simplified music score with the most economic and high efficiency tool by personal. The musical symbol font is created by FCP 6.2 and referenced by Microsoft VBA applications development tools. The simplified music score software enables users to use Microsoft Word to create and edit the simplified music score format file.The Word document files can be converted to PDF files and print high resolution of simplified music score documents. This research proved that the researchers are able to develop the simplified music score software and achieve the goal of the research. Hopefully, the researchers will develop associated software based on the simplified music score software in the future and improve the quality of the simplified music score publications in Taiwan.

This research is focusing on exporting the second generation of Taiwan’s e-Government Uniform Invoice(eGUI) on to the eInvoice Portal by Ministry of Finance combining with an ERP system. In this study, we take Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the main research object. From 2000, the Ministry of Finance of Taiwan started a new policy to promote eGUI and announced the official policy of “Trial Operation of eGUI”. Ever since then, following the high-speed development of internet, GUI has become virtual, which is more real-time, efficient, paperless, eco, and energy-saving. The research target is to build up a new function of eGUI exporting to the eInvoice Portal in Microsoft Dynamics NAV system. Users can use their own Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP system to connect eInvoice Portal directly and easily without double inputting data. The information transmitting is mutual and the users can get their feedback report to make sure all information is correct. The outcome of this research can expand Microsoft Dynamics NAV system and make it more localized. The perfect combination of the eGUI function and Microsoft Dynamics NAV brings users more convenience and provides all kinds of clients the best solution per required.

The development of Information Technology (IT) is flipping education pattern. In student-centric and social-network-booming era as today, the building of learning curriculums on clouds to enhance learning performance has been remarkable. This research focuses on the discovery of impact factors for web-based cooperative learning platforms such as SharePoint Online of Microsoft Office 365 and presents an example of Java programing course for the students in university who majors at computer science. This issue is beneficial to find out the differences of learning performance in various curriculum designs. A quasi- experiment method is employed to proceed the statistics analysis and to deeply explore the impacts of personnel, personality traits, learning style and computer anxiety on learning performance including satisfaction and achievement of learners. The findings of this research are (1)The Agreeableness of female is more obvious than that of male; (2) The personality of Conscientiousness personality is notably correlated to learning time; (3) Personality and computer anxiety are positively correlated to learning satisfaction; (4) personality is positively relate to learning achievement; (5) Learning style and computer anxiety are not related to learning satisfaction and learning achievement; (6) Agreeable personality is associated with assimilating type of learning style. In addition, there are more than 30% of investigated learners, who present the co-existence of at least two personalities in this research. The co-existence of personalities will be the next issue of learning performances in future work.
