Abstract:
Software testing is the process of verifying and validating the user’s requirements. Testing is ongoing process during whole software development. Software testing is characterized into three main types. That is, in Black box testing, user doesn’t know domestic knowledge, internal logics and design of system. In white box testing, Tester knows the domestic logic of code. In Grey box testing, Tester has little bit knowledge about the internal structure and working of the system. It is commonly used in case of Integration testing.Load testing helps us to analyze the performance of the system under heavy load or under Zero load. This is achieved with the help of a Load Testing Tool. The intention for writing this research is to carry out a comparison of four load testing tools i.e. Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, Microsoft Visual Studio (TFS), Siege based on certain criteria i.e. test scripts generation , result reports, application support, plug-in supports, and cost . The main focus is to study these load testing tools and identify which tool is better and more efficient . We assume this comparison can help in selecting the most appropriate tool and motivates the use of open source load testing tools.

Software maintenance is necessary for reasons such as changes in user needs, changes in the operating conditions of the system due to changes in the infrastructure, the occurrence of unforeseen errors. The suitability of the software for maintenance operations is a significant influence in reducing the cost. Using only basic object oriented programming concepts do not show that we are writing maintainable code in our applications. Object oriented design principles such SOLID are about reducing dependencies and increasing maintainability. ISO/IEC 9126 is about maintainability but ISO/IEC 9126 is not clear about whether all inputs to measurement should be used together in conjunction or whether they should be used as appropriate or available. Indeed, ISO/IEC 9126 provides no guidance, heuristics, rules of thumb, or any other means to show how to trade off measures, how to weight measures or even how to simply collate them. In this study each sub-characteristic of ISO/IEC maintainability with help of Visual Studio VS code metric tool is assessed. The focus of this assessment is on maintainability and its sub-characteristics like analyzability, testability, changeability and stability. Before doing an analysis, each sub-characteristics of maintainability part of ISO/IEC 9126 standard are mapped to five VS code metrics for measurement of characteristics. This work shows the effect of object oriented design principles SOLID to the maintainability, complexity and flexibility of the code while associating ISO/IEC, VS code metric and SOLID.

Report card score processing is still using Microsoft Excel and count it manually. So there can be any mistakes in calculation, and report card processing needs a lot of time. With this online report card information system, hopefully it can make it easier for schools to manage report cards in a way that saves time and effort and avoid miscalculation of report card scores. At this writing, the writer is still using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. Applications created using Codeigniter 3 for the framework, PHP for the programming language, MySQL for the database, and Visual Studio Code as tools to help create theinformation system. This system helps in the processing of report cards to print the results of report cards that are conveyed well and quickly. Intisari — Sistem pengolahan rapor pada SD Islam Imam Syafi’i Jember masih belum terkomputerisasi, yaitu mengola nilai rapor masih menggunakan Microsot Excel dan menghitungnya masih dengan cara manual, sehingga bisa terjadi kesalahan dalam perhitungan dan proses pengolahan rapor membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Dengan adanya sistem informasi rapor online ini, diharapkan dapat mempermudah pihak sekolah dalam mengola rapor dengan cara yang lebih hemat waktu dan tenaga, dan menghindari kesalahan perhitungan nilai rapor. Pada penulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode Rapid Aplication Development (RAD). Abstract:
In this paper, we comparatively present two heuristics search methods – Simulated Annealing and Weighted Sum Genetic Algorithm, in order to find optimal cutting parameters in turning operation. We consider five different constraints aiming to achieve minimum total cost of machining. We developed a customizable software application in Microsoft Visual Studio with C# source code, flexible and extensible that implements the optimization methods. The experiments are based on real data gathered from S.C. “Compa” S.A Sibiu, a company that manufactures automotive components and targets improving of product quality and reducing cost and production time. The obtained results show that, although the Weighted Sum Genetic Algorithm does not guarantee the optimality of finals solution despite of a high probability to be, it is superior to that provided by Simulated Annealing.

