Abstract:
Microsoft office Excel is an important part of the Microsoft Office suite of software that can be processed, statistical analysis of various data, with its quick style and rich functionality has been generally welcomed, but with the database networking and sharing trends deepening, Excel application bottlenecks in stand-alone mode began to appear, and the network is the computer information technology in today's inevitable end, I imagine combining ADO technology developed by Delphi Excel data server in order to break this limitation, changes in non-network applications Excel mode.Excel Data Server is a set of services and client program, the server deployed on the server, the client is retrieved by the query language SQL, Excel data file can perform various operations and customer interface directly to form a Web-based application systems, customer service not only to support the application at both ends of the LAN, you can also support the application on the Internet. In this paper, Delphi7.0 support, using ADO and RemObjects SDK tools to develop an Excel data server. RemObjects referred to RO. RO version a lot, but it is recommended to use RemObjects Data Abstract 6.0.43.801, Delphi's experience in the development of it appear to be more stable, server-side and client-side data connections and programming efficiency, data manipulation more convenient.

ABSTRACT This education case teaches students Continuous Auditing/Continuous Monitoring (CA/CM) using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connections from students' Microsoft Access (Access) to tables in Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Server). First, the institution's database administrator (DBA) imports the student tables provided with the Teaching Notes into the institution's SQL Server with read-only access. In Access, students create ODBC connections to the SQL Server student tables. Then, students create Access queries using the ODBC-linked tables to monitor for anomalies. During a scheduled week, the DBA, in coordination with the faculty member, enters anomalies in the SQL Server student tables at random times, and students run their Access queries to identify the anomalies.

Abstract:
Spark SQL is a big data processing tool for structured data query and analysis. However, due to the execution of Spark SQL, there are multiple times to write intermediate data to the disk, which reduces the execution efficiency of Spark SQL. Targeting on the existing issues, we design and implement an intermediate data cache layer between the underlying file system and the upper Spark core to reduce the cost of random disk I/O. By using the query pre-analysis module, we can dynamically adjust the capacity of cache layer for different queries. And the allocation module can allocate proper memory for each node in cluster. According to the sharing of the intermediate data in the Spark SQL workflow, this paper proposes a cost-based correlation merging algorithm, which can effectively reduce the cost of reading and writing redundant data. This paper develops the SSO (Spark SQL Optimizer) module and integrates it into the original Spark system to achieve the above functions. This paper compares the query performance with the existing Spark SQL by experiment data generated by TPC-H tool. The experimental results show that the SSO module can effectively improve the query efficiency, reduce the disk I/O cost and make full use of the cluster memory resources.

Pertamina UPMS V Surabaya. But in the process of implementing management guidelines, the department of IT M&T has not maximized the implementation of the monitoring and scheduling because it does not yet have a project management information system application. So far employees from the department of IT M&T use the process of monitoring and scheduling projects manually, namely by making a report in the form of an excel file for each progress of the projects. Of course, this is considered inefficient and often encounters human errors. Therefore, a web-based project management information system application was made, the application was built using the C3 programming language and Microsoft SQL Server database. Based on observation, it was concluding that the features available in the project management information system application had been running well and were able to meet the needs of users.

Abstract:
Data shredding indicates a process of irreversible file destruction while file shredder is the program designed to render computer-based files unreadable by implementing overwriting method to destroy data in the content of a file. The addressable problem with existence of file recovery tools is it may lead to data leakage, exploitation or dissemination from an unauthorized person. Thus, this study proposed a file shredding application named E-Raser which replacing the content of the file using random words function algorithm. A file shredder application named E-Raser was developed to shred Microsoft Word documents with (.doc) or (.docx) format. The implemented algorithm replaced the original content of the files with uninformative words provided by the application. After rewriting phase is complete, shredding process take place to make the file unrecoverable. Object Oriented Software Development was used as the methodology to develop this application. As a result, E-Raser achieved the objectives to add, remove, rewrite, display and shred files. Also, E-Raser is significantly facilitates users to securely dispose their file, protect the confidentiality and privacy of the file’s content.

