Abstract This dissertation presents wideband and multi-element antennas for mobile applications. It is divided into the following main parts: modal theory, wideband antennas, multi-element antennas, and wideband multi-element antennas. The radiating fields are first studied in terms of spherical scalar and vector modes, and it is shown how these modes correlate with the characteristic current modes on a planar mobile ground plane. The theory part shows how it is possible to excite the same modes on a conventional sphere and a rectangular planar mobile ground plane. The theory refers to the nov

Both designs were printed on FR4 substrates and have the character of simple structure. The first design consisted of a planar monopole antenna. Three resonance bandwidths below - 6 dB measurement for the entire bandwidth ranging from 746~960 MHz and 1710~2170 MHz can be achieved with the design. The covering frequency bands conform to the specification of 4G mobile phone system application. The return loss, rad

The purpose is to reduce the antenna and increase the gain, and apply it to 4G/3G/2G wireless mobile communication systems. So the antenna operating frequency band in this thesis is from the traditional 2G GSM (with quad-band 824~960 MHz/1710~1990 MHz) and 3G UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System, 1920 ~ 2170 MHz). In addition, the current fourth-generation mobile communication system mainly has three frequency 700/800, 1700/1900 and 2600MHz. Its design uses a quarter-wave monopole antenna calculat

Eight compact discrete- fed slot antennas are placed on the top portion of a mobile phone printedcircuit- board (PCB) to form a beam-steerable array. The frequency response of the antenna can be reconfigured to operate at either 28 GHz or 38 GHz, two of the candidate frequency bands for millimeter-wave (MM-Wave) 5G communications. The reconfigurability function of the proposed design can be achieved by implementing and biasing a pair of diodes across each T-

碩士
國立臺灣科技大學
電機工程系
103
This thesis is focused on the development of an antenna measurement system and a broadband antenna applicable for LTE uses. The first part is about a low-cost, semi-automatic effective diversity gain measurement system for multi-antenna systems. It comprises a transmitter and a receiving end. Continuous waves are provided by a signal generator and emitted from a reference antenna. The receiving end contains a control computer, a multi-channel data acquisition card, RF power detectors, and the multi-antenna system under test. The system can automatically read a