Abstract:
This independent work includes refactoring a website application. In simpler sense, it means modernizing existing code by increasing its quality and making it more understandable; to exchange old knowledge of methods and concepts into something that is more relevant to its time. This refactoring has also meant to transform the UI into something that is more appealing, and more userfriendly. The website that has gone through the refactoring is Nordyr (”https://nordyr.com/”). Nordyr is a Nordic Film &amp; Series Database that shares information about Nordic films and tv-series, and everyone involved. They also offer social tools such as user profiles and various tools to simplify the exploration and interaction between Nordic movies and consumers. This was made possible by using vanilla PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, and the MariaDB database for information storage and management. The implementation of the refactoring meant retaining PHP for the backend, but applying the Laravel framework, and likewise for JavaScript, but applying ReactJS (a powerful JavaScript library). Nordyr retains MariaDB for its information storage and management, however, its SQL queries have been adapted to Laravel’s query-builder and Eloquent ORM, which means that the majority of SQL queries have been rewritten and the majority of data tables are now represented by models. The restructuring of Nordyr has shown that the website now has the ability to scale better, and the development environment will also be more pleasant for those involved.<br>Det här självständiga arbetet har innefattat att omstrukturera en hemsida. Det innebär i enklare mening att modernisera kod och öka dess kvalité; att byta ut äldre kunskaper om metoder och koncept till något som anses vara av mer relevans för sin tid. Refaktoreringen har också inneburit att dess UI gjorts om till att bli mer tilltalande och användarvänlig. Hemsidan som gått igenom refaktoreringen är Nordyr (”https://nordyr.com/”). Nordyr är en Nordisk Film- &amp; Serie-databas som delar information om nordiska filmer och tv-serier och alla inblandade. De erbjuder även sociala verktyg som användarprofiler och diverse verktyg för att förenkla upptäckandet och interaktionen mellan nordiska titlar och konsumenter. Detta gjordes möjligt med hjälp av vanilj PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, och databasen MariaDB för informationslagring och hantering. Genomförandet av refaktoreringen innebar att behålla PHP för backend men tillämpa ramverket Laravel, och likaså för frontend, JavaScript stod kvar men ReactJS (”JavaScript bibliotek”) tillämpades. Nordyr behåller MariaDB, men dess förfrågningar i SQL har anpassats till Laravels query-builder och Eloquent ORM, vilket innebar att majoriteten av SQL frågor skrivits om och majoriteten av tabeller representeras nu av modeller (”Models”). Omstruktureringen av Nordyr har visat på att hemsidan nu har förmågan att skala bättre, och utvecklingsmiljön kommer även bli mer behaglig för de inblandade.

In software development process, there can be misunderstandings, communication problems between individual members of the development team and mistakes when writing code or designing applications. These problems need to be resolved before the application is released into the production environment. To discover these errors it is necessary to properly test the software product. All these activities are engaged in discipline called Software Quality Assurance (SQA), which is an integral part of the software development process. The thesis discusses this discipline and procedures for software testing using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. The main objective of this work is to create comprehensive methodology for automated testing of web and Windows applications in Microsoft Visual Studio and to verify that procedures in practice. The reader will learn the theoretical basis of software testing at the beginning of the thesis. In next chapter, there are described various features that Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 offers for software testing. Following chapter describes the applications testing in IBM Rational Functional Tester, which is suitable for Windows applications testing (Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 does not support this kind of tests). In other part of the work -- Case Study -- the reader will learn web and Windows applications testing. Case study can serve as a basis for further methodological manual for teams engaged in software testing. The usage of instruments for testing is explained in real examples. At the end of the work there are set out recommendations for the team collaboration using Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and there are also compared the testing instruments and reviewed functions that will come up with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