Abstract:
The large vertical mill has complicated structure and tens of thousands of parts, which is a critical grinding equipment for slag and cinder. As large vertical mill always works in severe conditions, the on-line monitoring, timely fault diagnosis, and trend prediction are very important guarantees for the safe service and saving maintaining costs. To address this issue, the health management system for large vertical mill is developed. More specifically, in order to manage reservoirs of state-related running data, the intrinsic physic data, and diagnosis knowledge base, an entity-relationship-model-based database is first constructed. Based on the fault diagnosis reasoning of experts, the fault tree is developed and the fault diagnosis rules are derived. Especially, a hybrid condition prognosis method based on backtracking search optimization algorithm and neural network is developed, and in comparison with traditional back propagation neural network and ant colony neural network, the developed backtracking search optimization algorithm and neural network gets superior hybrid prediction performance in prediction accuracy and training efficiency. Finally, the health management system, including the functions of condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, and trend prediction for large vertical mill is implemented using Microsoft Visual Studio C # and Microsoft SQL Server.

The first tier server is based on the related technical database of engineering vehicles, and the second tier one is the technical information database downloaded from the manufactures technical resources with PDA as the terminal for maintenance technician. The system function includes information query, user interaction, data downloading and uploading as well as network communication. The software platform is composed of Microsoft SQL Server Compact (SQL CE) database, application software on PDA and computer. Meanwhile the hardware platform is mainly composed of desktop PC or dedicated server, PDA mounted with cradle, data acquisition card as well as PCMCIA network adapter and so on. Both wireless communication and USB interface are adopted in the system. It has been used in many military units. The application demonstrates that the PDA-based networked fault diagnosis system of vehicles is beneficial to data query, fault elimination and repair capability of engineering vehicles.

Abstract:
Generation of the part programs, or tool paths, for products to be manufactured by computer numerical control (CNC) machines is very important. Many methods have been used to produce part programs, ranging from manual calculations to computer aided design/ manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. This work introduces a new technique for generating the part programs of existing products using the latest technology of computer vision. The proposed vision system is applicable for two-dimensional vertical milling CNC machines and is calibrated to produce both metric and imperial dimensions. Two steps are used to generate the part program. In the first step, the vision system is used to capture an image for the product to be manufactured. In the second step, the image is processed and analysed by software specially written for this purpose. The software CNCVision is fully written (in lab) using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. It is ready to run on any Windows environment. The CNCVision software processes the captured images and applies computer vision techniques to extract the product dimensions, then generates a suitable part program. All required information for the part program is calculated automatically, such as G-codes, X and Y coordinates of start-points and end-points, radii of arcs and circles and direction of arcs (clockwise or counterclockwise). The generated part program can be displayed on screen, saved to a file or sent to MS Word or MS Excel. In addition, the engineering drawing of the product can be displayed on screen or sent to AutoCAD as a drawing file.

Abstract:
As a result of today's competitive business environment, companies have been trying to improve the utilization of funds effectively in their budgets for information technology investments. These companies retrieve more information with the same set of resources by means of business intelligence methods. According to Rubin (Chabrow, 2004) IT budgets are not simply declining or levelling off, rather, companies are shifting from a pure cost-cut mode to a model that emphasises agility and efficiency. Tremendous daily growth of the company data requires more funds and investment for establishing the technologies and infrastructure necessary for gathering fast and crucial information that supports the decision making process. This necessity gave birth to various business intelligence methods, which mainly aim to process mass amount of collected data from their existing application, and represent it in a way with which companies can apply to their daily competitive decisions. This application primarily concerns the implementation of business intelligence for a retail business company. The aim is to implement built-in business intelligence solutions of the Microsoft SQL Server that holds the commercial information of the company for the past three years. The customer company has already been using Microsoft products. The key items used for analyzing data are sales, momentary inventory and logistics information. The application can be grouped in five main areas: Building the data warehouse, constructing OLAP cubes, applying data mining algorithms on OLAP cubes, representing the results in reports with reporting services, and implementation.

