We analyze the central economic issues raised by U.S. v Microsoft. Network effects and economies of scale in applications programs created a barrier to entry for new operating system competitors, which the combination of Netscape Navigator and the Java programming language potentially could have lowered. Microsoft took actions to eliminate this threat to its operating system monopoly, and some of Microsoft's conduct very likely harmed consumers. While we recognize the risks of the government's proposed structural remedy of splitting Microsoft in two, we are pessimistic that a limited conduct remedy would be effective in this case.

This training aims to improve the ability to use microsoft access programming for employees of the Bank Sumut Syariah business unit. This training was attended by all employees because this training is considered very important to support the performance of the employees. Currently, the Bank Sumut Syariah business unit has implemented technology based on Microsoft Access Programming in the context of carrying out all office activities. This training is carried out by means of socialization to employees, discussions, training and also direct practice of its use. The service activities for the Microsoft Access Programming Training have been carried out well. The service activity for the Microsoft Access Programming Training received an enthusiastic response from the participants of the Bank Sumut Syariah unit employees. Microsoft Access Programming training is carried out in stages and distributed in 14 meetings with a student center learning system and project based learning model so that employees can solve work problems with the skills that have been taught. Microsoft Access is a relational computer database application program that is used to design, create and process various types of data with large capacities. Database is a collection of related tables. Between tables with one another are related to each other, so it is often called a relational database. This paper shows an example of the application of the method of hierarchy analysis to build a hierarchy of programming environments, which provides support for selecting the optimal programming environment for software in accordance with the requirements of the developer and user. As a result of the application of the method of hierarchy analysis, a hierarchy of programming environments for software development was built, which will be useful for building criteria and production rules for selecting a programming environment for software. The constructed hierarchy has the following form: 1) Microsoft Visual Studio (33.1%); 2)Eclipse (19.6%); 3) PhpStorm (19.2%); 4) Netbeans (17.2%); 5) PyCharm (11%). Hierarchy analysis makes it possible to determine what is the best for software development is the Microsoft Visual Studio environment, but the price of such an environment is quite high. Computer plant simulation is being used in all aspects of engineering, through many simulation software packages. However, almost all of them require licenses that must be purchased by engineering colleges intending to use simulation in their teaching. As public educational institutions everywhere are facing a scarcity of economic resources, they can resort to a freeware steady-state plant simulator, however, there is no availability of reliable, free dynamic plant simulators. In addition, published experiences on developing dynamic simulators use programming languages requiring paid licenses (e.g. Matlab) and thus have limited relevancy to schools struggling to cut expenses. This article first uses a set of typical college objectives to discuss the advantages of building their own dynamic simulators, and then shows the development of a user-friendly dynamic simulator of a batch reactor constructed entirely within Microsoft Excel, which, in contrast to the programming languages used in related reports, is already widely used by universities around the world.

The paper analyzes the features of the use of known programming languages Java and C #, and their use in software development for server platforms and workstations. Their main advantages and disadvantages are investigated, some differences in their syntax are compared. Based on the existing dynamics of popularity, the prospects of Java and C # programming languages are shown. By comparing a simple synthetic test, their speeds were compared on the Java virtual machine version 1.8 and the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.5. As a result, recommendations for further use of Java and C # programming languages are offered.

Programming (including coding, data science, and artificial intelligence) is one of the important top skills for chemical engineering undergraduate students, especially in the current era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). Despite its importance, there is almost no dedicated course for programming in the traditional chemical engineering curriculum in many universities. In this article, a future chemical engineering curriculum that includes a programming course is discussed and its integration into traditional courses is also proposed. This study proposes to use three software i.e., Microsoft Excel, GAMS, and Python to make students comfortable to programming so they can learn further by themselves. A representative case of classic logistics problem is presented as a case study. It is expected that this teaching strategy and the proposed example will improve students’ cognition in programming.

