Derelict fishing gear, particularly pots or traps, occupy waters worldwide and cause negative ecological and economic impacts. Derelict pots persist throughout Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the U.S., that supports a valuable commercial fishery for the blue crab Callinectes sapidus. Chesapeake Bay is responsible for 30-40% of U.S. commercial blue crab harvests. Yet, few studies have quantified the impacts of derelict pots on harvest or the perceptions of commercial fishers on derelict pot mitigation activities in this predominantly pot fishery. Abstract:

Abstract:
Norway’s two cement manufacturing plants are both among the top 10 largest national point sources of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and together contribute to 2% of the total GHG emissions. One of the important measures being pushed for to mitigate these emissions is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), for which the Norwegian Government is to make an investment decision in 2020/2021. Norway may end up with the first full-scale CCS project in the cement sector on a global basis, so the technology is still in its infancy in industrial applications outside of oil extraction. Abstract:
Abstract Most of the steel produced in the world is based on the integrated blast furnace-converter route, which is based on the use of virgin raw materials. Large amounts of fossil-based, carbon containing reductants are used in blast furnaces, which results in carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Fossil carbon dioxide emissions from steel production can be reduced by new technologies or moving from non-renewable to renewable energy sources. Biomass-based reductants could be one way to reduce the specific emissions from blast furnace-based steel production. The aim of this thesis was
