Abstract:
The ubiquity of index-finger pointing, and its early emergence in child development, has suggested that such pointing may be biologically-determined. However, cross-cultural variation in the form of pointing has also been noted, with some observations of middle-finger pointing. Here we examine the limited corpus of publically-available video data on the signs and gestures of Genie, a child who suffered severe social and linguistic deprivation throughout her childhood. These data suggest that Genie favored the use of the middle finger in points, in ASL signs that have an index-finger target han

Correlational research design and a database of students’ attendance and results to get secondary data were used in the study. A random cluster sample of students from the bachelor's degree program was taken. The study demonstrated that there is a mean difference in the population or, equivalently, that the two-sample means were drawn from different populations of online vs face-to-face teaching.

The Middle Palaeolithic culture has been widely distributed in the Ghataprabha basin, obtained from 113 sites. The majority of the sites are concentrated in the middle and lower reaches of the river Ghataprabha and the assemblage is comprised of scrapers of various types, points, borers and scraper cum borer and borer cum points. The studies conducted at the site Kovalli which lies in the lower reaches of Ghataprabha suggest that the Kovalli assemblage can be categorized as mixture of Middle Palaeolithic and late Middle Palaeolithic. Abstract:
During the Last Interglacial Middle Palaeolithic industries of Crvena Stijena-type rich in side-scrapers with Levallois technique of recurrent type are specific to the Balkans. These industries have analogies in Anatolia and the northern part of the Middle East (Zagros-Group), but are different from industries typical of the middle Danube basin (Taubachian) and northern Central Europe (Moustero-Levalloisian). In the period preceding and immediately following the Lower Pleniglacial the Balkans were dominated by typical Mousterian and Moustero-Levalloisian, frequently with leaf points, similar t

In order to turning the skirt of middle-convex and varying ellipse piston, this paper proposes a Variable Cross-section Helix Turning Trajectory (VCHTT) algorithm. it divide the turning trajectory of the piston skirt into transversal and helix, then obtain the coordinates of ellipse transversal cutter-contact points on the basis of centric polar radius arc interpolation (CPRAI) algorithm, and uses line surface intersection method to obtain the coordinates of helix cutter-contact points on the middle-convex and varying ellipse piston skirt. At last, merge two coordinates matrices to obtain the f

Abstract:
Sinus headaches are attributed to inflammatory disease of the sinus mucosa or ostium. In 1948 H.G. Wolff first recognized that sinus headaches may occur in the absence of inflammatory sinusitis, and may be due to contact between strategic “trigger points” in the sinonasal passages. Since this time there have been sporadic reports of headaches and facial pain due to an enlarged middle turbinate contacting either the septum or lateral nasal wall. It is theorized that an enlarged middle turbinate, most commonly due to pneumatization (concha bullosa), can contact the septum or lateral nasal wall a

Abstract:
The author studies taxonomic, floristic, comparative, ecological and indicator-saprobiс features of algoflora of the Zarafshan River middle stream. The study was conducted at 10 observation points located along the river. These points are selected by location of such polluting sources as river channels, large reservoirs, sewage domestic, industrial areas and major cities. It is revealed that in the river there are 331 species and varieties of algae. They belong to 81 genus, 38 families, 16 orders, 11 classes and 5 departments. 97 species and varieties of these are an indicator-saprobic algae.
