In soilless production systems the application and availability of nutrients is closely linked to that of water, necessitating the research of methods to increase water and fertiliser use efficiency in soilless production systems, while diminishing environmental pollution and maintaining, or ultimately improving, tomato yield and quality. Tests between the two methods, actual and optimized, showed that . current levels of cutting volume production were not able to be improved upon with optimization. Temperament is an intrinsic characteristic of the animals so may affect the level of comfort at milking, and stress from the milking process itself may have a greater impact on animals with nervous temperament than on those of nervous temperament. When the milking becomes a stressor, it may affect secretion of milk ejection hormones that, in turn, may affect milk yield and composition. There is little evidence for how animal te
