Inverse analysis of nanoindentation data has attracted increasing interest in industry due to its ability to estimate the bulk tensile properties of materials and potentially offers an alternative technique to conventional characterisation methods. Inverse analysis of nanoindentation data is particularly valuable in applications where conventional techniques are not suitable due to either the scale of characterisation (very small regions) or because the testing is expensive and time consuming. The cyclic stress-strain curves of Ti64 and SP700 alloy exhibit material softening behavior, being independent of strain rate. The plastic fatigue life of SP700 is superior to that of Ti64 alloy at low strain rate of 10-4 S-1. The long patches twins occur at low strain rate in α phase is profitable to extend fatigue life than short segment twin at high strai
