The article presents the results of a study of the historical aspects of mines usage as an element of armed struggle. The author proves that the specific content of any war is armed struggle, during which various means of defeating the enemy are used, including mine weapons. The emphasis is on the stages of the mines emergence as a type of weapon and the energy of the first mine weapon explosion. It is proved that mine weapons have been and continue to be an important factor in waging wars and conflicts.