High availability of industrial plant could only be achieved by adopting best global maintenance practices (computer software). In this research work, a software module was developed using programming tools such as Visual Basic (V.B) 6.0, Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft Access. Operational data were collected from Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company and was input into the developed software to analyze the plant availability. The performance test results obtained by the software for a five year period (2009-2013) showed that the software developed is consistently close to 100% accuracy. The output result indicates that the plant availability in 2009 is 9.59%; 2010 is 5.75%; 2011 is 7.12%; 2012 is 1.64% and 2013 is 6.30%. This highly fluctuating and low availability of raw material, inadequate maintenance strategies, aging plant and equipment, lack of spare parts stock for preventive and corrective maintenance for emergency, lack of standby (backup) equipment and utility constraints. It was observed that the aforementioned reasons invariably resulted to constant failure of plant availability could greatly be improved by adopting best global maintenance practices which include the deployment of appropriate software tools.

Malware detection plays a crucial role in computer security. Recent researches mainly use machine learning based methods heavily relying on domain knowledge for manually extracting malicious features. In this paper, we propose MalNet, a novel malware detection method that learns features automatically from the raw data. Concretely, we first generate a grayscale image from malware file, meanwhile extracting its opcode sequences with the decompilation tool IDA. Then MalNet uses CNN and LSTM networks to learn from grayscale image and opcode sequence, respectively, and takes a stacking ensemble for malware classification. We perform experiments on more than 40,000 samples including 20,650 benign files collected from online software providers and 21,736 malwares provided by Microsoft. The evaluation result shows that MalNet achieves 99.88% validation accuracy for malware detection. In addition, we also take malware family classification experiment on 9 malware families to compare MalNet with other related works, in which MalNet outperforms most of related works with 99.36% detection accuracy and achieves a considerable speed-up on detecting efficiency comparing with two state-of-the-art results on Microsoft malware dataset.

SummaryThe structure of computer-processed images is described. This is the basis for presenting a method to integrate traditional database concepts and images which represent a certain class of nonformatted, heterogeneous information. The method presented consists of a special, surrogate Image data type and a design of Image Directory, which associates formatted data, raw digital images stored conceptually in the form of a file of variable length, bit string records, and look-up tables. Beside individual and aggregate-oriented retrieval, some tools supporting more sophisticated analyses of images are also suggested. In order to make the description of solutions clear and truly methodological, a basic notion of the relational database technology and a de facto standard query language (SQL) have been applied. The method presented can be used to build various medical applications where images and/or graphics constitute an important fraction of information.

Abstract. Microsoft Excel is not considered a typical software for digital image processing and analysis. However, based on its large data handling and graphing capabilities, as well as its widespread usage, it presents a good opportunity for use as a tool for teaching image data processing or use in demonstrations requiring little training. It also lends itself well as a potentially useful research tool that can benefit a wide range of users including those with little or no computer programming knowledge. This article demonstrates a new method which can be adopted for teaching concepts of image processing and analysis, consisting of systematic procedures for implementing typical operations in Excel. Categories of operations demonstrated using this method include image preprocessing, image enhancement, image classification, analysis of change over time, and image data fusion. Examples of outputs resulting from using this new method are discussed in the article. The success of this proposed method is hinged on the availability of the required image data, based on which a simple graphical user interface (GUI) application was developed in MATLAB. That application, RGBExcel or the later RGB2X, extracts RGB image data from image files of any format and file size, and exports to Excel for processing. Deployed as standalone applications, both versions can be installed on a 64-bit windows computer and run without MATLAB. Keywords: Color images, Multispectral imagery, Remote sensing, RGB image data, RGB2X, RGBExcel.

