This thesis argues that the drama of George Chapman (1559-1634) can be read in light of his deep ambivalence towards the political elite of the Jacobean court. Abstract:

When Russian Empress Catherine the Great (1729–1796) wrote allegorical fairy tales and educational materials for her grandsons, as well as an audience of Russian children, she actively partook in transnational traditions, finding inspiration and models in genres that fluidly crossed geographical boundaries in the eighteenth century. Comparing Catherine’s writings for children both nationally and transnationally with other mirrors for princes intended to guide young rulers, allegorical fairy tales in exotic settings, and broader enlightening projects of the time, reveals how her works hybridise different genres and transnational sources of inspiration to create something new and never seen before in Russia. At the same time, the example of Catherine’s writings also exemplifies how writings for a child become literature for children.

AbstractWork and family are two domains of human life that are closely interconnected. For that reason, job resources can potentially contribute to have a better non-work life domain. The purpose of this research is to study how contextual resources, such as spouse behavior at home, can foster human flourishing through spill crossover, resulting in enriched outcomes in the work and home domain. We explore how support for work received from the spouse can lead to the generation of resources such as creativity, self-efficacy and strategic renewal. This chapter contributes to the work and family literature by introducing the concept of work supportive spouse behavior (WSSB), defined as behaviors exhibited by spouses that are supportive of their partner’s role in the workplace—this concept mirrors the family supportive supervisor behavior (FSSB) that denotes behaviors by supervisors that favor their employees’ role as family members.

The caustic test is longstanding in the literature as a very powerful method for determining the surface figure of aspheric concave mirrors. Gaviola1 first described the test in detail. Until recently, the test had been applied typically to paraboloidal mirrors, although Cornejo-Rodriguez and Malacara2 have extended the test to measure conic surfaces.
