The government should participate by selling put options at or above the minimum support price, so that farmers can exercise the option if they find that market prices are below the minimum support price.

The contemporary scene of strikes by farmers concerning Minimum Support Price (MSP) in India has recently become the news headlines of social mass media and has emerged as a topic of interest for all those having to do with the affairs concerning minimum support price. Yes, it is agreeable that the minimum support price is a definite thing to help the concerned stakes in a particular economics of a State and India is not an exception. But the pertinent question arising here is as to why the farmers, as one of the important stakeholders, resorted to acts of strike and gruesome violent clashes with the police resulting in hundreds of deaths on both sides. It is therefore, in this study, an attempt has been made to understand the perception of the common public by doing primary research using structured questionnaire as the tool of research taking five hundred (500) individuals; randomly selected from the North India as sample size. The findings of the study will help the concerned stakeholders get perceptional awareness for a thorough approach to diffuse such untoward situations.

Abstract It is time to debate the socio-economic cost of making the Minimum Support Price (MSP) mandatory. The farmers’ demand was to repeal the three farm laws. The MSP is in order to protect farmer interests when the market crashes to the disadvantage of farmers. With eyes closed, one would agree that the Government cannot afford to do away with this scheme. Rather, even after bringing in the ordinance on the farm reforms in May 2020, the government continued the practice of revising the MSP upwards and procurement at a higher MSP had taken place. The chapter discusses the pros and cons of the requirement of making MSP into a law.

Today, millet has been rebranded as “Nutri-cereals.” It became a choice for the taste of many consumers. Its nutri-rich sources and benefits are creating a fascination for many consumers and apparently there will be further increase in demand for the future. On the other hand, millet also attracted attention due to lower investments by farmers requirements such as water fertilizers, pesticides, etc., with good income and market potentiality. Moreover, it is increasing minimum support price (MSP), and millets can also be considered as positive cultivation for the farmers to make decisions on agriculture. The eventual declining trend of the natural resource availability also identifies the need for crop shift as of paramount importance. Abstract:
As energy fuels play a significant role in many parts of human life, it is of great importance to have an effective price predictive analysis. In this chapter, the hybridization of Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LSSVM) with an enhanced Artificial Bee Colony (eABC) is proposed to meet the challenge. The eABC, which serves as an optimization tool for LSSVM, is enhanced by two types of mutations, namely the Levy mutation and the conventional mutation. The Levy mutation is introduced to keep the model from falling into local minimum while the conventional mutation prevents the model from over-fitting and/or under-fitting during learning. Later, the predictive analysis is followed by the LSSVM. Realized in predictive analysis of heating oil prices, the empirical findings not only manifest the superiority of eABC-LSSVM in prediction accuracy but also poses an advantage to escape from premature convergence.

This chapter continues the exploration into the lives of the group as they discuss and try to navigate day-to-day life with very limited means and resources available to them. Having little money focuses the mind, and here we see how much this is the case with the constant thought as to the cost and prices of everyday items, whether they be food or clothes or cigarettes. Life and consciousness are thoroughly permeated by ideas of price and cost, and people are implicitly thinking all the time as to how they will manage from day to day. Practices of borrowing and lending are integral to the functioning of life on the estate and function as systems of financial solidarity and support. Lives are circumscribed very tightly by the minimum of resources available to people, and they must creatively work out how to live under such conditions.

Abstract:
Digital marketing covers all the marketing strategies that are using the internet or an electronic device. It is a new way of approaching customers. According to a recent survey, India’s digital advertising industry is growing at a rate of 33.5 per cent annually. There is a gradual rise in digitization and modernization taking place in several aspects. Agriculture sector is also identified as one of the potential sectors of digitization due to large volumes traded and a high level of fragmentation present in the supply chain. In India, a significant part of the population is engaged in agriculture. Although different modern techniques and practices have been adopted in agriculture that has undoubtedly helped to improve the production over the years, but there has been a constant challenge to provide a market for the marketed surplus and getting fair prices for the same. Agricultural marketing covers the services involved in moving a farm product to the target consumer. It has undergone numerous changes over the last few years. It has beautifully evolved from barter system to organized marketplaces to today’s electronic market platform owing to several technological changes and government interventions. Institutions such as Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMC), regulated market yards, and minimum support price are instances of state support that have led to a strong primary sector. Further, development of technological and financial innovations has changed the commodity transaction pattern of the stakeholders. Digitization of transactions helps in trading large volumes and also enhances transparency and associated benefits. Different initiatives have been taken by the Indian Government to digitize the agriculture sector to help the farming community such as launching of Digital India Campaign and various mobile applications that help in increasing agriculture productivity
