Abstract:
We add mobility to Place-Transition Petri nets: tokens are names for places, and an input token of a transition can be used in its postset to specify a destination. Mobile Petri nets are then further extended to dynamic nets by adding the possibility of creating new nets during the firing of a transition. In this way, starting from Petri nets, we define a simple hierarchy of nets with increasing degrees of dynamicity. For each class in this hierarchy, we provide its encoding in the former class. Our work was largely inspired by the join-calculus of Fournet and Gonthier, which turns out to be a

Choosing the best way for describing physical reality has always been standing in focus of research. Several methodologies have been developed based on classical mathematics, or statistics and also new disciplines — such as soft-computing techniques — appeared. Petri Nets as one of the most naturalistic modeling methodologies are well suited to describe complex process in general. However in some fields of modeling the describing power of basic Petri Nets proved not to be robust enough, therefore several extensions were made to the original concept. Here we report a 24 month study of benthic fauna dropping from such cliffs at sites of differing cliff angle and flow rates at Lough Hyne Marine Nature Reserve, Co. Cork, Ireland. The magnitude of ‘fall out’ material collected in capture nets was highly seasonal and composed of sessile and mobile elements. Sponges, ascidians, cnidarians, polychaetes, bryozoans and barnacles dominated the sessile forms. The remainder (mobile fauna) were scavengers and predators such as asteroid echino

Abstract:
Mobile robots are extensively used to complete repetitive operations in industrial areas such as intelligent transportation, logistics, and manufacturing systems. This paper addresses the path planning problem of multi-type robot systems with time windows based on timed colored Petri nets. The tasks to be completed are divided into three different types: common, exclusive and collaborative. An analytical approach to plan a group of different types of mobile robots is developed to ensure that some specific robots will visit task regions within given time windows. First, a multi-type robot syste

The article presents a methodology for the development of information exchange tools based on the apparatus of hierarchical Petri nets, characterized by the possibility of simultaneous events and allows solving the problem of correctness analysis and verification of protocols. Protocol objects and access points are represented on the basis of the Petri nets apparatus: the simplest object of the reception/transmission protocol, the queue object, a single object and a trivial object. It describes the construction of complex structures of objects and operations on them, the management of timeouts

In this paper a theoretical approach of the generalized hybrid model and time cycle optimization of a mechatronics line served by mobile robot with manipulator is presented. Thus, the considered global model is a hybrid one as it is based on the dynamics of discrete and continuous components which interact on a basic level. The generalized Synchronized Hybrid Petri Nets (SHPN) model describes this hybrid system with N degree of repetitive tasks. The advantage of this generalized approach consists in the optimization of the process parameters. Consequently, a time cycle optimization which is ba

In-line with the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Technical Strategy for Malaria (2016–2030), Vietnam is striving to eliminate malaria by 2030. Targeting appropriate interventions in high-risk populations such as forest and forest-fringe communities is a critical component of malaria elimination efforts in Vietnam. In 2016, a household-level malaria indicator survey was conducted in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam with the aim of assessing the knowledge, behaviors and associated risks of malaria infection among priority mobile and migrant populations (MMPs) working and sleeping in forests an