Abstract: Inventory of goods is an important thing in a company, because inventory can support the operational needs of the company so that it runs smoothly. A good goods management process will produce accurate transaction and inventory reports. The process of managing goods at BPRS Artha Madani is currently still being carried out manually using Microsoft Excel, this results in difficulties in making reports on incoming and outgoing goods transactions and frequent discrepancies between the data in Microsoft Excel and the actual goods in the warehouse during stock taking. In addition, the process of picking up goods at the warehouse is still not structured, so it is necessary to apply a method of stock management. Therefore, in this study, the design and manufacture of web-based applications was carried out by applying the FIFO method. The FIFO method is a problem-solving method that can be applied in a way that goods that come in first are assumed to be sold or out first [1]. In building this application the author uses the extreme programming (XP) method for system development, this method consists of 4 stages, namely planning, design, coding, testing. With the development of this application, it is hoped that it can overcome problems in managing goods at BPRS Artha Madani. Keywords: extreme programming; FIFO; inventory of goods Abstrak: Persediaan barang merupakan hal yang penting pada sebuah perusahaan, karena persediaan barang dapat menunjang kebutuhan operasional pada perusahaan tersebut agar berjalan dengan lancar. Proses pengelolaan barang yang baik akan menghasilkan laporan transaksi dan stok barang yang akurat. Proses pengelolaan barang pada BPRS Artha Madani saat ini masih dilakukan secara manual dengan menggunakan Microsoft excel, hal ini mengakibatkan sulitnya membuat laporan transaksi barang masuk dan keluar serta seringnya terjadi selisih antara data pada Microsoft excel dan aktual barang di gudang saat melakukan stock opname. Selain itu proses pengambilan barang di gudang masih belum terstruktur sehingga perlu diterapkan metode pengelolaan stok barang. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan dan pembuatan aplikasi berbasis web dengan menerapkan metode FIFO. Metode FIFO adalah sebuah metode pemecahan masalah yang dapat diterapkan dengan cara barang yang pertama kali masuk diasumsikan terjual atau keluar pertama kali [1]. Medical record retention is a system that regulates the storage period for medical record files. Medical records officers are also involved in destroying medical records including in the retention process. The slow retention process resulted in a large number of medical record files piling up in storage racks so that the medical record space became narrow. Developing medical record retention applications using Microsoft Access. This research method is carried out by conducting a Literature Review with the Literature Study method. The data sources in this study were 3 journals by looking at the inclusion and exclusion categories. Analyze data in terms of similarities, inequalities, views, compare and summaries. The results of 3 literature study journals are medical record retention applications made with web-based methods and web-based imaging. The system design uses Flowmap, DFD (Data Flow Diagram) and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) and is implemented with the Microsoft Visual Basic.Net programming language and Microsoft Access as a DBMS (Database Management System). The medical record retention application is very helpful for officers in separating active and inactive medical record files, which are equipped with menus according to user needs. It is hoped that the next researchers on several related articles, further research is needed on designing applications using table data with server side processing.

Setiap perusahaan selalu menginginkan agar laba perusahaan dapat terus meningkat. Analisis daya ungkit membantu perusahaan memperoleh laba yang lebih besar dari biaya aset dan sumber dananya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh analisis daya ungkit terhadap laba per lembar saham sehingga perusahaan dapat menentukan perencanaan laba perusahaan melalui alternatif-alternatif sumber dana yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan laba per lembar saham untuk membelanjai pertambahan modal usaha perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur yang dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber dan membaca dari berbagai literatur yang dilakukan untuk mendukung pemahaman terhadap konsep-konsep yang berkaitan langsung dengan penelitian yang diperoleh. Data sekunder yang telah diperoleh kemudian di analisa. Setelah proses analisa selesai dilakukan, maka langkah selanjutnya adalah melakukan pengambilan kesimpulan dengan cara menarik kesimpulan dari analisa data yang dilakukan sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pilihan alternatif 2 ternyata lebih baik dari alternatif 1. Pilihan alternatif 2 menghasilkan laba per lembar saham yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan alternatif 1 dengan selisih Rp. 950,3 per lembar saham. A new system of library code is proposed and initiated. It is emphasized that the same terminologies as we find in our textbooks should be used for class names in the library code. This proposal is inspired by .NET of Microsoft. Several rules of thumb are suggested in order to obtain easy-readable coherent codes. As a first step, we present the library code for exact diagonalization in physics. When we build codes, we distinguish between model independent and dependent parts. For the model independent parts, we use the familiar terminologies like [Formula: see text], etc as class names. As an explicit example, we calculate ground state energy of a quantum dot, showing the triplet–singlet transition.