This report represents a comparison between two different tools used to create an online store that was developed by two students at the Technical University in Jönköping. The web shop will be of great benefit to both customers and administrator in a food firm known as Mattias' Livs. The company wanted an online store that facilitates the sale section and gives a full control of their stocks. The aim of this thesis is to create an online store that offers customers the ability to shop online and help the staff to operate the company in a simpler and more efficient way, which reduces the need for human resources and thus leads to less costs for the company. The aim also includes a comparison between the two different tools used to create the online store. At the start of work, the authors discussed the problem with the client and finally came up with a set of requirements, which our work is based on. The report includes an introduction chapter, which is divided into two different sections. The first section describes the background and problem description. While second chapter describes the purpose of the thesis and the subjects that the students will respond at the end of the report. The study compares the two different tools, which is Microsoft Visual Studio and osCommerce. Visual Studio has been the market leader in Internet-based applications since 1997. While osCommerce is a newer tool that has gained significant market share. The two tools are examined through the creation of two websites built into each tool. The results of this study show that Microsoft Visual Studio is a more efficient alternative for creating a stable web applications, but the tool has also some usability problems due to programming complexity. OsCommerce is a simple tool that has some issues with the design customization, at the same time it has a usable interface for the administrator. The web shop was published online by installing the application on a host server which means the customers can order products online.

This work is devoted to the problems of algorithms graphical presentation, ways of execution such presentations and instruments enabling conversion of programming code to the above form. The aim of this work is designing and implementing tool enabling to kopenogram graphical presentation of programming codes, developed on the Microsoft.Net framework. The work contains of theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical part contains an introduction into the algorithm graphical presentation theory, methods of providing such presentation and an introduction to the graphical presentation using kopenograms. Practical part includes the design and implementing of a tool for kopenogram presentation based on an analysis of the programming code. The resulting tool is an extension of Microsoft Visual Studio development environment. Also practical part contains implementing guide and a briefing of technologies where used in a current implementation and user manuals with instructions on how to handle.

In recent years, Component models have become common for desktop and server-side applications. But it has not obtained such importance in case of embedded real-time systems.  Therefore, there has been a lot of research undergoing for introducing such component models for embedded real-time systems.  This thesis work proposes an alternative approach for doing this, by the generation of proxies.   The idea is to provide an extension to an existing binary component and modify it to adapt to the targeted real-time operating system. Rather than modifying the existing component, a new component is generated, which is called as the proxy component.  This newly generated proxy component provides the same method implementation as the original component and also provides some additional services.  These services enable these components to meet the needs of targeted embedded real-time systems.  In order to achieve this, a Visual Studio 2008 add-in has been created. This add-in is capable of inspecting an existing Smart Device Component and visualizes the Classes, Interfaces and Methods in the original component in its UI.  In addition to this, the add-in also shows the available services to be included in the proxy component.  The UI of the add-in is designed in such a way that, the user is able to select the services, which should be included in the proxy component.  Based on the user’s selection, the add-in generates the proxy component with the additional services.

Företaget har tidigare använt sig av marknadsföring i lokaltidningen men insåg fördelen med att använda Internet som verktyg. Deras idé var en ”Blocket.se”-liknande funktion på deras hemsida som skulle göra det möjligt för dem att marknadsföra artiklar.</p><p>Formuleringen på deras behov och det som legat till grunden för detta projekt var: Hur tillverkar man en avancerad publiceringsfunktion som är lätt att använda?</p><p>Inledningsvis gjordes en teoretisk studie inom områdena databaser, SQL, .NET och Visual Studio. Valet föll så här eftersom det var områden jag ville lära mig mer om.</p><p>Under utvecklingsarbetet i ovan nämnda tekniker hölls en tät kontakt med representanter från företag för att de snabbt skulle kunna ge respons på arbetet. Projektet resulterade i två olika saker:</p><p>-En lösenordsskyddad administrationsdel där all administration såsom publicering av artiklar, hantering av artiklar och kategorier, intresseanmälningar, ändring av öppettider m.m. kan skötas på ett enkelt sätt.</p><p>-Företagets hemsida där besökare kan ta del av aktuella erbjudanden, bläddra bland artiklar, kontakta företaget, läsa företagsinformation, lämna intresseanmälningar på artiklar m.m.</p><p>All programmering har gjorts med slutanvändarna, dvs. anställda på företaget och besökare på hemsidan i åtanke. Ett antal felkontroller både färdiga och egentillverkade har använts för att se till att fel inte uppstår i arbetet med databasen. Istället för ”riktiga” felmeddelanden visas förklarande texter om vad som måste åtgärdas.</p><p>I projektets slutskede så lanserades Axel Spetz nya hemsida och den började direkt användas som ett verktyg i företagets marknadsföring. Jag anser att det är ett bra bevis på att projektet var lyckat.</p>

