Agostino Mitelli (1609-1660) è una figura centrale nella vicenda artistica bolognese. Rinnova profondamente la quadratura, genere in cui opera maggiormente, e diventa il principale riferimento per le generazioni successive. Infatti ha un grande numero di allievi che si fanno interpreti del suo stile e le sue opere continuano ad essere studiate fino a Settecento inoltrato. Nel suo lavoro accorda una grande importanza al mezzo grafico, in cui eccelle e che considera strumento di verifica ed esercizio. Questa predilezione influenza anche i suoi seguaci: dopo la sua morte i suoi disegni diventano molto ricercati e vengono impiegati come repertori di soluzioni di quadratura ed elementi decorativi. Sono essi stessi strumento di studio e infatti ci è pervenuto un grande numero di copie ed esercizi in stile mitelliano. L'analisi sistematica di questo materiale anonimo e poco studiato mi ha permesso di individuare alcune delle personalità di maggiore spicco tra i suoi seguaci, quali Domenico Santi, Giacomo Antonio Mannini e Marc'Antonio Chiarini. Per valutare l'influenza dell'opera di Agostino presso le generazioni successive è centrale anche la produzione calcografica che analizzo a partire dalle quattro serie di elementi di ornato che egli stesso dà alle stampe e che riscuotono molto successo, come provano le numerose ristampe, anche francesi. Dopo la sua morte vengono incise diverse imprese che si riallacciano al suo operato: la prima è quella del figlio Giuseppe Maria Mitelli che pubblica alcuni suoi disegni. Seguono le serie di Santi, Buffagnotti, Mannini, Chiarini e diversi altri che comprendono anche quadratura e veduta e che spesso sono state riassemblate da editori e collezionisti. Anche le fonti affrontano la questione della dipendenza delle successive generazioni dagli stilemi di Agostino Mitelli, oltre a quelle a stampa ho studiato approfonditamente i manoscritti inediti dell'altro figlio di Agostino, Giovanni Mitelli, che forniscono molte nuove notizie.Agostino Mitelli (1609-1660) is a key figure in Bolognese art evolution. In fact he refurbished quadratura fresco, the field he used to work more in, and became a landmark for the following generations. He had many pupils who became exponents of his style and his works had been studied till late 18th century. Agostino was also an excellent draughtsman and granted a great importance to the graphic medium as a verification and practice instrument. This predilection influenced also his followers: after his death there was a great demand of his drawings, used as ornamental and quadratura's repertoires. They were also used as a mean of study, in fact there is a large amount of copies and exercises in his style, that I have systematically analyzed. Therefore I was able to identify some of the most important followers of Agostino: Domenico Santi, Giacomo Antonio Mannini and Marc'Antonio Chiarini. To assess the influence of Agostino's work on following generations the chalcographic production is also important. I analyzed this production from his four ornamental etchings sets, which have been reprinted several times, even in France. After his death other sets were printed and they were very close to his work. The first one was made by his son, Giuseppe Maria Mitelli, who engraved some of Agostino's drawings. Santi, Buffagnotti, Mannini, Chiarini and several others' sets followed and those also included quadratura and view and this sets were very often re-assembled by editors and collectors. Also contemporary sources discussed the dependence of following generations from Agostino Mitelli's work, it is the case of the unpublished manuscripts of Giovanni Mitelli, the other son of Agostino, that provided a lot of new information.

The PHD thesis entitled: Soft prevention models as a remediation tool for mafia facilitation in the entrepreneurial field. The method of "antimafia compliance by design" analyzes the networks between mafia and economy, trying to identify the mimetic forms of adaptation of the mafia entrepreneur in the area of the legal economy.
The selected qualitative research method is based on sociological-legal analysis, that was used to investigate the tools of patrimonial aggression of criminal assets created by Italian legislation to counter the infiltration of the mafia into the economy.
The prevention tools of articles 34 and 34 bis of the Anti-Mafia Code were selected, among all criminal and administrative instruments, because they were considered the most suitable to operate on the criminal contamination of the company in a surgical manner, protecting the work and the value of the healthy companies.
The sociological-legal effectiveness of these tools was analyzed through the study of 16 cases sampled based on the geographic survey and on the variables of the reference economic sector.
At the end of the analysis, the author proposes a “compliance by design model” dedicated to the prevention of mafia infiltration into the economy, according to the canons of business ethics.

The aim of this thesis is to understand the physiological explanations behind the neural stimulation as well as the design and fabrication of a urinary incontinence prosthesis. This research work is divided into three main components. The first part explains the anatomy and functions of the nervous system as well as the electrical stimulation in general and in particular the stimulation of the bladder, spanning from the form of the stimuli waveforms over to the charge injection theory throughout the choice of stimulation sites. The second part explains the whole system of the urinary incontinence prosthesis as well as the full custom ICBSHURI microprocessor chip. The whole prosthesis is composed of three main parts: two external control devices and a surgically implanted part. The last part explains the hybrid circuit, which is carrying the microprocessor chip and different circuits needed for the functioning of the prosthesis."--Résumé abrégé par UMI.