Untuk perhitungan komposisi bahan baku keramik dengan menggunakan metode simpleks. Metode Simpleks termasuk dalam Model Pemograman Linear (Linear Programming). Linear Programming adalah suatu cara untuk menyelesaikan persoalan pengalokasian sumber-sumber yang terbatas di antara beberapa aktivitas yang bersaing, dengan cara yang terbaik yang mungkin dilakukan. The levels of integration are indicated, the composition of subtasks (subsystems), which can be solved efficiently using various computing environments, are highlighted. The expediency of joint use of MatLab and R systems with high-level programming languages C ++ and C # is shown due to the limited or lack of tools for creating a convenient graphical user interface for mathematical systems, as well as the weak adaptability of programming languages for mathematical or statistical data processing and solving modeling problems. The aim of the article is to justify the most appropriate technology for integrating MatLab and R with highlevel programming languages to ensure high interaction efficiency and a user-friendly interface for complex mathematical or statistical data processing problems. The analysis of the possibilities and ways of solving the organization of interaction of MatLab and R systems with high-level languages carried out on the example of C # and the Microsoft Visual Studio environment. The possibilities of interaction of the R system and the MatLab system with highlevel programming languages, respectively, are considered. An example of software implementation of the integration of R and MatLab with a C# application is given. The capabilities of the developed program as a whole and the functionality of each of the subsystems used (R, MatLab and applications in C #) are indicated. The most preferable variant of integration of the considered systems - with the use of .NetFramework platform - is singled out. The advantages of using the Common Language Runtime for the implementation of the considered option of integrating R, MatLab and C # applications are noted.

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk membangun sebuah aplikasi penggajian di Kantor Kementerian Agama agar dapat mempermudah sebuah hal untuk membantu pekerjaan dalam membuat, mengubah, menyimpan, menyampaikan informasi dan menyebarluaskan informasi secara cepat dan berkualitas. Assignment of teaching loads refers to the allocation of teaching hours among academic staff. It will be the ideal way to assign the right courses to the right staff based on their expertise, preference and experience. The common practice in this department to allocate the teaching load is done manually through trial-and-error using Microsoft Excel which is inefficient and time consuming. Moreover, the manual allocation may lead to bias judgement and get unfavourable courses among academic staff. Thus, this study aims to propose a teaching load allocation model which able to optimize the teaching quality. A primary data has been collected using google form among 25 lecturers with 13 courses considered. Then, a linear programming model was applied based on department policies as constraints in order to find an optimal solution. A feasible solution will be solved using LINGO optimization software and the model serves as a best tool to assist head of department to allocate teaching loads. It found that the model proposed is suitable to be employed for teaching load allocation in this department .

This research used qualitatif methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and literature study. From the research conducted, there were promblems found are : (1) the cohort register was manual, (2) the absence of a more effective system to facilitate reporting, (3) reports are often damaged or even lost. (4) inadequate facilities and infrastructure. The need to use information systems in the digital world is absolutely necessary for a company. With an information system, it will be easier for companies to process data, store data and make decisions. One of the information system implementations that companies need is an accounting information system that regulates cash receipts and disbursements. However, currently there are still many companies that still store their transaction data traditionally using Microsoft Excel and are not yet computerized. Based on data obtained from interviews conducted with a company accountant, it is known that errors occurred when processing data which had an impact on financial reports, namely when inputting data into Microsoft Excel there was still data that was missed, resulting in incorrect financial reports. balance due to errors in recording transactions. By implementing a website-based cash accounting information system, it makes it easier for accountants to collect data in the cash book. This information system was created using the PHP programming language with Laravel as the framework and Extreme Programming as the development method. Extreme Programming was chosen because it requires good and regular communication with the client to adjust system needs. This information system consists of 3 iterations which have a processing time of 32 days. System testing was carried out using User Acceptance Testing with an average percentage obtained of 86.8%. These results can be indicated that the system is running properly and can be understood well by the client or user.