Abstract:
Soil electrical resistivity (ER) is an important indicator to indirectly determine soil physical and chemical properties such as moisture, salinity, porosity, organic matter level, bulk density, and soil texture. In this study, real-time ER measurement system has been developed with the help of an autonomous robot. The aim of this study is to provide rapid measurement of the ER in large areas using the Wenner four-probe measurement method for precision farming applications. The ER measurement platform consists of the Wenner probes, a y-axis shifter driven by a DC motor through a gear reducer, all installed on a steel-frame that mount to an autonomous robot. An embedded industrial computer and differential global positioning system (DGPS) were used to assist in real-time measuring, recording, mapping, and displaying the ER and the robot position during the field operation. The data acquisition software was codded in Microsoft Visual Basic.NET. Field experiments were carried out in a 1.2 ha farmland soil. ER and DGPS values were stored in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database, an ordinary Kriging interpolation technique by ArcGIS was used and the average ER values were mapped for the soil depth between 0 and 50 cm. As a result, ER values were observed to be between 30.757 and 70.732 ohm-m. In conclusion, the experimental results showed that the designed system works quite well in the field and the ER measurement platform is a practical tool for providing real-time soil ER measurements.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to integrate and optimize a multiple big data processing platform with the features of high performance, high availability and high scalability in big data environment. Design/methodology/approach – First, the integration of Apache Hive, Cloudera Impala and BDAS Shark make the platform support SQL-like query. Next, users can access a single interface and select the best performance of big data warehouse platform automatically by the proposed optimizer. Finally, the distributed memory storage system Memcached incorporated into the distributed file system, Apache HDFS, is employed for fast caching query results. Therefore, if users query the same SQL command, the same result responds rapidly from the cache system instead of suffering the repeated searches in a big data warehouse and taking a longer time to retrieve. Findings – As a result the proposed approach significantly improves the overall performance and dramatically reduces the search time as querying a database, especially applying for the high-repeatable SQL commands under multi-user mode. Research limitations/implications – Currently, Shark’s latest stable version 0.9.1 does not support the latest versions of Spark and Hive. In addition, this series of software only supports Oracle JDK7. Using Oracle JDK8 or Open JDK will cause serious errors, and some software will be unable to run. Practical implications – The problem with this system is that some blocks are missing when too many blocks are stored in one result (about 100,000 records). Another problem is that the sequential writing into In-memory cache wastes time. Originality/value – When the remaining memory capacity is 2 GB or less on each server, Impala and Shark will have a lot of page swapping, causing extremely low performance. When the data scale is larger, it may cause the JVM I/O exception and make the program crash. However, when the remaining memory capacity is sufficient, Shark is faster than Hive and Impala. Impala’s consumption of memory resources is between those of Shark and Hive. This amount of remaining memory is sufficient for Impala’s maximum performance. In this study, each server allocates 20 GB of memory for cluster computing and sets the amount of remaining memory as Level 1: 3 percent (0.6 GB), Level 2: 15 percent (3 GB) and Level 3: 75 percent (15 GB) as the critical points. The program automatically selects Hive when memory is less than 15 percent, Impala at 15 to 75 percent and Shark at more than 75 percent.

Abstract:
Data warehouse contains vast amount of data to support complex queries of various Decision Support Systems (DSSs). It needs to store materialized views of data, which must be available consistently and instantaneously. Using a frame metadata model, this paper presents an architecture of a universal data warehousing with different data models. The frame metadata model represents the metadata of a data warehouse, which structures an application domain into classes, and integrates schemas of heterogeneous databases by capturing their semantics. A star schema is derived from user requirements based on the integrated schema, catalogued in the metadata, which stores the schema of relational database (RDB) and object-oriented database (OODB). Data materialization between RDB and OODB is achieved by unloading source database into sequential file and reloading into target database, through which an object relational view can be defined so as to allow the users to obtain the same warehouse view in different data models simultaneously. We describe our procedures of building the relational view of star schema by multidimensional SQL query, and the object oriented view of the data warehouse by Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) through method call, derived from the integrated schema. To validate our work, an application prototype system has been developed in a product sales data warehousing domain based on this approach.

Abstract:
Extensible Markup Language (XML) has become a common language for data interchange and data representation in the Web. The evolution of the big data environment and the large volume of data which is being represented by XML on the Web increase the challenges in effectively managing such data in terms of storing and querying. Numerous solutions have been introduced to store and query XML data, including the file systems, Object-Oriented Database (OODB), Native XML Database (NXD), and Relational Database (RDB). Previous research attempts indicate that RDB is the most powerful technology for managing XML data to date. Because of the structure variations of XML and RDB, the need to map XML data to an RDB scheme is increased. This growth has prompted numerous researchers and database vendors to propose different approaches to map XML documents to an RDB, translating different types of XPath queries to SQL queries and returning the results to an XML format. This paper aims to comprehensively review most cited and latest mapping approaches and database vendors that use RDB solution to store and query XML documents, in a narrative manner. The advantages and the drawbacks of each approach is discussed, particularly in terms of storing and querying. The paper also provides some insight into managing XML documents using RDB solution in terms of storing and querying and contributes to the XML community.
