Background: Rotation flaps are arcuate repairs that redistribute tension vectors and recruit adjacent and/or distant tissue laxity. The incision curve could be a logarithmic spiral curve to reduce the length of an incision. We propose a rotation flap—the golden ratio flap—designed using a golden rectangle. Methods: The flap incision is an arc though the major square which is beside the minor square of a golden rectangle. The defect is attached to the line of another minor square and diagonal to the major square. The bottom line runs from the incision end to the tangent point of the circle or t

Aims To determine whether incident minor and major lower extremity amputations (LEAs) have declined in recent decades in type 2 diabetes. Methods Participants with type 2 diabetes from the community-based Fremantle Diabetes Study Phases I (FDS1; n = 1,296, mean age 64.0 years, recruited 1993–1996) and II (FDS2; n = 1,509, mean age 65.4 years, recruited 2008–2011) were followed from entry to incident minor/major LEA, death or five years. Cox regression determined hazard ratios (HRs) for each outcome for FDS2 versus FDS1 and independent predictors of incident minor and major LEA in the combined

Planetary gear drive with minor teeth difference (zd≤8) is one of the advanced transmitting styles and could meet the requirement of larger ratio in a smaller size of dimension. Generally the gears with addenda modifications play a principal role in planetary gear drive of minor teeth difference to avoid teeth interference during the mesh, and this transmission implies cumbersome parameters calculations and brings up higher angle of engagement to affect the load capacity because of life weakening on carrier bearings involved. In fact, provided some certain promise, zero addenda modification (v

Osteosarcoma is a malignant form of bone cancer that responds poorly to chemotherapy and has a significant incidence of recurrence. Recent studies suggest the need for new natural agents to support treatment. Lemna minor is a macrophyte frequently used in traditional treatments and is known to have high antioxidant and antimicrobial properties due to the phenolic compounds it contains. This study investigated the anticancer activity of the L. minor on Saos-2 cancer cells and the apoptosis pathways. L. minor was extracted in ethanol by microwave technique. This study's population consisted of 11 pharmaceutical companies registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2022. This study's sample was determined using a purposive sampling strategy, yielding a sample of 9 pharmaceutical companies with a total of 35 observation data. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed as the analytical method. The study's findings reveal that the Current Ratio, Debt to Equity

This paper investigates segmental lining, developing a numerical model to explore the dynamic interaction between saturated soil and the lining structure, and analyses the effects of the angle of incident load and the wavelength-to-diameter ratio on the displacement, deformation, and distribution of the plastic zone of the structure. The findings demonstrate that the structure experiences vertical compressive deformation during ground shock predominantly. The structure can be categorised into the major deformation region (with an angle within 60° of the vertical direction) and the minor deform

Six specimens of abnormal interior joints were tested under reversed cyclic loading. Experimental studies were carried out to investigate the influence of joint core dimensions and axial compression ratio on crack resistance of abnormal joints. The results showed that the crack resistance capacity was mainly provided by the minor core concrete (determined by the top column and the small beam) , and the minor core concrete was in elastic stage before cracks appeared. Furthermore, axial compression ratio was a significant parameter to increase the crack resistance capacity. Based on the test res

The topic of this study concerns principally representative models of some elliptical thin-walled anatomic vessels and polymeric tubes under uniform negative transmural pressure p (internal pressure minus external pressure). The ellipse’s ellipticity ko, defined as the major-to-minor axis ratio, varies from 1 up to 10. As p decreases from zero, at first the cross-section becomes somewhat oval, then the opposite sides touch in one point at the first-contact pressure pc. If p is lowered beneath pc, the curvature of the cross-section at the point of contact decreases until it becomes zero at the