The purpose of the project is to study the SAP system, IS Apollo,  the database platform Oracle 10g, the RFID technology and to make a marketing research of a device for the chip EPCglobal UHF Gen2. On base marketing research propose and implement RFID inventory. At implementation target will be collective reading RFID tags. Further I will implement application simulating evidence systems and I will design data transmission to those application that will be also used at transmission data to the IS Apolla. I decided to implement the inventorying in the development environment Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition C#. Application simulated accounting property and data transmission I decide to implement in the development environment Borland Delphi 7.

Microsoft ha introdotto nella versione 2015 di Visual Studio un nuovo compilatore per i linguaggi C# e Visual Basic chiamato Roslyn. Oltre che un compilatore, Roslyn è una piattaforma che mette a disposizione degli sviluppatori servizi per analizzare e modificare progetti .NET, interagire con le varie fasi della compilazione e creare applicazioni per l'analisi e generazione di codice sorgente. Obiettivo della tesi vuole essere lo studio della suddetta piattaforma ed il suo utilizzo nello sviluppo di estensioni per Visual Studio. La tesi si pone pertanto nel contesto delle tecniche di analisi e generazione di codice sorgente. Il lavoro di tesi ha previsto lo sviluppo di due applicazioni facenti uso delle API di Roslyn. La prima applicazione consiste in un analizzatore di codice C# che provvede alla segnalazione di warning riguardanti l'errato utilizzo del costrutto var e all'esplicitazione del tipo relativo. La seconda applicazione riguarda un generatore di codice C# che utilizza i servizi di Roslyn per semplificare e automatizzare la scrittura di codice nel contesto del framework Phoenix. I risultati ottenuti possono essere d'aiuto per un successivo studio della piattaforma Roslyn ed essere usati come punto di partenza per la creazione dei propri applicativi per l'analisi e generazione di codice sorgente.

Thermal and hydrodynamic concepts are of a vital importance; therefore their assessments are unavoidable for the purpose of hydraulic systems. The present study implements the practical updated knowledge of the expertise for both of the hydraulic and thermal fields in an expert system model. This is implemented in order to improve the performance of hydraulic system by considering the thermal effect on the hydraulic system operation. Accordingly, a computer program (Hydraulic System Calculations), designated as (HSC) implements a Visual Basic language in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 software has been built. Regardless of the design requirements, the code is capable to deal with (18) possible connection types of the actuators, in series or parallel, arrangements. The suggested code provides the designer with a number of choices, different kind of connections, to resolve the problem of hydraulic oil overheating which may arise during the continuous operation of the hydraulic unit. As a result, the (HSC) is able to minimize the human errors, effort, time and cost of hydraulic machine design.

"This paper describes an interactive holographic simulation of volcanic eruption. The aim of the project is to use Augmented Reality (AR) technology to visualize different volcanic eruptions for public education, emergency training, and preparedness planning purposes. To achieve this goal, a 3D model of the entire Vulcano Island in Italy has been created using real elevation data. Unity game engine and Microsoft Visual Studio have been used to develop HoloVulcano augmented/virtual reality simulation application. The current version of HoloVulcano simulates normal and unrest situations, single and long lasting Vulcanian, Plinian, and Strombolian eruptions. HoloVulcano has been developed for Microsoft HoloLens AR device. Wearing the HoloLens, users can interact with the volcano through voice, gazing, and gestures and view different eruptions from different points in the island. HoloVulcano will be used for training emergency exercises and public education."
