Abstract:
Garnets are major silicates from the upper mantle to the transition zone. Elastic properties of garnets are essential to interpret the variation of seismic velocities at different depths and construct a model of the Earth’s composition. Due to the chemical flexibility at octahedron sites of the crystal structures, garnets usually exist with multiple components and have many composition variations. Pyrope is an important member in the garnet group. Fe2+-Mg2+ substitution in pyrope is one of the common solid solutions. We have synthesized and measured three synthetic solid solutions samples (Py8

Abstract:
Bio-mineral processing is the generic term that describes the processing of metal containing ores, concentrator tailings, newly mined run-of-the-mine (ROM) material, and intermediate to highgrade ores using (micro-) biological technology. The application of bio catalyzed metal extraction has already been established for various metals in lab scale and the commercialization of processes for the extraction of the valuable gold, base metals like copper, zinc and cobalt from their high grade, sulfide ore bodies are over. For the lean grade ores and tailings, which are supposed to be the future reso

Although bioremediation is low cost and ecological concerned, it has high uncertainty come from long remediating time and land use value. Physic-chemical treatments such as in-situ chemical oxidation and surfactant-flush are then widely used on contamination sites. Lubricants are long-chain hydrocarbons. Compared to gasoline, diesel and other oil product, it is more difficult to be metabolized by microorganisms. Treatment train concepts were selected in this study. Three differ
