Abstract Technological innovation in the mining industry involves the extensive use of new high-power, energy-intensive, and high-performance mining machinery that should be reliable in its operation. The key mining company equipment includes mining excavators, drilling rigs, crushing and screening units, and mine drainage facilities. Providing the fault-free power supply and the efficient operation of the electrical infrastructure of a mining company is a priority, and it depends on the quality of the power supply system and its elements. Power supply system failures reduce the operational ef

Introduction: mining has recently aroused substantial interest inRussia due to the rise in crypto-currency rates. Therefore, new coins are harder to obtain, and mining equipment turns more expensive. Computation capacities are provided by mining farms, and the number of their computation modules reaches 20 units, if operated by natural persons, and 300 – 5,000 units, if operated by major computation centres. One of the factors restraining the development of industrialscale mining, consists in high power consumption rates demonstrated by major computation centres. Therefore, the problem of high

The reported failures have occurred at the load side of the transfo1mer in underground substations. This raised concerns that switching surges associated with vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) were adversely interacting with systems that used neutral earthing reactor (NER) as a means of earth fault limitation. This implied a need to study the performance of NERs in conjunction with switching ofVCBs, in order to identify the expected overvoltage levels. The
