It observes reaction of the heart rate and systolic blood pressure and compares with the cardiovascular response to the exercise on an upper body ergometer. Adipose-derived MSC could be used as an alternative for bone marrow MSC in the treatment of acute SCI. We used the intraspinal grafting of rat adipose-derived naïve and predifferentiated MSC to improve motor function after a balloon-induced compression lesion of the rat spinal cord. Grafted cells survived for seven weeks after transplantation, improved motor activity and integrated into the host tissue. The scope of work was to obtain an objective idea of the function of diaphragm and respiratory muscles in patients after spinal cord injury at defined intervals during the first six months. According to ATS standards of pulmonary function tests were examined 15 probands (3 women and 12 men) with complete or incomplete spinal cord lesions, who were divided according to the ASIA score. This work describes improvements in lung function over time in group C4-C8/A,B and group Th1-Th6/A,B and shows that the average lung function are better at lower levels of lesions.