This paper presents a Decision Support System (DSS) for planning of farm regions in Greece. The DSS is based on the development possibilities of the agricultural sector in relation with the agricultural processing industries of the region and aims at the development of farm regions through a better utilization of available agricultural recourses and agricultural industries. The DSS uses Linear and Goal Programming models and provides for different goals alternative production plans that optimize the use of available recourses. On the other hand, the alternative plans achieve a better utilization of the existent agricultural processing industries or propose their expansion by taking into account the supply and demand of agricultural products in the region. The DSS is computerized and supported by a set of relational data bases. The corresponding software has been developed in Microsoft Windows platform, using Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft Access and LINDO. <p class="BasicParagraph">Aplikasi perpustakaan secara manual masih diterapakan di MTs Miftahul Ulum Jragung yaitu semua alur kerja masih dicatat dalam buku, mulai dari kehadiran, pendaftaran untuk kartu anggota, peminjaman dan pengembalian buku. Hal tersebut membuat proses dalam mencari sebuah informasi perpustakaan menjadi lama. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya sebuah aplikasi perpustakaan yang handal untuk mempercepat dan mempermudah proses informasi perpustakaan. Dalam merancang dan membangaun aplikasi perpustakaan MTs Miftahul Ulum Jragung digunakan metode <em>waterfall</em>, bahasa pemprograman <em>Microsoft Visual Basic</em> 2010, <em>database Microsoft Access</em> 2007 dan <em>UML </em>(<em>Unified Modeling Language</em>). Aplikasi perpustakaan terbukti mampu dalam proses kerjanya, mulai dari memberikan kemudahan bagi para pustakawan dan para pemustaka. Proses pengelolaan perpustakaan berbasis komputer membuat para pustakawan semakin mudah dalam memonitoring proses transaksi mulai dari pendataan anggota, pendataan buku, pencarian buku, peminjaman, pengembalian, dan pelaporan-pelaporan yang lian.</p><p class="BasicParagraph"><em>Manual library applications are still being applied at MTs Miftahul Ulum Jragung, namely, all workflows are still recorded in books, starting from attendance, registration for membership cards, borrowing and returning books. This makes the process of searching for library information a long one. Therefore it is necessary to have a reliable library application to speed up and simplify the library information process. The waterfall method, Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 programming language, Microsoft Access 2007 database, and UML (Unified Modeling Language) were used in designing and building the library application for MTs Miftahul 'Ulum Jragung. The library application is proven to be able in its work process, starting from making it easy for librarians and visitors. The library management process computer-based librarians make it easier for librarians to monitor the transaction process starting from member data collection, book data collection, book search, borrowing, return, and other reports.</em></p>

Abstract:
This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing and designing a Sales Information System at the GBEscoot store. According to the research results that have been obtained by the author, sales at this store are carried out in 3 marketplaces so it is necessary to manually re-record all online sales and count them manually. So that this method is less effective and efficient which causes errors in making sales reports. To minimize these errors, the authors create software engineering for online sales with programming applications with the aim of making it easier to find and obtain information related to sales that occur accurately and efficiently. In this study the authors used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The process of collecting data carried out by the author is observation, literature study, and interviews. Microsoft Visual Studio programming language with MySQL as the database used to create this sales information system. The author can conclude that by utilizing the sales information system created, sales data can be inputted and processed quickly and the resulting reports are accurate. Abstract:
The recording of raw material orders in PT.XYZ must be done through the embedded ERP system in the company, Microsoft Dynamics GP. However, the system is not perfect as it is not suitable for workers who follow traditional practices. To avoid losing goods, PT XYZ has started implementing kit recording, but a shortage of workers who enter KIT data can lead to human error. To overcome this, PT XYZ can automate the printing of KIT using VBA in Microsoft Excel. VBA allows applications to work more efficiently by easily manipulating object models. Excel macros support VBA programming and enhance the flexibility of the programming language. A well-organized VBA Excel application can produce a KIT list by pulling data from the production order sheet attached to the bus chassis as it moves on the production line. Once the specifications for a bus body to be produced are obtained, the user can edit and click one button to get the KIT that is suitable for that bus. Therefore, VBA in Excel can help PT XYZ improve the recording of raw material orders and reduce human errors that can cause financial losses.
