We present the case of a 27-year-old lady who was seen in the infertility clinic with a history of secondary infertility of a one-year duration. She had a hysteroscopy and Mirena insertion for heavy periods. Coil strings were not found by the GP during first coil check six weeks after insertion. A pelvic ultrasound scan did not show any coil, and it was not investigated further with a possible diagnosis of coil expulsion made. One year following that, she was seen in the infertility clinic. Initial investigations revealed anovulation, and HSG located the coil to be extrauterine. Mirena was rem

Abstract:
Background: Recent evidence presented the significant role of the microRNA-193 (miR-193) family in biological processes by the contribution of specific targeting, which mainly display as a tumor suppressor in various cancers. In the present study, we evaluated the effect of miR-193a-5p replacement on some metastasis gene expression in metastatic breast cancer (BC) cells. Methods: For this purpose, firstly, the quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRTPCR) was used to detect the miR-193a-5p expression in the MDA-MB-231 BC cell line. Subsequently, miR-193a-5p was transfected into the

Diarrhea is the most common issue in sheep farms, typically due to pathogenic Escherichia coli (E. coli) infections, such as E. coli F17. microRNA, a primary type of non-coding RNA, has been shown to be involved in diarrhea caused by pathogenic E. coli. To elucidate the profound mechanisms of miRNA in E. coli F17 infections, methods such as E. coli F17 adhesion assay, colony counting assay, relative quantification of bacterial E. coli fimbriae gene expression, indirect immune fluorescence (IF), Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU), Western blotting (WB), and scratch ass

Abstract:
Maintaining the balance of calcium (Ca2+) metabolism in the kidney is crucial in preventing the formation of kidney stones. Functionally, the microRNA (miRNA) participating in this process needs to be unveiled. We induced NRK-52E cell injury by oxalate treatment. The role of transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 5 (TRPV5) in oxalate-induced cells was studied by TRPV5 overexpression transfection, qRT-PCR, Western blot, MTT, and crystal adhesion detection. After identifying uromodulin (UMOD) expression in injured cells, we confirmed the interaction between TRPV5 and UMOD

The death rate from gastric cancer (GC) is increasing while the methods of early diagnosis and treatment of GC are still limited. CircRNAs have ability to bind with miRNA to exert therapeutic action on kinds of cancers. The purpose of this study was to explore the action mechanism of circ-CCDC66 in GC. CCDC66, miR-129-5p and LHX2 mRNA and protein expression were examine by qRT-PCR and Western blot. Flow cytometry and Western blot were used to identify cells apoptosis. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was applied to verified the binding site that miR-129-5p and CCDC66 or LHX2. Transwell assay and

Abstract:
Colibacillosis is an acute and chronic avian disease caused by avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC). Previous studies have demonstrated that RIP2 plays a significant role in APEC infection. Moreover, increasing evidence indicates that microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in host–pathogen interactions and the immune response. However, the role of miRNAs in the host against APEC infection remains unclear. Herein, we attempted to reveal new miRNAs potentially involved in the regulation of the immune and inflammatory response against APEC infection, with a particular focus on those possibly correlated with
