The two maternal styles are discussed in relation to possible differences in conceptions of oral narrative and of the roles narrator and audience play in the construct

It is shown that narratives are structured in at least two partially independent ways: in terms of story units, which constitute minimal stories (Prince, 1973)t and in terms of Complication^Peripetia Denouement. Compatible with the original Modularity story, it thus takes the output of sentence perception to be a “shallow” representation—though a semantic one. Abstract:
Summarization is the process of selecting representative data to produce a reduced version of the given data with a minimal loss of information; so, it generally works on text, images, videos, and speech data. The chapter deals with not only concepts of text summarization (types, stages, issues, and criteria) but also with applications. The two main categories of approaches generally used in text summaries (i.e., abstractive and extractive) are discussed. Abstractive techniques use linguistic methods to interpret the text; they produce understandable and semantically equivalent sentences with a shorter length. Extractive techniques mostly rely on statistical methods for extracting essential sentences from the given text. In addition, the authors explore the SACAS model to exemplify the process of summarization. The SACAS system analyzed 50 stories, and its evaluation is presented in terms of a new measurement based on question-answering MOS, which is also introduced in this chapter.

Chapter 17 provides approaches and blocking templates for shooting a large group in a cinematic way. Films often show families at the dinner table, business meetings, speeches, performances, crowds, and other gatherings. These scenes must present clear geography so that viewers can get their bearings and keep them as a scene’s story is told. In spite of the many people involved there is often little action: this makes it more important to add visual interest to the storytelling by using interesting angles, camera movement, wipes, foreground, and other techniques. Certain templates of camera coverage can be applied with minimal adjustment to a variety of scenarios. This chapter describes and illustrates blocking and shooting options that can provide the basis of good visual storytelling and continuity editing for scenes involving groups or crowds.

These individuals lack collateral, steady employment, and a verifiable credit history and therefore cannot meet the minimal qualifications to gain traditional credit. While a number of microlending and microenterprise development programs exist that aim to serve low-income populations in the United States, only a few practice “character-based” lending, which focuses on the character of potential clients relative to other traditional components. This chapter on “UAlbany’s Small Enterprise Economic Development (SEED) Program as an Exemplar” discusses a collaborative project among a local university, a credit union, and a state agency which has provided microloans and business opportunities to underserved populations. This chapter focuses on seismic assessment and restoration of one of the numerous historical buildings in Turkey; the Arditi Residence in Urla, Izmir. It is a 150 years old two story masonry building located in a seismically active region. From the structural point of view, the building can be regarded as a mixed system since three different techniques had been used during the construction. The Arditi Residence has been investigated in three stages: preliminary evaluation, seismic performance assessment and intervention. The building has been observed to possess serious deficiencies, which are not easy to handle due to the complexity of the construction system. On the other hand, the proposed intervention strategies should have the minimal impact on the historic information building carrying and provide a certain level of safety against the seismic demands. Overall, the chapter presents a contribution to seismic assessment and restoration of historical structures on the basis of Arditi Residence, a unique historical building with serious problems in an earthquake-prone region.

Abstract:
Russian priority - the study of storm surges and wave climate in the Arctic seas due to the active development of offshore oil and gas. Researching the formation of storm surge and wave are necessary for the design and construction of facilities in the coastal zone, as well as for the safety of navigation. An inactive port ensues considerable economic losses. It is important to study the variability of storm surges, wave climate in the past and forecast the future. Consequently, this information would be used for planning the development of the Arctic in accordance with the development program

Abstract:
The Manhattan Engineer District previously used the 191-acre Niagara Falls Storage Site (NFSS) in Niagara County, New York, to store radioactive residues and wastes from uranium (U) ore processing. At present, management practices will determine whether enhanced evapotranspiration rates produced by hybridized shrub willow cuttings planted in 2016 will affect groundwater hydrology. Two shrub willow varieties were planted in an approximately one-half acre area to examine growth performance along a U impacted sanitary sewer line. Additionally, control plots will compare the effectiveness of shrub
