With the rapid increase in performance and complexity of wireless networks, it has become challenging to build experimentation platforms that can meet such performance requirements but at the same time are comparatively easy to use and flexible. The lack of suitable platforms inspired us to build MIMORPH, a single experimentation platform that supports massive MIMO sub-6 GHz systems, ultra-high bandwidth Millimeter Wave (mmWave) MIMO, as well as mixed sub-6 GHz and mmWave configurations. It can be operated in a closed-loop manner and is intended for WLAN, 5G-NR and future 6G research. MIMORPH

The taxonomic revision of Mimosa sect. Mimosa ser. Mimosa subser. Polycephalae resulting from the analysis of protologs and the study of approximately 450 collections, including all types, in addition to collections and observations of populations in the field, led us to identify problems of typification, concept, and circumscription for some species directing us to stablish 13 synonymizations, 11 lectotypifications, seven of which were second step, as well as propose the ranking of five varieties to the species level. From this work, the ser. Polycephalae now comprises 34 species.

In this thesis, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) techniques designed for transmission over narrowband Rayleigh fading channels are investigated. Specifically, in order to provide a diversity gain while eliminating the complexity of MIMO channel estimation, a Differential Space-Time Spreading (DSTS) scheme is designed that employs non-coherent detection. Additionally, in order to maximise the coding advantage of DSTS, it is combined with Sphere Packing (SP) modulation. The related capacity analysis shows that the DSTS-SP scheme exhibits a higher capacity than its counterpart dispensing wit

Abstract:
This thesis explores the presumed Batesian mimicry of honeybees (Apis mellifera) (Hymenoptera:Apidae) by droneflies (Eristalis species) (Diptera:Syrphidae). Because droneflies do not show particularly close morphological similarity to honeybees, apart possibly in their size, the work has mainly concentrated on aspects of behaviour which may enhance their mimicry. Analysis of model:mimic ratios revealed that dronefly and honeybee numbers were not consistent with what might be expected if Batesian mimicry was operating. It is suggested that droneflies, which out number their models, may still ga

Batesian mimicry was historically considered to be a perfect illustration of Darwin's theory of adaptation via natural selection. However, recent research has focussed on the seemingly paradoxical existence of so-called "imperfect" Batesian mimicry. The aim of this thesis was to explore in detail some of the main hypotheses attempting to explain the conundrum of mimetic imperfection. Firstly, by studying crab spiders foraging on mimetic and non-mimetic prey, I investigated the extent to which human perceptions of perfection may differ from those of a typical invertebrate predator. If supervision detects risky behavior ex ante then it is complementary to capital regulation. However, financial innovation may erode supervisors' ability to detect risk and capital levels should then be higher. Regulators, however, may not be

Abstract:
In this study, two severe dent and gouge defects were repaired and submitted to both fatigue and burst pressure in order to investigate on the consistency of using composite sleeves on mechanical damage. The two defects were created on a X63 OD 24'' / WT 0.444'' pipe, using a testing facility which mimics an actual construction work excavator
