This chapter examines one of nine critical forces behind purchase decisions that make mobile advertising so powerful: tech mix. Tech mix can be described as a force that enables businesses to pursue omni-channel marketing. It has two dimensions. First, consumers today spend time on multiple devices (or multiple screens) and this sort of multihoming creates an interdependency between devices that firms can tap into. Second, consumers are exposed to multiple ad messages in different ad formats for the same brand across different channels at different points in time in their path to purchase. Thi

Abstract We began the book by posing a riddle: how can current theories of exclusive homosexuality, with their emphasis on fixed biological characteristics, explain bisexuality? It did not seem feasible to us that these theories could do justice to the complexity of a sexual preference in which people engage in sex with both same- and opposite-sex partners and often change this mix over their lives. If current theories cannot explain these patterns, how exactly do our general conceptions of sexual preference need to be rethought?

Abstract Greek papyrus letters are full of words for children; when not sending greetings to children or passing on greetings from children, the writers are likely to be discussing their offspring’s health, activities, or clothing. Some children are mentioned by name, but many are identified only by a kinship term, or by a combination of name and kinship term. The use of these kinship terms in letters seems to have little to do with their individual meanings but rather follows a peculiar set of rules, different both from the usage of their English equivalents and from that of the same Greek wo

The problem of capricious log response is one that has persistently troubled formation evaluation experts since the Schlumberger brothers ran their first log in Pechelbronn, France. Since the advent of 6FF40 induction logs in the 1950’s, subtle differences have been noted between laterolog and induction response. As field resistivity measurements have evolved to array induction and array laterolog tools, resultant resistivity variability has increased.