In early 2002, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) commenced to develop its own low-cost Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver with the capability for space applications such as satellites in Low Earth Orbits, and sounding rockets. This is named the SPace Applications Receiver (SPARx). This receiver development is based on the Zarlink (formerly known as Mitel) GP2000 Chip set and is a modification of the Mitel Orion 12 channel receiver design. Commercially available GPS receivers for space applications are few and expensive. The QUT SPARx based on the Mitel Orion GPS receiver design is cost effective for space applications. At QUT its use is being maximized for space applications and carrier phase processing in a cost-effective and specific way.
To build upon previous SPARx software developments made from 2002 to 2003, the receiver is required to be modified to have L1 carrier phase navigation capability. Such an improvement is necessary for the receiver to be used in 3-axis attitude determination and relative navigation using carrier phase.
The focus of this research is on the implementation of the L1 carrier phase measurement capability with SPARx. This is to enable the use of improved navigation algorithms. Specific emphasis is given to the areas of time synchronization, the carrier phase implementation and carrier phase differential GPS with SPARx. Test results conducted in the area of time synchronization and comparisons with other carrier phase capable GPS receivers are given, as well as an investigation of the use of SPARx in carrier phase differential GPS. Following these, conclusions and recommendations are given for further improvements to SPARx.

ANNOTATION: The work The Mirror of Reality in the Imagery of Dreams of the 19th and 20th Centuries - Creative Individuality versus the Chaos of the Time is based on the assumption that dreams are inseparably linked to the concept of existence in human life (Michel Foucault). The study touches on the ways in which dreams are depicted in visual culture that does not coincide with chronologically organized historical events, but is an expression of a free alliance between artists in the European space and centuries of common experience. These works are generally socially critical, exposed to unimaginable pressure from public censorship. The artist must pretend it is only an innocent game, a crazy idea, a whim. At the same time, these paintings are not an expression of boundless imagination, but they are subject to the firm rules of spatial construction of the painting. This is due to the traditional delimitation of dark depths - the underworld of Virgil's Saturn myth of pre-Roman culture, alternating with the vertically felt open heavens as variants of the original Plato's The Myth of Er, which in the 20th century paintings is replaced by the idea of an open landscape with illumination on the low horizon. The scope of this dissertation research is formulated to develop designs of fully integrated surface micromachined humidity sensors which can be realized using the standard CMOS process, and low cost and efficient post processing techniques. The configurations of resistive and capacitive humidity sensors are designed, analyzed and optimized for miniaturization. The sensing properties of various humidity sensitive materials are reviewed in view of their potential application in microsensors. Polyaniline compound is proposed for fabrication of prototype micro humidity sensors. Analytical models of the resistive and capacitive microsensors are developed to study the steady-state and transient performance characteristics of the sensor. The properties of the proposed compound are analyzed through fabrication and testing of an array of laboratory samples. Different designs of conditioning circuits are further presented for integration. Different post-processings are analyzed, and low cost and efficient post-processing technique for fabrication of humidity sensors, based upon spincoating alone, is proposed

Part I. Polyphenols and their cytotoxic activity from the endemic plant, Mitella formosana. Mitella formosana (Hay.) Masam. (Saxifragaceae) is a perennial and pubescent herb, endemic to Taiwan and grows at medium to high altitudes. The methanolic extract of the whole plant of this species showed cytotoxic activity against TOV-21G-RTx (paclitaxel-resistant ovarian cancer), SK-Hep-1 (hepatocellular carcinoma), MG-63 (osteosarcoma) cell lines, but only revealed potent cytotoxicity to TOV-21G-RTx at low concentration. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the active ethyl acetate-soluble layer from the whole plant of M. formosana led to the isolation of two new compounds, mitellaformosin (MF-1) and (S)-(–)-2,3-dihydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)propan-1-one (MF-2) as well as 28 known compounds. The structures of these isolates were elucidated by spectral analysis. The predominant compounds were 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-galloyl-β-D-glucose (MF-23) and tellimagrandin II (MF-30), which showed strong cytotoxic effect on TOV-21G-RTx cancer cell line with IC50 values of 4.8 and 6.0 μM, respectively. Part II. Secondary metabolites and biological activities of the endophytic fungus– Phomopsis asparagi from the endemic plant of Peperomia sui. Phomopsis asparagi (Sacc.) Grove was the endophytic fungus which isolated from the whole plant of Peperomia sui Lin & Lu. Preliminary data showed that its liquid fermentation had the estrogen receptor modulating activity. Bioassay-guided fractionation of the ethyl acetate-soluble layer from the liquid fermentation of P. asparagi led to the isolation of 10 compounds, including two new compounds, phomocytochalasin A (PA-1), (R)-(–)-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane-1,2-diol (PA-2) and 8 known compounds. The structures of these isolates were elucidated by spectral analysis. However, the active compounds for estrogen receptor modulating activity have not been isolated yet. On the other hand, phomocytochalasin A (PA-1) and cytochalasin H (PA-6) showed remarkable effect on actin cytoskeleton disruption of SiHa cells with the IC50 values of 0.34 ± 0.05 μM and 0.27 ± 0.02 μM, respectively. The structure-activity relationship of cytochalasins was observed and the OH-7, 6(12)-en-7-ol as well as acetoxy group at C-21 were claimed to be essential to the manifestation of the toxicity.
