The article compares the poetic trends which emerged during the 1970s, and still present in the field of contemporary poetry, with the latest poems written by the Milanese author, Milo De Angelis. Con la poesia moderna l’immagine onirica e il sogno di un’unità nuova, fortemente presenti nel Romanticismo, sfociano spesso nel quadro della lacerazione e dell’impossibilità della notte. Dal punto di vista filosofico tale tendenza viene rappresentata da Maurice Blanchot che nel saggio Lo spazio letterario propone una distinzione tra prima e altra notte. Il suo modello risulta direttamente applicabile all’opera di Stéphane Mallarmé, considerando soprattutto l’ottica di Igitur. Questo articolo traccia degli aspetti dell’italianitŕ nell’opera di Milo De Angelis, che esordisce nel 1976 con Somiglianze. La sua poesia, opponendosi alla crisi poetica del secondo Novecento, cerca di rifondare lo statuto del discorso lirico, restando pur sempre profondamente radicata nella corporalitŕ delle cose. Le seguenti analisi vengono focalizzate su due punti principali, esaminati tramite i riferimenti alla letteratura italiana. Il primo di essi č quello della rappresentazione di Milano, in cui vengono scoperti degli influssi della poetica di Charles Baudelaire che permettono a De Angelis di abbandonare l’orizzonte usuale della sua cittŕ. La peculiaritŕ rilevata nella seconda parte del saggio č il carattere della parola poetica in sé, determinata da un contrasto interno tra l’elemento dionisiaco ed apollineo.

For thousands of the tsars’ political enemies in imperial Russia, the bad news was that they were being stripped of their wealth, their civil rights, and their aristocratic privileges and exiled to Siberia, perhaps never to return home. The good news was that they were being sent to Irkutsk. In the continent-sized freezer and prison camp that was Siberia, Irkutsk was a place where formerly dignified and refined Russians not only might survive but might even be able to live with something approaching the dignity and refinement of their lives back in St. Petersburg or Moscow. “The best of all Siberian towns is Irkutsk,” Chekhov wrote on his way east to report on the prison camps of Sakhalin Island in the Pacific in 1890. The city is more than 5,000 kilometers from Moscow, 250 kilometers from Mongolia, and twice as close to Beijing’s Forbidden City as to the Kremlin, and even after the first road was cut from Moscow in the 1860s, it took a month of miserable travel to get here under the best conditions. It’s also a place where it was said that you could hear a symphony or an opera as good as any in St. Petersburg, or attend the theater in a hall that would grace the most elegant streets of the Russian capital. Where, today, you can walk down tree-lined sidewalks fronting elegant commercial blocks with well-stocked shops and cafes serving the best coffee west of San Francisco. Where green and gold spires descend to ornate white Orthodox churches and poplar-shaded log houses with gracefully carved eaves and window frames extend for what seem like miles in every direction. Irkutsk was founded in the mid-seventeenth century as a Cossack ostrog, a fort at the confluence of the Irkut and Angara rivers, and by the mid-eighteenth century it had become the administrative center of Eastern Siberia as the Russian Empire pushed its frontier ever eastward. It had also become the economic hub of the region, “the warehouse of Russia,” as the contemporary writer Mark Sergeyev puts it, where, he says, quoting a Russian proverb, “everything was on sale except pigeon’s milk.”

The chapter begins by describing the landscape of the Inland Empire and by examining the role that it has played as a development region for metropolitan Los Angeles. It also shows how the Kaiser mill contributed to the territorialization of new racial and class relations that shaped the region’s politics long after the mill had succumbed to global restructuring. Inland California provides an example of what happened to suburbs in the United States during the transition from a postwar Keynesian spatial order to one based on flexible accumulation. This includes a series of racial migrations, from white migrants during the postwar period to Latinx migrants during the 1990s and 2000s. Chapter 7 includes an account of the sometimes-violent tension that gripped the region’s politics during the transition from a mostly white to a mostly Latinx population.

Objetivou-se avaliar a resistência de painéis aglomerados impregnados com extratos naturais obtidos de madeiras amazônicas contra fungos xilófagos, buscando soluções para aumentar a resistência e durabilidade desses painéis a fungos xilófagos. Para os ensaios com fungos, amostras com dimensões de 2,5 cm × 2,5 cm × 1,27 cm foram obtidas de painéis de partículas. Os extratos naturais concentrados foram extraídos a partir de processamento industrial (serragem) obtidas na empresa Mil Madeiras Preciosas Ltda., das espécies louro faia (Roupala montana Aub.), angelim-vermelho (Dinizia excelsa Ducke) e angelim-pedra (Hymenolobium petraeum Ducke), e estes impregnados nos painéis por imersão. Os fungos utilizados nos ensaios foram Rhodonia placenta e Trametes versicolor (12 semanas de ensaio). A resistência dos painéis aglomerados tratados com extratos naturais na concentração de 4%, foram avaliados e os tratamentos classificados como altamente resistentes segundo a norma. Os painéis a base de calabura apresentaram resistência à exposição aos fungos degradadores comparados aos demais tratamentos, enquanto, os painéis a base de pinus apresentaram baixa resistência. O extrato natural amazônico de angelim pedra obteve maior resultado na retenção pela máxima absorção da solução dos painéis aglomerados comparado aos demais extratos avaliados.

Abstract:
The Regional Connector Transit Corridor (RCTC) Project is a 3-km (1.86 mile) underground light rail project in downtown Los Angeles, California being constructed by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). In addition to twin bored tunnels, the project will include 789-m (2,590-ft) long concrete box tunnels and three underground stations to be constructed by cut-and-cover construction. These underground structures will be buried within Holocene- to late Pleistocene-age alluvial soils and the Pliocene-age weak clayey siltstone or silty claystone of the Fernando Formation. The deepest station is about 32-m (105-ft) below the existing grade. Located in one of the most active seismic regions of the world, these underground box structures are being designed to withstand seismic loading resulting from vertically propagating seismic waves. Specifically, the box structures will be designed to withstand differential lateral movement (racking) resulting from the shear waves. As part of the preliminary engineering of the project, seismic analyses were undertaken. The analytical procedure and the results are presented demonstrating the current state of practice for seismic design of transit stations and box structures in Los Angeles. The analytical approach followed Metro's design guidelines. Design response spectra and earthquake time histories were developed for two risk levels using Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) and spectral matching. A series of one-dimensional site response analyses were performed to develop a non-linear distribution of free-field displacement along the depth of each underground structure. The results, including time histories of free-field shear strains and horizontal ground displacements during the seismic events for the two risk levels, were used as input parameters to racking analyses to be used in structural response computations.

Overflights were analyzed from July 27th, 2021 to January 2nd, 2023 using Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data with a total of 525 days of data. Data were collected using data loggers that were deployed at Blyn (located outside of OLYM), Hurricane Ridge, and Hoh Rain Forest.
